hi all, i have posted this message in the marketplace a couple of days ago, but i got no replies, and i doubt that i will get any attention as we have such a small community support. i hope the mods dont mind...
As the title says, anyone got a mugen battery (or cheap replacement batteries) for my TG01 of the above, im very interested. please state how long it had been used for and the price. also if it is the 2600/3900mAh, please ship with the battery door and full accessories. Thanks in advance.
Bought a Mugen 3900 and I LOVE IT!
Yeah, the Mugen means unlimited or infinity in Japanese, and damn it is ever! I love the 3900, it never runs out of juice. I use it to watch movies, play games, I can actually sit down and play the Playstation emulator and Morphgear for a few hours without worry! Anyways, go on the internet my friend, you can buy these batteries anywhere, from eBay, or directly from the manufacturers site, they ship it too you quickly and I got five percent off by looking for a coupon. Here are some links for ya!
Directly from their website, and here is a 5% coupon that I used, I even just checked it, it still definitely works "5OFF2010". They were super quick and it was a perfect transaction.

Buy new, new is always better, new comes with warranty, warranty is good, also, their shipping is dirt cheap.

thanks for your reply kilihari!!! cheers on the info, and thanks for the coupons im very tempted to buy from mugen! but i live in uk, will it be fast shipping here? where abouts are you based? also it adds alot of thickness to the tg01 haha. so you think i should go for the 3900mah, instead of the 1300mah? cheers
Thickness!! YEAH!
Hello!,
Yeah ehhhee, my phone is hella thick, children mistake my phone now for a Samsung Galaxy Tab, and I have noticed that I lean to one side now depending on which pocket my phone is in(SOOO HEAVY, EHHEHEEHEH). The phone itself is 1" or 2.5cm thick, and weighs about 10oz or 0.625lbs. I have three batteries for my phone, two official Toshiba batteries and one Mugen. If you expect to play any of the emulators or games, then you need the 3900, especially if you are going to be watching any feature length movies and then expect to have any sort of semblance of battery life left. The 3900 battery is my trip battery; it is my "I know this is never going to run out of battery life battery." To give you a clearer picture, I use my TG01 here in Japan for Navigation especially. I purchased UUD's English Garmin Japan map for Garmin Mobile XT. I turned on the device and the display remained on from Morioka City to Kashiwa City which is 500km, took us about 8 hours to drive the distance. When we were done, my batter was still at 30-40 percent. I love the battery but it is not permanent in my phone or "keitai" as we say here in Japan. I carry the smaller extra Toshiba battery in my briefcase just in case I run out of juice in the middle of the day, and I keep the big one at home for the weekends or when I just feel like playing Super Mario All-Stars on Morphgear. (and just for all the people who think I am advocating piracy, I have the actual game and I downloaded the ROM myself into my computer from my origional game cartrige... so there.. )
About shipping, I can only say that it came to me in a week. I am certain that shipping time for you would be relatively the same. Also, having the stylus in the back of the device is soooooooo frieken' handy on trips where you don't have a stylus handy and you have to do something intricate. Anyways, it is a must buy, my machine wouldn't be half the machine it is today without it.

To be honest, the only reason I think TG01 is way better than HD2 is because it's so light weight!
I am definitely tempted to buy on of these huge batteries as my use of TG01 is massively heavy!! However... I own 4 TG01 1000mAH batteries, and I just keep all of them charged and in a single day don't use more than 2 batteries, sometimes may be 3. The only reason being - it keeps my phone so light all the time that I can brag about how cool it is with 1Ghz processor and yet so light
I wish they made these hefty batteries in thinner forms!
Totally agree with you man!!!
Hello drupad2drupad,
Totally agree with you man!, the TG01 is the best, and the reason why I like it better than the HD2 even is because this has a resistive screen, I like to practice my Japanese Kanji Characters on my TG01 with my stylus, also, using a joystick is a breeze, and to top it off, things like the mugen are available for crazy people like me who need power while on vacation. The mugen is good for when you use emulators. That is why I have it, really it is just for those days when I am playing video games with my USB joystick or watching full lengh two hour movies.
TG01 FOREVAAAAA

