What did you do and what options did you try?

i do this
adb pull /system/build.prop build.prop
build.prop was copied to my d:\tools folder (whatever folder your adb tools is in).
Then I added dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit at the end of the file,i modified 30m#, saved it,
then copied and ran each line of code below one by one in the command prompt:
adb push build.prop /sdcard/jit/build.prop
adb shell
su
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock0 /system
cp /system/build.prop /sdcard/dalbk/
cp /system/bin/dalvikvm /sdcard/dalbk/
cp /system/lib/libdvm.so /sdcard/dalbk/
cp /system/lib/libnativehelper.so /sdcard/dalbk/
cd /sdcard/jit/bin
cp -f dalvikvm /system/bin/
busybox chmod 755 /system/bin/dalvikvm
cd /sdcard/jit
cp -f libdvm.so /system/lib/
cp -f libnativehelper.so /system/lib/
cat build.prop >/system/build.prop
chmod 644 /system/lib/libdvm.so
chmod 644 /system/lib/libnativehelper.so
chmod 666 /system/build.prop
sync
rm /data/dalvik-cache/*
reboot

what if you turn your mini pro on with the back key holding?
the green led burns?
and go out after a around 5-20 seconds?
please give us some information about what your devices still does

I used this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9155083&postcount=66
and its working great and its simpler way to do it than --__LoRiS__--s way
I had 3,7 MFLOPS before. Now I have approximately 7 MFLOPS.
--__LoRiS__-- what about your numbers?

I have restored my phone with pc companion, at the moment i don't have Jit in my phone !

With this guide my phone is jit!
Restore phone via Pc companion
Install z4root on phone and root the phone, copy busybox in root of sd and install it by
rootexplorer installed by iAPK
Create 2 folders on micro SD : jit and dalbk , extract vmlibs in jit then:
Timeout screen 10 min, busybox installed
adb pull /system/build.prop build.prop
build.prop was copied to my d:\tools folder (whatever folder your adb tools is in).
Then I added dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit at the end of the file, modified 30m, saved it,
then copied and ran each line of code below one by one in the command prompt:
adb push build.prop /sdcard/jit/build.prop
adb shell
su
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock0 /system
cp /system/build.prop /sdcard/dalbk/
cp /system/bin/dalvikvm /sdcard/dalbk/
cp /system/lib/libdvm.so /sdcard/dalbk/
cp /system/lib/libnativehelper.so /sdcard/dalbk/
cd /sdcard/jit/bin
cp -f dalvikvm /system/bin/
busybox chmod 755 /system/bin/dalvikvm
cd /sdcard/jit
cp -f libdvm.so /system/lib/
cp -f libnativehelper.so /system/lib/
cat build.prop >/system/build.prop
chmod 644 /system/lib/libdvm.so
chmod 644 /system/lib/libnativehelper.so
chmod 666 /system/build.prop
sync
rm /data/dalvik-cache/*
reboot

the olny thing why to use this metod rather than one I posted could be better performance (tutorial I posted is realy simple and working).
Post your stats!

Quadrant : now i get 567 but this afternoon i got around 580
Neocore:46,1 but this afternoon 48.0
I think there are differences because now i installed a custom home with widget and i restored all my apps with titanium, there is more ram used!
An other benchmark app for Mflops?
Sorry for my bad english...

Quadrant 621
Neocore 45.8
App2sd ported most apps to sd card
So got high I/O
JITv002 installed
And launcher pro plus installed

try linpack for android, I will try quadrant too
my quadrant: 570
no app2sd, using launcherpro and no killing app

621 in quadrant ? it's very good, can i get the settings for this score?
In linpack i got 3976 , how can i speed up my phone ?how can i install jit v002 with the jit enabled?
Can i edit my build.prop with modding this lines in your guide ?
changed this:
#DEVICE_PROVISIONED=1
dalvik.vm.heapsize=30m
#kernel.log=default
debug.sf.hw=1
Where is the build prop for edit it?

Any Dev interested for testing all my future releases for the mini?
I ask developers for help to try out finding how to get the drivers for the non-working hardware parts to work. Simply said, you need to copy drivers from the SE 2.1 build to this build and report if it worked and which files were used.
Changelog:
v0.2a is up! Prepared the system for future drivers, little faster, ext4 support for apps2sd. Also for the mini fixed xrecovery thanks to peetr_
v0.2 Alpha is up! Fixed a lot: SD, Touchscreen, xRecovery, OpenGL
v0.1 Technical Preview / Pre-Alpha released for developers.

i did try same thing but with clean wildfire [didn't get very far tho] [becouse work on kitchen] ... will download this too and see...
Problems on boot.
Or better no boot at all.
I made a full wipe, flashed the .zip and then these commands:
PHP:
adb shell
cd /system/bin
/system/bin/chmod 755 busybox
./busybox --install -s /system/xbin
./busybox --install -s /system/bin
After that reboot and stuck on Sony Ericsson white letters.
tried the mount command too but still no luck
PS: Something weird though. Xrecovery still working on me!

