4.mount internal storage as R/W.
5.copy and replace all the files in system folder of performance fix file to internal storage of dell streak>system.

I've just realized that the modules are compiled for that custom kernel (boot.img), if you update only the modules without the kernel the wifi will not work.
If anyone gets wifi error just restore the old modules or reflash the device .

You had an option (in install.txt) to enable it during install of 1.8.1 (...perfmod - Enables the 1.6.1 Perfmod Option, disabled by default due to possible problems...).
Did you enable it?
I don't think you should run it now.
If you didn't at the first place consider re-flash 1.8.1 with perfmod option in install.txt.
is there a easy way to remove the performance fix? i am on dell 318 now . or do i have to downgrade and then upgrade to the 318 all over again?
thanks
You have to put 318...pkg to SD, reboot in (stock) recovery and choose option 2 (update from SD card).
It will come to factory settings though (=install everything from scratch).
PS. Anybody with performance fix with no wifi problems?

Friends I found simple way to get back to official froyo from steves 1.4.6
just u will need a official froyo packge.
if u have astro file manager place the package in th root of your sd card.
from astro rename the package as
first irase the file extention .pkg
then enter nee extention .zip.
after that you will find the update.pkg is just a zipped file.
then simply flash clockwork recovry.
then go to install zip from sd.
then select the update.zip(previously update.pkg) then this will install all kernel, boot image.....
after that reboot your phone.
then you will find that you are now all official froyo.
this will help you to get back on stock froyo.
sorry for sms language that I have used in my post.
i have sent it using dell streak browser.
If you want the recovery(boot.img) original.
Then u can simply extract from the package by doing the same told above.
If u find this helpful please rate thos post.
Thanking you.
If you want the performance of dj steves rom u will need not to flash custom kernel
Simply copy paste the files from smokkus froyo fixx and replace to files of streaks internal storage.
I done this and got 1500-1575 on quadrant.
Anybody here can confirmed and have tried this method and work

I don't know how you did this but the original .pkg files from DELL are ENCRYPTED!!! You can't just rename it to ZIP and flash it!
no friend i just diid it.
what means."from astro rename the package as

then enter nee extention .zip."
I thought astro only gave read only permissions? Also i cant grasp how its possible to install an offical dell package via clockwork? I thought it needed the stock image to load? I also thought clockwork was only useable with custom roms? Confused? ?? If it it does work simply changing the extension then that could be really useful to know

wow it worked
First, I would like to thank cicada for the 0.6.8 image, thecubed for sdcard bootable CWR image, shad0wf0x for his stock images, dalingrin for his kernel, and samuelhalff for his help and his CWR image that I customized. This should fit on a 2GB or larger sdcard.
Please donate to the developer. Here is the original thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883175
This will erase your internal memory!
Flash with CWR
4/23/11
Went back to the 3/13/11 dalingrin's kernel
Made some changes in uRamdisk
Bluetooth is working
Wireless seems more stable
Try this without wiping data if you are coming from an earlier version
Changelog:
4/19/11
Added a status bar toggle
Added a feature to put up a notification as to the status of the status bar (this feature can be turned off in Nookie-Froyo Utils)
Added QuickDesk
Cleaned up the icons (I am finally happy with them... draw9patch)
Updated Nookie-Froyo Utils
Point of interest: If you set QuickDesk as your default launcher and add the status bar toggle to QuickDesk, you will be able to double tap the home button to hide or show the state bar.
This is a CRW zip. It will add some apps to /data/app but will not touch anything else in data so anything you've customized should still be there. So, DO NOT WIPE DATA. Also this zip will not touch cache, so if you have any problems you might format cache, but only do this if you are having problems. I hope by doing it this way will will eliminate any of the market problems we have had in the pass.
4/3/11
Status Bar and Notification window in black
No-frills CPU Control added
Added the following lines to init.rc
Code:
# sd card read speed fix
write /sys/block/mmcblk0/bdi/read_ahead_kb 2048
Updated NookColor Utils and rename it Nookie-Froyo Utils
- Forced Status Bar options added
- Change density and added new densities options
- Moved Reboot to about tab
- Added Poweroff to about tab
Updated to dalingrin's 3/31/11
Cleaned up the spacing on the status bar... Icons are not jammed up against the clock
This will not touch the /data partition
3/18/2011:
This should work on the eMMC version as well. I don't have a CWR package yet. Will make one tomorrow. If you want you can preview it now. You will not have to run softkeys as a service, but set the physical button to be one tap launcher and two taps softkeys for any app that hides the statusbar.
Unzip the attached framework.zip and copy to /system/framework/
This will be difficult for Windows users unless you have adb installed, but I would like some Linux users to test it out. I will try to write a script/app that will unzip and copy directly on the device. If someone else wants to write the script that would be okay too. I am try to avoid making everyone re-image their sdcard just to get the update.
Now to the good stuff, I have everything, messages, buttons and icons on the status bar centered vertically and the drop down notification bar is full screen at 160 LCD density.
Let me know how you like it and how you installed it. We need to come up with a easy install for non-techies that boot to the sdcard.[/COLOR]

