Have you tries SEUS again? Give it several tries. You could also try a factory reset of all data to see if the SIMLOCK changes back.

Hi All,
my brother just got an Xperia X10 (without warranty) two days back, and it's been restarting itself over and over again sometimes.. sometimes it simply does not charge, and sometimes sim goes un-detected leaving "activating phone" on the screen.. whenever i re-install the os, the problem goes off for few hours then it comes back again. It has the R2BA020 update and whenever i run sony erricson update service, it shows me as the phone has the latest firmware so i always have to stick with R2BA020 firmware. I am thinking may be an upgrade to the phone might solve the issue with the phone. But i'm being unable to upgrade to any firmware like R2BA023 or R2BA026. I know R2BA026 has a wifi issue.. but at least 3G works and phone works..
Any help anyone? Thanks.
Sounds like it is the phone that is the problem and not the firmware revision. I and many others here are on R2BA020 with no issues.
You say that you have done a reinstall of this, was it the repair installation through PC Companion or SEUS? Later FW releases are only available if the network releases it or if you are rooted and dependent on what Firmware you rooted with (Generic, Combi, etc... and from what country).
for the phone faults i would try a new/different sim card first.
what network is the phone on ? is it branded ? your network might not of released the latest updates yet
why does it have no warranty ? SE offer a 1 years manufacturer warranty that goes off the serial no
If you're on Rogers I believe that was the latest (and first) firmware update. You won't be getting an updated version if that's the case.
It's bricked now
Hey Guys,
Sorry for the late reply. I was expecting to have email alerts if someone replies, but i had forgotten to enable email notifications apperently.
Whenever I got that problem, I used to re-install the firmware and then it works for a day or maximum two. but couple of days back, phone just went down while using it and when i tried to repeat the firmware re-install process, either SEUS nor PC companion detects my phone version. "It says device could not be identified. try again later". I tried to root the device and it fails with this error.

This is not a branded phone. I bought this device from someone returned from UK and he got this from T-Mobile UK. (at least thats what he said).
Code:
why does it have no warranty ? SE offer a 1 years manufacturer warranty that goes off the serial no
do you mean i have the warranty despite the fact that i'm not using it with t-mobile and i'm not the original owner?
any suggestion to unbrick this device is highly appreciated.

The warranty is country specific I have found. Contact sony of canada and se if they will foot the bill, otherwise you will need to ship it to the UK for service I am afraid. Is it a Xperia x10i ?

My father in law in visiting has an X10i (on 1.6) that he purchased from the Middle East. I've been trying to update through SEUS and no luck; it keeps saying that I have the latest software.
Questions:
1. Is the 2.1 update available for all X10i? or not yet all?
2. How can I check the phones region?
3. Should I update using one of the decrypted roms in the forum? if yes then can someone who's done recommend one please?
Thank you so much in advance.
first on the lock screen press ( Menu, Back, back, menu, back, menu, menu, back )
then service info>Software info>
then you can see which software you got in your phone, if it says World Generic then it means that you should get the update.
My X10i is from the Middle East and my region was world generic, so I managed to get the update.
Tip: sometimes the SEUS says that you have the latest software (1.6) but when clicking on re-install it will install the device to 2.1 update
Thanks for the response. I did the the menu back thing, and it shows that my software is "Generic" not "world generic". I did a search for update on SEUS and SE PC Companion and still nothing, then I did a repair and it downloaded 1.6 again.
How can I update to 2.1?
Anyone? this is my soft v 1227-4612_r2ba026 generic
I've got the same code as you and have had no luck with SEUS or PC Companion.
I have repaired or installed with both Friday and Saturday and I just get 1.6 re-installed.
i have flashed my at&t x10a into Nordic generic and i still cant get it to update to 2.1
I am in Virginia, US. Software Update still does not find Android 2.1. I am still on 1.6.

hi.
When I bought this phone it was running v1.6 locked to rogers after unlocking it from rogers I was using it for FIDO and it was working fine, but after updating(updated by Sony Ericsson PC companion ) it to V2.3.3 now the phone doesnt read my simcard and keeps rebooting ,I tried it without simcard it didnt do any rebooting ..
So, any help?
Just reflash it back to 2.1 and check first.. if it works... flash up to 2.3 and check...
while I was waiting for help I tried a friends simcard which was newer (than mine ,mine is 3 yrs old) and it worked will ,so I bought another new simcard and phone read it and working fine for past 2 hrs ,I will post if it starts acting again .
Thanks for ur time
hi Xda modders. has anyone seen this problem
sorry for posting hear but its Generally stating to crush my spirit
After a week of Fails and trying almost everything i've hit a wall tying to unblock my X10 mini pro. model is a u20i with [x] Network (0) tries on tesco sim.
I've tried root and xrecovery to a CF rom that failed me and it was all done correct.
all i got was updated firmware and no unblock.
I've also tried bootloader flash that also failed me, that was done correct aswell. so flashed back to factory default.
Tried the cable unlock and nothing.
Tried Seus/PC companion to change to a generic UK x10I and all that did was update back to what i was using after i changed the 2 files and all SEus did was redownload and reapply the firmware. doing nothing at all.
Please guys /gals its starting to drive me mad and as for tesco IT support well.... this may be my first post but your info hasen't failed me on my other phones.
I have tried everything, I relock the bootloader and it has turned a capital R, I tried to install backups, I tried to reinstall the original seus.
and nothing. I still have the cell phone signal!

I think this is important:
whenever I get the start menu choose the language (so I have chosen before) and also whenever I get "insert sim card and restart the phone"

Maybe ur simlock got reinstalled.. spyderX had warned of this in his guide here maybe u can try to use setool2 to re-sim-unlock your phone???
Simlock sucks!!!
as it will hurt my pocket money, but good.
I have to re-pass the setool2 with bootloader unlocked already?
or if not, I can use another method of release, or has to be the setool2 mandatory?
Thanks for resolving my doubts.

I try to follow what I wanted to do: Install DX nakernel ginger.
but it still did not work and return it to the officer, and I do not work ....
Right now I have left is to test again for setool2 fun ... if that does not fix it do not know what else to do. Here in Colombia, the service technician's own cell phone companies is not be very good to say
hello, I could have power again
but I returned to block the bootloader.
may be that you unlock? without losing the signal again?
I have similar problem:
I have applied the MiniCM7-2.1.1 on my unlocked phone. Everything went fine but the signal has been lost.
The phone stills finds the network carriers in my country.
But when I try to choose the one I use, it says registering network and just after that "SIM does not allow conection to the network".
I've tried two different SIM form different carriers (I purchased an unlocked phone) with the same results
After MiniCM7-2.1.1 It was working OK
Now I've tried to SEUS and it went back succesfully to stock 2.1
But The signal problem persists.
Could you please advise / help??
Firmware 2.1-update1
Baseband the one ending 4015
Kernel 2.6.29
[email protected]#1
Compilation 2.1.1.A.0.6
i didnt bought the cellphone unlock, was released by setool2 and the solution was to move the backup you had made the program.
persisted bootloader lock!
I can do, be that doing the process from the stock 2.1 will now leave you?
