Dungeon Defenders - Streak 5 Themes and Apps

Has anyone tried this out yet? I went to get it this morning, but the download of extra files is fairly huge (600+ megs) and so didn't have time to download everything over wifi.
The only bad thing about that is 600 megs usually means more than 15 minutes of waiting, and just reading the reviews there are a lot of unhappy (and not to bright) folks that downloaded it and can't get refunds after finding out it doesn't work on their lower end phones.
But the Streak is specifically mentioned on the list of compatible phones. I just hope it works well, so we have something that once again, shows off the Dell Streak.
I wonder if there will be big differences between gameplay for official 2.2 folks and Steve mods?

I've played it on 3 different builds..
the 02 build is considerably smoother than the 315 dell build or 151..
but the o2 build seems to handle 3d stuff better than the others for some reason generally

I tried with official 315 with performance fix, the full video quality will be laggy if in the actual gameplay. Then I tried to turned down between 60-80% of video quality, the gameplay is acceptable, however the framerate is ofcourse not as good as normal 30frame/sec.

Bought this game the other day. Had my reservations due to the new 15 minute rule, but in the end it's only a couple of quid!
I'm running Steve's 1.5.1 with my Streak mildly O/C'ed to 1.113gHz and the game runs reasonably well. It's definitely not smooth, but it's far from unplayable. To be fair, the description does imply that it's optimised for Tegra 2 devices (something also eluded to in the intro videos), but it runs well enough for me, especially as it's on a device that's about 6 months old.

one word can express all my feeling: LAG

on my streak stock 2.2 runs well...no lag no problems!overclocking is just killing your phone(doesn't make it faster))

If DD runs smooth on the official build and lags on the official build+performance fix applied (my case), is there some kind of patch or something for the tweaked official build?

i have official 2.2 it works great for me i just use fast reboot pro before i start playing and it runs lag free except online but i also am on cincinnati bell with Fuse wifi so go figure lol. but ran great on road runner turbo 30mbs at girls house.

Restart loop on ROM TW & Q about game compatibility

Hi every!
a friend of mine gave me his X10 cuz he had many problems with it, mainly it was slow.
now the most important thing for him is games and speed (mainly touch responsiveness)
one of the games he wants to play is Assassin Creed, I saw a video on Youtube of someone playing this game and he uses TW ROM,
when i try to flash that ROM on my friend's device in boots and then few secs later restarts, over and over.
i cant figure why it happens, as im using the right BB. help!
besides this, i tried many other ROMs, but Assassin Creed worked on neither of them, i would think that this game is not meant to run on this device but i saw that Youtube video...
last thing, i loaded EWJET ROM, was amazing, everything was really fast and touch was really responsive compared to stock and other roms, but in quadrant it got only 1000 pt, while in TripNMIUI ROM it got 1500 pt, even tho it felt much slower and less responsive.
why is that?
Thanks!!!

I think just there, you solved your own problem.
Is Quadrant that important to your friend?
Does he want a fast phone for gaming
or a phone that scores high in Quandrant?
The thing with Quadrant is that even though is commonly used,
it's easily "cheatable" and bottom line is, it should be used as a reference
and not as an evaluation point for user experience.
Oh well, I thought that quadrant measures FPS which basically tells you how well games will run, but then, high FPS with ****ed up touch is pointless...
Thanks for your answer

It does measure FPS but it's only a part of the tests conducted,
so the results do not mean anything FPS-wise.
And FPS are kernel-related, indepedent of custom ROMs,
so you could try using Z's latest kernel that raises the FPS to about 48-50 max.
Thanks very much for your help, I am actually using zkernel which is really good...
so i guess no idea why the restart loop happens, or anything about games compatibility.
anyway, u made me wounder... you said that i can use zkernel...
is there a way to flash only kernel to use with specific ROM? or that isnt a good idea/possible at all.
Update:
At the end I loaded MIUI ROM 1.7.01 with zKernelbb67
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1152555
pretty good ROM, runs pretty good, with it i installed chainfire3D from the market, and now all the games are working pretty good, so everything sorted out.

