Hi all
HereĀ“s the thing. I dont get any sound or vibration when i get new sms. Clock changes 5 or 6 time a day. Sometimes the sound is off, and i need to reboot my phone to get it work. Pls can anyone help me about these problems .
Tnx in advance.
Im still a noob with HD2 and roms, as i only recieved mine 3 days ago..
But i guess for people to help u, u should indicate your Rom, Spl, radio, tweaks, what u installed, custom things, etc, any info that could help people indicate what might be wrong?
Clock Problems:
Go to the Settings tab. Select Menu -> All Settings -> Personal -> Phone -> GSM/UMTS Services. Highlight Time Synchronization and select 'Get Settings...'. Untick 'Automatic change time zone and clock'.
SMS Sounds:
Go to the Settings tab. Select Menu -> All Settings -> Sounds & Notifications -> Notifications. In the Event Box select Messaging: New message. Tick the 'Play sound' box and pick a sound you want and/or tick the Vibrate box.
@fred_up, thanks a lot . . now its all fine as it should be. . . thanks again

Hello,
I have a Sprint Version of the TP and when I am on the phone and get a text message there's this really loud annoying ring sound that goes off 3 times in a row and I can't hear what my caller is saying when its going off. Is there anyway to remove this or at least change the sound to something that's not as annoying like maybe a quiet 1 beep?
Thanks for the help
D
Go to settings-> all settings -> personal -> sounds and notification -> notification. Then open up the drop down bow and select Messaging: New Text Message. Next select ring type and select None from the bottom. =)

The "Play Sound" box is Unchecked but the "Vibrate" box is checked. I have no "None" option.
All I have is "Play Sound" (if enabled "repeat"), "Display Message On Screen", "Flash Light For" (Which is grayed out), and "Vibrate".
~~~~~~~~~~~~EDIT~~~~~~~~~~~1/21/09
I went to "settings -> personal -> sounds and notification -> Sounds" and Unchecked the "notifications (alarms, reminders)" and it worked! No more annoying sound while on the phone.
I Noticed when I did the above it disabled my phone from vibrating when I get a text even thou its checked in the "Vibrate" box, so I am back to needing help with this. Is there any way to make it so the phone does vibrate when not in a call but also not make the annoying notify ringtone???
Thanks!
quite disappointingly windows phone doesnt want to let you change sms...recently flashed Chukys rom and the dev had the sms tone changed...
was wondering was there an app/way to change sms ringtone without much bother?
Thanks
i am not sure if this is what you're looking for, but if you want to change SMS ringtone in HD2, go to settings -> Sound & Display -> Notification Sounds -> New Message and there you go. Hope this helps.
You could always navigate to Notification Settings to change your sms ringtone.
If you want a custom ringtone, place the mp3 file in 'My Ringtones' folder in your DEVICE memory, and you can select it from the same settings as above.
You can also put them in My Device/Application Data/Sounds. When you go to Sounds & Notifications they will be in the drop down menu along with the other hundred sounds I routinely delete with every ROM flash, lol.
Hi,
I'm on ROM Batista 3.5 with a very strange and annoying problem: the menu option to change the ringtone for my Gmail accounts is missing. On my HTC Desire I simply go to Gmail-Menu-More-Settings-Notification settings- Select ringtone.
On my Galaxy S2 this menu option is completely missing. I can go to Gmail-Menu-More-Settings-(pick an account)-Notification settings, but the select ringtone and all the other E-mail notification options are just not there. I'm pretty sure I had the exact same problem on ROM Litening v5.0. Google/XDA search seems to suggest I'm the only one so far facing this problem.
The E-mail notification is now set as the sms ringtone and its' driving me nuts. Does anyone know how I can change or at least kill the E-mail ringtone (and reactivate the relevant menu options in the settings menu)? Am I totally daft and missing the menu option or is something more serious going on in my ROM?
Solved!
Apparently you have to click through to "labels to notify" to get to the settings. No idea which Korean engineer came up with that one, but at least it's solved...
I don't have that ROM or that problem, but thanks for posting the solution. No doubt someone else will have the same problem.
This problem only occurs from Gmail 2.3.5 onwards, because they changed the location of the settings.
I can not find this setting anywhere either. Been hunting for 30 minutes now.
I went to labels but I don't see anything there either. Where the heck did they hide these settings?
EDIT:
Menu -> More -> Settings
Under the account settings heading, tap your email account name.
Scroll to the bottom.
Tap Labels to notify.
I want to create a "sound only profile" (only sound for calls and sms, NO vibration) in the "System Settings / General / Profiles" section, but it seems I can't set the correct values to do that :laugh:
I have played with the "Ring Mode", "Applications Groups", "Vibrate Mode", ... parameters with no luck. Can any1 help me out here?
I'm also on Slim 4.3. I don't actually use the profiles, but having a quick play around with it just now, what happens when you:
1. Pick the settings of a profile (I randomly chose 'Home')
2. Scroll to the bottom of the profile settings
3. Click 'Phone'
4. Turn vibrate off, and sound on.
5. Repeat 3&4 for SMS.
If you also want to disable all vibration in all apps other than the ones specifically listed, then what about repeating steps 3&4 for the 'Other' listing? Ie, two listings above SMS? I would think that would disable all the vibration but make all apps able to play notification sounds, that is for all the apps which aren't specifically listed there. I guess you'd have to configure those individually using steps 3&4.
It's pretty annoying, because I can't access the features of the call and keypad, for going through the options, e.g.
Any idea what could I do about it?
thank you
I had this problem too. Go to settings -> applications -> applications -> in the three dots in the top right-hand side, select "show system processes" -> Phone -> Storage -> Delete cache and data -> Go back once -> Force close and restart your phone.
