whats upp guyzz,,
long story short...
my htc hd 2 crashes like every 5min, after an accident (screen was also broken)....
my insurance fixed after 1 month my screen and I just picked up my hd2,
when I run android, from my sd card, (Froyo hd 4.4) every things works normally for like 5minutes, then i get a screen freeze...
Not only with android but also with a custom windows mobile rom,
before the accident, i never had trouble with frozen screens ectt...
I think the accident didnt only broke my entire screen, but also some hardware inside my hd2...??! that's possible right??
anywayz,
before i send my htc hd2 to my insurance back, I want everything to be default...
Otherwise they can come to conclusion, and tell me ''i focked it up'' by installing some other software that isn't from the htc makers..
like the basic rom, the ugly one....
i downloaded it from the htc website ''rom upgrade''
but could there be any complications?? i mean, I installed other HSPL and changed the ''default'' one (which i dont know what HSPL the default one is)
and the radio? i installed radio 2.12
i hope u guyz got some suggestions or some ideas,,,
Ltrr!

If you already have a higher Stock SPL than 1.42 on your device then you can flash a stock rom using the goldcard method (if you have a goldcard that is) to downgrade your SPL as long as its not 2 or above.
If you have SPL2 or above then you are stuck and cant downgrade to anything.

I have SPL 2.08, now i cant downgrade it?
i installed the ''orignale rom'' for my device, it still gets stuck...
Even on the original rom, which confirms that there is something wrong with the hardware.
if i dont downgrade it, and neither Radio 2.15
does it have any effect on the device for getting stuck?
thnx for the link, but I don't know, is it al right wont it be any problem to bring my phone to the insurance (they bring it to a repairer )with SPL 2.08 and Radio 2.15?
you didnt say regular hd2 or tmous hd2.
regular hd2
-------------
run hspl2
choose 1.66.hspl
install wwe 1.66 stock rom as normal over usb
(if you have/know your correct stock rom, O2, orange, whatever, use that instead, but chances are 1.66 wwe will be fine for returns, its the spl/hspl thats important.)
run hspl2 again
choose 1.66.0000
done
tmous hd2
-------------
run hspl3
choose 2.08.0000
flash any tmous stock rom over usb. 2.10.0, 2.13 or 3.14.
done
Well
does SPL 2.08 effect the basic rom? like stuttering or make screen freezes?
if it doesn't then why should I change the SPL to default, I didn't cause the freezing first place.
my screen never froze before the accident, so suddenly after the accident it gets frozen for like every 5min.
Sometimes my htc doesn't even start, it freezes at the ''white htc screen'' and sometimes it shows like ''negative, black/white'' and I had once... it was stuck I pulled out the battery, and put it back in.. then hit the power button, it vibrates 5times short ( like buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz) WTF?

I got an iMate JASJAM from my father awhile back - a great hand-me-down if you ask me!
It's currently running Windows Mobile 5 w/ default just about everything.
HERM100
IPL-1.01
HERM100
SPL-1.11
Anyway, onto my problem.
I'm using the Hard SPL upgrade files found in Olipro's thread.
I run it and it works up until I select "Yes" on my device.
It then reboots into the bootloader and just sits there and does nothing until finally the installer throws an error 260.
Anyone else had this problem?
Is there a simple fix?
If it makes any difference, I've got a Mini-SD card in it. 512mb.
Go to the Hard SPL thread, page 116, post 1160. It tells you (and gives all apps needed) how to install using the SD card... Gets rid of those pesky sync problems.
You can use the sad card method to upgrade your os too, just drop the steps using sspl.exe....
Cheers...