Then again I mostly play Cut The Rope and Angry Birds (2D games)! LOL!

[Q] Does sgs2 lag ? be honest

i had a sgs but just broke it with water dmg 2 months ago was great aside from battery life and gps and of course that horrible lag
tried many mods darky , doc , miui ... etc with different lagfix , kernel ext3 . ext4 .. etc but still the device lags alot , the best was miui glitch minimum lag but still the lag is there
i used nexus one with 2.3 and even HD2 with 2.2 and compared them to my phone ... loading games i load them like 1.5~2 x faster than both but while in menu , exiting apps , switching between apps and opining apps both devices do these things much faster and they dont lag at all while mine lags in everything and the same issue with my other friend sgs while sgs2 shows that its faster than both phones
now i want to buy a new phone and thinking about the sgs2 but i dont want to fall in the same mistake and end up with a laggy phone
so what do u think of sgs2 , does it lag much ? or it doesnt lag at all? does it have any lag issue ?
i want you to tell me honestly and excuse my poor English
PS : I 'm not comparing them to how IOS is , i know how fast is iOS but i'm not looking to buy any IPHONE cus i want an android
The word 'Lag' is a relative one. If you are coming from those devices then you won't notice any, but iPhone users have some trouble getting in, iOS is silky smooth, can't say the exact same for Android.
Remember, I am not a fan of either.
Regards.
Every piece of hardware in the world will have software lag on it occassionaly, at least. My experience is that this blows all over my HD2 with every ROM I had on there, and I tried a LOT of different builds on that.
Seriously, if you've had a HD2 running Android faster than your SGS2 then there's either some bad software involved or you've got a faulty device. The difference is more than obvious.
what i meant with lag that the phone get stuck and wont accept commands
i have been android user the for more than a year now , never bought any iphone
but compairing my sgs to hd2 and nexus 1 its the laggiest no mater what u do with it
nexus 1 and hd 2 were very smooth and dont lag when installing more than one up
my sgs lags while downloading a single up and nearly freeze while installing it , cant even brows contact smoothly while installing an app unlike hd2 and nexus 1

So you're actually saying that a HD2 running Android is faster than the SGS, but not faster than the SGS2?
Edit: Sorry, I just reread your first post. I see what you're saying now. So basically, you've not got the SGS2, but you've had the SGS and wonder if it's that much better? In that case, I'm out, since I've never even played with the original SGS. All I can say is the the SGS2 is faster and smoother than anything I ever had running on my HD2, and I generally stuck to Nexus builds because I prefer the original stock Android experience.
Coming from an iPhone, I would say the S2 is on par as far as homescreen "lag" goes. As for not accepting commands, the only time I have had this happen is if I lock the phone using setCPU . Other than that, the phone is FAST. I don't notice any lag at all, and most apps launch just about instantly.

i dont have a sgs2 and thats why i'm asking about it before i buy it
and i did compare my sgs1 2.3 darky 10 ext4 wiped to my friends hd2 2.2 mine lags in menu and while installing but its faster when it come to loading games by 1.5~2x times
his never lags while doing anything just smooth
There are small micro jitters here and there with andriod OS, not a smooth as iOS.
Barely any lag in normal use in things like web surfing and using the interface.
But I get extreme lag using BBC Iplayer(Not the app) in HD or any other video source that is in HD excluding youtube. The video lags and the sound it out of sync. Pretty much unwatchable.
I know that these videos aren't optimised for use on a mobile but it would have been nice if they didn't lag.
Apart from that, all other videos are fine.
Silky smooth here, underclocked to 1000GHZ. Had a sgs and it drove me maaaaaaaad!

