Charge phone to 100% keep plugged into charger reboot in to cwr under advanced wipe battery stats and then reboot then unplug charger drain battery until it turns off this might help. Also if you are not using the stock kernel that could give you bad battery life
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

battery conditioning isnt gonna extend battery life as most people think.. all it does is give more accurate battery % reading.
battery depends on how much you use your phone, brightness settings, what/ how many widgets and apps you have and how often do you use them.
im running axura 2.1 just checked 17hrs 34mins unplugged with 32% left
my brightness is at 60% about 2hours total calls, checked ESPNscore about 5 times, roughly 100 or so txt messages, checked Yahoomail and FBook more or less 8-10times each. NO WIDGETS RUNNING, not auto synching with GMail.
** i always odin to stock, then after flashing a new ROM in CWM, i always wipe cache partition, dalvik cache, and battery stats before rebooting**
well hope this helps

Thanks

<NOOB>Whats the best rom for battery life?

On my vibrant I am currently running Pepperake v2. It has alright battery life. However I'm trying to find the best battery life. Speed doesnt effect me that much. I am just trying to find something that has long battery. I feel that every rom I've put on my phone is just draining the battery. Trying to find a stable and battery safe rom. Any ideas?
Nero v3 is stable and battery is pretty good

have you tried enabling the Voodoo lag fix from recovery? And how was the battery life when you tried it?
I've been using Nero Beta 3 with Curio's Stock+voodoo kernel. I get stock battery life, with amazing performance, and of course it's froyo.
using ginger clone with voodoo.
On Idle, i lost 1% in 12 hours (did this while sleeping)
while light use, i got around 30 hours (music for a bit, a little web, texting heavy a few phone calls)
Moderate use around 20-21 hours (music alot, web alot, texting heavy, few phone calls)
Heavy around 15-17 hours (alot of music, tonsssss of web, texting over heavy, alot of phone calls, and dungeon defenders for a half a hour)
i use it heavily, and thats all i need, because when im not using it at night, i charge it, and 17 hours is good enough for me.
voodoo installed, no other changes.
Nero V3, even with voodoo enabled. It's fantastic. For whatever reason the longer I'm running this ROM, the longer the battery is lasting....it's almost like the phone and the battery are becoming a single entity....

Ok I have yet to try this currently testing NeRo v3 with lag fix. I've been using it for an hour with brightness on full. Gps on. Textinf heavily and im at 93 percent. Better than the last
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
You should turn down the brightness and use titanium back up to freeze some apps that run in the background that you don't use and battery life should be much better

yes, freeze things like...
ALL things that end/start with DRM its useless.
Media Hub
Samsung Apps
and
any other apps that you dont usually use..
i find my maps opens randomly in the background, and i never use maps, so i froze that, i can't use maps now anymore.
things like that will make your battery double easily.
Nero 3 by far. I can go two days almost on a charge using wifi, 3G, a little gaming etc.

Axura 2.2.5.6 so far has been the best for me
Internet, music, apps have been running on my phone all morning and so far I'm down to 90% after 5 hours!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I will also have to recommend Nero #. Getting fantastic battery life from it. Since i cant use my phone during work hours I just turn off data and use it to listen to music and I can make it through 6-7 hours easy without breaking 75%
Seriously good battery life out of this ROM

depends, there are 2.1 roms, and there are 2.2 roms.
Man, ive been running Nero V3 with no voodoo and my battery dies so quickly. Its a fresh flash and I always odin before I flash. Not sure why.... just dies with the quickness.
Eugene's macnut14 and gingerclone , have both been giving great battery life. Macnut 48 hrs and ginger 47 hesitate. Was using Nero v3 and got around 30 hrs. Eugene's IO kernel with superpower app is the key.

My battery is draining fast?

Hey guys for some reason my battery is being hammered, I've got trillian running cus I like to be signed in all times but I'm using battery saver mode and push to email
I have launcher pro widgets on half hour refresh I've amended that to 1hr and plume every half hour.
Screen is on automatic and im using gmail for email
At work I had 98% didn't use it % (in my pocket) 2 hours later I'm on 69%?
Is it trillian hammering me? I used to love being signed in all the time on blackberry so would like a similar solution
Thanks

check the battery saving mode under the settings on trillian.
I think there were some apps that were running. You can go tothe navigation: setting/application/battery use to see them. The another way, you try factory data to clean everything which you installed.
In the other hand, new battery is unstable. It needs about 2 weeks
Good luck

Look at your battery stats.. Sounds like something is keeping the phone awake.
As a general rule the phone should only very rarely be "awake" when the screen is off.. If it's on alot then start trying to troubleshoot the various apps.. Although trillian is definitely where i would start.
Yeah id say it be trillian, its a battery drainer program as its uses constant internet connection
I'm still calibrating my battery (it's been on 0% for half an hour and it's still hanging on for dear life with the screen on constantly!) but I have trillion so I'll check it out on next charge
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
If you are out and about turn off WiFi, it's a battery drainer.
Turned trillian off, still losing battery
Says android system 95%

[Q] Lights on Vibrant

Is there anyway to disable the 4 lights on the bottom? I'm assuming this would increase battery performance as the lights are always on when I'm using the phone.