Yes, guys thanks very much for your help! I agree with you,I think that I may need to get the 3900mah battery... even if it adds a bit of thickness to the phone! i am a heavy user if the phone, i use it alot for internet browsing and sms. i also run htc sense or spb shell in the background which arent to friendly on the battery! my battery barely last a day! i think i am going to take your advice and buy maybe a 2600 or a 3900mah... also May i ask where did you get another stock toshiba battery from? cheers Kili for your helpso far
@olyloh6696 - I've previously bought batteries direct from Mugen in the US. This includes a couple of the 1300mAH which I currently use all the time - they fit under the standard battery rear cover. Mugen have been reliabel and quite quick in arriving and no issues with import. They are currently offering "Free international Shipping (10-15 working days, sent with 1st class AirMail, trackable online)".

cheers kevin for that info! i guess i better order some sooner or later, before the free shipping ends! can you please report how the battery life is on the 1300mah? is it better than the stock hd2 battery, when both are running htc sense? i heard that mugen batteries have some materials that makes them last longer even if they are the same mah. anyway, will the battery life be a significant improvement to my current 1000mah or just another simple replacement? cheers!
@olyloh6696
I've been very happy with the 1300mAH battreies - definitely a worthwhile improvement over the stock Toshiba ones. I haven't done exhaustive measurements, but can certainly get a day's use out of the phone for normal purposes, including probably 2.5 - 3 hours music listening while travelling (screen off). I am of the opinion that running with Spb Mobile Shell compared to the Titanium / 'old school' Win Mobile Today screen is definitely more taxing on the battery. Using a BT headset will also drain quicker than using a wired connection, but it's all a trade between functionality and endurance.
Where to get official Toshiba batteries.
Well if anyone needs an official Toshiba battery directly from Softbank in Japan, they can contact me but I do just reccomend the one that Kevin P. White reccomends. The extra one that I have is meant for the X02T (that the TG01, or T01a in Japan). It says Toshiba on it and Softbank on it and it has all Kanji characters written all over it. But why get this when the Mugen battery is cheaper and last for longer? I really wish my second small battery was the mugen.
Also... KEVIN P. WHITE hows it going man!?!? I love yer roms, I should send ya a postcard or something, your ROM was the only thing that kept me sane in the last year.

I got 4 stock toshiba batteries off a friend who works for Toshiba in India (sent for free)
1300 sounds good to me if it lasts longer than 1000. But I think the only life-saver when using HTC Sense, Texts and lots of Calls will be 3900 (the one Kili is using)

Thanks for the response guys! I might get maybe 2 1300mah baateries as the are much smaller than the 3900mah! Im not sure, but i would rather have a thin device. I will have 3 batteries then and i guess i woll have to carry them around in my pocket. I dont play any games on my tg, i have my ipod touch and galaxy tab for that(!) but i have a data contract on o2 payg, so i use my tg01 for that. How many days of moderate use may i get put of using 3g data?
Cheers for all your help so far guys

