Hi,
I am trying to activate the phone and the instructions are to use the ##337812# code. When I enter that on the dial pad the phone does not provide the entry screen, the phone just acts as though it is a phone number to be dialed. Any ideas?
thanks
Where are you getting those instructions from? If you call your carrier they should be able to activate it. The last time i had a phone activated they told me to dial ##000000send and change some stuff. That was on stock, it dont seem to work on energy rom. They still had to do something on there end.
Hey I had same problem with my tp and it was that if you use a non-stock rom the numbers are in a different position.
If you flash to a stock rom then program your phone it will work then you can reflash to whichever rom you prefer.

Hi there, I think I may have messed the phone up a little, such as this MMI error message which comes up so I can't use speeddial, or any other # code for that matters, also I can't disable call forwarding, and a few other things.
This must have been the result of rooting, etc. Is there an easy way to get my phone back to how it was (basically how it would be straight from the manufacturer, no root at all, just exactly how it was when I first bought it brand new?), bearing in mind I have also flashed it 3 times?
Cheers.
it might help if you said what you flashed it with? Details.
But if you are just wanting to flash back to stock, here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Read, and follow the instructions. They are very clear.

"Hi there, I first of all rooted my previously straight out of the box T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 using the xwkdd_insecure.tar (with Odin and SuperOneClick - I am a complete noob by the way, but this seemed to work after I followed a YouTube video), so that I could then unlock it to use 3 Mobile (in the UK) which I am on - I had bought this phone brand new and sealed from eBay (someone's unwanted upgrade). I then went on to using the free ChainFire sim unlock app, however I soon discovered that after all my phone can't have been locked in the first place as I just got a 00000000 code, never had to enter that and my sim worked having not previously tested it... Then I went on to flash it by using this file first - I9100XWKE7_StockKernel.tar - after seeing another YouTube video to purely debrand it but this only got rid of the yellow ! logo which appeared after rooting it, that is all.
So I then went on to using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1064894
in order to debrand it of all T-Mobile stuff, such as the T-Mobile logo and trademark tune which came on after switching the phone on, and get it like a standard sim free/factory unlocked phone if you know what I mean. I used this file as mentioned in the link - I9100XWKDD_I9100XXKDH_I9100XEUKD1_HOME.TAR
The latter part of the guide goes on to entering #272*<IMEI># or something like that, but I have tried that all of the other alternatives and all I get is "USS code running" and like 2 seconds later the error message
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code" appears. I basically can't enter anything in my phone dial with # or * or whatever. What is wrong?
I have also noticed that whenever I call someone a message saying "Conditional call forwarding active" appears, but then proceeds to make the call okay. I have tried to disable and fiddle around with the call forwarding settings, phoned my network provider, but again, error messages come up.
What exactly is wrong and how can I fix it - I am a bit of a noob with all this....? It is surely something to do with all that stuff I have mentioned. Please help me as I honestly don't know how to go about fixing this. What is the most straightforward thing to do which will stop these messages?
Last of all, I flashed using the following, my phone seemed to be auto-rooted as I never had to root again? I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100XEUKD1.tar
Thanks in advance."
Well that's the situiation, it sim-locks even though i have my phone with the sim from the carrier i bought it, i'd like to know if it is just me or other people with e10a are experiencing the same problem?:s
And also since this happened i noticed that in previous version of e10a firmware there was no sim-lock enforcement like this one, just hardware, even though i flashed firmwares from other countries and even e10i; and this new sim-lock it's not the firmware, because i installed cyanogenmod and it still gave me the sim-lock
Anyways what i'm trying to say is, and it might be a wild guess, but the sim-lock is enforced by kernel from 2.1.1.A.0.6 onwards, maybe not entierly but in a way that the kernel or one of the other files that are flashed (excep system, ruled it out by trial and error) has the region code or the carrier number or whatever it is that tells the device that the sim is not from the carrier it's lock down to, so with that maybe we could locate that code and modify it to our actual carrier number or maybe an unlocked mode, kind of like how the galaxy S unlock works
Same problem here. I have searched and still have not found a solution. And I am weary of paying $40 to unlock my cell phone to use it with its original carrier and sim card after paying full price for the phone and my carrier has no idea about how to get me an unlock code. Oh well, back to 2.1.
I have the same 'problem', but...
Have you tried pressing the 'dismiss'-button?
That does the trick for me.
If I select dismiss, I will be able to access all the features, but not the phone functions. I just reverted to 2.1 (2.0.A.0.504) and everything works the way it should.

