As the title says, I want someone who knows either the SI code witch should be something 1234-XXXX and can be found inside the phone under the battery for a generic Portuguese Portugal (not Brazil) for X10 mini pro.
If someone bought a phone from FNAC.pt or unbranded in Portugal, please post here either the number or if you have root and root explorer you could post directly the build.prop from your phone.
Can be found under systems with root explorer.
Thanks for all your help, been trying to get the info for several days and I was not able to get it anywhere.
vodafone portugal:
sony ericsson u20i
SI 1239-2170 CB5
bought at worten, vila real
I bought from vodafone lisbon ans I confirm the number given by j12j34j
Did it come unbranded or does it come with all the Vodafone programs?
vodafone programs
Thanks for the information, but I am looking for an unbranded generic PTG phone number or preferably build.prop from that ROM.
That way I can change my Spanish Vodafone U20i, which I now have with a generic UK 2.1 ROM to a Generic PTG 2.1 ROM.
The reason why I am trying to do it, is because of the "Ç" letter. I have it physically on the qwerty keyboard but, when I press it, it writes a "," instead.
That is why I ask anyone who has an unbranded X10 mini pro that was bought in Portugal and comes with a PTG ROM, please post your build.prop or at least your SI numbers so we can enjoy it too.
Thank you all.

Hi Johev,
you can have the "ç" working in the physical keyboard with the UK ROM like I do.
If you have rooted your phone use the root explorer tool (or any other file manager that has root access to text files) and go to /system/usr/keyboard.config , mount it as read-write and open/edit the file "keyprint.xml" .
You'll find a line
<script name="latin" keylayout="qwerty-en" />
Change it to:
<script name="latin" keylayout="qwerty-br" />
exit the text editor and mount again the folder as Read Only, reboot the phone and you'll have it working except if you untick the "Definições de introdução predefinida" in the "Idioma e Teclado" Settings Menu.
Unticking that setting is also the only way to get rid of the ugly and useless language bar that appears when we're writing something in the physical keyboard.
And since we can't unitck or else we'll loose the "ç" I'm also interested in getting the rom custom number for the Portuguese unbranded phone (and never found it anywhere).
Thanks a lot FrankBullit. I will do that, as for now it solves my keyboard problem. I did even think of using the generic Spanish ROM, as it would use the "ç", and maybe it would even take care of the language bar problem that you have mentioned.
But so far I will stick to your advice and change the en to br.
Thank you once again, and if anyone gets his hand on a build.prop or the SI numbers of an generic Portuguese 2.1 android for U20i (aka x10 pro) please post it here.
Hi,
If I'm not mistaken it is 1238-8532, at least that's the one I've got.

Thanks serpta1, searching for that 1238-8532 in google I've found a lot of people saying that's the Customized IBE, which would make a sense. I don't see SE making a generic rom just for the Portuguese Market, and since Spain uses the same layout that might be the right CDF.
I'll probably try it this weekend.

I think you guys prefer to have the native settings. But if you don't get everything sorted, and want to use the physical keyboard without the language bar, you can install AnySoftKeyboard.
SE made an Iberic version of the ROM, and the numbers were already posted in this thread. Thanks serpta1!!!

This helps anyway?

Just edit your own build.prop. It is a text file and you have to make only 3 replacements, using 1238-8536 as the new value.
keep in mind guys that the keyboard layout in nordic is not qwerty-en. got my device rooted now adn should be fixed in a few seconds...but still a little bit of extra dicking around
Thanks guys. Finally updated to 2.1. WOW
and where is that 3 places to change this 1238-8536 .. i am from denmark and i cant update normally
U20I updated Norwegian phone
Hi. I used a UK one from another thread. Changed the 1238 numbers.
The file attached worked for me. But use at your own risk!
have a branded telenor mini pro, found the build.prop under system and changed 3 numbers.
ro.product.name=U20i_1238-8536
ro.build.fingerprint=SEMC/U20i_1238-8536/SonyEricssonU20i/delta:1.6/1.1.A.0.8/1:user/release-keys
ro.semc.version.cust=1238-8536
Do i just copy it over the old one?

can you tell me how to change the layout?
i do these changes on my CLARO CHILE branded mini PRO and cant get the update : /
I hava a australian 3 U20a. Is it different from U20i?
Upgrade took about 30 minutes (messed up a couple of times) but now it's FW. 2.1.
Didn't see any HUGE changes, but it's more responsive, and more more stable.
Updated to 2.1 in India (Mumbai) on Vodafone on my Mini Pro. I had de-branded earlier using the -0199 CDF to th UK firmware. Thanks to the other threads, I got the build.prop changed (using Root Explorer) to the Nordic one and it upgraded seamlessly to 2.1 At the end, I had a different keyboard layout, but it was easily changed (thanks to the keyboard thread and the root exploit) and now I'm a happy camper using 2.1.
First impressions- smooth and fluid. No lag at all as compared to 1.6. The icons and dark theme enhance the fonts making them easier to read. Downloaded a couple of apps- Angry Birds, XDA app, Cnet, Techcrunch, HuffPost etc.
So, as most of us went to Nordic 2.1 x10 mini pro update I would like to get back to 1.6 (preferably to original O2 Germany version but any version will do).
I have tried editing build.prop in 2.1 to values 1239-2971 (these values were from my original build.prop in 1.6) but SE Update Service says that there is no new updates. I guess that this doesn't work anymore
So, is there any old software backup of 1.6 available for downgrade?
Try deleting the db folder in /Update Service inside your program files
That doesn't work.
I could try putting 1.6 build.prop (original one that I had before editing and updating) but I am afraid not to brick my phone.
Is this safe to do?

