I've already tested all ways to flash to my county rom 2.1 and I have no result so I need help with it. I downgraded to 1.6 NR like is written in main page of this threat and then root, changed all three numbers in build.props, turned off and then hold beck button to green light and update to 2.1 with SEUS, but when I looked into build.props of new 2.1 system there is the same build.props as before in NR ROM. I don't know what to do. I've tried changing just number afted CDF or after whole CDF and nothing happend. What I did bad. My telephone was from CZ/Vodafone.
Sorry for my bad English and maby for bad section. =)
Yeah I have the same problem. I am from India unlocked x10minipro.
Even after changing the nos i get the same NR 2.1.
Helppppppppppppp.....
Please.
I really don´t know how to next, becouse if something happens I need to have original region firmware reclaim with warranty and so I want to use my region ROM, that is updated to 2.1
OK, I would recommend you to get the build.prop from someone who has the country firmware that you all want.
If you just want to change to an UK generic ROM, just go the the topic
"GUIDE: Mini Pro (U20) change to any firmware (generic\debrand)" and download the build.prop on the 1st page.
Then use the root explorer, go to system and copy paste it (substitute) there.
Turn off phone, connect to SEUS (as if you were updating the software).
VERY IMPORTANT - delete the db folder in SEUS before you do it.
And it should download and install a generic UK ROM 2.1.
Good luck, and if you get other build.props from other countries you will get those instead installed on your phone.
I already have have US ROM but I want my CZ/Vodafone regional ROM but with no results. I rewrited build.prop and if I updated with SEUS I am still on US ROM.
Philalerts, what you are experiencing is probably due to the fact that you have already downloaded the US ROM on your PC, that is why SEUS will install it automatically.
What you need to do is root - root explorer - change build.prop to the pretended version CZ in your case - save!.
Than you shut down the phone, and go to the place were you have your SEUS installed and DELETE the entire db folder "C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db".
That is where your US ROM is. After that you run SEUS again, and update. You should have a new CZ ROM in your next boot.
Good luck / Hodne stesti (my Cz used to be better
I have already done it by your way last time and before I send this topic, so I asked. I updated it with SEUS with clean install on my notebook, so I don't have any US ROM already downloaded.
When I edit build.prop with root explorer, what I did, then I turn off phone and update. Have I to restart it and try to update after that?

Even after uninstalling SEUS i still get the NL fw ????????

I need to make my X10 mini pro like it was when i bought it, software wise for service purposes. Has anybody tried to do so ? I have Root, xRecovery, JIT, app2sd, Generic 2.0.2.A.0.24[rooted](from this forum) and Android 2.3 Ginger Bread Theme Nexus S edition theme. If anybody found a guide or could give me step by step pointers I would be very appreciative. THX in advance.
You might need to swap your build.prop for a Romanian one? (possibly ask on here and someone might be able to give you a copy if you didn't back up yours before you flashed the rooted firmware) or edit yours with the right details then..
Backup your settings, contacts, txt's etc with Backup and Restore. and Flash the phone using SEUS (Sony Ericsson update service) (if it says you are already up to date then use the recovery option) you can download SEUS from here if you don't have it.
hope that helps.

Yeap, just do what kiwiBratwurst said... You may want to format your sdcard too to get rid of the ext4 partition...