it sometimes happens to me and the dismiss button give me all the features the phone can provide, and all that the sim can give me : phone call, web, sms, mms and everything else.
the phone works perfectly after dismiss button pressed here.
and please, here was not the right place to start this thread
For many people like me after i press the dismiss button i cannot get acces to any of the sim services i.e. calls, mms , sms, but i didn't mean this post to be so much of complaining, but more for trying to find ways to unlock the phone given the peculiarity of this "sim-lock" that must mean that in the newer firmware it is enforced through software, try to find a solution kind of like rotohammers sim unlock method, maybe some devs can share some light in the equivalent of the samsung galaxy s/tab /efs folder

ok ... I didn't know that ...
did you try turn on/off flight mod to see if this change anything?
yep i checked if flight mode was turned on, on and off doesn't get signal.
But anyways i found something interesting, in root explorer on the root of the phone memory there is a "vendor" file, that i can't copy and when i delete it and reboot my phone first time couldn't find my sim, a couple times later it found my sim and didn't throw the please enter network unlock thing but could not conect to the network, and later it showed again the network unlock screen, and the file was once again where i deleted it, and i dont remember seeing that "vendor" file in previous firmwares i.e: 2.0.A.0.504.
someone correct me if i'm wrong, anyways i upload a screenshot of the file
(I've posted this in the CM7 thread, although I'm not sure it's specific to that ROM so I shall ask here too)
Hello,
I just got a Galaxy Europa today and I have successfully installed ClockworkMod along with this CyanogenMod port, however I am attempting to unlock per the instructions in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...86&postcount=6
I've managed to retrieve the codes from the page however when I place a different SIM in the phone I'm not prompted for an unlock code and I am instead at the home screen with "Emergency calls only" and a fully functional phone (bar cellular usage).
Should I have unlocked the phone before I flashed CM7? If so should I flash back to the original Samsung ROM? According to the product page I received before flashing the phone my model is GT-I5500YKAH3G, which I cannot find an original rom for or can I flash any GT-I5500 ROM?
Thanks,
I found an original Samsung ROM that would work with my handset, however it seems that after inputting the unlock code my IMEI was set to 000000000000000, which is obviously rejected by every network. I poked around for a while and tried all of the fixes that were offered by none seemed to have worked.
Within the UK this device is only available on the Three network and I want to be able to use it on a different network without paying. I pretty much followed the guide exactly and as such could it mean my handset uses a different method for sim locking? If so should I get a refund instead of having it repaired.
Good for everyone!!
Sorry for my google's traductor english
I mention my case to see if with the help of all I can restore the phone.
After spending hours tinkering with the phone, turn it into a paperweight and reliving me realize I can not find a way to make the phone work properly.
The phone lights up, root access and the latest Cyanogen rom installed with the corresponding recovery.
The problem is that once you put on the sim that puts you never recognized. It asks me the pin and when I try to enter the dialpad to put a sequence to know, for example, if you have a lock on (step I made when the phone had the movistar rom) or simply to know the imei, it is trying to call and not open the menus.
I do not know if discovered and can serve as something that if I go into Settings - About Phone ANRO I have the version 2.3.5, 2.6.35.7 Kernel Version-perf-CL591990root @ dell126 # 1 and build number GINGERBREAD.XWKS3 . What baffles me and maybe come around the problem is that in the field puts Base Band Version Unknown. The same if I go into state gives me no information network, imei, network status, etc..
I tried also to urge a new modem, but not for that.
Has anyone had or has the same problem?
I appreciate your help in trying to help solve the problem.
If you need any additional information, be alert to tell you.
Greetings!
Hello.
I'd been trying to dial these codes but nothing happens.
##626# or ##626* or ##626
Also ##000000# (default) and wont do anything either.
I was on 4.0.4 but since these codes weren't working, I decided to go back to Stock.
I'm currently on 2.3.5 but these codes doesn't work on this version either.
Those codes are important, because I'm trying to activate it with a new number.
But the carrier says that if they don't get the menu from those codes, they can't.
Before I got back to Stock, I had my PRL for this carrier (Tricom) updated, got signal and everything.
Now I don't have signal but that's not a problem since I can put it again.
I would like to know how to make them work.
Thanks in advance.
