[Q] Generic CE Rom - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi everyone,
I am currently on .73 SG Generic. Through PCC, there is .75 update available but I prefer using FTF file.
I am thinking to use CE Generic, can anyone confirm if it comes with Chinese/Japanese input? I know I can flash to see but it will save me some trouble in case it doesn't have it
Thanks

that would be usefull !!!

next time use a serch button

Maybe I didn't make myself clear.
I already saw there is FTF for CE but I am not sure if that ROM include the chinese and japanese keyboard. That is the reason holding me back from updating.
I think I will just use the PCC, just on the safe side else I might end up flash twice
Thanks anyway.

I have never flashed .75 CE1 but I have flashed .76 Taiwan once and I saw both Japanese keyboard and Chinese keyboard. So I recommend you to try .76 firmware
However, please be aware that .76 Taiwan has no enable/disable camera shutter sound menu. But you can edit build.prop (root required) to make the menu visible.

Help getting Generic 2.1 PTG build.prop U20i

As the title says, I want someone who knows either the SI code witch should be something 1234-XXXX and can be found inside the phone under the battery for a generic Portuguese Portugal (not Brazil) for X10 mini pro.
If someone bought a phone from FNAC.pt or unbranded in Portugal, please post here either the number or if you have root and root explorer you could post directly the build.prop from your phone.
Can be found under systems with root explorer.
Thanks for all your help, been trying to get the info for several days and I was not able to get it anywhere.
vodafone portugal:
sony ericsson u20i
SI 1239-2170 CB5
bought at worten, vila real
I bought from vodafone lisbon ans I confirm the number given by j12j34j
Did it come unbranded or does it come with all the Vodafone programs?
vodafone programs
Thanks for the information, but I am looking for an unbranded generic PTG phone number or preferably build.prop from that ROM.
That way I can change my Spanish Vodafone U20i, which I now have with a generic UK 2.1 ROM to a Generic PTG 2.1 ROM.
The reason why I am trying to do it, is because of the "Ç" letter. I have it physically on the qwerty keyboard but, when I press it, it writes a "," instead.
That is why I ask anyone who has an unbranded X10 mini pro that was bought in Portugal and comes with a PTG ROM, please post your build.prop or at least your SI numbers so we can enjoy it too.
Thank you all.

Hi Johev,
you can have the "ç" working in the physical keyboard with the UK ROM like I do.
If you have rooted your phone use the root explorer tool (or any other file manager that has root access to text files) and go to /system/usr/keyboard.config , mount it as read-write and open/edit the file "keyprint.xml" .
You'll find a line
<script name="latin" keylayout="qwerty-en" />
Change it to:
<script name="latin" keylayout="qwerty-br" />
exit the text editor and mount again the folder as Read Only, reboot the phone and you'll have it working except if you untick the "Definições de introdução predefinida" in the "Idioma e Teclado" Settings Menu.
Unticking that setting is also the only way to get rid of the ugly and useless language bar that appears when we're writing something in the physical keyboard.
And since we can't unitck or else we'll loose the "ç" I'm also interested in getting the rom custom number for the Portuguese unbranded phone (and never found it anywhere).
Thanks a lot FrankBullit. I will do that, as for now it solves my keyboard problem. I did even think of using the generic Spanish ROM, as it would use the "ç", and maybe it would even take care of the language bar problem that you have mentioned.
But so far I will stick to your advice and change the en to br.
Thank you once again, and if anyone gets his hand on a build.prop or the SI numbers of an generic Portuguese 2.1 android for U20i (aka x10 pro) please post it here.
Hi,
If I'm not mistaken it is 1238-8532, at least that's the one I've got.

Thanks serpta1, searching for that 1238-8532 in google I've found a lot of people saying that's the Customized IBE, which would make a sense. I don't see SE making a generic rom just for the Portuguese Market, and since Spain uses the same layout that might be the right CDF.
I'll probably try it this weekend.

I think you guys prefer to have the native settings. But if you don't get everything sorted, and want to use the physical keyboard without the language bar, you can install AnySoftKeyboard.
SE made an Iberic version of the ROM, and the numbers were already posted in this thread. Thanks serpta1!!!