Nope there is not. For better battery life you can recondition your battery.{wipe batterystats.bin} on a full charge. My battery life sucked and what helps a lot is shutting off the data when you are not using it. Your battery life will almost double. Depending on how much data you use.
Where can I find the .bin file?

Dont need to find it.. When your battery is at 100% boot into recovery mode, go to advanced then wipe battery stats. Or you can get battery calibration app in market. Both work good
That's odd that you can't turn off the home row lights as they were off on previous Froyo ROMs. It it a Gingerbread or a Cyanogen thing? They seem to go off every now and then.
Are they on all the time, could be BLN, or LED Notify.

[Q] Tricks for longer battery life?

Hi All,
Coming from a iPhone4, I noticed that even overnight when the phone is in standby the % drop in the battery is greater on the SGS3.
I am currently running the Omega V25 ROM and the battery drain when in standby is about 10-13% over 7hrs in standby whilst I am sleeping. I read a few days back on the Omega forum (cannot find it again) one of the users saying how great the battery life was for them...something like 1% drop over a few hours in standby....do you know if there is some trick to get such good performance?
I have used good programs like Juice Defender which brings it back to on par with the iPhone4, but does get a bit annoying sometimes waiting for the network connections to restart. Sometimes it even refuses to restart the network which is VERY annoying. I was wondering if there was something I am missing that can get great battery life (IN STANDBY) without 3 party programs like Juice Defender etc....
Thanks,
Ray
Its really all about multiple things
Make sure you got a good kernel. ..I recommend siyah
Imo juice defender hurts more than helps
Check your background apps running and close often
If your going to sleep turn off Mobile data unless you got stuff going on ...dl's dropbox ext...

Go offline on Gtalk, Turn off Wifi/mobile data while not in use. Other thing I do is Download CPUspy on Google Play to verify the Cpu Usage.
With power saving mode enabled I loose only 1-2% of battery juice over night. (Mobile data disabled, gsm only mode).
i9.0.1.3k galaxy imperator
First thing you do is turn off the WIFI or 3G(Mobile data) if you are not using it.
Siyah Kernel

What siyah did you flash? You must flash the kernel for jb leak which is 1.6 and not 1.5.3 because it is for ICS rom. Did you perform wipe cache / wipe dalvik cache?

Hi!
I gotta advise you that juicedefender/other battery defending apps hurt more than it should actually help. Think of it this way, juicedefender is also an app. App=RAM consumption, High RAM consumption=High battery consumption.
Also, flashing a custom kernel can help out. There are tweaks which you can do with custom kernels.
E.G. *Undervolting [if you are a total noob on this, then you might read thoroughly how to do this]
You can have manual settings to low screen brightness, not go to vibrate mode, led notif off, etc. And more importantly, CLOSE APPS THAT RUN IN BACKGROUND Such as: Facebook
You can never really rely that let's say, Person1 is having awesome battery life with KernelX because it depends mainly on your SETTINGS and STANDARD USAGE
I hope this will help you out

Well, I think it happened cause I put 1.5.2 siyah which located at Omega Kitchen...So I need to find siyah 1.6? then go Recovery > wipe cache > wipe dalvik cache? Is that so??

That's the reason why. Yes you can try that. Try to wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing siyah 1.6. If it does not help then the only option you can make is to full wipe and flash again the rom

Here are some tips:
1. Put wi-fi policy to never. It's in wi-fi settings.
2. Disable unnecessary sync (FB, google, email etc)
3. Install custom kernel, like others said.
4. Install better battery stats and find what's causing your phone awake (wake locks)

Whether Juice defender helps or not depends on your usage scenario and the app configuration (it literally has tons of options)
High ram usage equalling high battery coumption is bollocks. Each and every single operating system out there will try to fill the whole ram because it actually SAVES power and makes the device FASTER.

^^Was gonna post this myself.
Ram uses the same amount of power whether it is full or empty.
Having it filled with apps saves CPU cycles and therefore battery.

my battery status is just showing that the Android OS is the only item draining my battery at 100%. no other items are listed such as Cell Standby, Screen etc. i rebooted and even wiped cache but it still shows the same. anyone have this happen?

Wiping battery stats does "nothing"
Simply fully charging your phone and rebooting after will do the job