I wrote a script that will kill mediaserver. Just type kms as superuser in the terminal. It will automatically respawn, so you might have to do it again a couple of times. If your nook is running slow, it is most likely the mediaserver.
Nookie Froyo 0.6.7 eMMC (.1)
Added a mount command to init.rc for /media
Added an environmental variable for INTERNAL_STORAGE
Zeroed out unused space to make the image smaller
Added some software
DO NOT UNINSTALL THE SOFTWARE INSTALLED BY CICADA (Apparently, removing this software is reason for our market woes.)
Froyo 0.6.6 Custom eMMC (.2)
Replace /etc/vold.fstab with samuelhalff's vold.fstab
Change /mnt/media to /media in /etc/vold.fstab

Burn to sd card... why not a flashable zip
i have 2 questions, does this fit on a 2gb sdcard, and do we burn it to the sd card like with the auto nooter? also, right this boots off the sdcard and does nothing to the internals?

wait so it does mess with the emmc? which means we can format the sdcard on another android device and the nook will still run nf?

No fixes, spent most of my time trying to figure out CWR and get everything on a 1 GB card. In addition to have a little family emergency in the middle of everything.

To update flash does one just download it from the market? Also Is this version overclocked at all. Do over clocked versions still have the potential to overheat/explode due to the battery regulator being disabled or has that problem been remedied?

Have u tried finding the file on ur comp? Connect ur phone, enable usb storage and browse the card for the file. What I did was made a folder called Gingerbread in the root directory of the sdcard and placed all necessary wolf rom files in there, that way I know exactly where they are everytime. Just a suggestion.

Without unlocked bootloader, almost impossible to brick the X10.
Yeah, I ended up using PC companion to bring it up to default ROM, and started again. Mission successful. This time xRecovery worked fine.
As for the -GB update - the link on this forum doesn't work.
Man, I was late, but I think you should try remounting /sdcard. Also, at that time, are you already on SE 2.3.3 GB? If so, what version of xRecovery are you using? You need xRecovery-GB-Ready for it to work properly on 2.3.
Anyway, here's the link to Generic 2.3.3.

What do you need????
- root permission.
- a second partition on your SD card.
You should have two partitions on SD card and both should be primary.
The first FAT partition is your standard SD card storage. The second partition is used for application files and can be ext2, ext3, ext4 or FAT32.
Some phones lack the ext2, ext3 or ext4 file system support and you may get mount errors like "no such device", "invalid argument". These phones need ext2.ko or ext3.ko modules and even some additional modules to be able to mount. Using FAT32 on the second partition will eleminate such problems, because FAT32 is supported on all phones.
Link2SD does not create the second partition, you need to create it yourself. You can use any partition manager such as Minitool, Paragon, Easeus etc. for this. ( I RECOMMEND MiniTool Partition Wizard Home 7 ).
How it works????
Link2SD mounts the second partition of your SD card as /data/sdext2 and makes OS mounts it at boot time.
When you select an application and press "Create Link" button you can select which files of the application will be linked and moved to SD card. Apk, dex and lib files can be moved and you can select all three or any two of three or even only one of them.
Depending on what you select, Link2SD moves apk file, dalvik-cache (.dex) file and lib files (.so) to SD card's second partition and creates symbolic links in original directories.

nice review.. nice tweaks there
i need to know, what is exactly the base kernel that you use in coffebun there? is it the 2.4.3 (405 kernel) or olleh (406 kernel)?
is there any edit/tweakin the build.prop script?
is any bugfixs there? such as sod, random reboot, etc that i found in gs 2.4.3
however, i'm interesting (hungry) to test it
nice job my friend
Great job, would like to give it a try however i could not download through 4shared lol... Just 1 question, have you manage to get the ussd code working?
thank you.
@ ivantastic
Baseband: 406
Kernel: 2.4.3 with internal tun vpn support
Build.Prop: Some entries from Nitro Lag were added to make it as a default on my built.
So far, didn't experience SOD & random reboot yet.. (using this for about a week now before i planned to post it here.)
@ marketblack
-> can't tell about the USSD Code thing since i don't use it here in Manila... You can try it and give me some feedback...

