[Q] Fix P500 - Optimus One, P500, V General

My Optimus One has a black screen after a failed flash. I bought the phone in Hong Kong and cannot return it because I am back in the U.S. I will be returning to Hong Kong in a few months, so if anyone knows Broadway's (the electronics shop) warranty I would be grateful.
This is what happened leading up to the brick:
- Tried flashing Prime v2.
- After flash, didn't like the ROM, wanted to go back to AmberHome.
- I didn't have AmberHome on the SD card.
- I had made a backup of all my data when I was in AmberHome before I flashed Prime.
- I restored.
- Stuck on Android logo.
- Wiped all data, restored again.
- Stuck on LG logo.
- KDZ updater, phone in emergency mode, flash TYPE on EMERGENCY, flashed V10a (phone came with V10a)
- Mid flash, there was interruption.
- Tried flashing again, KDZ in CSEMERGENCY (phone still in EMERGENCY mode)
- Failed, repeated flash about 6 times.
- Kept failing.
- Tried turning off phone, then booting back up in Emergency mode again, hoping it would fix something.
- Phone won't turn on.

Isn't KDZ file corrupted?

I don't know. It just won't turn on. Any ideas?

Hi I have the same problem with my Optimus One.
After trying to back up original rom I can not get past the initial black screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What I don't get is why the phone stayed on in Emergency Mode and then didn't turn back on after trying to reboot back into Emergency Mode.

So, anyone got any answers, anything new?

Progress
I have made some progress.
After hours of research I am trying to fix through kdz updater.
My main problem is that only my Ubuntu box can connect to the net.
I have been trying to do it through virtual box but I just cannot get the software to see the phone.
Now I have copied the files to my old xp laptop. Surprisingly it still cannot find the phone.
I am going try to download drivers and manually install them on xp.
I will let you know how things are going. However I am bit flat out today so progress may be slow.
All the info on the forums has been very helpful, still if anyone can add something it would be great.

Well it was worth the effort. Lg Optimus One came back without losing anything.
All I had to do was re-root. Too easy with Z4root.
Anyway I had to download drivers elsewhere, load on to xp laptop disable lg modem driver in device manager, and just sit back and let it do it's thing.
At first I thought it failed as at the end an error message came up however it rebooted fine. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Were you stuck on LG logo or total black screen, no power, dead?

Just stuck on lg screen.
I am new to working with android but it must have had something to do with the boot sector.
Not sure what to do if no power.