Mugen batteries? Read this
Hi guys, I hate being a "spoilsport", but I've just throw away the two Mugen 1300mAh batteries that I bought one year ago.... they only last two or three hours after full charge in their last days. Instead, the original Toshiba 1000 mAh still maintains its performance one and half year after....
Since last Christmas, I've been using cyclically the three batteries, so all them have suffered the same "stress". My conclusion is that you have that you pay, and Mugen batteries are.... "as is"
With this philosophy and as I don't know where can I buy original batteries from Toshiba (incredible), I've decided assume that batteries are just another consumable as the protect screen: So, the best is buying them having in mind that they only last some months!
So, I've just bought a couple of Cameron Sino batteries for TG01 (1000mAH) which are a real bargain on Amazon UK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Battery-1100mAh-For-Toshiba-TG01/dp/B00366HOC2) : Just 9,99 British pounds each, (11.75€ or 15,76$ today) and I'm very happy with them!. Who know when they will start to fail! But for this price I'll replace them easily.
Ok You can say: Well, forums are full of bad advices regarding this trade. But it's not the first time that I use products from this company, and I've never had problems with them.
NOTE:
My bad ( or not so bad..) experience has been with the Mugen 1300mAH , I also think as Kilihari says that having a giant 3900mAH battery as a second plan can be great if you need guaranteed power for a while! If you don't mind having a scale model of the Noah's Arch in your pocket
By the way , any of our great cockers has been able to elude the stupid Toshibas 20% limit (you can't use USB, WIFI, and camera if battery is lower than 20%). That is another argument in favour of the big one!
Cheers

Thanks for the info Pere... So you've had your 2 mugen batteries for less than a year and they began to die out? i was wanted go know how the performance was on it. if it last only less than a year, and is quite expensive for what is just a near standard battery, i think it is safer to just to buy the cameron Sino batteries. they are very cheap and are 1100Mah, (probably roughly the same performance as the stock toshiba ones.) with that i can buy multiple batteres and keep the in my pocket throughout the day! may i ask, when you had multiple batteries, how did you charge them? did you have to charge each of them individualy with the phone, one by one, or do you have a charging cradle or such accessory?

Regarding above question, I am using dirt cheap option and it's very convenient!! It's usb charger, very small - size of little marshmallow may be? :s
I generally put spare battery on this usb charger on my laptop or work computer as I tend to use computer 16-18 hours a day anyway! So it keeps charging for 4-5 hours and I swap for another one - and so on. I never have to charge battery in my phone as I always have stock of charged batteries spare!
I din't buy from this particular retailer, but they are cheaper (£5.75 with delivery) than what I paid (£6.99)

Wow, that looks nice, but it takes a long time to charge i think i will just buy one Cameron Sino battery and see how it goes. i can always keep one backup battery. How tge performance compared to the stock batteries, are they the same, or does the cameron sino have a long battery life? (1100mah as opposed to 1000mah)

How could you possibly expect a battery with OVER THREE times the capacity of the original to not be at least three times the size of the original?!?!
Maybe if the battery had 10 - 20% extra, it might manage to squeeze in the original cover - but not 200% extra! These guys aren't magicians!
I bought a 2500mah one from ebay which also has a huge hump (which I expected!). Its not pretty to look at - but my only purpose for it is to watch films on the plane when travelling, so I'm not that fussed. I'll just switch it back when I get off the plane!
On another note - I usually charge my original battery every night, but this week I thought I'd try running it flat and see how long it lasts. Almost 4 days with a few calls / texts and about 15mins of GPRS internet a day... and one day with about 30mins of music through its speaker!
Not to shabby really!
I found a Photo with a 3000 mAh Battery:

Thats EXACTLY what I bought my 2500mah battery for!!! Movies on the plane to Canada, then GPS tracking of my snowboarding using snowranger software. As its hidden in my pocket, I don't really care what it looks like! I just hope that the 2500mah is enough to last about 8 hours of GPS and MP3.
p3eps said:

Yep, I acknowledge it's my fault since I bought it without adequate amount of researches of the item. I know that 3000/4500 mah should lasts many times longer than the original one, but it really doesn't looks decent, that why I finally decided to return it....

