[q] hd7 tmobile tv on tmobile hd2 - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to extract the TMOBILE TV app from the HD7 and made to work on the TMOBILE HD2. if so, can someone cab it up for us, as the MOBITV app is so unattractive.

HD7 uses a completely different operating system, which is not compatible with WM6.5 in any way.
Thus, sorry but I don't think it can be done - at least without extreme effort.

what about reskinning the mobitv app, is that possible? and if so, can it ber made to look like the tmobile tv app?

Phone upgrade suggestions?

I currently have a TMobile Pocket pc phone edition that i recently installed the WM2003 upgrade on, i love it.
Now i hear that there are XDA2 devices out, which sound like better, faster devices. I asked TMobile, and they say that as long as the phone supports GSM 1900 and can be unlocked to use any SIM card, switching phones is a piece of cake.
So i guess my question is, has anyone tried this? I would like to get a O2 XDA2 over the M1000. Has anyone gotten them to work on the TMobile network here in the USA? I'd hate to spend the money on the device and not have it work. Or would it be better if i wait for some (needed?) ROM upgrades?
Thanks a lot =)
Edit: Okay so i didnt type in the right keywords into google the first time. User review here basically answers all my questions:

tmobile uk users recommend a rom

I'm pretty confident that I can upgrade my tmobile vario rom following the great instructions provided by forum members! the main question I hqve is do any tmobile uk owners have any recommendations on what rom to upload to? I'm fed up with all the bugs in this handset!
For now I'm using the HTC 1.35.255.2 (AKU2.3) ROM
I tried the HTC 2.05.255.1 (AKU3.3) ROM, but there were a couple of little things that didn't work - Windows Media Player wouldn't stream anything for example.
As a T-Mobile UK user who lives and works in London, it was nice to see the little "U" at the top of the screen turn into a little "H" with the AKU3.3 Rom, but I'm waiting for a final release with the bugs ironed out before I go back to AKU3.3.
I've had some irritating issues with my T-Mobile UK Vario II as well.
After I did a hard-reset and the T-mobile crap installed intself I can't for the life of me get the internet explorer to browse over Wi-Fi (even though I can connect to the router just fine).
What is the latest (or best) official t-mobile rom and where do I get it? (the wiki directs me to a blackberry download page).
there is no t-mobile uk rom at present, i am waiting for one myself, after already sending my device back once and getting a replacement as kept dropping calls, and bluetooth is utter rubbish on this device at present. Major problems with bluetooth car kit and this device.people not hearing me speak or in spits and spurts.
I am currently runnning the test aku 3.3 2.05 rom, which is far better than any of the others that i have tried. the 1.35 is also a lot better than the standard t-mobile rom.
my advice is either go for the 1.35 or the test 2.05 rom. you will notice the differnce immediately over the normal rom.
Hopefully it wont be long now before an official rom gets released by T-Mobile. They are seriously dragging there heals on this.
T-Mobile_UK_Vario_2_ExtROM_WWE.zip
I uploaded this on to to my unlocked HTC TyTN (AKU 2.3), as I'm a T-Mobile USA subscriber & miss two of the MDA (wizard) ExtRom apps -
a. the sign in for TMobile (accesses the secure tmobile1x with a protcol that is not in 2.3 (AKU 2.3), and
b. a TMobile push for pop3 email on their My T-mobile service.
I also cannot send or receive MMS and hoped it might help with that.
It did not add either tool, nor make MMS worked and it stopped the Exchange 2003 push working. It really only adds meta icons for tools already present and a camera patch (not sure if needed).
The other Wizard apps - Instant Messaging and t-zones are available elsewhere.
I flashed it back to the HTC ExtROM & my MS Exchange push works again.
Thanks to the excellent help on this site that I could do this and go back.
Main reason for the post tho is to explain the content & post a warning about the Exchange push.
Do you guys using the original rom also have networking troubles with msn messenger?
Just sits there attempting to sign in?
I also had this on my mda pro and wondered if it was a rom problem or a t mobile specific thing
i think messenger is just slow not sure if the latest version messenger live rectifies these problems! does rom 2.5 rectify the tmobile 3g issue?
T-mobile Rom
Hi
I too am having issues with the t-mobile rom. Historically, T-mobile are always amoung the last to fix their bugs. They were very very slow on the universal.
I also really do wonder why operators see fit to include loads of operator branded [email protected] that no one wants!
I have unlocked my device using Pof's unlocker and installed radio 1.27. I mainly use my device on the train with a laptop via bluetooth. Thus far, I am finding that the 1.27 rom is worse than the 1.06 rom. Data does not keep moving as well as before, and I have more black spots on my commute.
I dont have the time, patience or nerve to chop and change roms too often, so I will wait for a AKU3.3 english official rom that has streaming etc working correctly before I upgrade.
I'd love for t-mobile to release on officially, but I doubt this will happen any time soon.
My main issues are with bluetooth and MMS. Bluetooth disconnects and disables itsself randomly (bloody anoying!). MMS does not appear to work unless you install all the t-mobile crap. I tried to install it by cherry picking from the cabs, but unless I install them all then the MMS folders in outlook dissapear on a soft reset.
The device also has a habit of deleting the t-mobile internet settings for the hell of it.
My universal was like this at first, until I shoved a Qtek rom on it instead.