[Q] P500h random shutdown and updates issues

Phone specs:
Model: LG Optimus One P500h
Carrier: Telus (Canada)
Android version: 2.2
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
Build number: FRF91
Software version: LG-P500h-V10g
Background:
I bought this phone (brand new) in late November 2010. Within a week or two the phone started randomly powering itself off (even when the battery has plenty of charge left and the phone is just sitting on my desk). I hadn't performed any modifications at all (no rooting, no custom ROMs). Hadn't even downloaded any apps by that point.
I have never seen it happen... I'll use the phone like normal, the screen saver blacks out the screen like normal, and then I go to use the phone some time later (a few minutes, an hour, etc.) and I find that the phone has powered off on its own. It happens when I have the phone sitting on my desk, so the power button is not being pressed accidentally. The frequency is intermittent: sometimes it will go for a few days with no shutdowns and then sometimes it will happen twice in one day.
At first I thought it was a battery problem (I thought maybe the battery was overheating and the phone was shutting off to cool down) so I went to Telus and they gave me a new battery. I tried that for a week but the problem persisted. So I took it back to the Telus outlet again and they sent it away to an LG-authorized service center for repair. Doing this cost me $30 for shipping + service charges because I didn't purchase an extended warranty and I was 1 week past the 30 day device exchange period.
When I received my phone back (the service bill said that a "software upgrade" had been performed) the problem still continues! The phone has been shutting down at random exactly the way it did before it was sent away for service.
I didn't want to send the phone away for service again so I tried updating the phone's software myself - hoping this would stop the random shutdowns. I downloaded & installed the proper USB drivers using the LG Mobile Support Tool (I needed to put the phone in USB debugging mode in order for the mobile support tool to detect the phone). Everything was going fine, the LG Update Software downloaded the ~100mb firmware update file (I think V10s) and proceeded with the install but somewhere near the beginning of the install the phone went into Emergency Mode and stayed stuck there. I left it alone for 30-45 minutes just in case this was part of the install but after the program stopped responding I figured this wasn't normal. So I unhooked everything and took the battery out hoping it would reset itself but every time I would power the phone on it would bring up the LG screen then proceed to a bright yellow screen with the text "Emergency Mode!!" displayed.
I tried a few methods to get the phone out of emergency mode (hard reset/factory reset, leaving the unit off for extended periods of time, trying the mobile support tool again, etc.) but nothing worked. The only way I was able to get the phone operational again was to download the original firmware (V10g), install the MS XML sp3 parser and run the KDZ software updater (with phonemode "EMERGENCY" selected).
So with the phone running like normal again I figured I would try the update again. Now when I connect the phone and run the LG Mobile Support Tool it says a new software update is available but then when I click on "Start Updating" it goes through it's initial checks then says that this model cannot be updated, and it won't even attempt to download the new firmware update.
I have found the V10s available here: http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500H/ATLSRB/V10s_00/V10S_00.kdz
But I am hesitant to try and install it with the KDZ updater in case something goes wrong.
My questions:
1. Is anyone aware of a fix for the random shutdown problem? I read through this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944847&page=2
but I didn't see any concrete solutions.
2. Do you think the V10s software version will fix the random shutdowns?
3. Can you think of anything that I'm doing wrong? Why won't the LG Updater let me install the update now?
Thanks
unlikely to upgrade to fix something, most likely factory marriage.
before upgrading try to make a hard reset
when the flash in KDZ try disabled LG Modem Driver
Maybe a problem of a bad SC-card. Try a different one (insert the new one and format it in the phone, then copy the content of the original one via usb)
Thanks for all of your suggestions.
I'll try installing with the LG Modem disabled.
If that doesn't work I will purchase a new sd card. I'm still using the stock one that was provided with the device so maybe that's causing the problems.

[Q] Need help fixing a possibly bricked Optimus V...

So I rooted my sister's optimus v about a month ago. Today she installed a battery mod app from applanet and as soon as she chose which battery mod she wanted she had to restart her phone for the changes to be applied, but when rebooting the phone it would only get stuck in reboot. So I tried to start it up in recovery and got the blue screen that says fastboot mode started. I looked that up online and found a fix to it but I need it to go into emergency mode to fix it that way and it will not go into emergency mode, any combination of keys only takes it to either the blue screen with the fastboot mode message or it just reboots and gets stuck. So now what do I do? I really need to find a way to fix her phone. Thanks in advance to anyone who tries to help.
try to turn on the phone & use LGMobile update tool. That should recognise the phone & install original lg fw

give a try to error guides over here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883314 it has done wonders for many flash in cs emergency mode from the flasher menu. Read detail guide in the link provided.
I am not sure if it works for optimus v but it does works for optimus 1. give it at try
I managed to finally get the phone into emergency mode. I had installed the LG mobile support tool and installed all the drivers and tried to go that route but it kept telling me I only had one of four drivers installed, even though I have installed several drivers. After all of that I had finally got it into emergency mode so I went back to trying KDZ. I'm supposed to select the rom where it asks for the KDZ file right? But when I go to browse for the rom file it doesn't show up in the folder I put it in. I've rooted 4 phones and have done so many other things with them and never bricked one, was always able to figure out everything I did and never had to ask any questions but I can't figure this out to save my life and it is driving me crazy. I do really appreciate you guys for the suggestions and thanks to your suggestions I have gotten this far.
Hey, I have the same problem. I rooted my phone then I installed that battery mod app on applanet. I installed it then when I had to restart my phone for it to apply it just got stuck and kept looping the reboot screen where it says "ANDROID". Did you get ur fixed yet?

