If u know this app, It can convert some pictures and videos to .pandora format ok?
I had to wipe my internal memory so it uninstalled this app and I had to install this app again but the pictures which were hidden there, now I cant see.But they are in SD card and when I hide some other picture in pandora box, it appears in this folder on sd card.
So the problem is that now a cant reconvert these pictures back to normal format and see them for example in gallery again.
How can I make pandora box to work again or how to convert it back to normal photos???
Thx for help

Hi really need help on this one, i was having problem with the sd card and was unable to capture photo or video unless i used the phone memory to save, so browsed and found a thread saying to delete the DCIM folder which allowed me to actually take pictures and record but doesnt save to phone or storage card
I seem to solve 1 problem then another pops up please help as i got this phone for the quality of photos and video it gives you.
format the sd card and ensure you are saving to it and not the phone
Hi
Start up the camera, go to settings on the camera start up screen. (Thats the one that looks like a small gear wheel/Cog.(Touch it) It will now show the menu. at the bottom left you should see a storage icon that looks like a sd card. If its showing a phone, then touch it until it changes to the sd card. Now all your photos will go to the sd card.

ive done all the things mentioned, when i use the phone storage it works fine then when i switch to storage card the camera and video dont work i just get a message saying unable to capture photo or video. could it be the sd card thats at fault.
Use the attached tool to check for corrupt cards. Just unzip to your desktop and read the readme file
Russ
thanx will try it now

How can I force system to re-scan both of my sd card (internal and external ) ?
Thank you.
Sorry for my english.

You can always just restart the phone to do both.
Or rescan the external SD card by going into Settings>Storage>Unmount SD Card. Then Mount the SD card.
Even restarting doesn't hide/add the files :/
I've never tried the .nomedia thing. I just know that if your music files are formatted properly, they won't show up in your photo gallery to begin with. I have over 1000 song files and I've never had any album art show up in the gallery.
As for why you are having problems with media scanning. You got me. Mine always shows 'Scanning' when it reboots.
Mine doesn't show scanning at rebooting : the launcher appears directly and i can use it directly too...
Can u try with a .nomedia file please ?
I use an app from play store called rescan sd.
Works perfectly and it's free
Hey i try it but it doesn't do anything ... I also try same kind of applications but any of them work.
In the application manager 'Force stop' and 'Clear data' of Media Storage and Gallery. You might have to unmount/remount the card to make it visible.
Hey, thanks for reply. I doesn't work but it don't care anymore : i go on my PC and copy/paste again, then it shows up.

Some of those rescan apps don't SEEM to do anything. Run them, they exit. BUT check your phone a few minutes later. They just trigger the rescan but it's not instant. I have to do it coz my kids use the WeeMee app to create avatars for all my contacts but when it saves them I can't find them until I do this and wait a while.
Ok so tonight, I decided to clean up my SD card. I had noticed that some how I had 1500 pics on my internal SD card, SO I moved them over to my external one and cleaned everything up a bit, combining all the folders. Now when I go into my phone and SD card, all the pics are TINY in size. LIke if the pic before was the size of the screen, now its 1x1 inch. I use wallpaper wizzadrii to set my wallpapers and its setting them all for TINY as well.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
you probably copied the thumbnails
I did now what?

If you deleted the actual pictures and are just now stuck with the thumbnails try an app called DiskDigger. It'll find your deleted photos if it was just recently done. It won't go as far back as a PC would. But give it a shot. Oh yea, must be rooted for it I believe.

I wouldn't use an android app, I'd connect the phone to a PC, mount it, then use Recuva to scan it.

going to try that now.
Also, I just realized that all the pics were on my internal storage. I know I never set it up that way. I have always put them on my SD card. For future reference, how do i get everything to be automatically saved to the external SD card?
You mentioned that you cleaned up the images by copying them from your internal SD to your external one - if what you're trying doesn't work, do you remember which folder the files came from? You can just move them back but I have a sinking feeling that you're going to go to your Gallery and when you review your images, you'll see a bunch of white boxes with and 'x' inside which indicates that you're missing the image that was where it was supposed to be when the Gallery accessed your photos. I did something similar a while ago, trying to consolidate photos into a folder on my SD and when I moved the files, I had the white boxes I mentioned. The fastest way to fix the issue is to move ALL images off your SD, go to Gallery, erase ALL, then mount the SD card onto the PC and move images back onto the SD, go to Gallery, and let the thumbnails regenerate.
It's a pain but if you do this once, you'll not do it by accident again. Android does something similar to Apple's iTunes. You can have files in several folders and the program will 'find them' for you but if you move them, you can cause yourself quite a headache.
Good luck!

The app I posted works fine, I've used it before. It looks for only photos whole recuva will find any file ever...
For setting it to external SD that's an option in the camera
Another program you can try is testdisk. It's free and it has recovered everything I've ever needed and then some. I've accessed files on a drive that both windows and OS X told me was not formatted. Got all 450gb off of it and could also retrieve tons of deleted files. It's a computer app, not a phone app.
So, because Im completely OCD, I was cleaning out my Android folders to try and organize things and I deleted the external_SD folder.
As you guys probably know, now the files on my SD card are unreadable.
Its a quick fix, first smack yourself in the face for being a noob, then jes copy everything on the card to my computer, reformat the card, and copy everything back..
however,
I use this app called Audio Manager where it hides specific files like text messages, videos, pictures, etc.
I've looked everywhere for those files on the card but can't find them.
Is there anyway I can recover those files? They should be on the card considering everything else still is, I just can't find them.
Anyone every have a similar problem and resolved it? Help would be greatly appreciated
Sorry, Audio Manager is the disguise for the app, the actual app is called Hide It Pro
Is the Audio Manager App still installed in your phone? In that case you can check inside the vault that the hidden files are there.. If that doesnt help you.. Send a mail to the developer of the app.. His email id is as follows.. [email protected]

Yes, all my apps are installed in internal memory, and I'm pretty sure (and hoping) that only my external SD card was affected by my foolishness.
When I go into the vault, it lists nothing, same as Apollo (music player) and MX Videos because all my media was on my 64GB external card. There's an option to s"can for media" in Hide It Pro, so I did that. Baddddd move, now nothing is listed on my external card.
Googling led me to a program called PhotoRec, and it lists my card as having 59 GB free out of 64 GB. I ran it, and it found nothing.
I'm pretty much resigned to having possibly lost all my dumb drunk party videos oh well, guess St. Patrick's day is the best time to make more
More seriously tho, I lost a few recordings I did of organic chemistry lectures which really sucks if I cant get those back.
I had a bunch of images downloaded from various sources.. I stored them all in a folder called myimgs or something like that on internal storage. It really annoyed me that they showed up in Gallery. I moved them to my external storage and that solved the issue.
However, I downloaded a bunch of music videos so I don't have to use data. I stored them on my external memory card, but they all show up in my Gallery. 400+ videos. Any way to not have that happen? Not that I have anything to hide, it's annoying to scroll through that many thumbnails.

I believe you can just make a file named
".nomedia" (without quotes) in each folder you don't want scanned.
Then open gallery app info and clear the app's cache....
Sent from my God Mode 8
Or use Samsung Secure folder to hide your videos from Gallery and only you can view it
The problem with using .nomedia is that the video players (at least the built-in one) won't recognize the videos as media, either.
