No notification / ring sound after bluetooth disconnect - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am running the current leak of Froyo... if I bluetooth connect to my car audio system for hands free calling I lose all external sound when I disconnect. I have gone through all the audio settings with nothing appearing out of place. The first Froyo rom I tried redirected the ringer out the earpiece, the new leak kills it completely. All ideas welcome.... I will try anything. Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same issue. each time I connect to my car's bluetooth audio and made a call, I'll lose the notification sounds. even calls won't ring.
currently had to resort to phone's speaker function, but that won't do.
am scouring the net for some answers, and will update if i found anything.
Samsung Galaxy S

How was there no reply to this? I have had the same issue on every samsung vibrant 2.2 rom, including custom roms. now i am having the same issue on my stock galaxy s 4G! Help?

Bump!
Running Nero on Galaxy S.

Same problem with Vibrant + Froyo 2.2
Sounds strikingly similar to my experience with my Samsung Vibrant running Froyo 2.2 + custom Axura 2.3.1.3 ROM.
After disconnecting any bluetooth device, in some cases the phone's speaker is completely muted (media/system/notification volumes all cranked to max) until I either reboot or make a voice call and enable speakerphone.
I've hunted high and low on the webternets for a solution and have come up dry.
I smell a bug.

Same problem Stock Vibrant 2.2

Thanks, I guess - at least I don't have to keep rebooting since the voice call/speakerphone workaround gets my sound back. This is a PITA.

I have the same issue in MIUI_Au since 1.10.x revisions (previous versions worked OK). I had exactly the same problem 6 months ago with Villain ROM and it was the reason I dumped it. It seems to be a CM7 issue...

Thanks for that...keeps me from having to reboot. And I'm even running (embarrassingly) the 2.2 update direct from Samsung. Need to finally take the time to root…

[Q] Low call volume using headphones

Morning all,
Love this phone, love love love. What I'm worried about though is the in call volume on headphones. Doesn't matter whether I'm using the supplied Samsung ones or a set of Sony ones the volume is so low that the person at the other end is in audible.
I have no problems with volume on anything else (as in music player on in call volume using the actual phone)
Anyone else experiencing this or am I just very unlucky.
I've noticed this too. When having earphones plugged in the call volume is just too low. Last night I had to plug mine out and xall again because I couldn't hear her properly. Good point

this is absolutely the worst news possible, because i make 99% of all my calls with my headset. you guys are saying it is not usable? most of my calls are on the freeway with loud raod noise.
Post on here somewhere secret codes for volume ++

Not sure about volume with the earpieces with mic that came with the sgs2 but my sony earphones volume was quite low during call. I get calls when I'm listening to music a lot.

this app seems to have fixed it for me give it a try it ups the headset volume over default levels.. works fine for my sgs ii
i think you may need to be rooted to use it but not sure
Does it have HAC mode? Setings > Call settings > HAC mode. I set that on my SGS to increase call volume.
+1 on the issue, will try the apk tmo

I would like to know about the "HAC" mode to, I wear hearing aids in both ears and it's important to me.

I wonder if this is connectd to another very frustrating problem I've just discovered. When I go out running, I normally have Spotify playing in the background and CardioTrainer occasionally prompting me with updates on how badly I'm doing. Worked fine on my old Galaxy S, now I can't hear the updates over the music because they are so quiet. I've tried fiddling with all the settings, and have also tried Endomondo and SportsTracker and they all seem to have the same problem. Anyone else tried this?
Fixed in latest update

Hey champ, you said this was fixed in the latest update but I just got my galaxy last week from Vodafone Australia and mine has this issue. What update fixed yours and does anyone else know about any fixes?
Fixed? In which update?
Hey,
I have this problem on my (sim-less) SGS2, and no update is available.
Any version number?
i'm having the same problem too. i currently use the stock headset, and am thinking of getting a BT headset as i get calls while driving. tried the app, did not help.
can someone one please help? it will be even better if voodoo sound is developed for i9100. *fingers crossed*
yep. same problem here!
Noticed it as well - on headphones Senn PX 100 II - very annoying (have to plug out the phones each time)
Also noticed the volume problem. The overall voice call quality is not great either. Can someone confirm if the apk. fix helped and if it needs the root access?

[Q] Cannot hear calls. Simply Honey 3.3

I have simply honey 3.3 and my sound from my main phone speaker (the one you listen to normal calls, not the loud speaker on the back) doesnt work any more. I can't hear calls unless I turn on the loud speaker, or anything else. I've messed with the volume with no luck. I'm relatively new to flashing, and what not, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. I'm using T959 Vibrant Samsung Galaxy. I can't find anyone else with my problem.
I'm not sure if anyone can get me a perfect answer, but does anyone at least have a thought of what I should do? should I try re-flashing again?
Edit: I posted this in General Q/A on the main forum but decided this might be a better place since its Vibrant related.
Have you flashed the newest update with the new bullet kernel? That fixes all of the found routing issues, if you haven't then go under Widgets and use the headset toggle. Enable it and you should be fine.

[Q] Ring speaker when headset is plugged in?