I'm surprised to read that. My diamond would go through a battery in roughly 7-8 hours... .thus the reason why I kept two spares on a separate charger.
I received my HD a week ago and at the end of a 10-12 hour day, I've used 25% percent, sometimes 50%.
Just for reference, I use the phone for my business and personal use. I run roughly 5000 minutes a month so I'm on it a decent amount.
I'm THRILLED with battery life on the HD compared to the Diamond.
Mark
There's a 1500mah battery kicking about on ebay, only a shade under 10% more than than the original, but should be able to squeeze a decent amount of time extra for basic day to day usage
One thing we must all consider is our background running apps.
I've heard that S2U2 drains the battery fast... I have it installed on mine but can't really make a comparison against what it was like if I hadn't installed it.
Check your \Windows\StartUp folder. If there's something there you've installed, question if you really need it on all of the time.
Also, use button mapping tools to kick off background apps that you occasionally use.
e.g. I use MobileMagic for screen rotation on all apps and button mapping. This runs in the background at all times. I've also install TaskFacade to manage my runnig apps. By default this runs in the background and is likely to drain the battery. So, I simply removed it from the StartUp folder and used the Back button mapping in Mobile Magic to start it up when I need it. On first use it takes a few seconds to run, but thereafter it's pretty quick.
At least this way, you have more control over startup and only engage apps when their really needed.
Just my $0.02 worth...

roundup at time of posting:
1500mAh pricey but quality seller
1700mAh cheap and does the biz
1950mAh mixed results - one guy got worse performance than the 1350mAh stock under heavy load, another guy took it easy and it lasted for ages.
Jury still out on the 1950 but the 1700 seems like a good buy, tho you might have to do some rooting around to buy it if you're a yank.
Another Battery Option
Another option for more power is something like th eGear reserve battery pack. It is small, rechargeable and can be used with any future phones you might get. It has multiple adapters (mini usb, ipod, ...). I have been using mine for a couple of months and have been very happy. I could not find the one I have online but here is something similar:

I purchased 1 of these Andida (1600mah) for my G1 and battery life increase is very noticeable. Just ordered 1 for my Tmo TP2.
Looking forward to your review. I will also buy one in case its worth once I have my rhodium. Cheers..
an extra 500mah's does seem nice for a few quid, ill hold out for your review also.
post for review curious myself as I got about a day out of this thing although I did talk for 3 hours on it
I would be real leary and real careful about buying a battery that inexpensive, even if it is 2000mah. If its protection circuit is not good or even worse, non existent, that TP2 is nothing but a grenade in your pocket. I know I'm not risking a no name Chinese battery in any device I know. You just never know what you are getting for your money.

2000mAh Andida
Received the 2000mAh. Put it to the test with Coreplayer in a loop playing Coraline fullscreen sound off. The Andida lasted 130 minutes first charge, 155 minutes second and third charge.
The stock 1500mAh HTC lasts 220 minutes. Quite a difference. But for € 7,50 including shipping you won't hear me complain. It's still a whole lot cheaper per minute than the other leading brands.
BTW, I haven't tested it yet but it seems the 2000mAh Andida provides longer stand-by times. Will test that starting today. If so, someone have a theory as to how Li-Ion batteries perform different under different circumstances? If there is a theoretical possibility that is
Packaging was quite professional I must say. Apart from that, the battery doesn't heat up, not during charging and not while it was put to the test.

A higher stand-by time but lower overall energy density is unlikely given they are both lithium ion. It's possible there are more impurities or something of the sort in the Andida battery, giving a higher internal resistance (meaning it has a high voltage drop-off when under full load). That would indicate a very poor manufacturing process and be a surprise.
This thing about these batteries having 2000mAh is total BS. I've tested for my own amusement a few of these cheap batteries under a few different testing regimes (using This). They can squeeze a few mAh by stripping down the packaging and safety stuff, but not much. All battery manufacturers are limited by simple chemistry. In this case, Lithium Polymer. If you want a high Ah battery, it will be bigger.

I have not done an official minute test but I feel exactly the same about this battery. Price, packaging is good but not even close to 2000mah of use time under data usage. Standby time is pretty good but who cares since we use the phone for data or else you wouldn't have a touchscreen $500 device. I am not saying it was a waste of money since it is a second battery...but definitely not an extended battery.

