no, this the true untouched se rom.
"test mode" is just the name i randomly choose in bundle creation wizards.
You have to put version name, model name and a reference name, my reference name was this one...
Its a test also because i flash my wifes mini throught seus and decripted this files after.
Its usefull for mini owner whose cannot upgrade throught seus.
I recomend to make a backup in xrecovery menu and after try flash this one(as regular procedure prior any upgrade.)
best,
Pedro
tested, work great. thanks
EDIT: mmm.. finaly, buggy release
dont install it
Thanks for this, my decrypting was crap and never quite worked.
What version is this? If you're Brazillian, is it a South-American version? The Nordic firmware gets updated first usually.

I had the same problem.
The way I used to install newest 2.1.1.A.06:
- With Flash tool, install 2.1 Nordic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825664,
- Use SEUS to update on 2.1.1.A.06
At first time, i installed the 2.1 French with Flashtool. I never received any update with SEUS; It said to me that I have the newest Installed. With Nordic, It said to me directly that and update is available and installed me the newest
Hop that help you

Hi,
Phone will be still rooted.
The upgrade is incremental(means it will mess with only few partitions).
best,
Pedro
Really great work and good idea....
Just works....
Doesn't work for me. Can't update with SEUS or PC Companion. They both tell me there are no updates for me. Even REPAIR doesn't work.
EDIT: It's working now. All of sudden ?????????
Super User Prob.
It works for me and this version is more stabe and faster in performace,,,but my happyness is half coz the SU isn't working!!!!
@pedrocel85 dude pls check ur PM....i discribed my problem in it!!!!
I read from other posts saying this update is slowing down the phone. And it really isn't any better than previous version...
I can't upgrade my E10a via SEUS and PC Companion (with a E10i unbranded nordic firmware .504). I tried with I and a firmware. When I use your build.prop on the nordic one, I can upgrade via settings>about phone>software update. It download an actualization (about 35mb), the phone reboot and a process of 4 steps begins. When the second starts, the phone boots normally. When it'n on, a mesage appears: "can't upgrade"
I really want this firmware :-(
Sent from my E10i using XDA App
I would advice people to use this method with caution, cause it just bricked my phone.
Did exactly what he stated, and there after its stuck on the "Sony Ericsson" boot screen, and can't get it connected to SEUS, cause I cannot turn it off.
Works on mini pro too?
Funciona no Mini Pro também?
Having a few issues. Yesterday while using the twitter app, my Xperia X10 froze. I waited for like 5 minutes but it was still stuck so i took out the battery and put it back in. I restarted the phone and then my Wifi stopped working. After alot of reboots, wifi started to pick my wifi connection but then it would connect and give me limited connectivity. I did a few more reboots and then i think i went into xrecovery and by mistake recovered my phone to some earlier date which completely messed up my phone. Now i cant access my ROM i can only use xrecovery. If i try to load past the xrecovery, it shows the Sony Ericsson screen and then it goes blank, The notification light shows a white signal and then it restarts.. Then again it shows the SE Screen and again the white notification light and again restart.. this keeps on happening.
Anyway i decided it was time to install a new rom and it would solve my problems.. I put my phone in Xrecovery and tried to mount the SDcard but the memory card just wont show up on my computer for some reason..
Anyway then i took a card reader and put the roms on the root of my card and then put my card back into my phone.. After that i tried to install the custom zip but it gives me the error E: Cant mount /sdcard (device or resource busy)
WTF?
Can someone help me im clueless !!!
Okey i flashed the 2.1 Rom now.. Do i need to root my phone again? Do i need to install xrecovery again? :S
Hi if you flashed the stock 2.1 ROM then yes you will have to root the phone again and install xrecovery. I reckon you should update to 2.3.3 first using either flashtool, PC companion or SEUS which ever you prefer. Then root using flashtool 0.4.2 and install xrecovery using flashtool as well. Good luck hope this helps.
What rom do you use when phone froze? And why you flash first 2,1 rom? You must first flash 2.3, then root, install xrecovery, (unlock bootloaders if you want) and thats all
I was using 2.3.3 Wolfbreak i think ! Not sure.. Updated a 2-3 months back.
