is possible to port the arc rom to xperia 10?

THe sony ericsson xperia arc have a similar hardware to the xperia x10, is there any developers that is trying to port the xperia arc rom gingerbread 2.3 to xperia x10?
thanks.
To my knowledge the arc isnt out yet so ...
But they are porting gingerbread. Its in alpha right now but it is in progress.

nope, not yet.
you'll have to wait.
the porting of gingerbread is now in beta version and looks quite well, but there are the camera and sensors not implemented. ok i could work without sensors and usb storage which was buggy is availble on reboot in xRecovery. So i just installed the froyo rom, which is very stable evrything except camcorder working and it looks very similar to gingerbread.
Nowdays there are those problems going to be solved (in progress). That means in a week or so we will have a good rom, and i think in two weeks a stable one with everything working.
Once the Arc is released I'm sure some devs will be able to port it over or at least components that could be used on our X10s. I certainly hope they can because that would like getting the update from Sony Ericsson they've neglected to give us all
not giving us official Update, SE follows a strategy to sell new phones, becouse no one would upgrade from X10 to Arc if SE would update the X10 to Gingerbread.
I'm so happy that the xda-devs are doing that great job porting original Android 2.2 and 2.3. And anyway the original rom, not branded by SE is better. It has not so much rubish system apps and saves the ram and the internal storage.
But in the future, when xda-devs have allready made a stable 2.3 rom, they will grab the original from Arc and port it too.
For sure the Arc's ROM will be used to make stable ginger for X10.It will take some time tho, but you can be sure about it

Official Gingerbread Release

I know SE said Q2/Q3 for the gingerbread release, but first of all, does anyone have a good idea of exactly when I can be expecting it? and will the devs be porting to work with AT&t since they didnt give it to us =[ ..
BY the way , the froyo Roms are great and some are very stable , Im just curious about using a stable gingerbread rom straight from SE.

I think TRIPS 2.3 MIUI ROM will be stable in no time.
Hi m8, from what i can gather SE didn't provide the exact GB release date...yet. the os will be avaiable only for generic non branded devices, so not every one will get it. At&t should be able to tell u if they will be providing the update.
Personally I've debranded my handset and will flash the generic global .435 kernel when the GB os will be released to see if i can get it through pc compilation.
Hope this helps

What I dont understand is that first of, Se announced that the Xperia cpu power wont be enough for futuring android releases and now they are releasing. Whats the logic in that?

They lie as much as I brush my teeth.
Think about how much disinformation, etc... SE has given us.
They say whatever is convenient at the time

Discussion: ROM development for Official Samsung FW (2.3.3 - KPL, KPN)

EDIT: As of August 1, 2011 - CF-Root can now be used for KPN together with its features and mods such as the use of ext4 filesystem and apps2SD.
For more details on this development, go here. Thanks to ketut.kumajaya for making CF-Root compatible to 2.3.3 KPN.
---Original Post---
I have just noticed that almost all dev, Scripts, modification, ROMs coming in for our phone (GT-S5830) is based on XXKPH or 2.3.4. While this is actually good and finally the Galaxy Ace forum is not a legacy forum anymore, I still believe that it would be so much better if there will be a ROM, modification, or customized improvement that will be done using 2.3.3 (KPL or KPN or the upcoming official FW from Samsung on 2.3.3)
Why 2.3.3? (Just because KPH is 2.3.4 doesn't mean that it's better)
It's an official release.
Samsung has improved and fixed quite a number of issues found on previous builds of 2.3.3 (KPN) and even on the leaked 2.3.4 (KPH). This includes the wake-up lag an Wifi Sleep of Death.
2.3.3 is already available via KIES (as of KPE build)
2.3.3 might be improved further. As you may notice, for now, the European countries are getting the 2.3.3 (KPE - Russian, KPK - Still a European Release, KPL - Poland, KPN - Spain). Imagine when it becomes available in KIES in America and Asia. There might be new bug fixes and improvements.
The reasons above makes 2.3.3 KPL, KPN a more stable version of Gingerbread for the Ace already. Actually, IMO it is really the most stable firmware for the Ace.
Most of all, 2.3.4 KPH might not be continued until the next Android version for Smartphones (which could probably take years before it reaches Galaxy Ace)
Current ROM on 2.3.3.
Currently, VillainROMv1 is the only ROM for the Ace that is based on 2.3.3 (KPE). It may not be one of the fastest custom ROMs out there for the Ace but it's one of the most stable because of using 2.3.3 as its base.
Still, even if this is the case, it would still be nice to have a new custom ROM based on 2.3.3 (probably KPN or newest build when it's released) because at the end of the day, a stable and fast ROM is what everyone is looking for.
Maybe if I don't work, I may have tried on cooking a ROM for 2.3.3 (KPN) but for now, let this post be an inspiration for devs and scripters to have a look at the latest official release of Samsung firmware for the Ace.
Your Opinion
What do you think? Have you tried using 2.3.3 KPN? Have you tried using custom ROMs built on KPH? Which ROM or firmware is more stable and faster?
What's the greatest combination that worked for you and lasted on your phone for more than 1 week?
i absolutely agree with above - not just because it's official etc. it's LATEST officially tested and released firmware, meaning there's quite a chance sammy fixed sth really annoying like infamous SOD's (and also screwed up elsewhere as usual ) but there always some 'but'...
the whole rom development goes forward along with new builds and usually it's progress (although many would point out kph 2.3.4 -> kpl/n 2.3.3 is not)
other teams, other roms - it is the same story. but it's just point to release new custom versions based on newer builds instead of postponing all development while waiting for THE very last build... let it grow
Yeah atlast we are out of Legacy thing......deserving the right place...... Thanks XDA mods
Using KPN atm. No more random screenshot issues and general stability and speed has improved. Also Three in the U.K are meant to be suppling the 2.3 upgrade next week. So a generic U.K release cannot be far off.

