Hi,
Can someone please help me rooting my phone. I tried all the options (flashing, using Z4 and Superoneclick), but they don't work.
My problem:
I rooted my X10 on 1.6 because I wanted to have android 2.1. It was on nordic for a while, but I wanted the Dutch version (because of Hyves).
Problem is that the rooting and changing to nordic procedure is different in 2.1, so going back was not the same
I found a way to get my phone back to 1.6 (by flashing, see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683793). I thought I could root it and change it back to Dutch. Since the Dutch version of 2.1 (with Hyves) is out, I could download it.
Problem is that I can't root this one in some way. I did update from the version from flashing, so version number is: R2BA026. (I am stuck with a useless 1.6 X10!)
Can someone please help me?!
Thank you in advance!

hey guys, i've been going about the forums and trying out various stuff. i really want android 2.1 on my phone, but i've had no success. and i only just found out that the SO-01B runs on x10a configurations and according to wikipedia, it has lack of support for android 2.1.
is this true? if not, can someone please link me to a guide that will work for me? i've seen alot around but im not sure which one would work and i really don't want to mess up the phone.
Im running on android 1.6 with RABA026 FW
Thank you!
no probs
hi there,
I'm in Japan with the So-01B and I have updated succesfully to 2.1
Same as you I flashed mine to an x10i and latest firmware (before 2.1).
Just donwload the decryted 2.1 ROM with flashtool from the main board and flash it. You'll be fine
Yes. I also updated my SO-01B to 2.1. No problems so far Everything works great.
Just use the version that provided @Bin4ry (hail to the genius) and you're set.
and don't forget to back up everything if things go sour (you never know).
i also have the same model as yours, and updated successfully.. i tried both the nordic and global firmware and both worked well..
can you please link me to thread that has the instructions?
DONE!
thanks =D

hey guys,

can anyone please upload it or give me a link.

Hi guys.
I made the mistake of not making a proper backup of my phone before flashing a rooted version of 1.6 and would like to be able to return it to its original state before Three pushes out the 2.1 update.
Could anyone with a backup of the original 1.6 firmware of Three Australia please share their backup ?
My phone is an Xperia X10a
Thanks in advance.
PS: at the very least I will need the following files in their original form:
/system/default.prop
/system/build.prop
from another Oz 3 clients comments and my own very frustrating dealings with them I think its unlikely that they will be realeasing 2.1. I updated my x10a to the Brazilian 2.1 software a couple of weeks ago and have had no problems with the phone or using the 3 network.
I called 3 and was told that they dont do updates :-S. So you might be waiting a while.
I flashed to global generic 2.1 and my phone is perfect. Only thing is I cannot use planet 3 anymore lol
Sent from my X10i using XDA App

If its just rooted then simply do a master reset to restore it to its original state. If you debranded it and rooted it then just flash back using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824711, changing the id to 1234-4828.
Thank you delbuenno. Will give it a try shortly.
Update: I used code 1234-4820 to make it a generic X10a and then the SEUS updater upgraded me to 2.1 without a hitch.
Hi there,
I recently used the "eugene" froyo update on my new unlocked samsung vibrant from t-mobile. it still lags sometimes and i was kinda hoping to find a way to make it faster.
I don't know if the eugene froyo update rooted my phone or not. under firmware version it says 2.2 and build number says FROYO.UVJK2. I don't know what the build number means either.
I wanted to downgrade from this 2.2 version back to 2.1 cuz i wanted to wait for the original release of 2.2, but i couldnt find a way to downgrade. I want to make the phone faster if possible, that is why i am posting this.
If anyone could help or give me a solution, please let me know.
Thank you very much.
use Odin and flash original 2.1 firmware.
all instructions are in the vibrant bible.
Hey people.
I wanted to know: is there a way to know what was the firmware/android version that came with the phone when i bought it?
Because i already change from 2.1.1.0.A.6 to 2.1.1.C.0.0 and vice-versa and now my firmware is not the original one anymore :S, I'm from Portugal and i don't know what was the Official Firmware/Android Version that came with the phone when i bought it, i want to installed it back to my phone so i can have my phone Original again without having different firmware. And if that is possible, where can i download it?.
I'll give 'Thanks' to good answers.
Cheers :good:

It came with 1.6 when SonyEricsson brought it out, and they provided updates to 2.1, with 2.1.1.C.0.0 being the last one they provided for the x10mini pro. So if you've got that firmware, your phone is still considered original, if that update was available in your region.
If your phone was locked to a specific provider, with their provider specific software (bloatware) installed, you won't be able to get it back to how it was when you bought it.
If you want to make sure you have the last original firmware for your phone for your region, do a repair with PC-Companion or SEUS. And if you had your bootloader unlocked, use S1Tool's restore function to lock it again afterwards. More original than that is impossible.
Now there's another problem, i don't know where i can download a firmware for the Portugal region, the greek firmware works but it has the keyboard problem 'buttons รง and ," that GB roms also have, so i would need to root the phone to fix that.
So there's no way to get the original firmware back :S.
Yes i can always repair with that but...if the firmware is the wrong one 'brazilian firmware for example' then those programs can't find the firmware for the repair.
I hope i never need to repair my phone and that i can stick with the GB roms, they're so much better than original eclair.
