Depends. Which theme? Link?
There's a couple theme porters available here on xda, or google. Or you can look into doing it manually, then you can grab what you want and mix and match. It sometimes takes a few tries, but its fun if you like that sort of thing. All you have to do is unzip, swap out the pngs you want, zip and and sign, make an update.zip and flash, or use something like Ninjamorph to stuff it back. Automates the zip, sign, replace.

The Theme that I was interested in coverting over to CM6.2 was the andro green theme originally found in the Hero forum, the link is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783883
+1 for an answer to this, I'm in the same boat. Tried Theme Porter but I think I'm doing it wrong...
Basically what i ended up doing was just replacing all the appropriate images in the framework-res.apk

what program/app did you use to do this?
It be really easy to port that theme since its already on a same size mdpi device . Only thing that would be a little time consuming is if he made any changes to the xml's which isn't hard to do just takes a little time to sift through it and compile it to your framework based on the rom you are using.

I used dsixda's HTC Android Kitchen to decompile the ROM that I wanted to replace the images in the framework-res.apk. I definitely recommend learning how to use it because it will allow you to customize ROMs of your choice and allow u to add and remove apk's in the ROM. And then recompile it.

Not anywhere specifically, I learned by decompiling frameworks and reading tthrough the source xml's and asking and read up in theme threads and Appmanager. But if you have any question about something specific you can pm me

[Q] Best way to make a custom theme

Hello guys
So, my question is, what is the best method to create a custom theme for the Galaxy Ace. Is there an app on PC, or should you do it by editing the apks with something like WinRar (or BetterZip, since I use a Mac)
I previously created a theme, called Guru's Theme. I mainly cooked it using UOT and then changed other png files in the package to modify the notification drawer and the highlights (things that UOT can't or can't fully do (it can't modify the icons etc. in the notification bar))
Thank's for your answers
This is the theme btw: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212227
The best way is to post in the right section.. Then use the search function, then google.. Finally, there is a Q&A about theme by Seilent in theme section..
Here a start..

[ROMS]Multiboot x8 XGin 5.4

THIS NOT MY ROMS
WARNING:
This mod is experimental, and for advanced users only. Use it at your own risk
NOTE:
1. READ this thread first Multiboot
2. Use CWM
3. Now only enable Multiboot for rom XGin in external
4. Do it at ur own risk!!!!
To enable Multiboot mod Installation on XGin.
- Flash the CWM MULTIBOOThttp://www.multiupload.com/SBZQN40EH1 via CWM (only enable to custom rom, tested Xgin,FBv17)
Multiboot ROM Installation
The following scenario is provided as a proof of concept in order to install XGin as a boot from sdcard option
- Reboot into the new recovery and navigate to the new 'multiboot' menu. There you'll see the following options:
Select default boot option
Unset default boot option
Create boot option from zip
Delete existing boot option
Flash zip to boot option
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Select multiboot->Create boot option from zip and then pick the XGin flashable zip.(UpdateXG5.4.zip) Be patient, this step reserves the space and flashes the selected zip to the system.img in the sdcard
Select multiboot->Flash zip to boot option, pick your newly created boot option and then pick the XGin-Multiboot.zip.http://www.multiupload.com/X7W93K95IS This will flash the patch needed for XGin in order to make it run from sdcard. You can use this option in order to flash any zip you want to any of the boot options you have already created
Select multiboot->Select default boot option and pick your newly created boot option
Reboot (first boot will take some time depending on your sdcard speed).
To verify you have booted to your newly created boot option, check 'adb shell mount', it should say that /system /data and /cache is mounted from /loop* devices and not from mtd*
Uninstall
Practically, if you flash a ROM image it will revert CWM / chargemon to its original state. There is not problem in keeping this CWM / chargemon version though.
To revert booting from your phone's memory instead of the sdcard, navigate to multiboot->Unset default boot option
To remove installed boot options, navigate to multiboot->Delete existing boot option and pick you choice. Alternatively remove the boot option you want from /sdcard/clockworkmod/multiboot/
Disclaimer:
I can't be held responsible if this mod bricks your device / trashes your sdcard or makes it explode in your hands! Use it at your own risk!
Hope you enjoy it..
Best regards

it's not useless....u can make multiboot from XGin 6.1, with it u can boot XGin as main ROM and other GB ROM (GDX, GC, etc) as external ROM.
Why he post XGin 5.4? it's because the dev make multiboot option since XGin 5.4 was released, not just for XGin 5.4, it's also applicable to other XGin 5.4 version above, i know that cause i used XGin ROM since 5.1 was out.
once again please think and read before u post, and it's written for advance user only so no wonder u post like that

this roms compatible with stock kernel only.
This thread exists in dev section already and contains all files and info. Its nothing new, I remember using this mod last year. @op, check out the other thread as it might have info to help you improve your thread, I don't think kulios2000(other thread author) is around here anymore, it would be great for someone to follow on this mod.

Android themes need a good guide

Hi I want to learn all about making themes for Android roms please point me in the right direction to find easy learning guides using windows 7 to theme on jellybean and ICS and gingerbread thanks
do you want to make cm7/cm9/10- themes or flashable themes? if yes, you have to dwcompile the apks and mod them how you want... i dont know more at the moment, im also searching a good tutorial (at the end i will probably find it out by trying^^).
If you wanna make flashable zips for gingerbread roms use uot kitchen,.its easy and makes fun, legends say it can also make cm7 themes but i couldnt create one till now... for uot you only have to extract two files out of your rom, systemui out of /system/app and frameworkres out of /system/framework
maybe start over with that

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
that is the official thread with tutorial, its easy just type uot in google, you will find the site, click on "kitchen" and choose and customize your mods, then go to "upload files" (can do this first to save time) and choose "upload system apps", then upload em and click on "summary", if all mods are green click on "cook" and wait, you will get a code (you only need it if somethings not workin).
then you can download it after ~20-30 minutes from "pickup", you can also do that from your phone , then flash via cwm and enjoy