I'm having the same issue right now, although at least you have managed to get it into emergency mode. How did you do it?
The other issue I'm seeing is that there is no .kdz for the Optimus V LGVM670. I found a .cab file that is supposed to be the newest update, but not even sure that will work with the the kdz manager.
It was my sister's phone and I had the same problem with kdz. Had the cab file so couldn't use it with kdz. My sister left her phone with me for a few days to try to fix it and when I couldn't she took it home and managed to fully brick it to where it would do nothing at all so she had to get a new phone. I got it into emergency mode by holding down the volume and it was either the back button or the home button I pushed at the same time, can't remember which. As I held those down I plugged in the USB cord that was connected to my laptop and it went right into emergency mode. Just make sure you disable that LG modem in the device manager on the computer before doing anything because my sister forgot to do that and that is how she fully bricked her phone. Good luck to you guys and if anyone figures out how to fix it I would be interested in knowing how you did it.

hmmmmm, I don't remember completely how I did it, but there was a very helpful guide floating around XDA. I bricked my Mom's Optimus one as well . I actually had to go to the LG support site, type in my Phone serial number and find a list of all the firmware available. From there I right clicked the page and got the page source. From there I got my firmware and I entered it in the KAZ or LG B2I Agent ? - Dont quite remember. Anyways, it ended up working out for me, but I accidentally flashed the German firmware, but in the end, everything was all good LOOL.

LG G3 Stuck at Firmware update 0%

I have been at this for about 4 days, and I've spent literally all day today trying to get this to work. I'm having an issue with my phone where the battery is draining really bad, to the point that I have less than 3 hours of screentime on a full charge. I've read about mods and different installments you can use to fix this, but you have to be rooted. I was rooted before via Stump, but since then have unrooted back to the default. I tried to simply use Stump again but it says it's patched. After some research I found that I should flash back to a previous android version ( 10b ) and root it from there using Purple Drake, THEN use TWRP to update back to 5.1.1 lollipop. I'm running into some serious trouble flashing my Andriod. And I think its because it won't go into download mode. I turn it off and hold the volume button up whilst I plug it into the computer, and it goes directly into "Firmware update " 0%. And it has a progress bar, with no progress change I have no idea why it's doing this or what's causing this. I've tried the KDZ method, and it stops during the progress saying " Connection to server failed, please try again in a moment ", which I read was fine and to wait for a Green word on my phone screen and some changes, however the phone does absolutely nothing and sits on that same screen. I've tried the Lg Flash Tool method too, and there was an error saying " Failed Previous Load ()". I'm honestly exhausted and if someone could figure this out you'd be a lifesaver. Speaking of which, I'll buy you a whole bag of the fricking things if you do.
Any help is soooo very appreciated.
Thank you
Howdy,
Are you using the flash method described here?
You don't say which bootstack you're on. If you're trying to flash back from 35b you need a different dll. (LGUP8974.zip)
What Windows OS are you using to run the LG Flash Tools from? (It seems like success / failure can be very OS / USB Device driver related.)
For my phone, I had to get the flash tool ready to go - have the phone in download mode - and then unplug / replug the USB cable briefly on the phone in order for the process to initiate.
If you have some screenshots, that might be helpful too...

