Is it necessary to use a task killer?
Well it speed up my phone? Our Is the one included good

To be honest been using task killer for a while and than decided that its useless. Closes the apps that I might use soon which make them start up a bit longer. Deleted it and really don't see any difference.

The one included keeps important task running. Only will let you kill the ones it doesn't need in back ground.
Ive read. Yes you can use them to free up cpu usage. Three stock tk is the best.
Its official google.

They're useless I used atk for a while... turns out when you click end all... the Apps are designed to auto start using more battery so everytime u close all those Apps more battery is used.
If you have a task manager that came with your phone like mine... use that... it disables the other apps that restart so you can't see them . Android it self is smart enough to give priority to the things your using. And after 10 - 20 minutes of not using an app android closes it auto.
So don't use those unless if its a default one by T-Mobile/Samsung

Nope. But it's a known culprit for being a huge battery waster. I'd say cut your loses and freeze it. There's better alternatives on the market.

Back when I had the captivate, the facebook app crashed incessantly. With the GII, however, I haven't had it crash even once.
I usually remove the one in /system and install it from Market.
The current version is MUCH better than it was in early 2011. I've only had it go nuts on the wakelocks once.

I have been using Friendcaster Pro ever since a couple weeks after buying my Infuse back in June, and will be using it when I get my SGS2 today. Way better app. The last major update even added a dark theme which made me love it even more.
Facebook app always sucked.
Is the only difference between pro and free the ads?

facebook for the sgs2 is one of the better experiences. other phones have more problems than ours. granted i still hate it. it kills the battery, is unreliable with notifications, unintuitive, and just complete and utter crap
How do notifications in friend caster work. please tell me they arent email based.

The facebook app on iphone is a joke. If you try to view a picture from someone 50% of the time it won't load the same picture you clicked on, and when it does load the right one and you comment on it, it leaves the comment on a completely different picture.

I am trying to find a save with 100% complete since cheats aren't supported yet...
Tried swapping it with PC saves but not working so far...
Why not just play through it and enjoy it? Getting a 100% just to do what, drive around and run from cops? Boring...

Blackberry sems to be the only one with a reliable + official Facebook app from my experience.
And that phone is for dinosaurs.
Neither my iPod Touch 4 or EVO gets them consistently.
The facebook app is an embarrassment to that company. I truly can't believe they havent done something about it. Google+ has one of the best looking and functioning mobile apps I have personally ever used, fb should take notes.

The FB app sucked on the OG EVO. It's not the phone. It's ridiculous that a website of that stature has such a crappy app.
I agree, the app is so slow I usually just give up before the content is fully loaded and turn on my computer haha.
Slow as hell on my One X aswell, almost bought an s3 in a rage
You would figure for a multi billion dollar company they could do a simple app. It worked way better before they added everything. I normally go through the browser anyways. I don't need up to date notifications but if you did why not turn on text notification? I mean you get unlimited texts anyways.

Funny you mention that. I haven't noticed any ads on the mobile version and I figure they just use our data as "payment". Overall I kind of want to ween off of Facebook. I feel they sold out just at the right time.

Ww need a new social network. Every dog has it's day, and maybe Facebook has had theirs? Although it should be a network defined by it's users, not controlled by profit and exposure.
FYI, the facebook app for Blackberry is actually made by RIM, but with facebook's support. That's why it doesn't suck as bad.
Also, facebook's app on iOS (both iPhones and iPads) suck. Countless mistakes and bugs and they never update it either. I usually just end up using the mobile web version of it.
They have no real mobile strategy. That's why the stock is crapping out. If they had a plan to make $$$ off a mobile platform they might care about its quality and ability to draw customers for advertisers.

At least with Sense's Friendstream, Facebook at least seems functional (to a degree).
Google+ is great, just none of my friends are on it lol, but it does things Facebook wish it could do. I love the messenger on G+. While trying to use Facebook's, snail mail may be a more effective use of time lol.

I usually get over 300 mb. I use Mean ROM though, that plays a factor in how much free RAM I am getting.
I normally have over 250mb free..which is perfectly fine with me except....the phone was advertised to hold 1gb of ram..I did not expect sense to take up almost have of it.

I always use the phone..but if I kill all apps using task manager , I get up to 400 mb free. Then random services begin on their own and memory begins to bog down a bit.
Again, memory or lag isn't a prob for me. Just would love to use the full ram

Linux based systems don't work the same way as windows based systems. Available RAM is not very important. I would advise not using a task manager or service killing application. Instead... Use the home button to exit an application that you intend to use again soon and the back button to exit an application that you are finished with. Allow android to handle RAM by itself.

Actually they work highly similarly, since Vista. Both OSes use large amounts of RAM for cache, since there is literally zero reason not to. There's no performance impact. In fact, it's usually worse if you try to maintain a high level of free RAM, since it means no caching (slower app loading).
I recently bought a Nexus 4 and I would like to avoid losing it.
I'm very careful, but being it an object of 350 bucks, I would like to be extremely careful.
Does anyone had a good experience with an app and can suggest it? I have no problem in spending some money on it, but it must work with/without internet connection (so I can save my phone with an sms if there isn't internet connection).
Actually I found "Locate My Droid" but I noticed there are various apps of this type, so before buying a PRO version I would like to know some well known names where I can choose from.
