Locked out after too many pattern attempts? SOLVED!!! WITHOUT ANY DATA LOSS! - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well, my little brother attempted to enter the pattern seemingly too many times and guess what I was locked out without any way to access my contacts, apps etc.
The phone prompted me to enter my google credentials, and guess what? I entered them only to see it reject it by saying that it was an incorrect username or password.
I kept looking in many forums and found no success even after 10 long hours of searching.
AND THEN....
I decided to GIVE MY PHONE A CALL from my house number. ACCEPTED IT and pressed the "Settings" button and there shows the Contacts, Sim Tools etc. I pressed the contact button only to see the dreaded locked screen again.
But since that was enough to give me hope, I GAVE MYSELF A CALL AGAIN and pressed the settings button again. Only this time I was able to enter into the Contacts menu. I pressed the Home button and was so glad I was able to ENTER MY HOME SCREEN!. I pressed and went to settings---> accounts and sync--->quickly synced my gmail and deleted all other accounts. I locked my phone again by pressing the power button. I ENTERED MY GOOGLE CREDENTIALS AGAIN and THIS TIME IT WORKED!!!
I was so glad that I had recovered my phone WITHOUT ANY DATA LOSS!
I hope this helps many who are suffering from this glaring android bug that is so frustrating.
BTW. I AM USING SAMSUNG VIBRANT with official firmware.

Guaide me please

Can't Remember Unlock Code

Hey,
I lent my phone to a friend a few months ago, and they put an unlock code on it and can't remember what it is. I know the gmail account and password, but every time I put the email address and password in it says invalid username/password.
Is there anyway I can do a factory reset of the phone. I tried holding down Home and Power On, but this happens http://c848462.r62.cf0.rackcdn.com/b4bdfe9625ba680f1724fb8e1f461772.png
I tired swapping the SIM for my friends (phone is carrier unlocked) which also has 3G data allowance, but it still wouldn't accept the email.
Thanks,
Charlie
I read somewhere that you can do the reset if you power the phone on while holding Home and Back. I'm not sure, though...
Sent from my Hero using XDA App
After pressing home and power you need to press power and volume up I'm not sure but I know it is something volume up or volume down try power first then you can wipe it from there

[Q] Too many pattern attempts - LOCKED

Hello everyone.
Today I left my phone (galaxy S2) in my cousin's hand, and he tried to unclock my screen lock pattern. After too many attempts, my phone got lcoked and it asked me to sign in using my google account. I did so, and the phone got unlocked.
But when I press the lock button, or the phone gets locked automatically and I press the lock button to unlock it, the "too many pattern attempts" screen comes back again. Also my sim card is not being detected even though its there.
I have tried rebooting the phone, disabling the screen lock patten in security settings, disabling google account. Nothing has helped so far!
When you disabled the screen lock setting, what happens? You could try booting into recovery and wiping cache. If that doesn't work, then you'll probably have to factory reset.
When I disable it, nothing happens, as in it shows that it is disabled on the security settings. But when I press the lock button, the too many attempts screens comes back again. I tried a fctory reset too. Its still there! This is so frustrating!
Flashing a new rom should do the trick.
No you don't have to Flash
Try this please:
It was all about this "Two-Step Verification" security of google!
I tried everything... and I mean EVERYTHING (except flashing my XooM), but at the edge of giving up, I signed into my google account and issued an "Application Specific Password" for Xoom from my Google account.
I used my [email protected] with that Application Specific Password and it worked. (do not enter spaces in the password)
There is one solution
Hello,
I had similar problem with my Motorola Xoom WiFi. My friends was playing with my tablet and they was trying to guess my login pattern. Unfortunately sign in via Google account did not worked and WiFi network was turned off. So I was looking for way how to unlock it without root access.
Finally I found it. I wrote an application which turns on WiFi. It is quite simple. There is one requirement, you have to have enabled debuge mode. After installing app via IDE (eg. Eclipse) WiFi is connected to known network and you can log in with your Google account. There is also possibility to set network parameters in app code before compilation.
I hope this helps someone with this problem. At the end I want apologize for my poor english

Sometimes simple is best. If you saved the rom, go into recovery and restore the saved rom.