sorry, nubie question here..
is that the 406 bb or the rom that make it stable?
& i see that huge size file ±178mb there, i just think what files is inside coffebun.zip that make it so huge?
thanks..
@ ivantastic -> i don't use the Olleh Kernel... About the package... I just add some useful apps to make it as a default for the system app... Added more notifications & ringtones where you can have more selections...

oh... i'm sorry, i mean the 406 baseband,..
what do you think? is the 406 baseband or the rom itself that make it stable? because, as i know (cmiiw) the gs2.4.3 has it own baseband...
about the files inside the package that you added there, i'm sure it'll be bonus point nice job my friend
@ivantastic
-> yes, i used the 406 baseband. 406 is a baseband buddy... that's was used as well by _n0p_ in his ROM.
Correct me if i'm wrong
GS2.4.x uses 405 baseband / DSP
DSC v0.55b uses 406 baseband / DSP
Maxicet's ROM uses 405 baseband / DSP
DJ Steve posted 3 versions of 2.4.3 (MAIN ROM, ARABIC MOD & kernel with internal tun vpn support)
Mine... I used 406 baseband / DSP + kernel with internal tun vpn support provided by DJ Steve... And i guess it's a good combination instead of using 405 baseband & dsp. I just mixed stuffs from ALL the ROMS that i mentioned above.
@ivantastic
sorry.. double post....
USSD code woking all Provider?
5. Activated INIT.D folder to be able to execute SH scripts at boot time (Maxicet forgot to activate this on his releases)

New adventure !
I have just Nandroid backup for PowerRom, MaxicetDroid, DSC055, GS244 with latest update and same application installed to compare each rom in exactly under same environment...of course, as a user & tester ~~ not as a develper ~~
And,
New Rom comes in !!!
I have a question below (Sorry, I am not a developer but I want to learn as a beginner ~~ )
example :
SLIDESCREENPRO
QQLAUNCHER

3. Full list of code selections:
SLIDESCREENPRO
QQLAUNCHER
stageui
density120
density140
density180
density200
density240
bios <-------- what is this function as a option ?

Will report if anything after installing...
Thanks to give me another adventure !!

ok ive been running meanrom for a whle now. on version 1.91 as soon as i installed it i could overclock no problem. now im on v1.93 and i cant. where do i need to put the rom zip file in twrp in order to make my phone overclock. i know from root explore that the rom was on the external sd card whev i downloaded v1.91. well now i reverted back to v1.91 and my phone wont overclock again. this has been a random problem as i uograde the rom as mikey creates it . i have v1.91 on the internal sd card now and i have it on my pc. also the meanrom ics folder is embedded in the rom zip file. isee that in root explorer also. this never happens when im on wifi and just download rom to the phone. but the overclocking comes and goes as i upgrade with meanrom. my evo is so much faster when i can oc to 1.782. thanx if anyone can help
u have to flash the oc zip that in the mean rom folder.. when u flash mean rom there's a folder that go's on your sdcard.. there is a zip in the folder to overclock.. the folder should be in sdcrad not sdcard 2..

its on the internal SD now, not External... i had to locate it last night
Why don't you just use root explorer and go to system/etc and find the init.qcom.post_boot.sh file and long press it and select edit in text editor. From there you will see Mikey's instructions on setting 15 different overclock settings. Enter the level you want, save it and reboot.

Ok i found a way to get to the files thru twrp. if anyone else has this problem heres how i solved it. i went to the meanrom zip file for the rom and extracted it in root explorer THE ENTIRE ROM ZIP FILE. then it said it was extracting the files to sd card speed software. so that is on the internal sd card. so heres how i got to all the zip[ file options for meanrom ics. speedsoftware-sd card- meanrom- then there the zip files were. i instaleed rosie 4x5 land 360..worked fine..and remapped the right to menu..worked fine. and of course overclock which my phone still will not. i also went to root explore and changed the overclock to 10 but it still wont stick. my benchmark tests say its not sticking also. so if anyone else has any suggestions id appreciate it. also if anyone understands what i described above about the zip files and what i did is a bad thing then please comment. also it did not extract the rom file from where it was located nor did it make it not useable. i flashed the rom again to see if i could get the overclock to work. does anyone know why my phone isnt separating the zip files form the rom? it always has before. but ever since v1.91 of meanrom it hasnt. do i need ti fix permissions in advanced menu of twrp or something like that? also when i flash the rom it says that its copying the files to the sd card meanrom ics without any errors showing up. thanks to those who did comment. if ANYONE who has had any issues with gettin meanrom to overclock know any tricks to get it to stick please respond.