So all I have to do is update/recover using SEUS and that's it ! No traces of JIT or custom prerooted Generic ROM will be left ? About build.prop, why do I have to modify it and how will I know what to modify ? Sorry about all these questions but i'm a newb and my touchscreen is making a buzzing noise whenever I touch it so you understand my concern and why I want to ship it into service. Can't figure out if the problem is hardware or software related, this started happening after .504 SEUS update.
Well you could forget the Build.prop edit and just restore/repair/update (whatever its called) with SEUS (but then your phone will say its from Norway, I think you will have the Norwegian Firmware if you flashed the rooted .24 firmware from here) (you could just try that tho and pretend you didn't know any better)
if you want to try to edit your build.prop (backup the old one first in case you stuff it up!!) I am not sure about the Pro (I have a mini) but pull your battery out and look under it, there should be a sticker with info about your phone.. it has on there an 8 digit number 1234-1234 obviously not that but something with 8 numbers.. this is your kit number, if you are able to modify your build.prop and change the kit number in it to your number then it may work.. (I think from memory the number appears 3 times in the build.prop file. )
There is also a place where it says WORLD Generic or Custom.. I don't know what this should be on Romanian Build.prop.. (it's too late now but.. its always a good idea to backup your system files before playing with flashing that way you have all the original files if you need to revert)
just another thought... if you have updated the phone in the past with SEUS (with the correct firmware) 1.6 or 2.1 whatever.. you could look in the SEUS folder on your computer (program files/sony ericsson/Update service/db) and copy the 2 largest files out of there and use the Converter tool.. Here and you can make your own Original Romanian Firmware to flash with Bin4rys flashtool. (you might need to flick through the post to find x10mini/pro relevant file names.. etc... ) But handy to have because then any time you need to revert back to factory you can just flash the Romanian firmware with Flashtool
Man.. sorry to prattle on.. hope it helps in some way.

I believe the new SEUS doesn´t have repair option anymore.
Hi all
i have a X10 mini E10i which i bought just before chrismas.
i updated it to the latest version .24 which at the time was unrootable which made me want to downgrade and had many many problems doing that.
then after many tries some how i got the 504 flashed and working.
now my problem is the following.
1- i cant get xrecovery to work no matter what i do. and believe me i tried everything.
2- i cant get it to update to .24 again, i tried SEUS but it says i have the latest version installed. i tried to look for the build.prop file but it does not exist, i have instead a file named default-capability. which doesnt have the same values everybody here is talking about.
i need help and many thanks in advance.
I'm having the same problem!
I did the SEUS repair this morning and I'm stuck too!
non-signed apps aren't working for me.

Thats cos youre reading the memory stick, or the /etc directory.
Get your phone rooted as it is, download root explorer, then launch it.
Go to system directory, copy it over to your memory stick, then upload it here.
Also, are you using Mini, or Mini Pro?
Yes, i want back to orignal firmware so I downgrade to 0.A.504, then i use SEUS but it say i used lastest version. How to update my phone to 0.A.24 now? Replace file build.prop, maybe?

How to update to 0.A.0.24 after downgrade? (using SEUS, not flash tool)
Anyone show me.. pls
Hello everyone, I'm new here so sorry if I'm doing something wrong, I tried to search but couldn't find anything related to my problem!
I'm running in a little trouble trying to recover to my local factory firmware with SEUS since last friday, reading a lot of threads here and at other forums with no luck.
Hope someone could enlight me.
[EDIT to what is happening right know]
The history log:
- I update my U20a (1239-7686) mini pro with PC Companion as soon as I bought it to 2.1.1.A.0.6.
- Then I rooted, tried hundreds apps, removed other dozen with Titanium Backup installed JIT and then I had the "brilliant" to reset from the inside android menu wondering that my firmware will return fresh and clean, big mistake.
- After trying three different firmwares and versions (including downgrading to 1.6) with FlashTool 0.2.9.1 I finally found that with this one SEUS recognize my phone and repair it.
The problem is that when I edit build.prop to my factory CDF number, SEUS do not recognize it anymore. What am I doing wrong? Any clue??
just a thought...
Did you try force method?
Use seperated SE Update software not update from pccampanion.
Then when you have selected model etc etc enter in flash mode and let it finish with flashing ... works in 99% time..
what worked for me
I had about the same problem, but managed to sort it out with the Flash Tool.
Check if the latest firmware has been downloaded by the SE Updater Service to /Program Files/Sony Ericsson/Updater Service/db/. (check the size, there should be about 100+ MB in there).
If so, you can use the Flash Tool to :
1) decrypt the files in the .../db/12345678/ folder
2) build a package from the newly decrypted .sin files (the build package window will open right after the decryption), select all the .sin files, name the package and go
3) flash that package to your phone.
I hope this will work for you too.

