Reflash
I have a Telstra X10a and got sick of waiting for the upgrade to come up.
So originally went to X10i. Then upgraded to Rogers 2.1 firmware for the X10a.
For me, weird things were happening like clicking call button on one person in the call log and a random person would be called or receiving calls from people 'returning' my call even though I had not called them.
For me, the only thing that's fixed it has been a total reflash and no restore. I've tried Rogers X10a as well as Generic X10a.
Things seem to be fine for now. However, still waiting on Telstra's official X10a upgrade and only then will I feel totally at ease with 2.1
So far been a hit 'n a miss. Sorry this post doesn't help much but thought I'd let you know you're not alone. Weird $hit happens on the X10a and a clean reflash seems to fix it.
i have tryed flashing about 5 times, still no luck
Try resetting your password... Worked on my friends mini after doing that
try uninstalling the updates...
Settings>applications>Manage>Market>Uninstall updates, and clear the cache too, from the same place.

Lol, I travel through time as well on occasion
Yes, mine will do it randomly - can't replicate it, but it does always seem like its in the morning (probably because it makes me think i'm running late!) A soft reset fixes, but it is frustrating... NEVER had a phone or electronic device do that to me in the past. I'm on stock ATT 1.6.
it happened when i was with 1.6, i hope it won't happen in 2.2, anyway it's going ahead rather being behind ...

I'm on 2.1 and it happens to me, not often but too much for my liking, restarting the device seems to sort everything out, hopefully this is fixed on froyo.
do you guys have your network visibility on or off?

Thank you my friend, i hope it's working if not i don't know what to do, i was thinkin to format the internal card and then resoft the phone, becase i tried clear cache and dalvik did also a dell reset but the problem persist, i even change the software to gingerbread then to [ROM] Streakin' 354v1.1 and the problem persist.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Hey guys, I've been having issues with my X10a's data connection. Tried the latest Wolf's gingerbread, and of course flashing down to a generic 2.1 which does seem a bit more stable on the connection but I'm hoping I can figure out the issue completely.
Basically, when the radio initiates a data connection the handset has a good chance of freezing up and plopping itself into a nasty little reboot. Now I've tried up and down flashes like I said, tried a new battery, SD cards and I'll probably resort to buying a new sim to test with to rule that last bit out too. Any help would really be appreciated. Here's some current info.
*Wireless seems to work just fine
*can make calls send texts
Carrier AT&T
Android Ver. 2.3.3
Baseband Ver. 2.1.71
Kernel: 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537
Thanks in advance for any help guys.
Maybe this can help:
Via recovery:
Wipe dalvik cache
advanced options-fix permissions.
greets
Tried it a couple times but it Didn't seem to help any unfortunately, thanks anyway.
Edit: I've set my phone to not use Data on the phone radio for the time being so I can still at least use wifi which seems to be doing just fine Calls work and text messaging works just fine too bizarrely enough. Another thing I'd like to note is that One dump log (that I unfortunately lost) from when I was testing to make sure it wasn't a heat issue both times seemed to point to some possible networking related aspect, NPARTS? or the like with some other stuff.

Added, any help is always appreciated, it's a bit weird how this issue is slowly starting to surface for multiple people at once.
Why add GTalk instead post it here so everybody can solve if it happens to them.

cuz im not the expert @@
im afraid of making mistake as well?
so yeah, better in conversation but i got my phone work after 2 days of flashing back and forth @@
but anyway... will see how it go with the person i just helped, if it goes well then i ll start, if not then idk... will figure something out
Well, no luck with any 2.3.3 based android unfortunately so I down flashed to a 10a 2.1 build and that seems to run just fine as far as the radio is concerned, in the end I think there's just so many factors to muddle through hardware wise cables, sims, batteries yada-yada that i'll take this turn of fortune and wait to see if SE ever releases anything 10a specific on the assumption there may be an off chance it addresses some rare little quirk a few others and myself seem to have.
Sounds similar to my problem, maybe same solution... Every time phone is on charger and network is used, phone automatically rebooted after a little while. For me, this was same on all WB GB roms until now. But now, I am typing this and browsing XDA while charging and its not rebooting. I cant give you a guarantee but maybe phone just needs time to settle? Its been preyty good to me for a while now.
flash the phone in the weekend and leave it alone for like half a day or something^^
i leave it overnight and surprisingly wake up and see the phone is on without any lose of battery ( well, 1or 2% ) ^^!
Just an update on my progress. I was playing around with the phone last night, and had managed to get it to the stage of having the 2.3 update but without a sim. I charged it to 100% and then attempted to put in the sim card. It didn't like that very much and instead of going through the restart loop, it just would not turn on.
I flashed it back to 2.1 and i it worked again. Then i flashed it to 2.3 and it wouldn't turn on again. Flashed it back to 2.1 and gave up for the night.
This morning, i tried to put in the sim card in 2.1 and it worked!
I think on my next days off, (in 2 days) i will try and flash it to 2.3 and see what happens.
In reference to the posibility of a hardware issue, i did not smell any burning The phone has been running all night and the battery is not hot at all. In fact it is cold. It could still be a hardware issue, but I'm not getting any of the issues described in that thread mentioned execpt the restarting.
Yeah, it's seeming like our phones are in a little "Does not like 2.3" minority If I could decipher the hardware version stuff under the battery maybe that would offer some more clues up.

