When I change the time zone, either manually or automatically, the times of my appointments in the calendar app all change as well.
For instance, if I travel from central time zone to eastern time zone, all of the appointments will shift to an hour later.
I travel a lot, and this has become quite problematic. Can anyone help?
anyone?
It's driving me 'round the bend.
I do not understand why this is a problem....
All appointments are linked to UTC/GMT.
Therefore if you change timezone, your appointments follow suit.
The HD2 has the ability to work with two timezones
(windows key, settings, more, clock)
Tab time, if you set "visiting" your appointments will move in time. (because of lock to GMT)
If you on the other hand changeyour home time it will also automatically change the times. (because of lock to GMT)
The only thing I can suggest is plan your appointments in GMT time, then all appointments will automatically move to the correct time in the timezone.
What I mean:
If you need an appointment at 13:15 EST (UTC-5), and you are in Amsterdam at the moment (UTC+1) (Note UTC=GMT) then the appointment should be planned in at 19:15 (conversion from EST to UTC adds 5, from UTC to Amsterdam +1)
This is actually also the time you should make a phonecall to someone in EST at 13:15. (To rech a person at 13:15 in EST, you will need to call them at 19:15 Amsterdam time..)
Now if you move to the EST region, adapt your clock, all appointments will shift in time, resulting in the planned appointment beeing scheduled at 13:15.
The other option (if you do not like this), is to look for a second clock, which looks at the earlier mentioned "Visiting" time, without activating visiting Time (leaving allways on home time, not adapting that one to your new timezone)
Clocks Like SPB Time, handy clock ar just two apps wher you can see multiple timezones at once. (Commercial apps, quite expensive)
But there are a lot of freeware alternatives too, but then you will have to look for yourself (and WM6.5) as loads of freeware clocks are for PPC2003, wm5, wm6 seldom for wm6.5
I hope this will help you.
Hi Wilco !
I am facing exactly this problem since now I use my HD2-Sense calendar as my calendar "on the go" (till now I used Google-mobile app to call up my calendar)
I am syncing now my Google-Calendar via Active-sync/Exchange and it is really annoying when I am in a different time zone that all my appointments shift in time and it would be a hell of work to register appointments in UTC and wouldn't make sense since when I look up appointments in my home place they are shifted to local time too.
On the other hand I need the local time on my home screen when in a different time zone.
Isn't there a handy way to overcome this ? Having the clock show the local time AND the calendar keeping the appointment dates to home time ?
Maybe a reg-tweak?
Does maybe anyone know where in the registry I find the coding for the calendar so that I can play around a bit .............
Just for info: got in contact with HTC support. They answered: it´s not possible to have local time AND calendar dates correct. It´s an either - or
I mean: how stupid is THAT ??????
Now finally I found a somehow easy solution to this problem since HTC is of absolutely no help and won´t solve in the next 30 years
Before You leave Your time-zone call up google calendar in any browser, go to "settings" and switch time zone to the time-zone of Your destination.
Then resync Your calendar.
Once You come back change time-zone again in google calendar.

Hello Everyone.
Could you please help me? How can I teach S Planner repeat the event every 4 weeks?
For example, for tomorrow (Sunday, June 23) I need to put an event that would be repeated every 4 weeks.
In the settings there are two possibilities.
Monthly (every fourth Sunday)
Monthly (on day 23).
It is logical to assume that the first option is the one you want. But as it turned out, event marked on the fourth Sunday from the beginning of each month, not the beginning of the event ..
So, having to me the repeated event should take place on July 21. But S Planner marks the fourth Sunday of July - July 28.
I would be very grateful if you would advise how to solve this problem, or suggest a similar planner with the necessary functionality to me.
I have been looking for the same, but still not found how except to do it on Google calendar, was hoping they would have update this but it seems not.
If you hear from anything, drop a line.
Create the event in Google calender at every 4 weeks. Sync Google calender to your account. Then sync it to s calender. It shows up in s calender at every 4 weeks.
I'm looking for a technique or an app that allows me to display a specific Google calendar in an application with one touch and without the use of a web browser or widget.
Ideally, I would simply tap a shortcut on a homescreen that would open an android calendar app, displaying only the specified Google calendar.
The real world use case is that my office is in a building with a shared conference room that has it's own resource calendar. Sometimes, there will be a spark of inspiration and our team will want to get together in the conference room to discuss. Currently, I have to either run to my desk and view the calendar or go through a lot of trouble on my phone to drill down to the day, then hour and select a particular calendar to create an event to reserve the conference room. It would be so much more efficient if I could click one button to see if the conference room is already taken and click once more to create a reservation event if it's available.
I've used AppXplore to expose the intents of the built in Calendar app for use with Tasker. com.android.calendar.selectcalendars.SelectVisibleCalendarsActivity looks promising but I'm not sure of the Extra activity information that would be necessary to only display my desired calendar. I was thinking that I might create a Tasker task that removes all the other calendars from view, open the calendar app, and wait for a particular event to re-activate the other calendars. But again, I'm not sure about the Extras that would be necessary.
Perhaps there's an app that can create shortcuts on the desktop for each calendar. Or perhaps someone knows how to achieve this with Tasker or a shell command. I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a calendar app with a feature that's rather low-tech, yet surprisingly rare: I'm looking to add notes/comments/memos to a certain day (rather than event). Just like on a physical calendar one can mark a day with "watered plants" or "opened new pack of...", I would like to do the same on a calendar app, without it being associated with a particular event or meeting. I don't want to use events because they have a lot of fields I don't need to fill (like time and duration), using all day events interrupts my actual scheduling and marking the calendar is usually done retroactively (some apps don't allow scheduling past events).
Can anyone think of a competent and capable app with this feature, or at least suggest search terms?
Fame and glory for those who'll help
