dumb question, how to set wallpaper optimally? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to set a 960x800 image as a wallpaper, it's actually packed in with Onyx but I switched to Axura and I pulled the wallpaper out of the Onyx TW chooser, so I'm trying to set it as a wallpaper but there's this weird cropping thing I have to do and no matter how I do it I can't get it zoomed out enough so that it looks like it did when it was in the Onyx TW wallpaper chooser... it always zooms in too close when I try to use the cropper thing.. does anyone know how to do this correctly???
It's pissing me off, this should be dead simple

No workie...?

it 'workies' but how am I supposed to stretch the box? sometimes as you're dragging the lines the image zooms in and out.. like what's the optimal position of the box? the way you've got it pictured? so you don't want it to cover the whole image?

When out zooms in pull the bottom or the top that usually corrects it
to odin and back again

[Q] How to set the default wallpaper in CM7?

Hi all, i am new to CM7.
Yesterday i changed wallpaper from the default grass one to another image i had in the gallery. Today i installed Sculpted 2.1 theme which i think comes with a nice default wallpaper, so i wanted to go back to the default wallpaper but i haven't figured out how to do it.
If i try the "choose wallpaper" options i don't find the default one.
Any help will be appreciated, thank you.
Have you tried going back to the original theme? Some wallpapers might be theme specific.
here...
found it on \system\framework\framework-res.apk\res\drawable-hdpi\default_wallpaper.jpg

Green Grass Wallpaper
The wallpaper you're looking for is called Green Grass and is one of the many images contributed to the Android project by multi-talented software engineer Romain Guy.
He has posted it to his photography blog as well as to his flickr account (in sizes up to 5616 x 3744). Both sites host many more examples of his stunning work.

[Q] Widget Picture Dimensions

Hi
I will try my best to explain this
I would like to create an image in Photoshop and place this image above a bunch of game icons in my phone.
See below.

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see, i left an area blank and this is where my picture will go. It's an image i've created that simply says "Games".
I have 2 problems with this.
1. When i try placing the picture, the dimensions come out really weird... as you know when you put a picture in your background you have to decide how you want the picture sitting with the dimension box.
confused? like this...
and yes, i have tried those sizes lol.
For those of you that are fimiliar with the AccuWeather widget when you first purchased the phone, i want the image to come out exactly like that... a perfect horizontol picture.
2. My second problem is, i can't seem to put pictures on my phone that have transperancy? the transperant area always comes out black.
Thank you, highly appreciate any help i can get.

Dock Icon in PNG shows blank

Hello,
I'm really really new in terms of customization but of course I'd like to learn and try.
I have Launcher Pro installed and I wanted to change the dock.
When I click on the App Drawer Icon and select the png file I want to replace it with, it's just totally blank
Here is the icon I want to put (the 2nd one): thecustomandroid (dot) com /2011/10/docks-by-desylvia/
In fact I'm trying to get this overall look but with no tutorial it's not easy and I don't want theme packages, I prefer personal customization with different widgets etc. And I like that dock but I just can't find it anywhere. I've read it's from Gomorrah.
Anyway, I just need help with the PNG icon, I'll do some additional research for the rest .

}
Oh and by the way this lock screen and the homescreen are from Desylvia.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Background problem.

I have been trying to get my background picture just right, for a little over 3 hours. But it always wants to crop the picture. Even when I make the picture the exact res of the phone. (800x480, landscape)... It crops a SIGNIFICANT portion out!

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
That is the picture I want.
That is the picture I get... Why? And how do I fix that? Btw. It crops EVERY picture. Even the ones in the DSC Wallpapers folder.
Bump
lol... you dont realize that wallpaper usually are stretch (centered and filled) to accommodate for the moving of homescreen from one to another?
how bout go to the launcher and search for disable wallpaper scrolling and turn it on...
another way is that you just need to make the wallpaper a bit bigger... like 1024x600, something like that...
The actual wallpaper size is 960x854. Keep in mind you will lose a little bit from the status bar and from the tiled wallpaper.

Question why wallpaper looks darker than in the gallery

I don't understand why
this is original pic (in the gallery)

}
when I put in wallpaper
(if you don't see.. Look her hair )
After that I try to change ... and surprise !
both version !!!
BUT WHY !
Why have a beautiful display and put a "tinted image"
(for the lockscreen is same ... But I read Oneplus has already used the "image degradation" technique in order to be faster to wake up)
Sorry like you see, I'm French
I haven't change a phone since 2016... my last android was a Blackberry Priv (android 6...), so yes I have 5 generation of android to learn so maybe it's very simple
thanks a lot
From what I've observed, when you are on dark theme, it applies a kind of black tint to the wallpaper to make it more dark theme friendly. This doesnt happen when you are on light theme
Thanks a lot
nice wallpaper mate, don't mind if I take it?