[Q] Sophix Tab-730g - Lost Password, Help?

Hello everyone,
we got this cheap tablet for my niece as a Christmas gift. She put a password on it and now she doesnt remember the password. It is connected to one of my gmail accounts, but I cant even get the tablet to give me an option to bypass device password via my gmail and password.
I have attempted to use the reset button to factory reset the device, but every time it reboots it asks for the password again.
I am about to throw the thing in the trash and tell my niece "sorry, you borked it, too bad so sad" but I thought I would try here before I did that.
Thanks in advance!

So I was having the same problem. It turns out that you do not press the volume up button along with the power button, but instead press the volume button in the middle along with the power button. Found that on a you tube video.
That resets the device to factory settings.
Note: If you have a memory card in the device, take it out before you start all this process so it doesn't lose data.
Sophix Tablet is made by digix media but I didn't find their website helpful to reset the password. Their website had me downloading zip files to my computer, etc. Very lengthy and time consuming.
Hope this helps someone else!

Fascinate Stuck On Pattern Lock

Any possible workarounds for getting off the retrieve pattern lock if you have forgotten a gmail acct? Done doing factory reset via cwm and tried installing stock rom and kernel but it always ends the same way. With customs, I always get a bootloop.

i seems an answer is in the post a few below yours::
Samsung Galaxy SCH-i500 how to bypass "Login with google account" screen?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182268
Quote:
1. Completely power off and power on your Galaxy-S phone.
2. Right after you pass the Galaxy-S and just before the Verizon Wireless logo video ends, immediately tap on the home button extremely fast and repeatedly (at least 4-5 times per second). If the Emergency Call button pops up, click that every now and then (3-5 times) but keep tapping on the home button. During this process your phone may flash the password screen or keypad screen just a few times and your phone will seem to be lagging due to the tapping.
3. Keep tapping until you see your Android home buttons stay steady at the bottom. Voila, you’re in your phone! If the emergency keypad constantly shows up or if it shows the Google account screen constantly, you have failed. The success rate can be around 15-50% so keep trying until it works. (You may want to grab a young phone-savvy guy or girl to do it if your fingers are too slow)
4. Find and run the Settings App and go to Accounts & Sync.
5. Under Manage Accounts, remove all accounts except your Google account.
6. Press your power button off and on and enter your correct Google account information.
7. It will ask for a new security pattern. Enter it twice and you are done!
This solution worked for me. If it does for you, please leave a comment with your carrier and phone model to let others know that it worked!
... but worked just fine.
.
will try this method. will keep you posted if successful or not.
managed to get in. but now theres a new one. somehowmthe owner had a tw launcher installed and im'm stuck on fc error message. if i try to close it, i'm back on the gmail acct retrieval. hmmmmm.....
Looks to me that o won't he able to do the above steps. Hands are too slow. Also found out that it's like a common issue to the sgs stock recovery. Used odin and flashed cwm 2.5.1.x instead amd wipe from there. Worked like a charm.

[Q] [HELP] LG Lucky L16c factory reset

Hello everyone I recently got the LG Lucky and foolishly set up my lock screen before bed one night and forget my pin. Also I hadn't set up any google accounts so bypassing the lockscreen is seeming impossible.
I don't have USB debugging enabled and I for the life of me cannot find how to factory reset it or another problem of getting back into my phone. If anyone knows a solution I'd be forever grateful.
Found a solution
After talking with tech support they told me how to do a hard reset. While the device is off hold volume down and the power button. Once the LG logo comes up release the power button then immediately hold it again
You're the man
Thank you much for this, had a friend in distress and you saved the day. Cheers!
thanks been wanting to know how to do this since i got mine thank you thank you thank you

U must disable McAfee s lock. When u register your phone with McAfee it automatically turns on the option to disable resets to detour theft. Turn that off (hopefully u didn't forget your 6 pin password) then u can reset your phone. I had to do the reset with the boot up reset feature
How do I get into McAfee to turn it off if I cannot get into my phone?