i got your problem on my i-mate jasjam too,
have u solve the problem yet?
i face the same problem
Well I flashed maybe 30 HTC Tytn PDA`s (I work in service) and never bricked any... I never putted cooked roms, bcs this roms are stupid. And a lot of cooked roms use much more ram and many of them have simple appcliations, which you can to install alone... So,my advice for peoples : Use official Win Mobile 6 rom from HTC ftp server. You can find links in this forum also...And yeah I dont need HARD SPL for official... never bricked.
Depends slaki85 if the Hermes has been Branded... For example, I have the Telstra rom on my Jasjam, if I tried to put the HTC official rom onto it, I'd have a brick... The carrier rom prevents me putting any other rom on it other than theirs.... And it ALWAYS has a heap of bloatware.
You also can't put wm6.5 on...
Hard SPL allows me to put other roms, cooke or official, that I can't put on without ending up with a brick.
As for the guys who can't put Hard SPL on, use the sd card method as I said before. Its easier, means there's less chance of a brick and takes 2 secs...

Yeah, you are in right with 6.5 WinMo...I really tryed before Win 6.5,and expect few visual changes,he dont have anything new..With 6.5 or 6.5 + Manilla-TouchFLo,TyTN is very slow...what to say about ram memory...sometimes and 15 MB more busy...I understand that peoples always will put new rooms,I only dont understand why peoples risk...Expect if some win dont have some big changes.byw if someone want to put official HTC 6.0 rom,I tryed many times with 100% sucess in HTC TyTN and SPV M3100 (also TyTN but from postpaid Operators)..
I also agree that is HARD SPL good sometimes.I only dont understand why peoples change roms... : P especially custom roms...(few apps more and speed, ram slower...).But probablly I am subjective : )
Again, if you have a carrier rom they tend to overload it with bloatware, software and apps that use their sites. It tends to slow down the hermes and, truth be told, I've started with less than 15Mb ram using the stock rom... When you have that happen, cooked roms are a much better alternative. Also, if you use the apps cooked in it means you don't have to hunt down the cabs yourself....
Much easier....
tried this rom upgrade stuff, not for me i just cant figure it out, downloaded the custom ruu into a folder on the desktop extracted the radio rom into same folder ruu_signed.nbh & extracted the rom update to my desktop and guess what it just sits a 0 percent then comes up error 262,what the hell am i doing wrong ??
you should probably provide a little more information than that if you want anybody to be able to help you.
try and be as clear and understandable as possible, and list what rom/radio you had before, and whiat you tried to flash to the phone and exactly what steps led you to where you are now. what happens when you turn your phone on?
turn your phone all the way off, and then hold the volume down button, and while holding it, turn the phone back on. you should see a screen with a few colored bars on it, like red, white and green. exactly what all does this screen say on it?
hi,ive been at this all day & this phone htc hd2 is a piece of crap,i wish i held onto my iphone sorry for moaning but its such an akward piece of ****.why is it so complicated to put firmware on and radio roms etc ? anyway my phone has latest vodafone rom installed from htc site and hspl 2 installed and thats it,im trying to install a custom rom and update radio rom as it says to do so,ive put custom ruu on my desktop in a folder with the radio rom in the same folder ruu_signed.nbh.extracted the custom rom to my desktop and synced phone to comp,i got into folder and run custom ruu and everything runs ok untill it tries to install ? and the bar doesnt move 0% and then comes up fault 262
when i extract the custom rom to the desktop it put 2 files on
leo software upgrade & leoimg.nbh do i put that file into the custom ruu folder also along with the radio rom ???
heres my phone spec
os version=5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
manilla version=2.5.20121429.0
rom version=1.72.161.3 (82124) WWE
rom date=03/24/10
radio version=2.07.51.22_2
protocol version 15.32.50.07u
get rom ruu_signed.nbh or radio.nbh (or whatever its called, doesnt matter) and put in folder with customruu.exe
Only put one nbh in the folder at a time, if you put multiple nbh files in that folder, it will always flash the first one alphabetically.
phone into bootloader (yes i know the instructions say get active sync connection, forget that)
if the spl says x.x.0000 then you didnt run hspl yet, or you ran hspl3 and noobishly just accepted the default 2.08.0000 which is stock, and you cant flash. (Thats one reason it can hang at 0%)
If teh spl says x.xx.hspl then you are ready to flash
phone still in bootloader, connect usb, wait for word serial to become usb on phone right click customruu.exe and choose run as administrator.
If it times out again, dont touch phone, just cancel and re run customruu, if it still fails, still dont touch phone, just move usb ports and try again.
My money is on the hspl3 -> 2.08.0000 mistake. (or you simply didn't hspl at all, in which case shame on you!)
hi mate,im new to this stuff im an ex iphone user,i dont know what u mean by (or you simply didn't hspl at all, in which case shame on you!)i installed hspl onto the phone 2.08.0000 i ve done that is that wrong ???
will i run it again and choose 2.08 hspl ???
i went ahead and done it and it came up we hacked it,is that it ??
do i install radio rom first then custom rom & will the radio nbh be away or do i remove it then install the leo rom & put the leoimg.nbh in the custom ruu folder ??

