I'd go fully back to stock and start again if i were you.
Flash stock recovery
Flash stock 1.6
Flash clockwork recovery
Flash paul's 2.1 (I think this is necessary, i can't remember)
Flash 2.2
Done
Also, what's ROM Manager? Oo

I flashed a custom rom onto my unlocked/unbranded streak and want to go back to stock 2.2. I have a nandroid backup but I would prefer the stock 2.2. Where can I download a full update.zip (or similar) to be flashed with clockwork 2.5.0.1 onto my US streak?
i dont know if there is a stock 2.2 in a zip
the only way i cud get a 2.2 on ine was to use QDL tool and that got me a pre release 2.2 on my streak and got the streak recovery working so you could download a stock 2.2 from the dell site and put that as #update.pkg on ur sd card and update that way then put clock work back on if u wanted i guess

SOLVED Post Locked
Hey guys, first post here
Had a streak fora bout a month now and it is currently on froyo 2.2 and baseband 319(the o2 locked version)
I have rooted it successfully I think! Using superonclick, found out I had to do a shell root first then a root. So superuser is in my apps and along with that I can use the SU command in terminal.
So I guess thats a successful root right?
Trying to put the new streakdroid on it and this is when I get problems.
I have rom manager app installed and use the flash clockworkmod recovery to streak by clicking it and picking dell streak.
All seems successful but when I try to boot into recovery clockwork, it gets SU permission but just restarts the phone :/
Even turning it off and turning it on while holding volume keys just enters a recovery that isn't clockwork at all
Anything that I am missing at all?
Thanks in advance!
See this thread.
If you want to install one of the Streakdroid ROMs you don't have to root first.
Install (flash) streakmod recovery
Use fastboot -i 0x413c reboot, while the phone restarts hold both volume buttons to get to streakmod (don't let the phone restart normally)
Wipe the cache partition
wipe dalvik cache
Install the version of streakdroid you want
There are some pictures in this thread that may help with using streakmod recovery.
I got it working in the end using clockworkmod.
Found out rom manager isn't so good for streak
Wel I got streakdroid installed and decided I didn't like it so flashed back a stock 2.1 ROM and updated to 2.2 on the dell site.
I rooted becuase I wanted to use titanium backup. I'm now going to setup a stock 2.2 nandroid backup then setup a streakdroid nandroid backup and switch between them until I like one more
Will that work?
All Questions and Problems regarding Streakdroid should be asked in the streakdroid Thread Thanks
Hello,
I rooted my phone with z4root, and then installed SuperUser and ROM Manager v4.2.1.0.
I flashed ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7 (selecting Dell Streak version). When I try to "reboot into Recovery" (using ROM Manager), the phone will reboot to the startup screen, not to ClockworkMod Recovery screen. If I try to boot to recovery by holding the VOL + and -, it will reboot to the stock recovery screen.
I bought this Streak USED, and I think that the previous owner had flashed a 2.2 version on it before the official upgrade. Is there a way to reset this back to the original settings? I would like to use StreakDroid 2.0.0. Am I missing a critical step in the procedure? Thank you all for your help in advance.
Android Version 2.2
Baseband - GAUSB1A130500-US
Kernel 2.6.32.9-perf
OEM - GAUSB1A130500
Build 10688
Stop using rom manager, qdltool the phone, then try again. Rom manager has caused a lot of problems for a great deal of people I know.

You don't need to go back to the original settings if you plan on using a custom ROM, it's a waste of time....
You should've read through more threads and found out ROM Manager doesn't play well with the 5" Streak. Anyway, you need to look for the thread under Streak Android Development called Streakmod Recovery and download that recovery image...
Secondly you need to look for the "fastboot" folder download and get that on your computer so you can flash the Streakmod recovery image.
Thirdly you need to download the baseband you wanna use.... I think most have gone from the 318 baseband that was engineered to work for StreakDroid 1.9 to the 351 baseband and it's working for StreakDroid 2.0 also. (if you are just getting started I would personally suggest using StreakDroid 1.9 until DJ Steve has worked the kinks out of 2.0)
Aside from all I just told you you should look this link up to make sure you get all the correct drivers installed:
http://streakdroid.com/?page_id=92
This is also a very helpful BUT instead of using Clockwork Mod Recovery you will be using StreakMod:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872214&highlight=flash+amss
Get this reading done and then start tinkering, it'll save you a lot of head ache.
I used to freak out when my Streak would take longer than normal to boot or all of a sudden reboot or something like that.... Now I've learned enough to where I'm not scared to tinker and do about anything to it because I've learned how to get it back

I don't think rom manager works with the streak
MY phone is perfectly rooted, Superuser works etc.
However I cannot vet the clockwork recovery to boot in. I installed the 3E verification bypass for the new froyo 2.2 rom. WHen I go to reinstall packages it just keeps looping back to the stock recovery and not Clockwork. Any ideas what's going on>>

flashed clockwork through rom manager ??
Yes, it says 'Replacing stock recovery with ClockwordMod recovery" for a split second, then goes back to stock.
go to my noob guide and grab the update.zip there, don't use rom manager.
That's where I got it from.
okay, so why not odin to jfd as opposed to using the modified 3e?
you have to reinstall packages twice..... at least thats what I remember.

did you try what this handsome guy is saying???? Lol Reinstall packages.... it will kick you back to normal recovery... reinstall again.... it should throw you into CWM....for good!
I am trying to install DJ_Steve's 2.2.1 on my Dell streak using CWM. the phone has been rooted and I have the latest version of rom manager installed from the market place
Rom manager 4.3.3.0 clockworkmod recovery 2.5.0.7
however If i choose reboot into recovery the phone just reboots as normal, if i choose installed rom from SD card then select the zip and it asks the ROM preinstalation questions then i click ok and the phone reboots as normal.
phone is currently on 2.1 build 6941 which i think is an official one
Could someone please help me im obviously missing something here, Thanks
Yep, you are.
Neither Clockworkmod nor ROM Manager work properly, if at all on the Streak. Use Streakmod Recovery instead of Clockworkmod and don't install ROM Manager at all.
EDIT: In order to ensure Streakmod Recovery remains after a boot, you need to rename the file install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.sh.bak. Otherwise the Streak will flash the stock recovery on boot.