Yeah, i'll take a picture of the the specs and post it up here in the next few days.
srsly guys... u need more than a day to flashing around to get it working.. especially the BB + kernel... as far as i can remember... because mine is x10a... i flashed the 2.1 generic FW and i have BB54... then i root + install xrecovery...
then i flash the 2.3 ftf via flashtool using the flashtool mentioned in Doomlord rooting method section ( because the xrecovery only working if u install through that version)
after flash, i leave it all night ( well because i felt to sleep while the phone still booting) in the morning i wake up and there it is... battery is nearly as full and phone running great with signal
then i root the phone via doomlord method + install xrecovery... then leave the phone for a while see if any reboot--- but none
so i start flash via xrecovery wolf's version... firstly on 3.5.... nothign else and leave it for half a day....
Yeah, that's what i plan on trying. The method of leaving it for a while after you have done something worked for my sim card issue.
do it on weekend yeah? or else u gonna get bored because otw to work the x10 keep rebooting =))
I use xperia x10a japanese docomo base. And i have the same problem
Any gingerbread rom get into boot loop once i insert my sim card. Without sim, it just works fine. What might be the problem, and how to fix it?
So far so good
I can confirm a very slow and steady pace works the best, Running Wolf's now and it seems stable so far, I'll keep an eye on it and give you guys an update in a while.
it will be fine.. just let it run without flashing anything ^^!
for a while
I have checked the forum and no thread had the fix I am looking for. I have K13 flashed on my phone and it was working great for over a week, but now all of a sudden today it stopped connecting to rogers. I have the correct internet and mms apns but my phone does not connect to rogers. I get no data and can send messages only some of the time, but I can receive them. I also can make phone calls, but cannot receive them.
Regardless, I have tried entering the apns again, resetting he network connection multiple times and resetting my phone multiple times. I have no idea why it is doing this. Could it be due to the firmware or is there a setting I need to change. Please help!
I had an issue with rogers today also, had no connection at work through out the day but once i left work it started working.
I really don't think this is a rogers issue. I am going to try flashing a different firmware on my phone... maybe that will fix it... I really don't know what to do. :-(
Another discovery is it works on occasion only and sometimes it shows 3g but does not connect to H+ when it sends out data.
Sounds pretty weird. Did you insert another 50cents when the operator asked??
Was working for a week then with no change at your end the weird crap started...
I'd flash back to stock Rom for your provider and see if all goes back to normal. I'd make a backup 1st to switch back if it's your provider and not the device.
Good luck.

I'm flashing back to an earlier version. KG5 was working fine for me... should I really flash back to original though? that would be KE2 for me.

Up to you really. If KG5 was working good try that 1st. That's what I would do if you are sure it's not your provider at fault.
Just a methodical process of elimination.

Fashing back did not solve the issue...
Doesn't point to your devices software to me from the little I know of your situation.
Could try a different sim...maybe from another network to see if there is something going on there.
Could try your sim in another device also. See if it works the.
Otherwise could flash back to stock. Reset flash counter if need be with jig and take back to shop and see if they can get it going.
Sorry I can't be more helpful without hands on.

I will try the sim card thing. It seems weird to me that it would just stop working like this, but after reading around some think that it is the modem? How could that have even changed in my phone? Does flashing cause it to change? It was working fine for two months solid and for one week on K13.
It is definitely not the sim card. Modem?
I did read somewhere that someones ime number changed when they flashed.
Might be worth a search as I dont have a link.
There is a way to check if ur ime is correct by using the dialer.

Well Rogers actually fixed the issue. I called them and they apparently had tower issues in my area. It is back up and running after me trying to figure all this out. Such a headache, but at least I will know for next time... a problem like this should not randomly arise and the modem should not change if stock firmware is used (given it is the right version). My IME is still there.
Glad to hear all is good. Had my doubts about it being your device

Thanks for all the help. I went through so many different processes, but I actually managed to get KIES to work with my phone now and all the settings I had are back on it too. So at least something good came out of it. Even if Rogers gave me a huge headache.
I cant get phone to go into any menus or anything(even home screen) once booted into android, it just shows message connecting to network. Ive flashed to CM7, stock rom and tried several flashes and cannot get it to go away. Ive called Sprint atleast 3 times and gone through all their steps. they finally said take it to a store for a reflash.. Can i do this at home myself so i dont risk them finding gout about my root and unlock that i previously did? I just SBF'd to "1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_7-CM-release-keys-signed-Sprint-US.sbf" and it still makes no difference.. Shouldnt this bring my phone to an "out of box" state? Whats the best way to wipe ALL data off the phone without CWM installed?
The phoneis trting to reach Sprintnetwork and it can't... that happens to international users using gsm but isnr your case.. try reflashing back to stock and flash again with cm7, if keeps the problem you can delete the activation files in cm7, its called sprintservice.apk and sprintomadm.apk pls search in forums for activation error and check the names im not sure if that's correct

I searched for literally hours on xda/google as well to try and figure out how to fix it and couldn't find any fix.. I reflashed the stock sbf atleast 4-5 times( i tried two different versions/files). In the end I gave up and went to sprint to get a new phone, they reflashed the phone as well and had the same results as I did. So im back with a new photon and CM7 again!
It looks like you had a faulty Photon, glad thst they changed with another one