This helps anyway?

So anyone know how to solve/override this issue?

[Q] How to change the firmware/baseband?

Hi there,
Please don't freak out on me for not perusing the posts. I have and unfortunately I couldn't find the post I was originally looking for (I saw it there a few months ago, book marked it, but lost it after an HDD crash - I now know the value of Xmark sync).
A few months ago I flashed my phone to a simple generic 2.1 firmware. Nothing fancy. Since doing so I've had some weird issues where some apps fail to work now, even the Weather Network's widget fails to launch. Weird, frequent random FCCs, etc.
My phone is an X10a, and was upgraded to:
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 2.1.54
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: 2.1.A.0.435
The issue i have is that after the upgrade, it changed my language from English to spanish I think, and it purged all the info regarding the Mobile Network Settings (APN's, Voicemail settings, etc).
Because of these issues, I would like to re-flash my phone with SEUS but to the ENGLISH Generic. If I can't do that I would like to flash it back to the Rogers firmware if possible.
Is there a way for me to do so easily?
I remember that there was a guide on the forum that talked about editing a few files using a program from the Market in order, with root access, in order to change the country code information that the phone is currently using, so that using SEUS will force the phone to download a different firmware. But I have come up empty on my search. Or maybe it was a really weird dream lol
Have you tried the SEUS to get back the original Rogers firmware image? I messed up my phone a few times and the SEUS was always able to restore the default Rogers image.
Use the flashtool to flash global generic .435 FW and select your location and language when you do your initial setup. Search the Dev forum for the Flashtool thread by Androxyde. Flashtool is also how you flash the BB of your choice.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Thats the link to the flashtool. The FW links are in that thread too. If you want a different BB independent of the FW there's a thread with a collection of all available BBs in the Dev forum.

robotfoodisgood: Using SEUS installs the firmware for what ever region the phone has been coded to use. When I attempt to use SEUS, the language becomes Spanish, and all the settings dealing with Voicemail, APN, and Network get purged. I used Titanium backup prior to performing this flash. When I realized that my settings were gone, I re-downloaded it from the Market and restored my settings. I'm not sure if its an incompatible setting was introduced during the restore process that has caused my phone to act the way it has.
CMoney87: I will give that a shot. Hopefully this will fix the issue. I was originally planing on upgrading to one of the Gingerbread firmwares. After hearing that Sony was going to release a 2.3.3 firmware of their own - however fairly stripped (from what I've read - no live wallpaper, no HD camera, no face tracking, mediascape, etc). If that is the case I don't see the need to wait for a few more months in order to get Gingerbread, there are already better rom's already available for us to use.

Are the Global Generic sin files the same as the Generic ftf files? If not the sin files are no longer available for download it seems. In either case I'm about to try the Global Generic ftf file for my phone. Hopefully this works Fingers and toes crossed! LOL
[EDIT]
Before flashing to the Generic I did a bit more searching and fell apon this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9200597&postcount=22
this allowed me to fully restore it back to the Rogers firmware. After performing the SEUS update my settings are as follows:
Model: X10a
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 2.1.55
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number 2.1.1.A.0.6
I still fully plan on flashing the Generic firmware (probably tomorrow after church and a visit to the in-laws), but was wondering if it would be beneficial to backup the firmware and baseband, and perhaps posting it somewhere for others to use should someone want to restore their phone to that of a Rogers firmware should issues arise?
Before flashing to the Generic Firmware, I'll root the phone and use Titanium Backup to backup the current settings so that should the Generic firmware not retrieve the APN and voicemail setting information from Rogers, that I can restore it easily enough.
Sure, you can always just put the backup on a PC too if you wont be using it for a while and dont have the room on your SD. Just dont rename it.

[Q] Nordic firmware for SK17i ??

