Hi!
i'm very pleased with my phone, but i'm having some issues that i'm guessing every lg P500 is having:
is there a way to port a driver of the touchscreen from another phone, since the device's performance is awesome and brutal, but everytime you touch the screen it lags big time, for example the "Reckless Driving" game, it's always full speed until you touch to steer. so is it possible?
another thing is gingerbread keyboard, for its improvements such has blind type technology and multitouch support.
Also, a port from cyanogen 6.1 would be difficult??
thanks in advanced

It has been quite some time since the HTC touch pro came and since the very beginning there was talk about running android on it. I mean I remember a month after the Touch Pro came out someone had Android running on it, although it was just a proof of concept and didn't have touch or anything working.
So how has is been coming? Is Android finally a viable option for the Touch Pro?
I mean I would love to try android on my phone, as long as it works with bluetooth and the hardware buttons...that's really all I need. I can manage without wifi, speaker, etc.

Sorry I didn't know about the wiki and I did do a search for android in the ROM development forum and didn't come up with much.
But I was just wondering what kind of experiences people have had with it and wether it has been working smoothly.
www.connect-utb.com
there you'll get newest android roms for diamond and touch pro

A) link is broken... please fix!!
link is fine, but it seems like connect utb is down. Give them until tommorow
Can somebody help me with a weird problem?
Everything boots up just fine, but when I follow the how-to for my mobile networking my hardware keys(home, back, dial & disconnect) won't work!
Does anyone have a solution for that?
edit: it seems to be that the home and dial key are also left and the back and disconnect key are acting like a right key
thx in advance!
You asked for an opinion right?
I did try the android ports, even tried the one that's more recent but I didn't find them usable. They're too complicated and things don't work as expected. Maybe in time they will create a usable port for the touch pro but by then I will want to change my phone...I'm considering that right now too...
BUT. Some quality work has been done and it is a really cool experience. I appreciate all the work that has been put into that project.
[Partially solved] BT does work with Megatron now, see post #3
Hi experts
I recently bought an Optimus T (LG-P500 showed in Settings), I am new to this rooting scene, but have some good knowledge on Unix.
I am using Megatron now, and either it does not support BT handsfree (cannot start a call from the button on my BT headset), or it is not working for me. And I know there are newer ROMs out there.
So my question is: What ROM should I go with / or stay with Megatron?
My requirements are:
+ good performance & functionality
+ no need of fancy interfaces or launchers
+ must support BT handsfree
+ bonus: memory cache for selected app (my ebook reader & browser)
+ bonus: if you run windows with its basic interface, or prefer anything to KDE, you know what I want
Thank you very much
same question
Sorry, not and expert here.
I have an LG Optimus T for T-Mobile. Mine is the P509. The Optimus T should say T-Mobile on the front.
The P500 is an Optimus One. They are about the same except the numbers are not the same. There are reported to be some market applications that look for the P509 identification and reject the P500 identification. The "settings" should show the actual model numbers.
The Gingerbread ROMs (2.3.x) are supposed to have problems with the bluetooth. The Froyo ROMs (2.2.x) should have a better chance of working. There is a lot of work on the Gingerbread ROMs now so things are changing fast and this generalization might not hold everywhere. I would also like to have Bluetooth for my MotoRokr headset.
I have been trying to decide on a ROM also and have trouble keeping all the posts I have read organized in my mind. I am looking for the same answers.
All replies are always appreciated
Anyways, BT handsfree on Megatron seems to start working for me, I believe this happens after a few restart of the phone (hold power button, shutdown, then start up).
The problem might be from BTmono, but I cannot confirm that.
Hence for now, I will live with Megatron.
My question still partial open for suggestion with what new ROM should I go with my preference in OP.
Thanks all
Hi all,
I'm lately using a lot in the HDMI port.
I have a couple of questions, first, what roms natively support LS?
Second, I'm looking for a way to know where to touch the screen without looking on it,just by looking at the big screen.
Meaning I need some kind of pointer to show where my finger is currently touching.
I saw it in a youtube video, named "Android 4.0.1 ICS on HTC Desire S(With Show Touch)".
People who run CM9, can anyone see this option?
Do you know another of doing it, in CM7 maybe?
10x,
Adam
Go to settings - development you will find it there, else debug menu entry if on cm7
Sent from my SE W715

Touchscreen with dead spots
I'm also looking to use my trackball to dial numbers and type on virtual keyboard!!!!
One of the problems I have just solved is drag to unlock!! This is impossible with broken screen. So I found the application AntiLock that stops this screen coming up.
If you find a solution for the touchscreen for htc (mine is htc desire) then please email me.
Thanks
Alan
Dear developers, I have searched thru the forum, but found no answer yet. So, please, if you know the definite answer, share it with me and the community.
The question is: on Android devices I experience lag between actually touching the screen and the event when the application knows about this touch (about 0.1s). Is this a mandatory for Android in general, or is this the limitation of hardware I have tried, or is this a limitation of Android versions prior to 4.1 (I haven't tested JB yet)?
I'll try to explain what I mean. I have tested several musical apps for Android and they ALL lag. I press the virtual button, and only after a gap I hear the sound, which makes it all unusable in realtime. When I tested iOS based devices the response was just immediate. So I'd like to know if Android device can ever do such things at all, or I shouldn't expect that?
I have tried several of custom 4.1's but no luck. The same lag. Can anybody tell me if this lag is a must for android platform? Or are there people who are not experiencing such thing?
