Well, over the weekend I tried to unlock the phone on my own and I felt and did most of the steps but others I couldn't complete. I never entered the unlocked code into the window that asks for it after inputing the 4 digit sim unlocked. I had given up, and asked a friend who has been a customer with Tmobile to ask for the unlocked code for me....He Did and I just got it 1 hr ago.
Something strange happened now that I tried to put in the code.
I Don't see the Screen to input the UNLOCK code. After typing in 4 digit code to unlock SIM, it goes straight to phone and the network been detected is ATT. I guess whatever I did on the weekend did unlock the phone. I just called myself and it says, "Your Call did not go through"
Also I started to received SMS from the SIM Provider (TMN PORTUGAL) about the credit available for calls and about Roaming....
What do you guys think? What else should I test? Did I unlocked this by accident?

Well, if the phone its locked to AT&T then you call AT&T. There is no way to unlock now though from what I understand unless of course AT&T can for you. This its why you should NEVER just guess at the unlock coffee and instead call the company you bought the phone from or get an unlock code online for less then $20 usually.
To check root install an app that needs root (root explorer works, as does any other asp that says needs root)

Hello!
I flashed CM7 onto my locked X10 mini 2 days ago.
Phone is working fine.
CM7 is great!!!!
Now I want to order an IMEI unlock code.
But CM7 doesn't ask for this code when an alien sim is inserted.
* Is there a way to make the phone prompt for this code?
* Without a prompt, how else should I insert this code?
* Is there some kind of service menu?
* How can I see the network the phone is locked to?
thanks in advance for any help!!!
Just to cover the basics: Are you sure your phone is locked? You don't get coverage with the alien SIM?
Don't think there is a menu anywhere...
If the phone is reported missing somewhere, it could be blacklisted in CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register).
Hi!
No, this phone for sure is not blacklisted
I got it a week ago from my provider for extending my contract for another 24 months..
All these phones are network locked.
I tried another sim, that is working in another phone, but I got no net connection.
So I'm thinking about buying an unlock code.
I just have to know, if CM7 has the abillity to insert this code or not.
Cu
Funny thing: Lots of locked phones sold with contracts are actually not locked, but I understand yours still are...
In answer to your question; you should be prompted for a unlock code when you start the phone with an alien SIM, no matter what ROM you use...

many phones in Germany are free...
But not here in Austria.
Anyway.
My phone doesn't prompt for a code.
I don't know if this is a normal behaviour?
I have a TMo phone unlocked with a WIND Mobile sim. I have already PUK unlocked the SIM when I first use the phone. However, I randomly getting PUK locked message in the morning. I restart the phone. Message goes away. I don't get it. Is it something wrong with the SIM, the provider, or the phone? I can't find any information on that regard online. I do have the SIM PUK code from my provider.
Use the PUK code that Wind gave you.
i did but the warning screen pops up after a day or two. That is the part i don't get.
Puk codes are generated from the Sim card, suppose to happen when the security pin on the Sim card is entered wrong to many times.. There's also more than one pin and puk, usually referred to pin 1 and 2, which generates puk 1 and puk 2.
my guess is if it keeps happening, you might want to replace your sim.

I purchased a phone that was supposed to be unlocked. But when I received it, it had been a Claro gs3. Naturally it did not work with T-mobile. So I rooted the phone then unlocked it. Looking at the status of the phone with two different apps (galaxsim unlock and galaxy unlock), and both say product code: gt-i9300mblpct ; Accepted MCC/MNC: all ; Network Lock: unlocked ; then lists several other things that are all unlocked. Says nothing is locked in either of the apps. And yet the screen that asks for an unlock code still pops up, and the phone cannot connect with T-mobile, even though I have an activated microsim in it. When I first received the phone, I purchased an unlock code, that worked for about a day. When I turned it off and then back on, it asked for another unlock code (the old one wouldn't work). Also, all of those special *#xxxxxx# type codes do not work, it does not compute on the phone for some reason. Any ideas what is going on or how I can make calls and receive texts on it?
Here is my story:
I bought my friend's Telus locked S6 Edge last week when he upgraded to the new S8. Right now I am am using Virgin as my service provider and bought an Unlock code from an online third party and that code did not work. While the third party unlock shop was helping me figure out my the problem a third attempt at entering the code caused the error message to change to asking for a PUK code. I got my PUK code for my SIM card from my Virgin account and that fixed nothing. Phone is still asking for the PUK code. I contacted Virgin and they updated my account with the S6 Edge's IMEI number but after 24 hours the new code (which was still the same digits) also did not work. I have since tried three other active SIM cards from different subscribers from friends and relatives. All cards are asking for a PUK code. If I put in the original owner's SIM cards the phone works without a problem.
I contacted Telus and bought the Unlock code directly from them (it was different from the code I got online confirming this all started because of a bad code), and it was also rejected, but the phone is asking for a PUK code so I was not surprised. I tried to force the SIM unlock with the Telus SIM inserted by using the #7465625*638*# to bring up the network unlock prompt and using the new Telus provided code, but it came back as unsuccessful.
Have I somehow screwed up my new to me phone? Can anyone help?

The PUK code needs to come from the original network it was locked to. As you have tried that and it didn't work I'm also confused as to why it won't unlock.
Right so.....
It will usually ask for a PUK code when the phone has a SIM lock enabled. Then if the SIM lock is entered incorrectly 3 times it will ask for a PUK code, obtained from the network to unlock it again.
Did your friend have SIM lock enabled?

With my friend's SIM inserted in the phone it works like the day he got it. No prompts for codes or PUK warnings.

I just realized I did not understand the question. My friend never enabled any SIM lock. He did not even know that was a thing.
Did you find the solution as i am having exactly the same issue on my phone ?
