So before I upgraded to 2.1 i had a larger amount of keyboard options which have essentially vanished.
I had it set up so when i would type in things the keyboard would only cover half of the screen witch allowed me to see the text being entered into the field. now the keyboard covers the whole screen and i don't like that.
Is my only option to revert back to 1.6? or is there an x10 2.1 generic firmware which would allow me to keep the orignal slide lock too as i don't like the blue one that moves horizontally.
thanks for the help.

Came across this registry hack that allows you to undock your SIP works on all screens not sure if anyone would use it but pretty neat all the same
Of course I take no responsobility for what you do to your phone so edit your registry with this warning. BE CAREFUL BACK IT UP
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\SIP and change the value of Dragstyle from 0 to 1. This can work on Keyboard, Transcriber, Block Recognizer, Letter Recognizer, etc.
On my Touch Pro it ads a black bar above the keyboard onscreen not sure why everything else works as it should T9 etc
Change back to 0 if you want to go to default behavior. Also you need a soft reset to get this to work
MODS can you please move this to the appropriate section sorry clicked the wrong forum header
Screen shot?
The Phone icon on the dock opens either the Keypad or the Logs, whatever we had opened/left previously. Wouldn't it be better if the Phone icon always opened the Keypad no matter even if our last view was of the Logs?
Is there any mod available for this?
I found this to be the case with all the firmwares I've flashed. Funny thing is on the stock UGKG2 firmware it didn't so I'm not sure if it's because the firmwares are leaked or if Bell made some specific changes to the Rom. Now I'm curious..
This was modded as default in Lite'ning 6.1 too. Hope this is added in LeoMar75's Kitchen.
Thanks to JKay's settings, part of my problem is solved. Now I can set up the lock screen to directly open on the Keypad screen for that quick dialing. It is so much convenient if you can reach the Dial screen in just a couple of moves.
Though yet to figure out a solution for the original post.
I've noticed that when I'm using the on-screen virtual keyboard in landscape mode, with the phone held either straight up and down or overhead (when lying on my back), pressing some of the keys on the far left side pull down the status bar rather than giving me the letter, character, etc. that I'm pressing. Instead, they cause the status bar to drop down and display status messages.
The most common letter at fault is A. The shift key also does this sometimes.
I have to tilt the phone such that the display is pointing slightly upwards rather than being straight on in order to get the A key to work.
It happens when composing SMS messages, Facebook entries, forum entries via any web browser (stock, Dolphin, Boat, Miren): any time i'm using the soft keyboard in landscape mode with the phone held perpendicular to the floor or tilted so the display is facing slightly downward.
I first noticed this on my Samsung Galaxy Ace when it still had the stock Froyo on it, and I got the same problems with stock Gingerbread, CodeROM, VillainROM and others. Now I own a Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro with its stock Gingerbread and I have the same problem on it, so it seems to be a generic Android issue, but ?? Is anyone else having this issue?
I installed v1.8 of Shostock3 this morning -- did a full, wipe coming from v1.7. All seemed to be fine until I got a text. When I tapped to type, a new keyboard popped up -- one that I don't recognize. It's kind of a floating keyboard with a tab at the top that allows you to move it around. Unfortunately, the keyboard takes up a lot of screen real estate so it usually covers the input box so you can't see what you're typing. Also, the sym/123 keyboard is really different -- it doesnt show the numbers at all and has really big keys with symbols on them. Can anyone tell me what I have done to get this new keyboard? Is it an upgrade in 1.8? Is there anyway to go back to the one I had in 1.7? I have searched -- seems I'm the only lucky one with this keyboard? Any help would be appreciated.

No problems here with 1.8 keyboard. Long press settings button on the keyboard and u will see an option to "dock" it

That's what I needed -- thanks!
Hi, is there a way to move the screens around without having to move all the icons one by one? It seems when you add the screen it puts it at the end and it is a pain in the neck to insert it somewhere in the middle. My phone is not rooted and I don't want to use a different launcher.
Also, is there a way to set the background to pan as you go from screen to screen?
Thanks...