I just purchased this battery btw. From my experience I purchased a 3rd party battery from china for my g1. I had no problems with the battery I could see a difference. It lasted at least 6 months until I got rid of the g1 for the tp2.
I bought the g1 extended battery on ebay for $13. It was the exact same battery that fommy.com was selling for $40. Im sure china is where most resellers get there items from but they probably slap sticker over the original and call it theirs.
I see this as cutting out the middle man and saving myself the cost.
i would definatelly never trust a battery that cheap, especially in something that:
a) is kept in a pocket (see pic :)
b) is ususlly left to charge over night.
something that happened to someone using a chineese no-brand extended battery in an HTC Touch Pro:

Has anyone else had any issues with the temp of this battery being warmer that the norm... (oh and ps... who really puts there phone in their back pocket... thats crazy...)

I purchased and they charged my credit card 11/27, here it is 12/28 and still no batteries. There is no tracking number for these when they were sent as they didn't let me know that the way I'd paid I couldn't get a tracking number.
What I don't understand is I get a lot of things from DealExtreme and they ship from China and it's always trackable for bulkrate shipping. So, what gives with this company?
Old battery is running out of juice. Recently found some 1700mah drea160 g1 battery on ebay. Any one tested them yet?
What happen to the ecell 1500mah battery? couldn't find it anymore.
By the way, I'm looking for a standard battery (fits in original housing), please reply if you have something to share. Thanks
Don't know if its the same battery i bought about half a year ago at ebay germany but i had no luck with it.
It was labeled as 1700 mah battery... now, 7 month later the battery has power for about 6 hours in standby (think about 500mah rest capacity)
Even in the first months the battery had not more power than the original htc 1150mah battery, the standby time was about the same.
I recommend not to buy it... better get one or two cheaper standard capacity batteries
Sent from my T-Mobile G1 using XDA App
well I just ordered mine off ebay, total came to a lil over 5 bucks.
Im guessing its not gonna pan out, but hopin it'll be at least as good as stock, and if its either of those, im getting my money back and keeping the battery. So tis a win for me no matter what.
I'll do review.

This battery works great for me, have had it a few weeks now, has easily doubled my battery life and standby time is crazy it never has come close to dying while on standby.
The one I received is a little different than the one pictured, my backplate has just the camera recessed and not the whole area around it. So the back is even throughout.

Guys,
I found a 1700mah battery on ebay (restriction on new users stops me from providing the link, but it's from Seller austintexwireless ( 18439 sales))
Do you think it's fake at 1.60$?...
I am looking to buy a bigger battery, but I do not want the extended packs with thick back covers, so would prefer one that fits the original slot.
Any advice?

Here you go http://cell-phones.shop.ebay.com/i....kw=&_osacat=20336&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
I ordered three batteries off ebay. Two of them were delivered and I'm waiting for the last one. One of the batteries is 1050 Mah and the other is 1150. They both hold equally with a little edge for the 1150 one. I'm really sceptic that in this thickness the battery could have a larger capacity than the stock one. This is a limitation of the Li-Ion technology. However, both of those batteries are much better than the swollen stock one after 1,5 years of use and do a great job. One more thing. The 1050 one was from HongKong and cost me about $3 and the bigger one was from UK and cost me about 7-8$, but was delivered much much faster. I think that you can't go wrong with a battery for 3-4$ but I recommend getting two batteries and an external charger - it's a must have for power users. That's it.
My ANDIDA 1600mAh battery begins to show its age (used to last at least 1-day of use, sometimes 2-day if use is light, now barely make it over a whole day) after 11-month of use. So I got a new 1700mAh (by SCUD) battery.
I shall report back how it performs after a few days of use...
ANDIDA 1600mAh
SCUD 1700mAh
P.S. They both weigh 24g.
A quick search finds that lithium ion's specific energy density ranges from 150 to 250 W·h/kg. If we take the highest specific energy density, so 24 / 1000 * 250 = 6W·h (WHr). Divide 6W·h by 3.7V * 1000 = 1621mAh.
So it's THEORETICALLY possible that these batteries can contain 1600-1700mAh of juice. Whether they can actually store as much is, well, another matter.
Of course, the above calculations haven't taken into consideration of the weight of the housing and the circuitry so the figures should be a bit off.
P.P.S. I remember the original battery (1150mAh) weighed a few grams more through.