Thanks for the info! This means I have to rebuild the ramdisk to have it work on the x10 mini. Oh one thing I forgot to state is that this NEEDS an ext2 partition on the sdcard (apps2sd not removed yet) and that the first boot will take ages stuck on the bootscreen since it's copying all apps over.
Could you adb pull system/bin/chargemon, open the file in notepad and send the content to me? Of the installed rom, that is.
In the update.zip package there is both an chargemon and chargemon~ file left over from text editing it with Ubuntu. Problem is that I can't acces the file through Nautilus (Ubuntu's version of Windows Explorer)

The commands that you have to run after installing are updated, would you mind giving it a try?
I think you can write in the first post, that its working on mini. And that we have to install busybox before leaving xrecovery.
But i must say again, it is too slow in this alpha version. Hope it can be faster in later versions.

First thing, you have to change chargemon to event1 for mini

Farsi/arabic support (connecting the arabic letters together)

Froyo can show arabic letters but they are not connected ,any APK to support Arabic letters and connect the letters together ?
thanx in advance
I second this...
Patch your system with Streakdroid 1.7
Copy framework.jar from system\framework
patch it using arabic scripter from ce4arab Add the new framework.jar on Streakdroid 1.7 zip file then do master reset and patch it again
copy libwebcore.so to lib ( you will get it from the same page)
you will get connected letters

how do u patch?

Can this be done via root explorer thanks.
Unfortunately it cannot because your device will shutdown on changing the files and it won't be able to boot. The reason why the above commands work is that they freeze your phone in current state while the files are copied and deleted.
However as some adb commands do not run on android 2.2, you need busybox.
Sorry for the late reply, but I wasn't available for a while.

[Q] OPENVPN Wolfbreak CM 6.1.3 V5 problem

ok..so ive recently flash my X10i stock 2.1 eclair to Wolfbreak CM 6.1.3 v5
and im having problems regarding my Openvpn settings.
**cant check my config files
so what i did is to follow the old thread regarding the old openvpn settings for eclair and issue this following command on terminal emulator
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock2 /system
busybox insmod /sdcard/openvpn/tun.ko
busybox cp /sdcard/openvpn/openvpn /system/xbin/openvpn
busybox cp /sdcard/openvpn/openvpn /system/xbin/tun.ko
chmod 700 /system/xbin/openvpn
mkdir /system/xbin/bb
busybox ln -s /system/bin/busybox /system/xbin/bb/ifconfig
busybox ln -s /system/bin/busybox /system/xbin/bb/route
busybox mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock2 /system
busybox cp /sdcard/openvpn/chargemon /system/bin/chargemon
busybox cp /sdcard/openvpn/busybox /system/bin/busybox
reboot
Click to collapse
then my X10i will reboot and will start acting up. Force close keeps on popping and the device will automatically restart.
ive used those command when i used 2.1 eclair before and everything is working fine.
if anyone could enlighten me about this will be a great help.
also if you need other info, you can pm me or reply to my post.
this is my old working settings when i used eclair.
1.rooting my phone
2.install busy box
3.install terminal emulator
4.install openvpn application
5.install openvpn settings
6. issue this command in terminal
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock2 /system
busybox insmod /sdcard/openvpn/tun.ko
busybox cp /sdcard/openvpn/openvpn /system/xbin/openvpn
busybox cp /sdcard/openvpn/openvpn /system/xbin/tun.ko
chmod 700 /system/xbin/openvpn
mkdir /system/xbin/bb
busybox ln -s /system/bin/busybox /system/xbin/bb/ifconfig
busybox ln -s /system/bin/busybox /system/xbin/bb/route
busybox mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock2 /system
busybox cp /sdcard/openvpn/chargemon /system/bin/chargemon
busybox cp /sdcard/openvpn/busybox /system/bin/busybox
reboot
Click to collapse
7.open the config file and wait for it to connect.
but those above mention steps doesnt work anymore in 2.2 froyo cm 6.1.3 of wolfbreak
tried it and my phone starts acting up.
reflash again, this time openvpn settings is the only application i installed because as far as i know, wolfbreak custom rom is already been rooted and includes busy box and openvpn application but no luck..
help please.
Hi There!
I think you've followed my old thread so i've made this very same codes work on every Froyo Modded ROM... Wolfbreak already have the openvpn binary installed in /system/xbin so you'll have to do 1 extra step.
1.- Open Terminal Emulator and issue this comand
Code:
rm -r /system/xbin/openvpn
mkdir /system/xbin/bb
ln -s /system/bin/busybox /system/xbin/bb/ifconfig
ln -s /system/bin/busybox /system/xbin/bb/route
cp /sdcard/openvpn/tun.ko /system/lib/modules/tun.ko
chmod 644 /system/lib/modules/tun.ko
2.- Download OpenVPN installer from Market (Free)
3.- Click on Install and choose the following options and you'll see two screens:
3.1 - In the first one choose "/system/xbin"
3.2 - In the Second one choose "System/xbin/bb"
4.- Go to OpenVPN settings and go to Advanced>TUN module Settings>Path to tun module> This should be /system/lib/modules/tun.ko
5.- Choose your OpenVPN configuration and you'll be done.
Report back if this helps... At least i've test it in the following ROMS:
* Trip's MIUI Roms
* Wolf's CM Roms (all Variants)
* Zdizihu's Free X10
* Jerpelea's CM 7 GB Roms
thanks mate for the reply,
anyway, i somehow manage to fix the above mention problem and somehow got my config file to get connected using the above post.
but everytime it get connected, a lot of errors occur.
1.force closed.... .....
2.linux....error....... .....fork error...
i cant remember the whole error message because it only pops up for a bit.
tried to reflash twice but to no avail, same results hapen.
so i gave up and flash back to 2.1 kx10 aosp and everything is working again..