Hey.
I´m new at this forum and maybe its not in the right place, that I post this (I could not post i develope).
I´m looking for nordic (DK) official software for my SK17i Xperia mini pro.
A couple of months ago I rooted the phone, but now I have new phone and I gave my wife the Mini pro. But there is a lot of problems with it.
Yesterday I flashed it with 4.0.A.2.368 but now the slide down keyboard does not work with the danish letters "Æ", "Ø" and "Å".
And furthermore when I rooted the phone, I was not able to update it through SEUS or PC Companion to an official firmware, because it says that the phone have modified software.
So I found a generic nordic firmware in this thread, but Megaupload is shutted down by the departement of justice.
What to do ?
You should use Wotanserver to flash your Xperia Mini Pro, just follow the instructions.
You can select which version and language you want to flash.
My phone is rooted and I can reflash it with PC companion or SEUS whith no problem.Just wondering why you cant do sR you maybe unlockt bootloader, this may be a reason.
Have you tried SEUS in repair mode? That should definitely work (as in, get you a clean firmware). Depending on your current firmware (your /system/build.prop ) that may not be helpful because you might still get a normal qwerty firmware; in that case, just root your firmware and edit /system/build.prop as described in a thread by me about forcing SEUS to flash a firmware of your choice; HERE.
Sent from my SK17i using XDA App

It says I have newest software, but I'm on .67

Hi guys.
Sorry if I'm opening to many threads here, but Im still on firmware .67.
I just connected to Update Service and it said that there was no new updates but I was able to go throu a update, dunno what it was, but it deleted everything on my phone.
So I checked now, and still on .67. PC companion also says I have newest software.
But I'm still on .67 and a bootloader that can't be unlocked! WTF do I do now? I want the latest firmware!

maybe you should start reading the dialogs that appear on your computer screen instead?
you just reflashed your phone to last available software that did a factory reset. If you dont know what you are doing then DONT pursue this further - start reading on the forums how things work step by step otherwise you will end up with expensive paperclip.
.73 is only available in some random regions with some of the main ones left out.
If you go over to the dev section you can find .73 Singapore generic which you can up date to without unlocking bootloaders or rooting.
Without a changelog we dont know what sony fixed in .73 to me doesnt seem like a lot other than wifi on draws a little less power
Oh damn it.
Many other people in my country have received the update, so it's strange that I have not.
EDIT: So I can update to .73 Singapore generic? Is that safe, singapore? Will my menus still be in Norwegian? And don't it need to be a norwegian generic version?
No offical .73 in finland either

I am on the Singapore .73 generic, and you can choose to change the phone Language to Norwegian via Settings (so that your menus are in Norwegian).

[Q] How to go back to the Source/Original Android Version? For X10MPro

Hey people.
I wanted to know: is there a way to know what was the firmware/android version that came with the phone when i bought it?
Because i already change from 2.1.1.0.A.6 to 2.1.1.C.0.0 and vice-versa and now my firmware is not the original one anymore :S, I'm from Portugal and i don't know what was the Official Firmware/Android Version that came with the phone when i bought it, i want to installed it back to my phone so i can have my phone Original again without having different firmware. And if that is possible, where can i download it?.
I'll give 'Thanks' to good answers.
Cheers :good:

It came with 1.6 when SonyEricsson brought it out, and they provided updates to 2.1, with 2.1.1.C.0.0 being the last one they provided for the x10mini pro. So if you've got that firmware, your phone is still considered original, if that update was available in your region.
If your phone was locked to a specific provider, with their provider specific software (bloatware) installed, you won't be able to get it back to how it was when you bought it.
If you want to make sure you have the last original firmware for your phone for your region, do a repair with PC-Companion or SEUS. And if you had your bootloader unlocked, use S1Tool's restore function to lock it again afterwards. More original than that is impossible.
Now there's another problem, i don't know where i can download a firmware for the Portugal region, the greek firmware works but it has the keyboard problem 'buttons ç and ," that GB roms also have, so i would need to root the phone to fix that.
So there's no way to get the original firmware back :S.
Yes i can always repair with that but...if the firmware is the wrong one 'brazilian firmware for example' then those programs can't find the firmware for the repair.
I hope i never need to repair my phone and that i can stick with the GB roms, they're so much better than original eclair.
Cheers :good:
