previously i debranded my mobile with Uk genric version because i had no market application
now i found my SI number on back 1236-7393 i used build.prop (editing 1237-0392 with 1236-7393) method but my SEUS updated the same uk software even after deleting the firmware from db folder
after that i again edited the build.prop and placed 1240-7642 and updated. now my mobile says customization 1240-7642_R3A
my phone back sticker says SI is 1236-7393
how do i confirm that i have re-branded my mobile

Wanted to ask,
I have 2.1, using nordic build.prop method, and now the 2.1 generic UK update has been released so is it possible to replace the nordic build.prop with a generic 1.6/2.1 build.prop so it updates my phone to the UK's firmware,
any help will be appreciated

I already try to restore my original 1.6 build.prop for have the 2.1 FR firmware, but it doesn't work : after restore, the build.prop is the same as 2.1 Nordic

Yeah, because if you check in the build.prop, it's the same "version fs" : World 1-8 but not the same product name : E10i_1236-9436 for my 1.6 ROM and E10i_1238-0549 for 2.1

First, you should check your old 1.6 and new 2.1 build.prop and compare the ro.semc.version.fs value (for me it's world-1-8)
If it's not the same, then replace your actual (2.1 nordic) build.prop by your 1.6 india. Then restore with SEUS

In my case, both says WORLD-1-2-5, I have upgraded from 1.6 to 2.1 using a Brasilian build.prop, now in Argentina 2.1 has been released, last night I tried to change the firmware using the OLD build.prop and it doesn't work. So I GUESS i need a updated argentinian's 2.1 build prop... again I GUESS.
What you guys can try is -
Restore your original 1.6 build.prop, (Or just change product.name, all three instances) save it and shutdown the phone (remember do not switch it on, you will stuck on SE logo forever)
Go to Sony ericsson>update service>db>some_number>blob_fs folder and delete all the files (or cut-paste them somewhere else)
Connect your phone to update service and force repair.. You will hopefully get back to your original version.
I restored my phone to original version through this method... Hopefully it will work for you too..
I'd like to change my model number displayed from X10i to X10a for future firmware updates through SEUS. I installed a custom theme package onto my Branded (x10a) firmware, and it changed the model number to x10i.
As I understand, you can modify the /system/build.prop file, but I seem to remember seeing a specific "ro.product.name=" and/or "ro.build.fingerprint=" values that apply to the x10a. I've looked, but was unable to find the information.
Can anyone please direct me to this information? Thanks.

I'm root the phone through generic .058 and updated to .062 that is again generic. I'm looking for the greek stock firmware or a way to change the region to greek, in order to take greek updates and/or have a way to fully restore the phone to the initial state. I can't find something, but only the generic .058 firmware. Is there is any list with the variants of the LWW Wt19i? Thanks in advance.

Use root explorer and edit /system/build.prop to match your SI
With Greek (at least) firmware you can send sms with 160 characters, with world not. I've tried to change si but the option was not there

My phone is a Nordic Generic phone. But I did install the Norwegian Generic rom to it, but becuase this is a Telenor branded one I want to go back to the Nordic one.
Tried changing the build.prop file to trick SEUS to download the Nordic firmware but it just throws me a error about my firmware being customized before it starts downloading the firmware.
Does anyone know how to trick SEUS or maybe know of any Nordic firmware (1257-6087) to download? Old or new doesn't madder..

I know I could do that. But I want to have the Nordic one just in case I need to send in my phone for service.
A couple of years ago when I used the SE X10 Mini I just changed the build.prop file to change firmware/branding.
Is this possible somehow with Xperia S?
After some testing it seams like the Nordic Generic (1257-6087) firmware does not exist..
I now have the Norway Generic (1257-8821) on my phone. When I tried changing build.prop and cust.prop to match 1257-6087 PCC would always turn off and check my phone before downloading any firmware. But when I change them to match the Swedish Generic (1257-6919) it downloads the firmware to blob_fs before checking the phone, it does complain and does not update the phone but since the files have been downloaded I can update it with flashtool.
My SI number is 1257-6087 but it does not seam to be any firmware with that customization number.. strange..
I have the 32GB Wifi SGP512 and I've flashed several different FTF images onto it since getting it. Unfortunately, I was an idiot and didn't record the customisation number first.I'm currently running the 17.1.2.A.0.314 1281.9080 firmware. On the label on the outside of the box, It says "SI 1281-3019.2" - but when I changed the device to that in the build.prop sony PC Companion refused to search for updates.
Could someone who also has a SGP512 32GB Wifi in the UK that didn't buy it from O2 etc please tell me their customisation number? You can access it by installing ExDialer and dial *#*#7378423#*#*. Then, look for the value of "Customization Version".
