i got notification that new 2.1 is availible (finnaly).. so i updated via pc companion, and after update i still got firmware 1.6... it looks like phone is just master reseted..
Any suggestions, how to solve problem?
Hi - What is the country and brand of your handset?
Try downloading SEUS from the SE website and use that.. depending on your settings within PCC it may not have downloaded the new firmware database.

hey i have rogers factory unlocked x10a. i am in india.. i want the latest firmware update. i have this R1FA014 BASEBAND VERSION 1.0.14. WHEN I TRY TO UPDATE THROUGH seus or companion it says ur phone is update.. repairing with companion also fails in btw.as i cant repare so there is no update service folder in program data. so someone please so that i can update to latest firmware and also whenever the android 2.1 comes..

You'll have to wait or debrand to the Nordic FW.
I use that guide to install the nordic fw already, when i run SEUS, i still get the message saying i already have the newest fw
I flashed my x10 to android 2.1. After doing that when i connect my phone and use Sony's PC Companion software then the software brings up a message which says "there is an update available" and asks for me to update. I am on AT&T in USA and i know that AT&T has not released any 2.1 update for x10 yet. So what update is PC companion giving me???
Any ideas????
is you phonw branded?
have you used MT toolkit??
maybe any of those are the reasons, also in which fw are you?
why don't you try updating it?

Once you flash to 2.1 you are not affected by ATT update releases. That update is just to remove root. Hopefully you haven't updated already
Also, use the SEARCH button

I believe it's a false alarm, you won't get the MT.
it was not a false alarm for me. I got multi touch on my phone after i ran the update. Now my phone shows 2.1.A.0.435...

dou you got official dt from SEUS, on with firmware have you been before ? is it nordic or what ?
I got an official update notification on my phone.... i had flashed my phone to world generic firmware...

Flash your phone via sony ericsson update service, your phone updated to android 2.1, baseband ...015.
Only way is with flashtool, but you need the android 1.6 .sin or .ftf files and i don't know where to get those.
I won't believe that they only take it back in version 1.6. version 2.1 is an official release and thus they should take it back for warranty issues.

Hi..and thx for replay.
The problem is that my phone haven't update from SEUS.
I try more times to flash from v1.6 and SEUS said that I have the last version on my phone (in my country).
I read om few forums that people complain that SE won't make update for our country and they have not courage to flash with other ROM because of warranty..
Because of that I looking for this version of ROM!
I have a backup of this version but no way to install it back because of Xrecovery version. I made it with lower ver than v0.3 and now everytime I restore it back it stayed on Sonyericsson logo.
Its not a update and were not talking about pc companion we are talking about se update centrer ,,,its diferent it works every ware on all sony phones check it out again

I know that we talking about SEUS update center..Who mentioned PC Companion?
Now when I broke up my warranty, a I can to upgrade to 2.1.1.A.06 from any version!
But with version 1.6 (I tried once mounht ago) I can not!
As as mentioned in post above, I found lot of post from serbian forum where people complain the SEUS updater have not newer version for our country!
When you try to update it comes the message from SEUS: You have the latest version!
As the topic says...
For some reason when i open PC companion it says that i dont need any update and if i use reinstall function it installs me 2.1.1.A.0.6

Pc companion or SEUS can be terrible if your mobile phone provider hasnt given the all clear for the software update. Sadly some havent, mine reverts to 1.6 (donut) if I use PC Companion so I doubt the phone provider ever will! (my provider states its Sony Ericsson and Sony state its the phone provider - complete non responsibility). The only option is to trawl xda forums for links and flash using flashtool. Hopefully someone will provide a link..
I understand that and here is a funny thing...
some months ago i was only getting 2.1.1.C.0.0 via SEUS or PC Companion till i flashed to older version so i could install gingerbread
And a funny thing, i tried to resintall software thro SEUS and PC Companion few times and all was older 2.1.1.A.0.6 but not only that, every time Keyboard layout was different
Now i have Azerty keyboard instead Qwertz or Qwerty
