How come does your 2100 mAh gets charged in one hour? A 2.1A charger will do this job, but damage the device?

Yes i noticed.. when i used my old HTC USB cable, the phone charged as usual..
I have a question though:
using a different USB cable, does it harm the phone in any way in respect to charging?

No it doesn't. The phone just takes as much power as it needs. The only way to change the "hunger" of your device is over custom kernel. But without this it has its own regular "needs".

could be a problem with a battery, for example my battery doesnt charge passed 89% and my phone turns off at 30%
this is due to a faulty battery or even previous heating issues etc...
these are issues you can only fix by buying a replaement battery

No. The slow charging is the phones way to protect the phone if there is a problem.

^hes right, i also read it was due to overclocking so your battery doesnt explode

Phone dying even while charging?

Lately I began doing some gaming on my GS2 and this has happended to me twice now. one time while playing tiny tower and once on dungeon hunter. I will play with the phone plugged into my pc charging and the battery eventually drains. Is it possible that the games are actually using more juice than it's recharging? I'm currently running latest Unamed Rom.
More that the pc can't charge it quick enough. Wall chargers put out roughly twice the power of a pc usb port.

Don't expect much from USB charging via PC.

Its more like 50% more, since the charging for usb is ~440mA, and wall socket is 650mA. Also even at 650mA, at overclocked loads, the battery will still drain...
Damn. Thanks guys! I just ordered a few more batteries and wall charger.
I remember when I had my Captivate playing and recharging at the same time would make the back scorching hot. I bet this phone could do the same so I stray away from doing anything while charging it.
i noticed the same thing while charging via usb and using the phone at the same time. the phone will show that its charging and yet the battery is still dying. I chalked that up to the USB charger not having enough juice to charge it while in use.
as soon as I stop using it, the battery charges fine

Id say its dependant on kernel/rom as well. Im running unnamed and entropy's latest DD kernel (i believe its the kernel that dictates chg rates tho). I get a charge rate of about 1100 mah on pc USB and about 1800 on a wall charger.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
Not possible. It's been proven that the charging is limited by the hardware. Anyways USB has a max current of 500mA and the wall charger has a max current of 700mA...

Hi Jo,
Your AT&T unit should have already been bundled with an AC charger no? In your *excitement* over the new phone you may have neglected the WALL charger and it may very well still be in the original Oragne/White AT&T box...

I use this...USB Wall Plug....For $1.90 and free shipping, it works Great!!!! 1000mA output too.
Then all you need is a cable...Charging and Data Cable....for $1.80 with free shipping too.
FYI: Don't be shocked if the shipping takes a couple weeks. I don't complain though for those prices.

Charger not working

Anyone have a charger problems? My charger cable works fine as it recognizes when its plugged into a computer, but the bottom part doesn't work. What's really weird is when I plug the dock and tablet in, it will pretend to be charging and completely drain the dock to fully charge the tablet.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by "bottom part", do you mean the AC wall adapter?

Yeah that's what it should do, but mine doesn't charge at all. It just drains the battery on the dock and doesn't recharge at all. And I'm referring to the AC part
Hi Guys
Have a problem on my prime now.. everything I try to charge it - it doesn`t work...
Last time I`ve charged it was 2 days ago.. Have somebody the same failure ?

I noticed you posted this in WSG's thread...I was curious if you changed anything within the last two days? Rom or Kernel? if so, go back to what you were running two days ago (restore nandroid or whatever). Are you charging just the tablet with the AC? Try a different outlet? I guess you need to rule out all possibilities to see if it is actually the wall charger. Good luck!
I tried everything.. restored backup 15 days ago and everything.. but always the same - tried as well to charge my sgsII with the wall connectore there it works.. but on the usb cable I think there is the problem.. now I`ve ordered the wall connector and usb cable to replace it.. hopefully my result is correct on this issue..