I flashed 2.1 because i read somewhere thats what people did when they got the mount sdcard problem in xrecovery.
Sorry if i sound like a noob but whats a bootloader and why would i unlock it?
Anyway im downloading 2.3.3 first and will then install xrecovery. I want to install one of the MIUI ROM's.. Which one should i install? Which one is the most stable and has the most features?
Unlocked bootloaders just allows change boot logo I think) And for miui I'd suggest oddie or a1exander roms, they are stable and everthing work
Sorry for bad english
Thanks !!!
Installing 2.3.3 right now. Will let you guys know if there's any problem.. Thanks again
Before you install xrecovery don't forget to root first I would use flashtool 0.4.2 for this check out the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746 The bootloader as i understand it is basically the very start of the bootup loads the kernel then the ROM loads. The white Sony Ericsson logo when you fist power on the phone is generated by the bootloader. A couple of reasons to unlock the bootloader are to load custom kernels faster an they are more stable this way instead of the bootloader bypass method. Some ROM's e.g Cyanogenmod need an unlocked bootloader I believe. BEWARE I heard of people bricking there phone during the unlock process i would do plenty of research before unlocking. I would have a read of these threads before unlocking your bootloader http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254087 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253277&highlight=unlock+bootloader+proper+method . I still have not been game enough to unlock my bootloader yet phone still under warranty thought. Good luck nothing wrong with being a noob we all start some where I am a noob too just with lots of reading and experimentation behind me.
Thanks !
Okey well im going for this:
1. Flash 2.3.3 Rom using flashtool
2. Install xrecovery using flash tool
3. Install Alexander's miui by using custom zip in xrecovery (right?)
That should be it? Do i really need to unlock boot loader? Dont really want to mess anything up
Firts root and then install xrecovery Don't install Alexander miui version 11, wait tomorow. 11v have many bugs:/ Don't afraid nulock bootloaders, just read instructions, not rush and everything be okay
Forry for bad english.
2.3.3 installed.
Trying to root it, But flashtool's root button is greyed out ?
Installl drivers from flashtool folder?
Done but still greyed out.. Also enabled USB debugging and unknown applications in the phone
Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196808 read instructions and be happy You must first install kernel I think:/
How do i install kernel ?
You don't need to install a kernel yet you have the stock kernel installed already from the 2.3.3 install. Have you put the phone in flash mode before you try and root it. If not put it in flash mode then try and root. Note the op posted is using the old version of flashtool so it will look a bit different.
In that post all write just read You know how put phone in flash mode?
Nope.. The root option in flashtool is just greyed out no matter if im in flash mode or not.
My kernel is 2.6.29-00054-g5f01537 [email protected] #1
Android: 2.3.3
Baseband: 2.1.71
Buildnumber: 3.0.1.G.0.75
I hope i flashed the correct 2.3.3 rom? I had a 2.3.3 rom by the name of x10_2.3_aro.ftf I flashed that.
Don't understand. Just follow intructions in my link. No matter that flashtool version old, it makes their job.
Sorry for bad english.
OK I think you need to go back to basics download Sony PC companion and update or repair your firmware from there that way you know you had the right version of firmware for your phone. Firmware can be carrier dependant. Once this is done then try to root using flashtool
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Alright, so I've been working on this issue for about 3 days now. Everytime I think I make headway, nothing seems to come about. I, for all intents and purposes, am completely stuck and need help.
Here are my phone stats
Android 2.3.3, Generic Stock, Unrooted, Locked Bootloader
Sony Ericsson X10i
Baseband 2.1.71
Build Number 3.0.1.G.0.75
Kernel Version [email protected] #1
For my experience, I'm fairly capable around solving problems. I've rooted my phone before, and was running TripNRaver's MIUI for my X10. Worked decent, however I was wanting to upgrade it to a new ROM. Decided to go with A1exander's MIUI. I downloaded all the needed items, unlocked my bootloader without a problem, flashed the ROM via XRecovery, and (like an idiot) put the sim card in backwards. Didn't realize this until AFTER I had tried to change the baseband down to 2.1.54. When it simply froze on the SE screen, I tried to revert it back to 2.1.71. Obviously, this didn't work either, so I reverted it back to Stock 2.1, From there I tried to root it like I did before, however it would not root. I then upgraded it to 2.3.3 to follow the instructions on the new rooting methods. Everything I tried to do, from Flashtool, to SuperOneClick, would not let it root. No SuperUser program was installed. After trying this multiple times, following the instructions to the letter, and watching the videos many times, there was no rooting of this phone by those methods.
