Dear developers, I have searched thru the forum, but found no answer yet. So, please, if you know the definite answer, share it with me and the community.
The question is: on Android devices I experience lag between actually touching the screen and the event when the application knows about this touch (about 0.1s). Is this a mandatory for Android in general, or is this the limitation of hardware I have tried, or is this a limitation of Android versions prior to 4.1 (I haven't tested JB yet)?
I'll try to explain what I mean. I have tested several musical apps for Android and they ALL lag. I press the virtual button, and only after a gap I hear the sound, which makes it all unusable in realtime. When I tested iOS based devices the response was just immediate. So I'd like to know if Android device can ever do such things at all, or I shouldn't expect that?
I have tried several of custom 4.1's but no luck. The same lag. Can anybody tell me if this lag is a must for android platform? Or are there people who are not experiencing such thing?

It has been quite some time since the HTC touch pro came and since the very beginning there was talk about running android on it. I mean I remember a month after the Touch Pro came out someone had Android running on it, although it was just a proof of concept and didn't have touch or anything working.
So how has is been coming? Is Android finally a viable option for the Touch Pro?
I mean I would love to try android on my phone, as long as it works with bluetooth and the hardware buttons...that's really all I need. I can manage without wifi, speaker, etc.

Sorry I didn't know about the wiki and I did do a search for android in the ROM development forum and didn't come up with much.
But I was just wondering what kind of experiences people have had with it and wether it has been working smoothly.

link is fine, but it seems like connect utb is down. Give them until tommorow
Can somebody help me with a weird problem?
Everything boots up just fine, but when I follow the how-to for my mobile networking my hardware keys(home, back, dial & disconnect) won't work!
Does anyone have a solution for that?
edit: it seems to be that the home and dial key are also left and the back and disconnect key are acting like a right key
thx in advance!
You asked for an opinion right?
I did try the android ports, even tried the one that's more recent but I didn't find them usable. They're too complicated and things don't work as expected. Maybe in time they will create a usable port for the touch pro but by then I will want to change my phone...I'm considering that right now too...
BUT. Some quality work has been done and it is a really cool experience. I appreciate all the work that has been put into that project.
Why is there only in the Android versions from the Nexus a voice dialing possibility? I like the mdeejay build, but again no voicedialing. The same problem with de original windows mobile HD2. I know, that you can use google voice search, but this mostly doesn't work with my Jabra. I still have to push buttons on the device itself, instead of REAL handsfree (pushing the button on m Jabra). Could someone please develop an app, that does the same in the HTC android, or is there already a working solution?
are you seriously complaining
Why is there only in the Android versions from the Nexus a voice dialing possibility....
............there are other build besides nexus....
I know, that you can use google voice search, but this mostly doesn't work with my Jabra....
.............get in a long line of people wanting this....

once again are you serious
Yes, of course I am serious. It's a mobile phone, so I should be able to use my phone handsfree. What's strange about that?
Nothing you are asking for stuff that alt of people want did you read anything about what works and what doesn't when you start asking and making threads requesting things is like a slap in the face to the devs who already know what's wrong just be happy with what's is working, or at the last post in the right section, like the general section..or post in the thread of the build your using

The question was not unreasonable. Was I complaining? I have searched all the forum, but nowhere I found a post about a good working handsfree feature. If there is anyone, who is not taking a forum-member serious, than it's you, thatruth132. If you don't have an answer, don't react. Everyone is making comments on builds, and that is what this forum all about. And say yourself, a basic handsfree-dialing possibility should be on a mobile phone. I was not slapping anyone's face.
I finally found a build, dat has the feature: mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.7][Kernel: mattc 2.6.32.9 #4, and I am very happy with it. All works fine!
And to all the other developers: I admire all your work, and please go on. Again thank you!
Hi!
i'm very pleased with my phone, but i'm having some issues that i'm guessing every lg P500 is having:
is there a way to port a driver of the touchscreen from another phone, since the device's performance is awesome and brutal, but everytime you touch the screen it lags big time, for example the "Reckless Driving" game, it's always full speed until you touch to steer. so is it possible?
another thing is gingerbread keyboard, for its improvements such has blind type technology and multitouch support.
Also, a port from cyanogen 6.1 would be difficult??
thanks in advanced

Hello everyone,
I don't know if PhoneGap is in anyway known and used by users of this forum, but this is the usual place where I normally find all my answers and I need to understand a strange behaviour of my app.
Unluckily I'm working on a thesys project and I signed for a closure contract so I can't provide any kind of source, but I'll try and explain what errors I'm getting.
Let's start with saying that I tested my app (built with jQueryMobile and PhoneGap 1.3.0) on three different environments:
my computer running Windows 7 and Chrome
my LG O2x running CyanogenMod 7.1 Nightly
my Samsung Corby i5500 running Motafoca FW based on FroYo
on my computer and my FroYo device the application runs properly, but when I test it on my LG, problems comes up:
once run the application, it just opens every single page making all the requests it has to (there are many buttons that would lead you to a different div and when you ask them, they make their requests, but when I try it on GB, it just makes all the requests at once, showing me all the pages, without any reason.
then, when I'm using webSql, on FroYo it runs properly, while on Gingerbread it looks like it neither save its own data.
I found on the net some links (here and here) but since they are quite old bugs, I thought they would have been fixed.
Can anyone help me figure this out?
Thanks
Tiwiz

Moving to Q&A
I apologize if this has been asked before, I did search but may not have hit the right combo of key words...
I am running epinter's CM10 and while following the thread (and others) have seen some folks ask the following question when responding to others that are having issues... "Do you have hardware acceleration enabled/disabled?"
first, before anyone misunderstand my actual question, I know that we don't actually have hardware acceleration on the CM builds.
But my question is: Are there specific apps or type of app where unchecking the box makes a hugh difference? And if so is there a list anywhere? Would it be things that are camera / gallery related? would it be certain games which have more intense graphics (which since I don't use any may be why I haven't seen the difference...)
any of your experiences would be appreciated.