bingo.
However, since you dont have a tmous phone, i recommend you use hspl2. hspl3 isnt 'newer' or 'better', its just been simplified for the tmous users (they cant use most of the options in hspl2)
hspl2 doesnt default to .0000 so it would have offered you 1.66.hspl (opposite to what you already had, 1.66.0000) so would have worked correctly.
hi,its hspl3 ive done it with, will i have to do it again with hspl2 ?
no it will be fine, just in the future if you want to remove hspl, or apply any spl other than 2.xx, (not 3.xx , thats different) use hspl2 not hspl3.
hi,im doing it now and it seems to be working, ive installed the radio rom and now im installing the custom leo rom,do i need to hard reset after & how do i do that ?
its not essential, but can sometimes help avoid buggy flashes. personally i dont, but if in the first half hour you feel teh rom is glitchy, do a hard reset and try again.
to hard reset
phone off
press, hold and keep holding vol UP and vol DOWN - you will prbably find this easier with teh battery cover off. press them one by one, until you feel teh click of each button, cos its easy to not quite get it, and teh phone boots normally instead. once u are holding them both, tap and release power.
Just like entering bootlaoder, but with vol up too.
thanks for all your help mate, thats the first time ive done it
Okay i have been going at this for 6 hours trying to figure this out.
I bought a HTC HD2 off of craigslist today for 200$ when the person gave me the phone to try it worked i played around with it and about 20 mins after i started messing with it ( the transaction had been made) it just shuts off. I go to turn it back on and it gets hung on the Stick Together screen after hard resets soft resets lukewarm resets.. every reset on the web nothing works i tried updating it nothing worked (from official firmware)
in the middle of all this it gets to a point where the stick together screen would be there for a split second going blank and the phone would vibrate 7 times.. no one knows what this means even HTC
i look online and people are saying install custom firmware sooo i downgrade from 2.10.0000 to 2.08.0000 and install a custom firmwar Kumar v4.1 touch premium with thier recomended Radio file.. i do this about 3 times.. now instead of "Stuck together" its stuck on the custom flash splash screen.
i tried the task 29 and doing it all over again and im still stuck
HOW DO I FIX THIS? did i just spend $200 on a peice of $#!7 paper weight?
any advice would be helpful.. though "search the thread noob" wont be applicable to me .. i searched it for a few hours to no avail.
if i missed the page please direct me to it instead of being snide about it chewing me out for spam post wont help me fix my problem
Set your device into Bootloader
- turn off device
- press and hold volume down button
- pres shortly on the power button
- you will see now a 4 color screen = bootloader
=> can you communicate us the values you see on your bootloader screen.
And just a question, witch Radio did you install?
PB81120 SS-B3
SPL-2.08HSPL 8G XE
0x05
Cotullahspl 0x50
as for the radio:
Radio Leo 2.15.50.14