I'm using the latest brazilian FW 2.3.4 and I don't have any wifi sod's, random screenshots or whatever. Actually, I don't care about official FWs, it's nice, but I want CM7!

Never knew that the random screen shot was a bug. Encountered a couple of those while in KPH.
Hope someone develop a custom rom based on KPN..
I've been using 2.3.4 KPH for almost 2 months now and (lucky me) I have not experienced any SODs, WiFi crash or something like that.
The upcoming GingerReal seem to use 2.3.4 as its base, CMIIW.

Of course of course. I'm actually thankful that there are a lot of great Custom ROMs now for the Ace like FirstUA and even gingerreal even if it's just in t5b release.
Just saying that it would be nice to have Custom ROMs as well for the KPN at least since it seems like a lot of bugs has been fixed in KPN like the fluctuating/stuck 3g connection (I dont get that now in 2.3.3)
Also, just like the posts above me, the UK version is probably coming very soon. (English FW for the win!) Which could be a good base for Custom ROMs since it's already in english.
Last but not the least, it would be really nice to have a Custom ROM based on KPN or whatever the build for UK firmware will be that does not need a lot of things to do because right now, my friends don't want to flash to a custom rom because they are afraid that they may brick their phones because there are so many things to do in order to flash.
well, lot to do to flash custom from stock, me feel the same that's why i'm rather waiting for tested good custom (gingerreal possibly?) with good tutorial and howto. patience pays back i reckon.
+1 for a KPN based custom rom.
wifi bug is the most annoying!
what modifications are compatible with KPN firmware?
i'm talking about cf-root, dta2sd, juwe's script, the works!
Hi guys,
i'm using KPH now for over a month and i like it very much till now. Im using it because there's a lot of mods and stuff for it at the moment and the near future, that make it even better.
As 4 stability; i think al latest 2.3.3 GB builds are even (only lang. are different i think), but don't know about KPH because it was an earlier release as the 2.3.3 builds. There could be bugs in it indeed, that are gone in 2.3.3 builds, but only time will tell as the builds are to new to tell already.
Maybe in time i will flash my phone to the Dutch firmware when it comes out or use the UK version of 2.3.3, but till then i will stay at 2.3.4.
Cheers!
I may be able to give you a KPN CWM ROM gimme a day or two.

I'm like Saminos. I use this phone most of the time for internet because of work and I'm always traveling. But still, it would be better to see ROMs based on probably the most stable firmware release of Samsung so far.

is the cyanogen mod stable/recommendable for xperia mini?

Hello community, this is my first post. I'm no complete noob. I 'm coming from the symbian s60v5 modding community. Now I own an xperia mini and would like to know if the cyanogen mod is stable and recommendable for it.
Btw: Is German supported by the cyanogen mod?
yesterday I test Cynogenmod 7 (CM7) and install it on Xperia Mini Pro but I got some problem such as:
> touchscreen not working
> bootloop (yes, I already clear the cache / data / system in CWF but still-)
so I will say 'no' because its still unstable
most of cyanogenmods have bugs. i have used it in my x10 mini pro. i'd no recomment it because xperia mini have 1ghz processor + 512 mb ram which run hvga screen. you dont need to overclock it. + androjd version is latest. so better stick with stock rom
Thank you. Maybe the Cyanogen 9 will be better. What about the FXP - Project? Any experiences with that? What mod are you using? Or do you use stock rom?
i m using stock and pretty satisfied with it.
FXP is also based on cyanogenmod.
We still have 3 newer firmwares from Sony (4.0.2.A.0.58 , .61 , .62 that not have yet been released worldwide. And in 3 months official Android 4 is coming. Why bother with unofficial ones? What are the benefits ?
On older X10 mini was logical because Sony didn't upgrade past android 2.1.

and also sony ericssons stock rom is best looking rom in my opinion
Maybe you are right. Sounds all pretty logic. Is it possible to OC the CPU? Is it dangerous?
(I think I need to mod something. I 'm addicted to that. Even Symbian was crap, I could do a lot of modding with it. It was easy and it was fun. I 'm unsure if I would be able to sit on stock and wait for ICS)
What about languages and keyboard that has always been a big problem in symbian modding. How is that here?

yes you can overclock but only in custom rom. thats not dangerous if you know the limits . but right now people are experiencing some problems with custom kernels like screen doesn't responds after flashing a custom kernel. so you better skip it for now.
dont know about what do you meant by keyboard and languages but that's never been a problem to me.