I tried with PC Companion, and SE Update Service, both softwares available from SE website.
If you mean I should use SE Update Service, that's exactly the problem, it doesn't work. Otherwise I don't know what you mean about force method.

I didn't try this because SE Updater stops right after I choose the Mini Pro, it tells me I have the lastest firmware no matter what firmware I've flashed, even 1.6. Just to be sure I'll check this when I go back home.
Try to change the custom revision number too inside the build.prop, it helped for me before. Eg from R4B to R3B.

Good idea, thks! Do you try a random value?
okay im making this guide for those of you who need 2.1.1.a.6 on your e10a, so you can have 3G and flash custom ROMs
requirements:
-SEUS installed in your computer, which you can download from www.seus.tk
- Your phone must be Rooted (if its not follow one of the many guides here at xda)
- Root Explorer (or a similar one in which you can mod system files)
- Your current ROM has to be for the e10a, which means you need to have 3G available, if you dont use the flashtool and flash either 1.6 or 2.1 but for e10a
Step by step:
1. Download the build.prop attached below (unzip it)
2. connect your phone to your computer and put it in the root of the sdcard
3. using root explorer move the build.prop to /system your gonna replace it with the one you curenty have (remember to mount R/W)
4. once replaced turn off the phone, wait 30 seconds and turn it on again
5. wait till the phone boots completely then turn it off again.
6. BE SURE TO HAVE MORE THAN 70% BATTERY BEFORE DOING THIS: open SEUS and choose x10 mini and follow the steps on screen
7.SEUS should tell you theres an update for your phone so click on update (if it doesnt tell you there and update choose repair) wait till the flash process is over
and there you have it now youre ready to flash custom ROMs with 3G!!
DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE!
yeah! thanks man! i've been looking for this a long time, and it worked perfectly, now i can flash a new rom on my E10a
Thanks, will give this a try.
Locks my phone from my simcard
Just tried this and it works, but after updating my X10 mini (E10a) gets simcard locked and asks for an unlock code. If I root and revert to the older version of android I can use the phone again. I am using a mini from Claro Puerto Rico. Anyone else having this issue?
try using stock 2.1 rom but any unbranded one thats for the e10a that might fix it

Im looking to update from 1.6 to 2.1
its compatible?
when you say have to revert to the older version, which one?
thanks in advance
you wouldn't need to do anything special, even root your phone if you only want 2.1 stock.
SE 2.1 stock is available just using the sony ericsson PC companion, you can just click update phone
I've read many posts and sites, but I simply can't find an updated method to debrand or simply update my branded x10 mini.
PC Companion says my phone is already updated, but it's still on 2.0.A.0.504.
How to update my x10 mini? Do I have to debrand it firstly or can I simply flash a generic and updated firmware?
Edit.: I've read some more posts and I think I've found the solution.
1. Root.
2. Install ClockworkMod (from this link).
3. Reboot and open CWM recovery.
4. Backup.
5. Install zip (this ROM) from sdcard.
6. Update with PC Companion to properly update baseband and install the SE stock ROM.
Is that the right procedure? Any advice?
I think you can just edit the build.prop file with RootExplorer to allow the phone to be updated with SEUS. Search the forums for the correct codes to put in the file. I think the UK-Generic variant is the most desirable, at leats it is for my x10 mini pro
Hello. Than you for your post.
I've decided to flash a generic firmware using Davinciteam service. I've used their service before, I know it's something of good quality.
I've read about that build.prop file and changing some value inside it, but I'm afraid of bricking my phone (I've read that a wrong code can brick the phone).
I'm going to try Davinciteam service. If it doesn't work, I'll look more into build.prop.