[Q] Developing an app, need help with code.

hey!
im developing an app but its a secret what it is about so i cant tell u to mouch
anyways, im needing help with the code.
Q2?
its very similar to the xRecovery installer for the x10, like when u press 'install' button it copys some files to the system folder, how can i do so?
ex: i want to copy derp.sh to /sdcard/derp.sh and the run the 'derp.sh' file all this from the installer.
Q2?
is it possible to send adb commands from the installer to the phone like "adb shell" or run sh files from the installer?
Q3?
is it possile to add a line of text to 'hw_config' file in 'modules' folder?

Haha, slightly faster.
A tip for you : if you want to create a fast root image, you can create a tarball of an existing rooted image in adb shell and extract that to your working-system image (the one to be rooted):
Code:
tar -cpvzf preroot-pack.tgz /system/app/Superuser.apk /system/app/su /system/xbin/
(including the /system/xbin if you have busybox, so that you don't have to do the tedious flash+repack method)

Excelent, im using a self-made script to:
auto sin to img
mount
push Superuser, su, busybox and check permissions
delete 'custom apps' (if wanted) from:
etc/customization/applications
etc/product/applicationsmake the new rooted system.img
delete temporal/old system.img system.sin and system folder.
all done in debian on Virtualbox ~5min aprox

well, here is the script, now making prerooted system.img on 55secs with a virtual machine XD
Code:
#!/bin/bash
echo Creando imagen...
./sin2img.py system.sin system.img
echo Montando imagen...
mkdir system; mount -o loop system.img system
echo Borrando apps...
rm -r system/etc/customization/applications
rm -r system/etc/product/applications
echo Creando root...
cp Superuser.apk system/app/
cp su system/bin/
cp busybox system/xbin/
chmod 644 system/app/Superuser.apk
chmod 06755 system/bin/su
chmod 06755 system/xbin/busybox
echo Creando imagen...
./mkuserimg.sh -s /home/adrian/android/system ./system2.img ext4 ./temp 1024M
echo Desmontando imagen original...
umount system
echo Borrando archivos temporales...
rm -r system
rm system.img
echo Finalizado.
Echoes are in shpanish but i think they are easy to understand XD
If something is unclear feel free to ask, im nooby on linux but some hours of lots of guides can make you fly.

Hi Yakandu,
Thanks a lot for this piece of code, it helps me understant how to customize firmware
I have a question about that. When the script finishes, how do you use the system2.img created ? Is Flashtool able to use it or do you have a way to get a system2.sin back ?
Cheers.
How to root my xperia s?
Here you go
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23868276
Next time try to use search..
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
Please, to root this firmware, i use the same method on this topic?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23868276 (Connect device in fastboot mode (blue LED).
Open Command prompt and type: fastboot flash system system_xps_prerooted_63fw.img - This will give you root immediatly after reboot!)
Or, i need flash stock rom and flash preroot image with Flash tools ? (If yes, with flash tools, the sistem image i place in folder "firmware" ?)
I am asking for help because I am new to this device and did not understand that part.
Already unlocked my bootloader.
Thanks.

Thanks for the help.
But I want to make root without changing the kernel (DoomKernel), because I've been reading that has some minor bugs.
The methods I mentioned just above, are correct?
The script given here quite help alot but I'm still blur about root the firmware...
haih...