Don´t do this. I tried it already. Doesn´t work, and will put your phone in a boot loop.

May I ask why you want to go back to 1.6? Is there something not right with the 2.1 upgrade?
I don't have it yet and am not sure if I want to upgrade if it is so hard to downgrade.

edit: I have found the list of issues with 2.1. I will follow this thread to find out how to downgrade if I'm not satisfied with 2.1.

I´ve paid to Davinci to downgrade to 1.6 because of the keyboard issues. I use Palm Graffiti in portrait mode and with my physical keyboard already being german, having Swedish layout on top of it was too much. Will wait for German update to be available. Otherwise no problems at all, only benefits - better battery handling in 2.1 etc.
Ok, thanks for letting me know.
It doesn't have any big problems, but as vlissine said there is this annoying thing with the keyboard. And as german update to 2.1 is coming out soon I would like to get back to original 1.6 version.
Also, I don't know is there any difference in Marketplace between countries. For example one application could be present on german version, but not on nordic.
At first glance there is not that much big of a difference so that you MUST switch to 2.1 immediately, except if the nordic version is suitable for your use.
Hm, no, I'm not planning to go nordic, I will wait for the update to come to Belgium.
u should try omnius instead of davinci. they charge per day of use rather than per flash and its cheaper

I did omnius when I unbranded my phone. This time I used Davinci just to compare. Omnius has one disadvantage - you have to chase their dealers to get credits credited onto your account while at Davinci it is straightforward and immediate.
Also charge per day might be interesting for those who want to flas a bunch of phones, not just one. But I agree omnius is cheaper and is as good as.

When Locale updates arrive, changing your build.prop to your generic one, and then using SEUS to repair your phone would do the trick. You will be changed to your local 2.1

I tried just to test to change Nordic into Russian by using this technique. Didn´t work.
I manage to downgrade to 1.6 for FREE. lol
Just download the FW for u20i NL 1.6 here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827273 and use the Flashtool from Binary's post.
Thanks zanndoth, this worked for me very well.
Unfortunally it doesn't works for me. Did al the steps (downloading flashtool etc.) but when I startup my phone I get the animating splash screen en after that a 'frozen' SE logo.... Still there after 15 minutes... Can someone help?
Ok, finally, after waiting longer, it finally works.
Thanks to you all!
I already try to update/repair my xperia mini pro by editing the build.prop file by changing the no with uk no but it update/repair me with the same firmware.i think I can solve this problem by replacing the orginal file from the latest firmware uk.if anyone want to help me plz attachh that file in this post plz. Your xperia can be rooted using tool mentioned in another post and if you want to unroot it just repair it.plz I am tired of pressing ? Key for.
You can change the keyboard layout so it acts as if it were an english qwerty keyboard, although you can't disbale the annoying language bar thing because then it reverts back to nordic for some reason
EDIT:
Here's the solution I used:
Rabmash said:
Root your phone, use Root Explorer and browse to the system/user/keyboard-config folder then edit the keyprint.xml file (press and hold on the file, 'Open In Text Editor')
change the <script name="latin" keylayout="qwerty-fi-se"/> to <script name="latin" keylayout="qwerty-en"/>
Press menu then save the file and reboot your phone, you should know have a uk keyboard layout as before

Hello,
I'm root the phone through generic .058 and updated to .062 that is again generic. I'm looking for the greek stock firmware or a way to change the region to greek, in order to take greek updates and/or have a way to fully restore the phone to the initial state. I can't find something, but only the generic .058 firmware. Is there is any list with the variants of the LWW Wt19i? Thanks in advance.

Use root explorer and edit /system/build.prop to match your SI
With Greek (at least) firmware you can send sms with 160 characters, with world not. I've tried to change si but the option was not there
i posted that info in this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651072&p=#2

Hi everyone,
I am currently on .73 SG Generic. Through PCC, there is .75 update available but I prefer using FTF file.
I am thinking to use CE Generic, can anyone confirm if it comes with Chinese/Japanese input? I know I can flash to see but it will save me some trouble in case it doesn't have it
Thanks
that would be usefull !!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1685672
next time use a serch button
theat to close
Maybe I didn't make myself clear.
I already saw there is FTF for CE but I am not sure if that ROM include the chinese and japanese keyboard. That is the reason holding me back from updating.
I think I will just use the PCC, just on the safe side else I might end up flash twice
Thanks anyway.
I have never flashed .75 CE1 but I have flashed .76 Taiwan once and I saw both Japanese keyboard and Chinese keyboard. So I recommend you to try .76 firmware
However, please be aware that .76 Taiwan has no enable/disable camera shutter sound menu. But you can edit build.prop (root required) to make the menu visible.