Here is the error message I get from Flash Tool
06/032/2011 22:32:20 - ERROR - Cannot identify your device. Found while expecting X10, E10, U20 or E15 (read from ro.product.model from build.prop)
From there, I select "X10" and this shows
06/032/2011 22:32:22 - INFO - Connected device : X10
06/032/2011 22:32:22 - INFO - Installed version of busybox :
Now, even if I install Busybox from the Market, it still shows the same message. So, I go into ADB, pull the build.prop and see what's going on there, this is what it shows.
ro.product.model=X10i
ro.product.model=rachael#
ro.product.brand=Sony-Ericsson#
ro.product.name=rachael#
ro.product.device=rachael
ro.product.board=es209ra
ro.product.cpu.abi=armeabi-v7a
ro.product.cpu.abi2=armeabi
ro.product.manufacturer=Sony Ericsson
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=GB
So, I edit the build.prop to reflect X10, however I can't push it back to the system folder, as it tells me it is a read-only folder. Trying to remount in ADB says operation not permitted.
So, that's where I'm at, A stock X10, running 2.3.3, non-rooted, non-unlocked bootloader. I have SuperOneClick, Flash Tool, ADB, SDK Manager, PC Companion.
Please help me figure out what I need to do to get this rooted, and start running A1exander's MIUI. Thanks!
My first suggestion.
Borrow someone elses sim card to see if its that (It probably isnt but good to make sure)
Second.
Have you got the latest flashtool?
Well, I'm certain the SIM card is good. Right now, running on Stock 2.3.3, it runs as good as a stock ROM could be, no issues there. I'll try my wife's SIM and see if that could be it.
[UPDATE] It's not the SIM card, just tried my wife's and the same thing happens.
Second, my Flashtool is 0.2.9.1
Java Ver. 1.6.0_24
OS ver. 6.1
You probably need to reflash an older 2.1 with an older basband and kernel... then start from there by rooting it and installing xrecovery 3...
Its been a while but I recall that 2.3.3 stock was not easily root-able
there was some kind of trick where you use flashtool and install the kernel and/or baseband, then without rebooting, you pull out the batttery to flash a pre-rooted ROM with Xrecovery.
So go back to 2.1 with an appropriately older kernel (.49??? I think) and baseband.
Edit1
Did you try other, newer pre-rooted 2.3 roms like EWJet? I'm using the full hulk version with unlocked bootloader and it's been awesome smooth running at 1.13Ghz. Just make sure you follow the install guide step by step and flash both FTF files with flashtool in step 1.1.
If you don't like EWJet, install MIUI afterwards will be easy too.
I'll definitely give this a shot! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I'll let you know how it turns out.
[EDIT 1] One question, I don't have XRecovery, and I can't install XRecovery that I know of without rooting the phone, which I can't do. How can I install a new ROM if I can't install it with XRecovery.

go here and find a 2.1 generic to start off of, I think the files come with a flashtool or you may need to use the new flashtool since you are on 2.3
EDIT1
I looked throught the list on the page linked above, the 2.1 generics are in the second section "all branded kits for X10i). Maybe use file number 8 since I recall Orange UK X10 kits had strange behavior with foreign sims....
Man! I can't thank you enough! I'm back in business now, got the phone rooted, XRecovery installed, and I'm free and clear to getting back to where I want! Looks like my stock 2.1 that I tried to root before wouldn't root through SuperOneClick.
Man, so much easier this time, I appreciate the help and suggestions! Thanks again!
no no no
don't thank me again
push the thanks button again LOL
I've read many posts and sites, but I simply can't find an updated method to debrand or simply update my branded x10 mini.
PC Companion says my phone is already updated, but it's still on 2.0.A.0.504.
How to update my x10 mini? Do I have to debrand it firstly or can I simply flash a generic and updated firmware?
