After Super_IO_Kernel can't install new ROMS - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

E:signature verification failed
on every ROM I try to install. Can someone link a solid kernel that I can flash over this new kernel so I can continue my flashing ways?...

I'd suggest to ODIN to stock, but try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866840

Yeah, Odin to stock is probably "best practices" anyway every time you flash a new ROM, eh?
And the one to do it to is the Eugene's something that won't brick right?

I think cwr has the option to turn off verification look in the menus, that might fix your problems

I don't know, I always just go back to JFD, and as soon as it boots up I reboot, load up into recovery and flash away.

And my quadrant gets stuck at h264 encoding .

^ when you go to JFD, do you not lose root?
I did recently odin, each time Irooted my phone... apparently not realizing I was already rooted.

The update.zip is still on the SD card so you just need to get into 2e and reinstall packages, no root needed

Yes it made me laugh as well

I did what it said above, but I still can't install anything
I just get installation aborted (bad)

I would try redownloading the file maybe its corrupted

I'm confused I'm running this kernel now. Works great, but am I gonna run into problems when I decide to switch roms?

What exactly is this? I mean, I get it's a ROM and it's Sense, but what's special about it? I only ask because we've got quite a few Sense ROMs out, just want to know what you've done so far.
testing
trying it out let you know
Thanks for the feed back guy's/girl's. I'll try and solve the issue, but it's quite tricky building a Rom for a device you can't test on. expect another link up later on today.

Well I love that the sense rom development is in full swing but lack of battery and the lag annoys me so very much. and I chose to share my work with a community that can appreciate it. this Rom has been sitting on my pc for some time, I was expecting an upgrade but I'm still waiting and I want to have a flash ready Rom for when I get the device and also after I root it.
@OP - the sideload errors people are getting in your zip is:
1) use edify if you are using amend
2) the update binary needs to be API v3

Not those might be something else. Has any one tried a full wipe and.install?
I did a superwipe and then had the sideload error7 on any and everthing that i tried to flash. I ended up running the stock rom through the bootloader to fix issue then re rooted the phone.

[Kernel][TWRP Recovery][ICS] Retroid Kernel Beta v2.1 [CM9/AOKP]

New kernel moved to here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788148
Change log:
Modified Wipe menu
Added Mount menu (pc mounting doesnt work yet)
Set auto-mount for sd-card
So if I try this and want or need to get back to my old system, does the TWRP Recovery work with my nandriod backup? How is it different?

Ah TWRP has its on way of doing nandroids. But I'm glad you said something, I'll modify it to work with CWM nandroid system so people who switch can use their old backups.

I'm looking into it but from what I see TWRP Recovery Nandroids a different way so it will take some time to figure out how to make it restore from CWM Nandroids. But I will supply some directions where you can get back if you want to try it out.
Nandroid would be nice but if you wanna go back just flash whatever previous kernel you were on before. There's no harm in that if you just wanna take this kernel for a spin.

Lol it specifically says in the title for CM9 or AOKP which are AOSP based, SHOstock2 is sammy based. Go to the recovery and flash to a kernel that supports Sammy based roms.

Never seen this before??? Soft Brick maybe

So i tried flashing a couple AT&T roms using the verizon patch and if they didnt work just nandroid back but now i have no 3 or 4g and the phone keeps rebooting into a screen that says System software not authorized by verizon wireless has been found on your phone please turn off your phone and go to the nearest verizon wireless store for help. What is this a soft brick? Anyone know how to fix this?

follow section 1 of my guide...refer to the last part on going back to stock from any rom with odin. you need to flash the pit file and stock rom together.

Tried that 2. Downloaded both versions of the factory rom. One that puts you back 100% stock and the one that keeps your bootloader unlocked. I followed the instructions with the pit file and extracted the roms with 7-zip but the Odin md5 check hash fails everytime.....
Any idea what im doing wrong?

Lol : ) Thanks got it figured out. All back to stock now. It was fun while it lasted actually got a couple cool roms to work with that patch. Oh yeah and that note2core AS kernel is just stupid fast clocked at 1.920. Not that it matters but quadrant scores were over 8500

[Q] Flashing ROMs on VRALL4 ?

I OTA updated to vramc3 pretty much while rooted on accident.. Spent like 10 hours searching through forums and eventually found a way to fix it.. Anyway since i cant just use the stock vramc3 at present... I started looking for alternatives but can I flash like Beans Build 17 while having vrall4? Probably a stupid question but I don't know so.. Thanks in advance!
I don't see why not. The ROMs and modems are not linked per say.

Well.... I just tried flashing Beans Build 17 twice and both times i got a red message that said "Failed"
so either im forgetting a step somewhere or it just aint working xD
P.S. But at least its working at the moment.. I can live with that until I can update to VRAMC3 but im not sure how that's gonna work out...
Any information would be great but its 5 am... I aint slept yet so im gonna go ahead and do that haha
Yes you can flash ROMs and then you can flash the radio to update the baseband to the newest version.

As long as u update twrp like kint said you can flash beans on the ll4 radios with no problem or just download updated radios and flash behind beans 17 doesn't matter what radios your on. But u should go into goo manager hit menu then click install recovery script to update twrp .

...I then saw Carbon ROM... thought it looked cool and gave it a try... it sure did flash but jesus something went completely awry with it... more than half the apps were force closing and i had to pull the battery multiple times before the phone would actually boot so i gave up on that then i went back and used odin to recover vraljb... phew.. at least i can fix most soft bricks now XD!

Haha, fair enough. I figure it's always best to start with the easy questions, don't want to replace a motor when all you needed was an oil change, you know?
What recovery are you using? TWRP, or CWM, and have you tried flashing with another recovery other than the one your currently using?
I know it seems dumb, but sometimes some ROMs don't like to play nice with certain recoveries.
