If I recall correctly, the stock Vibrant firmware had simple music controls on the lockscreen. I love eugene's ROMs (nothing against sombionix's ROMs, just haven't tried 'em yet), but the two I've tried (Vibrant 9 & FrankenTwiz) don't, afaik, have lockscreen controls. I'm a lab rat, and I'm playing music most of the day, so this is a feature I really miss. I've tried Lithium and cubed, but the lockscreen behavior was weird I thought for both of them. Is there any way to get the stock music player, or whatever files were in the stock Vibrant f/w that allowed you to skip songs, etc on the lockscreen? Or, really, any way to get lockscreen music controls on the Vibrant w/o either using widgetlocker or reverting to stock f/w?

Hi,
My suggestion would be to use the one-click application here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=784500
to revert your phone to the default samsung "glass/puzzle" lockscreen instead of the AOSP 2.1 lockscreen (so far nobody has figured out how to merge the samsung lockscreen music controls into the stock AOSP lockscreen.)
Then grab MusicPlayer.apk from one of the many stock backups floating round, and adb push ~path_to_file /system/app
reboot, clear cache if necessary, and you should be back to normal.
Cheers,
=)

Restored the old android.policy.jar and pulled the musicplayer.apk from the Vibrant 4 ROM, adb-ed that over, works great, thanks so much.
Is there a way in CM7 to set different ringtones besides the default ringtone for contacts? I'd prefer to not use another app if possible, if not is there one? I'm running Slayher's RC0.3.
2 Question's Guy's, both refer to Slim ICS 3.8 (one more than the other)
1) Regarding using the Handcent messaging app. It seems I'm having an issue when I disable notifications in the stock messaging app and enable notification in Handcent. I get only 1 notification in the status bar as I should (just the Handcent) but there is no notification sound. The only way I seem to get notification sound is if I enable it in the stock messaging app. Thus resulting in dual notification lol.(figured I'd testify and notify)
2) My second question is about Google Music and the deauthorize/too many devices whole shenanigans! I'm sticking to Slim ICS itz friggin titz! but does anyone know if the updates count as "new ROMS" which seems to be the root problem. I tend to flash a lot of ROM's(NO WAY!) I'm on version 3.8 and I had to freeze the "update me" app cuz I got tired of seeing the lil green Android every 2minutes! I'm afraid to update, lol.
Neither Problem is life threatening and I'm happy with both Slim ICS and GooglePlay Music. Without either I would be but half a man. Any info is appreciated.
Cheers
When I got my Samsung Galaxy Light SGH-T399, I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have any sort of equalizer or preset sound profiles. The sound balance is actually pretty good, but it'd be nice if I could choose "Extra Bass" or something. There's no "Music Effects" setting in the settings. Music players have equalizers of course, but Pandora or Milk do not.
Well, I was poking around with Clean Master, looking at the system apps I can/can't uninstall, and I came across this MusicFX player equalizer (it's listed in the Application Manager too, just go to the All tab). However it's not listed in the app drawer.
Does anyone know how to enable it? Alternatively, can people recommend a global equalizer app that doesn't suck, and preferably doesn't leave an icon in the notification bar?
TIA.
In my opinion, the ringtones and notification on this are horrendous. I just want a series of fairly normal/inconspicuous sounds to choose from. The only reasonable sounds are the Hangouts sound and the Facebook "pop". The rest are an assortment of sounds that frankly just irritate me.
Now that my rant is over, can anyone think of a pack of notifications that I can download/extract to the phone, that are plain and generic?
Download the Zedge app.
I, personally, use the old Samsung whistle from my old S3.. That's just been "my" notification tone for the past 3 or 4 years. And I use a Doctor Who ringtone. Any .mp3 tone will work, Google search find you several too.
Have all the stock Android sounds you can ever want -- https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/base/+/master/data/sounds/
I think some of the built in ones are nice, but they aren't really good ringtones to me either.