that pictures even says 2500 mah, I wouldn't trust it.
so, after a few days of use, it isn't as good as the andida when it was new. the andida surely lasted me at least 1-day of uses (unless i'm using gps the whole time, which drains the battery in a few short hours). this one, it lasts a day of moderate use but not much left.
i'm hoping that with more uses, it will be more "warmed up" and last longer.
i'll report back if this happens.
Looks like the SCUD can last 1.5 day of use mostly.
Hi all,
at the moment, my hero sprint (I think this is the proper name) is running on the factory 1350mAh battery. I am pretty content, but I am reading about 1800mAh batteries that should live a lot longer! But on the batteryboss.org I see most are just rip-offs.
Whats the battery of your choice? What are your results and: where did you order it?
I am more than open for all advice about this subject, as long as the battery fits in the stock opening. I do not want my hero to become any bigger than is is
htcheroblog.com/2010/02/14/mugen-power-1550mah-3200mah-htc-hero-battery-review/
Read the five pages and it should give you an idea as to which battery (if any) you want.
Unless your away from your charger for more than one night then the standard htc battery should be sufficient, although I personally have the huuuuge 3200mAh battery which is amazing and lasted over 40 hours for me even with wireless and gps pretty much constantly on. Hope that helped

I also have a 3200 mAh battery and its lasted 14 days on minimal use! That's how good the Hero can be! I use the stock Battery for day to day use though as I get 2 days out of it usually.
I use 2200mAh purchased from Clove uk (part number is HTC-BATEHEROW-B15).
My battery goes down to 60-70% after a day use, WiFi on all time and quite a lot of calls.
It used to go down to 20-30% with the orginal battery.
The real good thing is that the phone has now taken an extra 5mm of thickness and this extra bit makes it much much easier to hold on my hands.
The cover color is real white and does not match the white Hero color, no big deal.

I dont expect many will have a much higher capacity worth buying if you dont want to add depth to the phone soory
If anyone is interested the Clove batteries (2200mAh) are only £7ish delivered to the UK now!
It may be a pricing error? no idea, either way Ive ordered!
Only available in white though... but almost twice the power for less than a 10er! Im in!
(I will probably cover the back cover in stickers anyway... its what all the Apple people do so its easily acceptable for a Android user to do it lol)

There's 3200 mAh, 2200 mAh, 1550 mAh, and the stock 1350 mAh batteries.
I have the 2200 mAh version.
Its only $13.75 USD and is smaller than the 3200 mAh version.
It comes with the back case and lasts almost twice as long as the stock battery.
I wouldn't spend +$79 on just a battery. I'd rather buy 2 2200 mAh batteries. Cheaper and easier to carry.