Stuck in Download Mode, crashing during recovery

So I was having so many issues with my rooted phone crashing on jasmineRom 7.0 I thought maybe an OTA update had made it through and started downloading. No matter what I was doing the screen would turn blue and then restart. Sometimes it would crash blue again during reboot, and sometimes it would crash and then show the green demigod crash screen. So I researched flashing the .tot files to go back to stock. KDZ I didn't care for because it still showed the phone as modified software, and I wanted full stock so I could use the extended warranty with Verizon if need be. I eventually got the .tot method to work and everything was hunky dory, and showing stock. I upgraded all the way to marshmallow and decided I love every bit of it, but I couldn't figure out how to get my contacts and stuff off titanium backup without root. So I figured, "well roots not the problem if an OTA tried to download it just means I missed a setting or something". So I rooted again. No issues, I reinstalled JasmineRom 9.1 this time. Eventually it started crashing again, although this time I followed absolutely every guide I could find on disabling OTA. So I thought, "Great it's Jasmine" and I really wanted Marshmallow anyway so I followed xdabbeb's guide for getting the 35b bootstack on my phone, worked great no issues, and then I installed xdabbeb's firmware, combined with Edor's debloating zips. Everything was working great! I had no issues, I backed up just my apps, and some data, and reinstalled others and everything was great and working fine, and the phone was still official, no OTA's getting through. That was almost a full week ago. Yesterday I woke up and the phone wouldn't turn on. I took the battery out and put it back in and the phone came on, but then crashed with the blue screen again. So I thought great I guess I'll put it back to stock and use the warranty. By this time though I was having trouble getting it to load past the LG screen. I finally got it into TWRP and was able to wipe everything (except SD card) and then I stuck it in download mode and went to install the .tot files. Weeeeelllll, long story short, it crashed during download mode install with the LG Flash Tool. So now the phone gets stuck in download mode everytime I pull the battery and power it on. And crashes again every time I go to install anything. KDZ doesn't work, the flash tool says it can't communicate with the phone, because it crashes. And LG Flash Tool for the .tot files seems to crash everything it loads the modem, or consistently crashes on LAF:bin_user_mode. So I have no idea. At the moment it just looks like my phone is all funky defective, and Verizon may take it back and give me a new one so I'm going to try that. HOWEVER! If anyone has any ideas on what the issue is or what else can be done, I still want to hear it. Feel free to post
Also I've tried updated drivers for the computer, I've tried rolling back drivers, I've tried different KDZ files, I've tried the LGUP8974.dll fix where you flash that in flash tools and then flash the vs985 dll, which is what I had to do to get it back to stock the first time. I've tried everything I could find online except anything to do with fast boot and shorting the pins. Which I haven't tried because I can still access download mode it just seems to be stuck in download mode. Those methods from what I understand are for hard bricking, and for people who's phones don't turn on at all. Although if Verizon won't help I may try one of the laf recovery methods.
Thanks!

Another Hardbricked LG V10 please help :/

Hello guys and gals, so i just recieved my LG V10 H901 and tried to follow https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...step-step-guide-rooting-lg-v10-using-t3382631 this guide, but eventually i ended up with a brick after trying to flash the .tot file.
I keep getting
Boot Verification Fail
- cause: MISHMATCH_SIG_LEN
The TWRP recovery i had is now gone, and i can't access Bootloader. I can enter Download though. I read a lot of things around the problem, but i always stuck on various software versions or phone versions i can't really understand. Is there any way to get the phone back working? Before i try any method i just want to be sure i wont mess even worse (if that is even possible).
I tried UnbrickMe thread, but it says only for soft version:h90120j I have soft version H90120c (i haven't performed the update to MM) so i don't wanna try without being sure its going to work.
I m leaving for vacations in couple of days and i don't have a phone :/ please give me your lights.
Also LGUP wont see the phone, the same for ADB.
OK I Fixed it!
I was able to get out of this maelstrom of bootloops and to finaly flash the default ROM (you can find it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/general/stock-h90120j000712-kdz-t3436249 )
So what i did is to remove battery for 10 seconds
Put The battery in
Hold volume up button
Plugin the phone to my PC through USB
Then download mode will start
I opened LGUP and fortunately it was able to see my phone.
Then went to Upgrade and flashed the kdz file.
All went smoothly and the phone is back working.