I don't see direct reasons of problems based on this information.
Maybe a suggestion is to install a newer stock rom.
that was the first thing i tried when i first got the phone, when that didnt fix it i resorted to installing custom firmware.. right after i went on the forum and posetd i installed artemis custom fw and left the battery out over night and when i woke up i put the battery back in and it worked perfectly.. well almost.. it booted up none of the programs would work no camera no game nothing it always said either program wasnt set up or there wasnt enough memory on the phone. so i turned it off ( huge mistake) and put the most recent stock firmware on it after reverting the HSPL back into the SPL 2.08.0000 and its stuck on the stick together screen again
Can you get it into BootLoader Mode, as I suspect that the SPL is still 3.03.0000
You cannot use HSPL3 when you have a 3.03.0000 SPL on the phone.
What stock ROM are you trying to flash?
T-Mobile_HD2_MR_Software_3.14.531.1
thats the name of the file i downloaded to do it .. i reinstalled the stock SPL and tried upgrading it to the file ^^^^ left the battery out for 30 mins plugged it all in , it booted does alot of stuff but when i touch the camera button it froze shut down and locked me out again at the Stuck together screen.
im willing to donate 30$ to whoever can help me fix this
i have more info about the crashes and whatnot
today i have been keeping a record of how long the phone is on for and what im doing when it crashes and wont reboot without keepign the battery out for 15+ minutes
turning vibration on for ringer was only on for 5 mins
using the camera not even taking a picture just looking through the lense on for about 15 mins
trying to send a text message on for about 10 mins
just now had one whil just letting it sit there after 15 mins
i have still been browsing the forums for solutions im thinking it could be the radio file im using that futzing up so ima try that
also .. WTF does MTTY actualy mean .. is it a more formatting formatting utility .. or.. what?
Okay so i updated the radio to Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14
and now when i turn on the phone it vibrates 7 times with no image
if i leave the battery out for 15+ minutes it boots up just fine till i start to actualy use it. i can play a video listen to a song but i turn off data and then turn on wifi and it locked up on me, only way to get it to turn back on is to pull the battery and let it sit for 15+ minutes again.
soo no one has any idea on whats going on wrong here?
sorry for posting so many times.. i just am without phone and it sucks

Hello guys,
I have a question, lately I tried some different ROM's and also a Windows 7 rom. But after a while my touch screen stopped working, so I resetted my phone returned it to it's original state with the normal windows 6.5 rom and brought it back to the shop, although I forgot to change my HSPL.. Now HTC says that my guarantee expired due to me modding my software. Now there is another shop in my city that has a HTC repaircenter so I was planning on bringing it there, I restored it to the original HSPL, but when I try to update my ROM back to the STOCK rom it stays still on 0% while trying to update it. So I'm quite unsure what the state of my telephone is, wether my touchscreen is broken or not because if you could've seen the state my phone is in you would think it's brand new. So I find it hard to believe that my touch screen really broke since I never dropped it. If anyone could help me out what to do, because HTC send me a bill of €480,- if I want to repair that phone and that is outrageous ofcourse.
If anyone has any other idea's, how to get my stockrom back on or take it to another shop where they repair cellphone's, please enlighten me!
wrong stock rom often causes hang at 0%, you sure its the correct stock rom for your phone? cant just use any hd2 stock rom.
Yeah, I'm 100% sure it's the right stock rom.
when you say 'I restored it to the original hspl', , which spl did you set? (which spl shows in bootloader, now?) Also, what does teh top line of bootloader say?
Pb81100 hx-bc
spl-2.08.0000 8g xe
thats not a regular hd2 stock spl, that's only stock spl for tmous phones. send a regular hd2 back with that spl and they will know you've been hacking it.
assuming you don't have a tmous (hd2 model and full filename of any roms being discussed is always very useful in post 1), use hspl2 to set 1,66,0000 and try the sd card flash again. I've tried reverting to stock O2 UK rom from spl 2.08 in the past with the same failure. reverting to 1,66 and the flashing fixed it.
Alright, I've read on some forums that that was the right HSPL. Do you by any change have a link to that HSPL or can I just google it because I'd rather not download any risky files anymore since my phone is ****ed up as it is right now. Thank you so much for answering my questions mate, you've been a great help though.

