Android 2.1 - lock screen font change - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

ONLY FOR EXPERIENCED USERS - CAN MESS UP YOUR DEVICE
I found the way how to change the font used for lock screen time.
Just replace existing fonts with those you like in framework-res.apk (better use True Type)
framework-res.apk\assets\fonts\
SoMALight.ttf
SoMARegular.ttf

Looks very cool! Which font did you use for the first pic?

Sweet job on finding those files
can you share them fonts please? =]

Nice !! It only replaces lock screen font or whole system ??
And btw, what theme are you using ?

...replacing of mentioned fonts changes only the lock screen time font (not datum), I did not find any other affected area.
The fonts I used are from this site http://www.1001freefonts.com/
..but some fonts I have tried are too wide or too tall, so you need to find proper one, mainly if you use 24h format of time, I had problems with for example 23:58 and similar "wide times", but you can quickly check it by changing the system time, that you will see the worst scenario and check if your new font is working properly. Only what will happen if not is that the time will be split or something like that, but you can try another than...
The teme I use is the black HTC one, I just modified the slider buttons to be all transparent, i do not need them there 'cause I know what to do with my device..
The wallpaper is Pop Squares, which is the best live wallpaper I found until now..

Thanks for the info, dude. Much appreciated.

is this still applicable for the current version on x10 mini pro? xxxxxxx.6?

Awesome! Thanks

What am I doing wrong here?
If I push the edited framework-res.apk back to the phone with ADB, while the phone is on, it freezes and resets and I then have to boot into xrecovery and do a restore.
If I do the same when the phone is booted into xrecovery, it works, but then after I've rebooted the phone the original framework-res.apk file is back again.

It seems to not be pushing anything to the phone even though it displays this:
1731 KB/s (10056079 bytes in 5.671s)
Tried it with a PNG file as well. Looks like it's pushed, but it doesn't show up in root explorer.

Hey there is an easier way to do this
Go to the market and download type fresh and andexplorer
When you install them download you desired font
When you have your font in your sd card open up type fresh
Press the menu buttom and click on backup fonts accept allow with superuser and after thats done press where it says clockopia and with file explorer select your font and the press the menu button again and click on apply font
When the proccess ends your lockscreen font will be changed!
If this was useful thank me!
Sent from my G2 via XDA running MexDroidMod PreGhostChilli

Yes, initially I tried both Type Fresh and Font Changer to change the Clockopia font, but it seems this font isn't used for the lock screen clock on the x10 mini pro, unlike on other phones.
When I type "adb boot recovery" it gives an error: protocol fault (no status) and then my phone resets and starts up again without entering recovery. Why is this?

Yay fixed it.
Seemed to have been a problem with xrecovery. Kept getting "remount failed: Unknown error: 0" when typing adb remount.
Replaced it with CWM recovery and it worked.

What have I done?
Well I always wanted to change the startup screens on my MotoQ.
Well not exactly. I always wanted the ability to change it. So I could change phone dialer screen and edit other xmls is my real motive.
So this works ALMOST. Why sometimes select a image is acting wierd. But changing the images works great.
If I can fix up a version that works better for you let me know.
This app will back up your original settings. It wont delete any default images. It will copy the images you choose to the program folder backGrounder directory and then delete those same image copies if you deselect them.
You will need Mortscript.
What are the requirements? I have no idea.
I have a WM5 smartphone.
I could have it make sure the images were valid jpg/png/gif first.
[App] Start Menu View: from Moto Q8
This application is use for changing menu background with easy. You also can change the menu view: List or Grid. Every menu folder can have different background and can insert background picture from any location in your phone.
Just copy the folder into your phone (phone or mem card doesn't matter) then run the application. You can create shortcut manually.
It seems gif images just show up as static images. how disappointing.
On the plus side I noticed that we can set the timeout one the images that do show. I will add setting those timeouts on the next version. I wonder what happens if i set those to zed?
I think i will rearrange the menu choices so as to mimic how they appear on the phone.
Next update:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591508

Change SMS Inbox, Compose and Chat Background
* Change the Dial and In-Call Screen Background
1. Copy \Windows\BackgroundImage_Land.bmp and \Windows\_BackgroundImage_Land.bmp to your PC or a backup folder in case you want to restore these in the future.
2. Make images with dimensions of 320 x 186 with the same names as the files above above.
3. Copy the new images back to the \Windows\ folder and overwrite the old files.
Updates still pending.
May add font adjustor:

There might be plenty of application out there that may give you the freedom to tweak your device’s themes. But why go through all the trouble when all you want to do is to simply change your system’s font? Get your registry editor ready and let’s change some system font for your Windows Phone!
*Warning: Please be careful when increasing font size. In cases when the font is enlarged too much you may not be able to see the content on the screen and may have to go through hard-reset to continue using the device.
Objective
Change the default system font on your Windows Phone
Applicable Device(s)
Windows Mobile PocketPCs and Smartphones
Samsung Omnia, Samsung Epix, Samsung  Blackjack
What you need
Registry Editor (such as PHM)
Registry Address
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\SYSFNT
Value Name
There are several values you can change here:
Nm: The font name of the system
Ht: The font size in points
It: If the font is Italics
Wt: The weight of the font (bold)
Value Data
Nm: Choose a font that’s ClearType enabled
Ht: We advice anything between 6 to 15
It: enter ‘1′ to enable or ‘0′ to disable
Wt: Default is ‘190′, anything between that number and 400 should be fine.
Screenshot
For some, this is an optional option, but for others the font type can be very much essential part of their mobile user-experience.