Edit.: I've read some more posts and I think I've found the solution.
1. Root.
2. Install ClockworkMod (from this link).
3. Reboot and open CWM recovery.
4. Backup.
5. Install zip (this ROM) from sdcard.
6. Update with PC Companion to properly update baseband and install the SE stock ROM.
Is that the right procedure? Any advice?
I think you can just edit the build.prop file with RootExplorer to allow the phone to be updated with SEUS. Search the forums for the correct codes to put in the file. I think the UK-Generic variant is the most desirable, at leats it is for my x10 mini pro
Hello. Than you for your post.
I've decided to flash a generic firmware using Davinciteam service. I've used their service before, I know it's something of good quality.
I've read about that build.prop file and changing some value inside it, but I'm afraid of bricking my phone (I've read that a wrong code can brick the phone).
I'm going to try Davinciteam service. If it doesn't work, I'll look more into build.prop.
Hello,
I flashed the most recent MiniCM9-3.0.2 ROM with nAa ICS kernel and followed all steps carefully. Everything works except i get no service. I can find the service network (vodafone) but i cannot connect to it. I've tried to go back to stock kernel and miniCMPro 21 and i get no service as well. Any help?
Thanks
nvm... I figured it was a bootloader-issue, but i guess since you can still find the network your gsm is still working.
In any case, you're on stock rom, try relocking your bootloader and see if you can connect to the network then (Restore-button in S1-Tool)
Hi,
I'll try to restore and see if it works.
Thanks for the help.
Hi,
I restored and reinstalled CM9 and now everything is working! Thanks
i am in exactly the same boat, just flashed same rom and same kernal and now no service, i also was under the impression if i unlocked the bootloader it unlocked phone to all networks but my virgin sim would not work either, the phone was originally on orange and my orange sim worked before i done this, what do i need to do guys just flash back stock rom, if so where can i find this, thanks!
You need to use PC Companion or SEUS from Sony Ericsson to repair your phone, and then relock your bootloader with the Restore-button in S1Tool.
There is a big difference between sim-unlocking your phone, and boot-unlocking your phone.
The first one will allow you to go on other networks, the second one will allow you to flash a custom kernel.
If you want to unlock your bootloader, follow the tutorial and make sure your simlock-certificate is compatible, otherwise, obtain an EMMA/IMEI code from your provider to get your phone on other networks. In that case you can unlock your bootloader too.
There are plenty of warnings in the bootloader-unlock tutorial to prevent you from bricking your phone, if you don't understand the options that are there, don't mess with your phone.
iv tried using the repair function of pc companion but it just says no updates available for this phone, and i cant seem to find SEUS can anyone point me in the right direction please.
think i made a mistake last night though while messing, i locked the bootloader back up, had the capital R where needed, but i had a custom rom but i had flashed back the stock kernel by mistake, now the phone sits with sony ericsson on screen and doesnt do anything else, been that way for hours now, any help really appreciated!
Hi
I had the same problem. The easy way is to put the phone back to stck and start all over again. You can find SEUS here (search on google)
update_service_setup-2.11.4.11.exe
After install it just follow the instructions. When it says no update was found just click next anyway. it will restore the phone. And then start from that point:
unlock bootloader, flash kernel and install new Rom imediatly after flash kernel. DONT LET YOU PHONE START WIHT OTHER ROM OTHERWISE IT WILL GET THE SMA PROBLEM! Put the ROM file in the SD card and after install new kernel go imediatley to CWM and install the ROM.
It should work!
cheers mate iv just downloaded it and run it, this is all that happens once i restart in flashmode, any ideas
Go to the Development section for your phone in this forum and try to find a ROM that is based on the stock rom (I think you should still be able to nstall xRecovery on your phone and enter it), then flash it just like you would other custom roms.
how can i go about installing xrecovery mate as i cant access phone the way it is, i can get it into flashmode, using the power and home button then using back quickly after i restart, iv tried flashing a custom kernel back onto it too from flashtool but it gives an error and doesnt do anything, if only i could get that kernel back on at least just to get it out of the freezing!
Open flashtool and connect your turned-on phone through usb, if it says phone connected with usb-debugging, you can use flashtool to install xrecovery and reboot into that.
