I just moved to cyanogenmod, and was wondering if there is any video player available that has live previews like the one in the original rom, where all videos play at the same time in thumbnail mode.
Just loaded my first Matroska (.MKV) format video on the SD card.
To my surprise, the stock video player displayed prominent subtitles!
Now, that's all very clever, but how can I turn them OFF ?!

I'm encountering the same issue.
kind of weird because the same files dont populate subtitles on PC using VLC or Media Player Classic. But both standard Samsung Video Player and VLC beta for Android...subtitles pop up.
I want to replace the default video player that comes with AICP with MX Player to play everything but not just that, I know I can just select "Always" when it asks me what I what to play a file with.
I'm asking this because I was trying to make a GIF from a video but all apps play the video(s) very laggy. This does not happen with MIUI since the default MIUI video player was able to play those videos.
So, does anyone knows how to replace the stock video player with MX Player? So all apps use MX Player and not the stock one to play the videos by default.
I've already tried freezing/disabling the gallery app but no effect.

I have some videos with mp4 format and they cant played with stock video player. But it works with other player.

I also alreasy try that video on another phone (oppo, xiaomi) and it works perfect.
Is stock video player has specific mp4 format?