cdma to gsm (and other options for USA to Australia)

im going to be in australia for the next few months, and im looking into what phone im going to use there.
Its tough, because ive grown attached to having all the toys on my verizon xv6800, and dont want to go back to a standard phone.
Is it at all possible to get my titan to work on an Australian network? if not, can anyone point me in the direction of some information about other international phone options?
if anyone on here is from australia please let me know, i'd love to get in touch and get whatever information i can about plans and other info.
im open to any suggestions or other options for what i can do about a useful phone in australia.
Thanks alot
Entirely different radio and chip structures
well, you can always use your xv6800 just not to make calls. WiFi and GPS would work, you'd have no cell signal.
So, I suggest carrying 2 devices or searching online or picking up a GSM HTC smart phone. The Tilt/Kaiser Raphael (Touch Pro GSM) and the Blackstone / Touch HD and so many more cooler new devices will work in Australlia. However, some of those things are costly and you could natively use an older HTC phone.
You could buy an unlocked phone and just put a sim in there when you arrive.
The 2 main questions are what do you want to spend on a phone and will you rely on a data connection other than wifi?
I thought there was native CDMA coverage in australia? Or is it only new zealand? I would agree an ebayed tilt unlocked and a prepaid sim would probably be the best route.

[Q] htc one factory apps on max? plus another question

So I noticed that there are some oem app differences between the two devices, mainly missing is the htc flashlight. I know there are other options but just wondering if anyone had ported this out other missing apps into one of their roms?
Another question is that I am wondering if anyone has tried using this on t mobile yet? I have the smaller htc one as well on tmo but want to swap my Verizon one max to it, however I was thinking that a tmo based rom port from the htc one would be ideal with tmo apps as well. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks
Here are the stock apps that you may miss - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48759137
No idea about TMobile
I have the Verizon max. I ran it for a day in the T-Mobile network. It still have the Verizon rom "venom'. I had 3g & hspa + but text, call & data work.

[Q] Transferring pre-loaded themes ?

I have a Huawei M835 ((it uses Froyo 2.2)) Tokidoki Edition (same as regular version but comes with unique camera/photo edit features and special Tokidoki themes) which is CDMA (on Metro PCS.) Someone just told me their CDMA network will be dead this year or next and my phone will be useless, which is pretty much the most heartbreaking thing to me. I don't know how to unlock it to switch to Verizon, but that would be my first choice solution if anyone knows how to go about doing that.
My second choice: I'm 99% certain the Huawei M835 was also on GSM networks (in non-Tokidoki edition of course) so my plan is to buy one of those on ebay and swap the plastic shells since I don't know how to make CDMA phones read GSM SIMs. So my question for solution 2 is in regards to the pre-loads on the Tokidoki edition. I want to know if there is anyway to root and copy those themes (and the camera features if possible, but I would be thrilled with just the themes) to the non-Tokidoki GSM phone.
I'm sorry if this is all nonsense rambles, but I am phone-stupid and only a little computer savvy. Thanks for your time and I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place or wrong site all together.