its the right 'spl' (its not an 'hspl', , , its an 'spl' ) for a tmous phone, ,
go get hspl2.exe from the hspl thread (or see links in my sig) run it, choose 1.66.0000 or 1.66.hspl
(unless you DO have a tmous? you haven't said, and its hard to tell if you're american or not, , you said 'cellphone', but alos 'shop' instead of store, so hard to tell, hehe)) , and i havent looked up the Pb81100 hx-bc code to check)

Oh my bad, I am from the Netherlands. Alright I'll try that, thanks for your help mate.
Alright, I got Windows Mobile running again. Thanks for that. Although my touch screen is still not working sadly enough.... Guess I'll have to pay a visit to a phonestore.
good to know for sure that 2.08.0000 prevents downgrading. confirmation is always useful.
Unlucky about the screen.
Hello,
As told in the title I can't get the 576MB to work.
I have the 2.15.50.14 Radio and HSPL (3.03.HSPL) with the latest HD2O Rom installed.
I also can't get my Leicke 3600mAh extended battery to work, but several revievs say it works after an update of the latest stock rom.
What I've tried:
- Task29 + Radio flashed again in bootloader mode + HD2O installed in bootloader mode
- installing 2.02.HSPL and the same procedure as above.
LEODIAG.nbh also said that the full 576MB RAM are ok, but why can't I unlock them with the new Radio + "576MB Ram"-ROM ?
Am I flashing it wrong or have I forgot something?
Thank you for helping me
hspl 3.03 won't get you 576, you'll only get 448, flash the 2.08 and you'll get 576mb. Good luck.
i agree, flash with 20.8 and i will be ok.
Thanks, problem solved
I had the wrong radio last time on 2.08 ...
Anyone has ever understood why HTC chose to use only 448MB of the total ram? With the last SPL HTC had to use all the ram like the american version.

No they didn't, the 3.14 roms for the regular hd2, which come with radio 2.15.50 and spl 3.03.0000 don't unlock the extra ram, and neither do custom roms that use spl 3.03. (Artemis rom, for example)
Hi there Sam,
You seem very knowledgeable regarding flashing the HD2 so I wonder if you might help me if you can?
I recently bought a second HD2 from an ebay seller. It was described as having a white screen.
On receiving the phone I powered it up it booted to the white screen, no hTC logo. I rebooted to the bootloader and was able to connect via usb. The screen showed spl 2.08.???/ and cotulla from memory. I contacted HTC, UK support and gave them the IMEI no. from which they told me that the phone was unlocked and running the 3.14 WWE software. I therefore assumed that a failed attempt had been made to flash the phone with some other software so I downloaded the RUU 3.14 and attempted a reload via USB. After around 60% the upload failed giving a 270 error and the phone rebooted to the white screen but this time with the HTC logo. Bootloader now shows spl 3.03.0000.
I have tried different roms, Task 29, radio only roms, HSPL 4 all but to no avail usually only part loading before errors halt the process. HSPL 4 tries to load the progress bar reaches say 90% then rolls back doing this a few times before giving an error and quitting. I akso n=made 2 different gold cards thanks to your image creator but again to no avail. I prepared them using my working HD2.
I then began to think about bad blocks and came across the LEOdiag.nbh rom. I ran this from the sd card, it started up but halts at Jump to Diagnostics.
I now feel I'm at a dead end would welcome any other ideas of clearing the rom and/or repairing any bad blocks, unless the rom is busted in which case it would mean a replacement main board.
Geoff.
See your pm, but prepare for bad news
Have you tried unlocking the bootloader via whitecard emulator such as XTC clip?
On some HTC Devices you could only access everything in the Diag App when a whitecard emulator is attached
Maybe I could help you, I no longer have my HTC HD2 but I gained a lot of experience thanks to the XDA Dev community