PC application ADB Mask Controller

Hallo guys!
I would like to refer to the beautiful work of Mask-1.
He crated a small program to manage your x10 mini (pro) with adb via PC.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868423
This is a tool I created to help me with my X10. I thought it might be useful to some of you so I made some fixes and here it is! Keep in mind that this is a beta version so use at your own risk. Some of the features are:
• push, pull and install apps
• remove apps
• view and edit: gps.conf, Hosts and build.prop
• view and kill running processes
• zipalign (user apps)
• push and pull Bootanimation, framework-res and Framework jar files
• clean cache and temp folders
• and others.
I tested it on X10, X10 mini and X8 (non rooted) .
For any questions, problems or suggestions please leave a message

I've tested it with my x10 mini pro and i will never miss it again.
Doesn't seem to work on my Mini Pro. It show everything as if it works in the app but it doesn't do anything. Tried to delete some apps but they are still there on the phone even after reboot.
That looks sweet!
(I like the look of the little option at the bottom of the window that says turn sleep button into end call!!)
Might have to have a play..
and it just works!!
Love this app.. I have changed my power off button into a end call button, edited my host list so I don't get bothered by adds, played with frameworks, shifted apps to system/apps.. all stuff I could do with ADB but soooo much quicker and easier
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet!
hey,, i tried the end call button replacement, but all my button does not work.. is there anything I could do about it?
If i need to modify a file, just let me know. thanks.

[Q | MOD] SemcPhone.apk removal of corner buttons?

Greetings! I truly dislike the “corner-buttons” on the XPERIA mini/active phone dialer during a call and I have tried to customize and modify the “SemcPhone.apk” with the latest android-sdk to make it look like the image below. (image is taken from an XPERIA ARC mod made by 本日2発目です、すみません)
I have been trying to do the same with XPERIA ACTIVE SemcPhone.apk without any success, this is the only apk in my system/app that I am having problems with to modify/customize without getting force-close errors and network problems.
Has anyone here at XDA modded the SemcPhone.apk with success? Please inform us regarding this and post previews if possible. I do not want to change the default dialer theme, I only want to re-arrange the button placements as seen in the image below during a call instead of the default un-practical corner buttons.
Cheers
Preview img below:
Greetings! Does anyone have a modified “SemcPhone.apk” for XperiaActive/Mini/x10 that looks like the image below?
I have decompiled the original SemcPhone.apk and modified the layout and graphics but the phone enters “Force Close” loop with the new signed file and I find it impossible to modify this . I can modify all the other system files in my phone beside “SemcPhone.apk” on the stock rooted 0.62 rom. I would appreciate any help.
The reason I want to modify this file is because I am having a very hard time to sometimes hit the “END CALL” button with the default tiny 4 corner buttons. The tiny buttons are just not practical, especially for those of us with big hands/fingers. I sometimes have to press the “END CALL” button several times. A big large red “end call” button would indeed be much more usable.

PS. The right image is taken from the MIUI Phone.apk and that does not work when renamed to SemcPhone.apk
I would also like to have something like that!

None of these 2 will work, as both are made to work on ICS phones and will require different framework. Looks like quite a lot of work to make it.

[Bootanimation][720p] Five universal clean bootanimations (no logos, no texts)

Hello,
I've been messing around customising my own Redmi 2 and in result i created a few custom boot animations. They are made out of GIFs found around internet.
My work was whole conversion GIF -> animation (splitting frames, re-editing everything, matching resolutions, changing image modes and all batch exports).
GIFs are generally kept in red-ish colouristic (due to the fact that Redmi 2 has 3 red buttons below screen) but if someone need any of these animations in other colour really really bad i can swap colours to other (within reasonable range, like I wont recolour it just to get a little brighter or darker red.... i can recolour it to green, blue, pink etc.).
Most of them are in 700x700 resolution with exception of last (which is in full 720p). Below are previews of them. First animations as you can see in the GIF while rest of them consists of 3 parts: intro where animation appears out of black, main part where animation is looped until device is ready and then last part, fadeout to black.
First bootanimation

Second bootanimation
Thirdbootanimation
Fourth bootanimation
Fifth bootanimation
Remember to rename downloaded file to bootanimation.zip (remove index number) and to backup stock animation!
Thanks, it is exactly the kinda animation I was looking for.
Wow.. Superb Animations.. Thanks Bro..:good::highfive:
The best boot animations I have seen till date. Thanks a ton!
I tried flashing them after renaming, as you mentioned, but I got error.
"could not find 'META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' in the zip file."

They are not meant to be flashed. Using root explore or other app that can browse filers on phone and access root/system folders (X-Plore for example|) you simply copy bootanimation.zip to ...\root\system\media\... where original bootanimation.zip is stored (backup it and then overwrite with new).
great share... it works fine
Sent from deep sea
can you make a boot animation out of that Tipsy OS's Beer animation ?
Just a request. =)
Great work here.
I don't even have a redmi 2. I was looking for custom ROMs for my brother's phone and found this thread.... Incredible work @OP.
You should really post this stuff on other threads too. I know the OP and RN3 guys will love it.
Thanks

Nougat Font Change Option Dissapeared

Under personalization on Nougat and older software version there was the option to change the system font and the default font size. For some reason the option to change the font has disappeared while the option to change the font size is still there. Any one else ran into this issue?

I'm going MAD trying to replace the horrid and difficult to read system font for LG Stylo 3. It can't be done under the font option in Nougat. I've tried various font apps that say they are compatible with unrooted phones, but NONE of them have worked. It's infuriating that a simple font style can't be the client's choice without a root.
If anyone figures out how to do this, PLEASE help us!!

Yes, it doesn't change the system font. I still see the horrid outline font across my apps including my text messages. I wish I could share a screen shot here from my computer, but this thing here asks for the url??