Looks good, thanks for the heads up.
it's a big battery...make the phone bigger but it worth if the life of that battery it is abot 2-3 day because i charged my phone every day with te stock one
Did you see the picture on Ebay? It claims that it is the same size as the OEM battery so you DO NOT need to change the back cover. You use the OEM cover
Hi,
up to now tests showed that no alternate batteries were an improvement if they fit in the standard case. Google for the name of the battery perhaps you find something.
Are you on stock firmware? If yes a modified firmware might be a good idea. With froyo I reached more then 70 hours with low usage. The new GB roms will reach this also in a few weeks I think.
Ralf
Thanks for the reply, I did install the latest 2.3.3 Wolfbreaks ROM...
1. Maybe thats why the battery life is short...
2. I did just get this phone...heavy use...may cause the short battery life.
3. My excitement for the phone is another reason battery life is short
Interesting find.
I never used the particular one you found on Ebay, but I have another regular-sized one from China claiming it has 2200mAh capacity.
I hate to burst your bubble, but I have in the past bought and tried many, many replacement batteries for SE, Moto, HTC and other handsets and not single one of them clearly exceeded the capacity of OEM ones. Sure those sellers say theirs have 2200mAh or 2300mAh compared to OEM's 1500mAh they seem a lot better, but in realty they are about the same as the OEM at best. The one I have (they advertised as 2200mAh) for my X10 seems a little bit better than OEM. The 2300mAh one on Ebay, at least, doesn't try to copy the look of OEM, and (from my experience) it usually is a good sign of they are better than self-claimed really cheap OEMs you can find everywhere in Ebay. In the end, long battery life is not a forte of android. It's not like we have symbian devices.
As far as I know, "Mugen" replacement battery seems truly better than OEMs, though I haven't tried them personally. They are not cheap, you know.

Let me know if the one you found turns out to be good, I'm always looking for a spare battery that exceeds OEMs!
Awesome incite and input!!! Thanks Hasei!!!
I think I am going to buy it...!!!
I need more battery experience!!

Symbian battery is PATHETIC. I still have My N97Mini and my N8, alongside my HTC Sensation and SE X10, all heavily tweaked [you can't even tweak symbian that much] and I'll tell you now, its pathetic. Laggy like ****, but the battery wont even last 30 hours in minor usage, and not even 4 hours in hardout. My x10 can last like 4 days in the minimal usage and 10 hours in hardout, but I still carry one extra battery around =]

Just ordered this battery for $34 USD, will post a review when tested in a couple weeks.
I think it will be a good move from my side to search for such a battery. Ebay, i'm coming!
Seriously, the phone saps away power like mad when using Wi-Fi...
guyz i would recommend not to use chinese or fake batteries. They can even blast.
I never used to play with my battery.
BEWARE!!
The stock battery is chinese, and not all that is chinese is horse dung.
(yeah, i thought that i got some fake battery myself, until i searched for the battery photos in the internet )

but that's original!!
i've been using the 3200 mAh battery from ebay as my x10 battery for the past 2 months or so. It's really good if you don't mind the bulk, i can play psx games on my phone for about 8 hours and be left with 60% of my battery. if i don't use my phone much (just texting occasionally) it lasts about 2-4 days. So far no signs of overheating/blowing up .
(edit: used to be running on demand governor, recently switched to smartass. Battery seems to be doing even better)

is it this battery:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260836802...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_2817wt_905,or this 1:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-BATTE...ultDomain_3&hash=item336850790f#ht_1315wt_905
it's a 3200 battery, i'll try pming you the link, it won't let me post it.
If it sounds too incredible, it probably is...
Give it a thought: If the manufacturer of the original batteries would be able to squeeze a few extra hundreds milliamps into the battery without risking the battery security, don't you think they would have from the beginning?
There is always one or more downsides with these "better" batteries:
1: They're fake. in fact, it's only a 1700 mAh battery with a 2200 mAh sticker on it. Placebo warning here! Those reviews from other "customers"? Problably the manufacturer themselves, or payed "customers".
2: They're bigger, so they do need a different cover. These battery claims can be true, more capacity = larger battery. Something has to give in. (In this case: Size), right?
These bigger batteries are okay, as bigger battery means more capacity. You have to give up the slim size here.
3: They removed some or all security features in order to allow "overcharging". That way they can squeeze in a few more mAh in the battery.
The risk of overheating is very real here. There have been cases where such "no security" batteries have exploded, and in some cases even catching fire... while still in the owners pocket. Ouch! That gotta hurt alot.
Here is a video on overcharging a Lithium Ion battery, but it isn't far from what can happen to a Lithium Polymer battery without the security:
