[q] cda 1233-8200 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was intrigued by CDA 1233-8200. After updating to World 2.1, I changed all CDA references in the BUILD.PROP to 1233-8200. SEUS said my phone was up-to-date and did not give option to repair.
I had just used it to repair the World 2.1 to make sure it was working.
PC Companion got all the way to download and then came back with “no update available”.
IF it is a valid CDA IT IS MAY NOT be a variant on World. Now my phone is at World 2.1 with CDA pointing to 1233-8200. The SI may not be released and when It is it may then point to World.
If any more info is available on this CDA, please post.

I had this CDA on my device.
In the settings, it stated X10a, Generic America, country was America.
I could not get an update and since have flashed X10a generic 2.1 which is a world generic.
I got exasperated waiting for SEUS to release the update. My guess is the X10 has only been released in the US with AT&T and the 1233-8200 CDA would be if they ever released a unlocked version here.

Thanks, would you mind sharing your SI?

It wouldn't matter.
I'm on a Rogers device that was unlocked when I bought back in April by the seller.
I got the 1233-8200 CDA after flashing world generic R2BA026 through Davinci.

@ Greg
Just connect the phone (X10) to your PC and it will pop up with different installations. Install the Sony Ericsson PC Companion and it will tell you that there’s an update ready.
Then follow the instructions. This is a firmware update!
That worked for me!
My version is 1.0.16"
My phone allready have 1.0.16... (not upgraded it)
I also want it !
hhhmmmmmm, the fun that ill have come tuesday!!
Yes there is a 16 update around and no i can't update to it either...maybe it's generic vs carrier again - that's why we need root/custom roms!
I've got the .16 upgrade on my phone, I don't notice much of a change though.

even iam from india iam on .14 but whenever i check it states "firmware is upto-date".
Just upgraded mine from 14 to 16 last night by using Sony Ericsson Update Service. This is a baseband firmware update, so you won't be able to update via Android's update firmware feature.
Hello, in france, via SEUS the latest FW is still the 1.0.14. And I still have poping and cracking. Hope the 1.0.16 solve this issue.
Best regards
I'm located in Belgium and I also can't update to .16 software.
boy does this phone need 2.1!!!!!!!!!! its a gonner without it i am afraid. functionality and stability from 2.1 firmware will bring out the beast in this phone. 1.6 right now is too limited for what this phone is capable off so SONY dont let us wait too long! i know min issue would be adding media and timescape to 2.1 but it needs to be done!
Mine is a Vodafone UK Handset, SEUS is saying mine is up to date.
Model X10i
BaseBand. 1.0.14
Kerbel Verison. 2.6.29-rel
Build No. R1FA014

Looks like Vodafone are lagging with a firmware release.
Andy
Go to Sonys webbpage, dowload and install the software update service, follow the guide for X10 and install the latest update. It is easy to do and the last firmware is 1.0.16
Any Q?? you just ask.
Regards.

Ive done all that, it says my phone has the latest firmware on it. Currently i have firmware 1.0.14
Is this another delay with Vodafone being slow to release software?
No this is Sony Ericson soft and has nothing to do with Vodaphone. I just ran the program my self and had no problem at all. Just try it again.

It has more than you think. If the phone is branded then Vodaphone has to approve the update before it can be delivered through SEUS.
This is the same issue i'm facing with 3 Denmark, the phone has ONE extra app(3MobileTV) BUT that means that 3DK has to approve ALL software updates from SE before it can be installed...
This is why we desperately need root/custom roms
Ok, thank´s for updating me on that. But i still think it´s strange.

[Q] Version incoherences

Hi!
I bought an X10 Mini about a month ago (Unlocked Latin American) and I've falshed it 2 times through SEUS, I was checking the back of my phone and it says SI 1237-3271 (from what I've gathered this is the General Latin American CDF), however I opened my default-capability.xml not only does it say that my model is and E10i (and it can't be since it's Latin American and I have a 3G connection in Colombia) but it also says that the phone's CDF is 1238-5790.
Does anyone know if this might be a problem when I try to update to 2.1 or any other kind of problem at all?
Thanx
if you are on your oficial firmware or the firmware what you wabt to stay... try doing a repair with PC companion, i downgrade from 2.1 nordic or whatever to the 1.6 nordic or whatever.... then i change my build.prop to the orginal one from my claro carrier, then do a repair, so i was on the original firmware claro again but Not 3G/UTSM band support, i repair it again and the problems gone
If your build prop refers to 1238-5790 it should be good for updates to 2.1. That is a E10a code.
Thanks for your answers, I realized that both CDFs are correct, the problem is that no update has been release for any E10a that I know of.

Which Countries have 2.0.2.A.0.24?

Just to clarify things.
Could people please indicate the country and carrier if they have been able to get the .24 update.
Please DON'T report if you are unable to get it.
Many thanks.
not sure but think just countries with nordic 2.1 or mainly x10i countries have it
haven't seen any x10a update

X10a CDA 1234-4820 has been out for almost a week now
I got the update through SEUS, flashed to generic nordic. I am in the Philippines on Globe Telecom bought my phone open line though and not through a telco

How do I trick SEUS to install another customization?

My phone is a Nordic Generic phone. But I did install the Norwegian Generic rom to it, but becuase this is a Telenor branded one I want to go back to the Nordic one.
Tried changing the build.prop file to trick SEUS to download the Nordic firmware but it just throws me a error about my firmware being customized before it starts downloading the firmware.
Does anyone know how to trick SEUS or maybe know of any Nordic firmware (1257-6087) to download? Old or new doesn't madder..
Flashtool the Europe Generic one.

I know I could do that. But I want to have the Nordic one just in case I need to send in my phone for service.
A couple of years ago when I used the SE X10 Mini I just changed the build.prop file to change firmware/branding.
Is this possible somehow with Xperia S?
After some testing it seams like the Nordic Generic (1257-6087) firmware does not exist..
I now have the Norway Generic (1257-8821) on my phone. When I tried changing build.prop and cust.prop to match 1257-6087 PCC would always turn off and check my phone before downloading any firmware. But when I change them to match the Swedish Generic (1257-6919) it downloads the firmware to blob_fs before checking the phone, it does complain and does not update the phone but since the files have been downloaded I can update it with flashtool.
My SI number is 1257-6087 but it does not seam to be any firmware with that customization number.. strange..

[Q] Relation Between the Updates and Customization

Hello all,
I wonder something and I wanted to ask you for better understanding. So here is my question. If my phone has the CDA number of Central Europe and I change it to lets say Nordic Countries ROM. Does this mean from now on all the updates that will rollout in Nordic Countries will be valid for me? As a summary is this how Sony rollout the updates in different regions?
I know Nordic Countries have already updated their phone to Lollipop. Lets say I change my phones ROM from Central Europe to Nordic Countries KitKat version. Does this mean when I check for updates of Lollipop will I be able to see on OTA?
Thanks