I use a plugged in headset, and when calls come in they no longer route through the speaker, instead going only to the headset (which I don't wear all the time). Is there a fix, tweak or add-on for this? I'm using RezROM's Sense Rom now, which I love, but I can't find any settings there. Other ROMs I have used do have such settings exposed (Virtuous ROM was my Dinc2 ROM). Any help appreciated.
Thanks!
Craig
I have often wondered about this myself, as I use my phone as an alarm clock, and there's a chance I will forget to unplug the headset at some point....
I've never seen that setting in ANY ROM, but it certainly makes sense to have it.
I've seen that setting on CM7 based ROMs so you may have to wait for that.

Bluetooth Lag Issues

jonno92 said:
Hi everyone,
I've been running CheckROM v6 since its release and loving it. However, I'm having some issues currently with sound.
Everything was working until I changed my kernel and modem in the Kitchen. I changed to NEAK kernel and XXKI4 modem, and my sound started to play up. It didn't seem as loud as normal, and sometimes my alarm would go off but no sound would play (Alarm Clock Xtreme Paid version and free version). Also, when I open Zedge ringtones, when I am 'previewing' the ringtones no sound plays at all. I tried changing my modem and kernel (changed to Redpill + XXKI1) and there's no change.
My phone still rings and my message and Facebook notification tones work, as does my bootanimation sounds. Seems like the System sounds aren't working or something?
Any ideas?
Cheers!
UPDATE: I've downloaded Volume Control app and turned up the system and alarm volumes - and it's still not working!

This definitely fixed my problem instantly! However, I keep getting the issue sometimes, which is annoying because sound in some apps don't work, and my alarm doesn't go off some mornings!
I've tried different kernels and different modems and I keep running into the problem sometimes. Also, my phone lags ALOT when I'm switching between phone/speakerphone/bluetooth headset. I miss out on about 10 seconds of the conversation when I get out of my car and change from bluetooth to speaker. I'm guessing this is a related problem so was wondering if you had suggestions on how to fix it permanently?
I use my phone for business purposes so I don't want to lost 10 seconds of conversation when switching from bluetooth to speakerphone
Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers
I think it would be better if you do Factory reset but before doing that just don't forget to BACKUP your Contacts and other valuable apps...
Hope This helps..
Hmmm I'd prefer not to if there's an easy fix for the bluetooth issue. I can switch between phone and speakerphone easily, but when I turn bluetooth on then it always stuffs up.
I think it's ever since I flashed the 'Fully Modded Phone' mod, which I've now flashed over with a different Phone mod but the issue is there still...
Anyone else have any ideas? I've reinstalled the Phone apk from the original CheckROM v6 install and I'm still getting the same issues.
Noone else is having this problem?
I'm having a similar issue...
Upgraded from checkrom v4 to v6 previously and had various issues so went back.
This time though I did a full wipe first and now v6 works fine.... except when using it in the car with my Parrot MKI9200 bluetooth car kit.
Now whenever I answer a call there's about a 2-3 second lag before the sound cuts in. Making calls works ok but there's still a lag between dialing and the phone display/audio catching up.
I'm sure if I go back to v4 again it'll be fine as that was one of the issues I had before.
I've deleted / readded the pairing etc but no effect.
Any ideas?
hmm anyone found a fix for this yet?
??

[Q] Skype speaker not working

Gentlemen,
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy S III which I've rooted and installed the latest AOKP milestone, which I really like. Here's what I'm running:
Android version: 4.2.2
Baseband version: T999UVDLJA
Kernel version: 3.4.40-aokp-g4c49719-00569-g2b8fa28
AOKP version: aokp_d2tmo_jb-mr1_milestone-1
Build number: aokp_d2tmo-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39
Aside from the occasional random reboot, which I can live with, the only problem I have is with Skype. It won't play audio over the loud speaker on the back of the phone. Audio only comes through the earpiece which is much too quiet. Ringing, call audio, everything plays through the earpiece. In an audio-only call, you have the option to toggle between the earpiece or the speaker, but both options just play through the earpiece.
Making a normal speakerphone call (not using Skype) works great. Skype just can't seem to use the speaker. What can I do to diagnose and fix this?
I know it sounds obvious, but I gotta ask anyway. Have you checked the settings in Skype?

Yes, I've been through all the settings and there's nothing about speaker vs. earpiece. The only option I've seen to toggle between the two is when I'm on a voice only call. However, when I've tried toggling speaker/earpiece, sound will play on the speaker for half a second then go back to earpiece.

I'm having the same problem. In my case there is no choice of speaker in Skype at all (not within setting nor while calling). I have seen some print-screens of the mobile Skype and there was as option for switching to loud speaker/headset while talking (a blue icon with speaker/headset). However, when I'm making a call, I don't have such option. I went through all sorts of discussion, but I haven't seen any solution to this.
Resolved
Regarding the option to switch speakers during a call, it's only available during a voice call. If video is enabled, the option disappears.
It seems the issue has been mostly resolved for me. I'm not sure if the problem was with CyanogenMod or Skype. Since I couldn't find a solution in May, I just abandoned using it on my phone. I didn't pick it back up until a week ago when I upgraded to CyanogenMod 10.1.0-d2tmo and got the latest Skype app (recently released). Now everything mostly works as it should. It's still buggy, but usable.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo.
I was searching for this Skype Bug Fix everywhere, with no success
But today I was trying everything, and my speaker started working after I putted volume less then have.
So by putting lower volume it works on my Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo (GT-I9060)