My samsung galaxy s GT19003 not charging

Hi guys,
I tried charging my android phone this morning directly with my phone charger, and it failed to charge. I've been using it to charge my phone since I bought the phone. It just stopped charging today. But when I connect my phone with my cable to pc it will be charging. How can I get rid of this problem?
Please help out!
Seeing that your device charges from your PC, maybe there is a problem with your wall charger. Have you tried a different one?

[Q] Galaxy S3 INCREDIBLY SLOW CHARGE!

Hi,
So I have a Galaxy S3 which has been running perfectly fine on 4.3 however recently the phone has stopped charging properly. It takes me a whole day JUST to get to 75% !!!! I thought it was the battery at first because it had small black marks on it so I replaced that but still the same!
Then I thought okay maybe its a software glitch, I have upgraded to 4.4 which hasnt helped. Then I downgraded to 4.1.2 which also does not help.. I am stuck at the edge where I feel like throwing this phone in the bin!
I have already tried several charges e.g. the galaxy s4 charger (which is meant to charge the phone REALLY fast but still really slow!).. I have tried a SONY Xperia Z1 charger which is slow as well.. Then there comes the ****ty charger which came with the galaxy s3 which is extremely slow itself. I now know the problem is not the charger, battery or the software so wth can it be? -_-
Thanks.

Micro Usb port on the phone. When you plug the charger, what does it say in battery settings? Usb or Ac charging? Solution is repair shop or like me,custom kernel and increase charging current for usb charging from 460(standard rate) to 1100.

Hi,
First of all, thank you very much for your reply.
Ignore the second reply if you received that. I have now installed a custom kernel, the custom kernel I installed is the Boeffla Kernel. I have changed the charging rate for AC charge current to 1600 from 1100 and I have changed the USB Charge current from 475 to 1100. Are these settings fine? (AC Charge current is on max settings now).. When checking in the application "Battery Monitor Widget" I see difference from minus numbers to positive numbers so maybe time will tell the difference.. I am now getting a similar problem where, while I have the cable connected to the S3 and the other side to the computer or to the wall plug, There are times when it says "DISCHARGING" instead of whatever it is meant to say.. How can I sort this out?
Thanks.

But 1100 was the default setting on mine for AC and if I changed it to 1300 would it not barely make a difference at all? Its working great at 1600 at the moment to be honest.. No problems so far and the speed has made a massive difference now!
Thank you for this

Yes but you are killing your battery slowly. Default for Ac should be 1000.
It would make a difference,it's 30% more and that is high procentage for everything. Your phone, your battery and if you are happy,I am happy:thumbup:

I will put it down to 1300 to be on the safe side. Theres another issue I dont understand.. At times the charger is plugged in to the phone but if I move it a little it would stop charging?
1 difference I have found is that if the charger is connected to the computer and then to the phone, so USB charging, it charges fine, like I dont have to move the cable around.. but if the charger is connected to the wall plug, I would have to move it around to get it to charge?
Confused :LL I know the wall plug is fine because my other phone charges properly with it without moving it?

I dont think it's the wall socket that is at fault
More likely it's usb cable. Try another one, maybe you loose contact on the usb,not micro usb side.

Galaxy S7 charger dead ! Any ideas for alternative replacement ?

Hello guys,
I have my flat S7 since few months. Today, my Adaptive Fast Home Charger suddently didn't work. I tried to charge with another charger without any issue.... I really don't care about fast charge as far as it does hurt slowly our battery.
I bought this one :
https://www.amazon.com/Original-Log...3_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=Y8RQ09D3JHE3NKF8QRH5
What do you think ?
Do you have any advice for another OEM wall charger for S7 ?
Cheers

I don't see any reason in keeping the Logitech, I mean its way more expensive than the original and you can't fast charge your s7 (says so in the amazon page). Well it's up to you.

Yep ! So I will stick with this logitech one's !
aukey quick charger v3 is best
https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Charge-Galaxy-Qualcomm-Certified/dp/B018RR30TK
its qualcomm certified charger, and its also work with my 930f exynos (quick charger v2.0 charging speed only)
and charging speed is not too different with original samsung charger charging speed
Charger for iPad Air (5V: 2 A) works flawlessly too
