Yes, I saw that thread, thanks. But, I think I am asking a different question. I want to know if it is safe to use non-OEM chargers, not if they work or not?

5V are 5V
so where is the problem?

Well, I have one that says 6.8-9 V
Is that a problem?

i would say: it will work, but may heat up your battery

It will work but it will take quite some time to charge the battery. I use one from a blackberry and it seems to work just fine. Left my charger in a Hotel in Nuremberg so its long gone.

Yes, I know it works. But, I am worried than it will ruin my battery. Since its DC output is 6.8V-8V rather than 5V?

it is the amperage you need worry about. you will be fine. as I said it cold take it twice as long to charge but it will be fine.. if in doubt pick up the blackberry charger. you sure 6.8-8v those are some strange numbers.

Yeah, I am sure. At least that is what it says on the back of the charger.

the amperage is what you need worry about. Since it is lower you should be fine except it will take longer to charge. The phone does have a voltage regulator in it so it will be able to handle that variable of the voltage.

External Battery Bank

hi there
does anyone try battery banks like this ?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anker-Power...773901?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3369c3d54d
they dont damage battery ,do they ?
They are just an external power source... nothing to 'hurt'.
Just imagine it as charging from something with a limited powersource like a laptop. It's not going to ruin your phone.
I don't know if these are available in the US, but this is what I would recommend.

Output?
Look, I have a WHOLE HOST of different chargers, batteries, self made batteries etc. I have an external battery with 2000mA (2A) output on it, and it works without issue.. the phone will only draw what it needs.
All you need to be concerned about is that it's 5 volts output. If doesn't matter if it's less than the 1000mA (1A) of the standard charger.. but it might matter if you are trying to use your phone and charge it at the same time (it might not be enough).
EDIT: btw.. good price on that technet unit. I bought a 13000mah battery for £40.
i think one of the most important facts is the outpoot power - it should be imho minimum 1000mA (1A) at 5V

How come does your 2100 mAh gets charged in one hour? A 2.1A charger will do this job, but damage the device?

Yes i noticed.. when i used my old HTC USB cable, the phone charged as usual..
I have a question though:
using a different USB cable, does it harm the phone in any way in respect to charging?

No it doesn't. The phone just takes as much power as it needs. The only way to change the "hunger" of your device is over custom kernel. But without this it has its own regular "needs".

could be a problem with a battery, for example my battery doesnt charge passed 89% and my phone turns off at 30%
this is due to a faulty battery or even previous heating issues etc...
these are issues you can only fix by buying a replaement battery

No. The slow charging is the phones way to protect the phone if there is a problem.

it should work because usb is 5v, the sony charger is 5v from the outlet, im not sure about the amps and the amount miliamps your device will recieve
try looking around before trying this as im a tiny bit unsure, i know someone else asked the same question but i didnt see if someone answered

Is there a Supercharge cable that is 1.5-2m in length?

Hey all, I was just wondering if any of you have found a Supercharge compatible cable that is atleast 1.5m long? It doesn't have to be made by Huawei, but I definitely need something longer than 1m.

Awesome, thank you! It's often times hard to trust what you buy off of AliExpress so it's really nice to hear first-hand experience.
I get my yesterday, and it work for fast charging.
I have this one and it works fine.

Got this one as well, tested against the official cable with 50% battery, both reached 4A charge rate.
Just scary to buy from AliExpress due to not knowing if the cable is type c compliant...could potentially fry up the phone if not

Me too, supercharge works, and the braiding is good quality so it's nice and strong.
I bought a pack of 2 from amazon too. I can also confirm that these do supercharge too. Pricey but as Huawei haven't released a longer official cable this does the trick. I just need to source an additional supercharge plug as a spare but although some are listed on amazon I'm a bit sketchy at purchasing them from there are they're sold by third party shops and. Fulfilled by amazon. Anyone else managed to track an official charger plug down?

Type C Right Angle Charging Cable

Hello All,
Wondering if anyone knows of a good Right Angle Type C cable. Preferably the Type C is the right angle and the normal USB can be straight and 6FT in length.
Looks like the PZOZ has both Wired and Magnetic available in 90° cables. I have never used them, no endorsement given.
If you want something that can be gotten from Amazon, I have used these and have no complaints

Those are perfect. I was looking at those at the same time I made this post and placed them in my cart for later. LOL
Thanks!
I use the PZOZ magenetic ones and they work great! Only downside is the USB-C connector is about twice as thick as the older connectors which pops out quite a bit.

As far as I can tell, it does work. I haven't really tested it out as the battery has been pretty good so far. Sorry I cannot give you a full answer to that.

Oh? Now I know. In that case, then yes, there is a lightning symbol on the battery when I'm charging. I'm using it with my power extension (LDNIO SK3661) which supports dash charging too.

Okay, I'm a doofus, my last OnePlus was the One, and I wasn't quite sure how to differentiate the dash charge.
To clarify, no, the cable does not actually support dash charge in my test, I just tried it with the original cable, and it seems like my power extension does not support it either, the Qualcomm QC and stuff, idk.

I ran my phone down to 8%, and stuck the plug in at 6:45pm, shot up by 20% (28%) within half an hour an another 30% (58%) by 7:50pm. That's around 50% in an hour thereabouts? Hope this helps!
