[Q] calendar as wallpaper - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi,
in june I seen app that could use current calendar as wallpaper. So I could see it all the time behind clockas, apps, etc .. but now when I got back to Android again, I just can't find it .. I don't remember the name of that app
does any one know any such app pls? Instead of some girl, black screen, etc .. I just want to see my calendar in week / day mode .. simply to have a view of all the upcoming appointments ..
I got X10 mini PRO
thx

i don't know of a calendar walpaper, but I use the Pure Calendar Widget and it works really well. You do need ADW Launcher for full functionality.

Calendar replacment

Hi,
I'm looking for a decent calendar replaced for the current boring default one
Any ideas?
My main gripe with it is that I can't click on the address to bring it up in a map
I use Jorte - not sure if it brings up maps from links but in every other aspect it's perfect for me - and having multi-sized widgets for weekly tasks etc is spot on for me.
I'll give it a try.
There are a lot of things wrong with the stock calendar, so atleast everything else will be better, I'll see if the map links work
Just tried it out... awesome
Links to maps work, this replaces 2 apps
is there anyway to use x10 mini pro version of calendar? because one of the annoying things in the x10 mini version is that it does not change orientation to landscape.. i dont have a x10 mini pro and dont know if the same happens on it
anyone?
the x10 mini pro calendar is crap
install the jorte calendar
it does landscape
Is it possible to use the Google Stock Calendar (same as the X10) on the X10 Mini Pro?
I couldnt work it out
Tried some but GeminiCalendar is the best for me.

Good streak widgets

Hi guys and gals
I'm thinking of making the change to dj steves streakdroid , but to try out the whole new desktop look I have been using adw launcher . Only problem is looking for cool big widgets to go on my now bare screens .
I'm after an email client like the one in honeycomb with the split screen view , to take advantage of our massive screens and a coole email widget to link to it.
A nice big weather widget , that does cool things like the htc sence one.
Scrollable fb widget would be good too, that I could possibly link to the fb for android app
Just really looking for apps that take advantage of horizontal screen orientation.
If anyone can point me in the right direction for these, id really appreciate it.
Thanks

The beautiful weather widget. And I guess the widgets that come with Launcher Pro Plus. Also Pandora and the MIUI music widget.
I don't really think 7 screens are needed so I only use 3. I found the folder organizer app allows me to create short cuts in the launcher for categories of apps. Like I have a short cut in the launcher that goes to the games label. One for utilities etc*
android agenda widget
email widget (fom invalidobject.com)
fancy widget
winamp

[Q] News and weather widget

Someone can tell me why news and weather app don't work on my wildfire? I install .apk and app crashes on start!!! Please give me a normal app! I'm using original FROYO 2.2.1!!!
Try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14247406#post14247406
Go Weather
I think that Go Weather widget from the Market is great for Wildfire!
Here is a screenshot of Go Weather 4x2 widget on my home screen
I use the free Scrollable News Widget, and it's one of the best news widgets I've tried, even better than the native HTC one.
may be you need to reset factory settings on your phone. or better install another rom if possible.
Attached, it works perfectly for me on stock 2.2.1. I had the same problem but then I found another version somewhere here.

calendar widget

Anybody else upset that it doesn't come with one ? Any suggestions for alternatives?
Really depends on what info you want to see but I use Simple Calendar myself.

I used Simple Calendar in the past. But now I use the Today widget that comes with the phone.
I'm a big fan of the Pure Calendar, it's a pay for app.
i really like the LauncherPro calendar widget...
I like the business calendar widget, can take up a full page on the home screen if you want it to

I went and installed the TouchWiz 4.5 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061883 and it works flawlessly. It has the Calendar widget as well as some really cool features not found in TW4. I highly recommend this for someone wanting a near stock TW experience with some really functional tweaks.

+1 for the business calendar widget, or there is also android agenda widget, which is pretty customizable, and will also scroll if the launcher you are using supports that....
If you just want a list of upcoming appointments, Agenda Widget is awesome. Very customizable, though it takes some work to get it just the way you want. In just a 4x1 space on my screen I can see my next 4 appointments, with little bullets next to them telling me which calendar they are from.

Eh? Am I missing some detail about this question? My device has 2 calendar widgets pre-installed: Agenda and Today. Agenda takes up most of a home screen and scrolls to display lots of calendar appts; Today just shows the current/next appt for the current day.
is there really no month view calendar widget for tw launcher that links up with google calendar?
i have tried go launcher ex and the calendar widget on that is perfect, but i want to run tw launcher instead.
i dont want to add agenda or today widget because i want a month view. any suggestions?

This is a list of bloatware removed from the Cognition ROM:
http://ponack.net/designgears/Cognition777/removed/
The TwCalendarAppWidget.apk listed there has a month view. I believe it's from the Euro SGS2 version of Touchwi but not sure. Anyway, replace the corresponding app on your phone with the one from the link. Worked for me on UnNamed 1.3.1.
Attachment so you can see what it looks like. Not bad.
thanks!
do you know which folder it goes in?
is is possible to theme?
/system/app
same one as your current TwCalendarAppWidget.apk should be in. It should be possible to theme using all the normal tools, apk manager etc.
EDIT: OK, now you got me curious. I was able to decompile, edit some XML and recompile without problems, so yes, I'd say it definitely is possible to theme it. FWIW, I changed the first day of the week to Sun (normally Mon.). I might do a full flashable mod with different themes and what not. But it will take me at least a week b/c I am busy with stuff. No promises!
EDIT 2: Oh, never mind, my changes were superficial. All I did was change the day of the week label, not the display of the widget. Still a good project. Not sure at this point if it is above my head...
EDIT 3: Ok, now this is just getting embarrassing. Using the apk I linked to, all you have to do it go into the Touchwiz Calendar app, go to preferences, and set your First day of the week preference. Widget should reflect this change, otherwise, delete and re-add widget and it should be there!
I SWORE I tried this before and it didn't work.

Pure Grid Calendar is absolutely gorgeous. I have a month view on my lock screen and a week view 4x4 on one of my homescreens.
It pulls from multiple google calendars and displays duration bars corresponding to your events.
Simply stunning. Hands-down one of my best app purchases.

[Q] Timescape Facebook widget 4x4

Hello Everyone
I just recently migrated from my old HTC Hero to brand new Xperia U.
Everything is fine and dandy, but I just can't live with standard Timescape Facebook widget. It is too small (2x4 icon).
I looked for a bigger (4x4) version, but I failed to find it.
Are there any modified Timescape widgets I failed to find ?
I managed to find 3x4 agenda widget that wasn't installed by default, and it's great.
I hope that someone could help me with my problem, as I wouldn't want to install any addisional software.
Thanks !
