[Q] Ring speaker when headset is plugged in? - HTC Rezound

I use a plugged in headset, and when calls come in they no longer route through the speaker, instead going only to the headset (which I don't wear all the time). Is there a fix, tweak or add-on for this? I'm using RezROM's Sense Rom now, which I love, but I can't find any settings there. Other ROMs I have used do have such settings exposed (Virtuous ROM was my Dinc2 ROM). Any help appreciated.
Thanks!
Craig

I have often wondered about this myself, as I use my phone as an alarm clock, and there's a chance I will forget to unplug the headset at some point....

I've never seen that setting in ANY ROM, but it certainly makes sense to have it.

I've seen that setting on CM7 based ROMs so you may have to wait for that.

Headphone problem

Hey there folks. I'm looking for some type of script or adb command to over-ride the headphones for every sound when they're plugged in. When using cyanogenmod I found a CM setting, under the sound sub menu, that allows me to over-ride the headphones on particular sounds. This makes me believe there has to be a way to do it for every sound including music and phone calls. Any insight or direction would he appreciated. Thanks

Settings->CM Settings->Sound Settings. I think this is what you might be looking for and it's on all Froyo Vanilla ROMs that are CM based. Check the section titled "Note." It says all of those settings are applied only when headphones are being used. They seem to be what you're looking for. Hope this helps.

I appreciate your response but unfortunately that's what I already do lol with those settings I can enable alarms, notifications, and ringtone. My hope is that since cyanogenmod has those options, there has to be a way to apply that to the few things I still can't hear unless my headphones are in. This would include any/all music apps, hearing who Calls me without having to use speaker phone, and game/app sounds/music. I know my speaker can still play music because one day I was listening to music(with headphones of course!) And got a call. So I unplug my headphones and pick up the call n press speakerphone. Well, after the call when I hit end, I heard a split second of the song I was listening too beforehand on the speaker. That gives me hope that I can eventually overcome this. PS.- none of the headset overide apps in the market work.

No notification / ring sound after bluetooth disconnect

I am running the current leak of Froyo... if I bluetooth connect to my car audio system for hands free calling I lose all external sound when I disconnect. I have gone through all the audio settings with nothing appearing out of place. The first Froyo rom I tried redirected the ringer out the earpiece, the new leak kills it completely. All ideas welcome.... I will try anything. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for info, unfortunately it didn't fix the issue for me. Back to square one.

I'm having the same issue. each time I connect to my car's bluetooth audio and made a call, I'll lose the notification sounds. even calls won't ring.
currently had to resort to phone's speaker function, but that won't do.
am scouring the net for some answers, and will update if i found anything.
Samsung Galaxy S
How was there no reply to this? I have had the same issue on every samsung vibrant 2.2 rom, including custom roms. now i am having the same issue on my stock galaxy s 4G! Help?
Bump!
Running Nero on Galaxy S.
Same problem with Vibrant + Froyo 2.2
Sounds strikingly similar to my experience with my Samsung Vibrant running Froyo 2.2 + custom Axura 2.3.1.3 ROM.
After disconnecting any bluetooth device, in some cases the phone's speaker is completely muted (media/system/notification volumes all cranked to max) until I either reboot or make a voice call and enable speakerphone.
I've hunted high and low on the webternets for a solution and have come up dry.
I smell a bug.
Same problem Stock Vibrant 2.2

Thanks, I guess - at least I don't have to keep rebooting since the voice call/speakerphone workaround gets my sound back. This is a PITA.
I have the same issue in MIUI_Au since 1.10.x revisions (previous versions worked OK). I had exactly the same problem 6 months ago with Villain ROM and it was the reason I dumped it. It seems to be a CM7 issue...

Thanks for that...keeps me from having to reboot. And I'm even running (embarrassingly) the 2.2 update direct from Samsung. Need to finally take the time to root…

Sound not working except in calls?

Hi guys, I've had my Hero about a year now. The other day, all of a sudden my speaker seemed to stop working. I thought, oh great, it's a hardware bust. I then tried a call and the sound came out fine. That is the only sound working. Everything works with my earphones plugged in. Any advice?
Any ideas guys, I'm pretty desperate here -_-
It could be something wrong with your media volume? I know when you plug in headphones there is a different volume setting? Try a sound volume manager like audio manager .. there is different
Does the problem replicate itself on different roms. etc.. also what rom are you using.
sorry, I know this is basic
Thankyou for the reply man .
Unfortunately I know it is not down to a volume problem because also the ringer volume does not make any sounds.
I am currently on an ancient Floyo ROM as I haven't been able to flash over the last few months. I'm currently waiting for a Froyo Sense with working camera or a reasonably stable GingerBread ROM.
Did you test a handsfree calling? Try making a call and enabling mobile speaker (there should be an option pressing menu button while you are calling).
HTC Hero, as many mobile phones, has two different speakers, one in the back used to play music and loud sounds, and another one on the front to make calls. I think your back speaker is not working and that's why you can't hear anything except voice when you call.

Thankyou, I did not know there were two different speakers, although I suppose it makes sense when you think about it!
Tried what you said and my back speaker is definitely knackered - may have just persuaded myself to get a Z >_>
cheers

[Q] Cannot hear calls. Simply Honey 3.3

I have simply honey 3.3 and my sound from my main phone speaker (the one you listen to normal calls, not the loud speaker on the back) doesnt work any more. I can't hear calls unless I turn on the loud speaker, or anything else. I've messed with the volume with no luck. I'm relatively new to flashing, and what not, so I'm not sure what the problem could be. I'm using T959 Vibrant Samsung Galaxy. I can't find anyone else with my problem.
I'm not sure if anyone can get me a perfect answer, but does anyone at least have a thought of what I should do? should I try re-flashing again?
Edit: I posted this in General Q/A on the main forum but decided this might be a better place since its Vibrant related.
Have you flashed the newest update with the new bullet kernel? That fixes all of the found routing issues, if you haven't then go under Widgets and use the headset toggle. Enable it and you should be fine.

Switching Bluetooth "media audio" off for car dock

I'm running the current CM10.1 nightlies on an old Verizon Fascinate (Samsung Galaxy S i500). My issue is pretty generic, so I'm posting here...
I use a Plantronics Bluetooth headset that supports various profiles - represented in the JB 4.2.2 Bluetooth configuration as selectable options for "phone audio" and "media audio".
I usually want the headset configured for both, but when I put the phone in my car dock, I want the media audio redirected to the dock's audio output (via USB).
If I turn off the headset, the audio is configured to route through the dock properly and automatically... But I still wish to use the headset for phone audio when the phone is docked. If I manually configure the headset only for phone audio, that works too - but what a hassle going in and out of my Bluetooth configuration before and after each docking operation .
Any ideas on a way to automate this? Anyone know of a slick app that can handle this?

Did you ever come up with an answer for this? I'm definitely interested in the same thing I just haven't found a solution either.

Hi Jeff - yes I did get an awesome Dev working on the vzw fascinate, who goes by the handle of djp952, to adopt the idea and implement it in his GeeWiz ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38960693
I've since picked up a Samsung gs3, and haven't had the time/energy to plead for same option on the cm10.1 platform or better yet at the AOSP level. Please feel free to advocate for it.