Why does everyone think ios is extreme fast?
Even my sgs loads apps quiker than my iphone 4.
It does maybe sometimes not as fluid but always fast.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
I agree faster loading time but unfortunatly not fluid as ios.
I own a Sgs, Sgs2, desire, desire hd, nexus s and the smoother ar the desire hd but it is heavy as a rock and not resistant as the sgs2
No lag on mine ever since updated.to XXKG6. No problem on either Ninphetamine or lulz kernel.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
On mine there is no lag with the stock ROM. Once I installed Go Launcher, the swiping of the homescreen while was not laggy did have a lower framerate than the stock Touchwiz 4 launcher which was silky smooth.
Never had ANY lag at all since the SGS2 released. It really depends on the usage. But mine, no lag.
No lags on mine. Unrooted and stock rom 2.3.3.
Ah, well... actually to be honest yes, now that I think about it... sometimes I experience a very annoying lag of about 1 second at each and every character I type in the standard text box of forums, while posting. Each character appears about 1 second after having tapped it on the virtual keyboard.
Not sure if it happens with all the browsers, but it's very annoying indeed.
In addition, under the same circumstances when tapping on the text for editing, the "arrow" cursor appears shifted down of about 2-3 rows, with respect to where it actually is in the text.
Not sure if anybody has found a solution for this.
All of these newer phones, EVO 3d, sensation, sgs2 etc. will hardly ever have lag, in my case I have mine underclocked and still no lag, and never had lag.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
The question really boils down to does it lag, Yes or No.
There are animation lags from time to time on the S2, thats just how andriod works. Even if you stuff in a quadcore with 3Ghz per core nothings gonna change due to how the software works, probably even if the memory speed is increased 10 folds there will be lags.
No and yes nothings perfect. Ive experienced it before root. Why are you thinking of swtching to, a diffrent OS?

[Q] ROMs for Performance?

I've just picked up a gTab on eBay for quite a nice price, but it turns out that there are way more ROMs and developers for this gadget than I'd originally realized. I bought it with price-to-performance ratio in mind, my main goals being PDF reading on the go, Skype calls, light browsing, and maybe some emulation (can't get enough N64!). I bought the gTab knowing that there would be trade-offs, but it seems like some of the current ROMs have most things sorted out (even if the ROMs themselves are based on the outdated Froyo). My problem is that there are just so many ROMs, and it doesn't seem like there's a general consensus as to which one's "best" for performance.
So can anyone recommend a ROM based on what I'm looking for? I've read through the threads for most of the popular ones, including the Clemsyn + Calkulin release, Clemsyn + Beasty, Mountain Laurel, FrankenTAB, etc. etc. So far I haven't even been able to find the major differences between C/C and C/B, or what the new features of the newer ROMs are--only that they support a number of fixes for previous problems (and it seems like all of them support all of the fixes?).
Does any one ROM support "everything"? A snappy UI, low rate of app crashes, good hardware acceleration, proper battery life, Skype video calls, etc.? Or is it all a matter of trade-offs and opinions?
Edit: I didn't start this thread in the QA section because most of those threads looked more technical in nature. I apologize if this is in the wrong section.
I have tried most all of them that you mention and I like Beastly-Clemsyn the best, especially for what you are looking for. It is very fast and stable, can overclock but doesn't really even need it. Skype works, flash, everything except USB mouse, but that is caused by the Netflix fix and can be reverted if you would rather have a mouse than Netflix. Some games are a little touchy but they always are on the gtab. I have Muppen64 and I overclock when playing N64 games for better performance but it works well and works with my Wiimote over bluetooth. Flash, video and streaming work well and so on.
The older Roms can often be "updated". For example, I have one tablet with Beastly, I updated the Market and other Gapps that could be, put VTL launcher on and customize lock screen, did some light custom theme work and tweaking, installed Clemsyn's kernel and it's like a brand new rom.
I haven't tried Frankentab yet but I have it downloaded just haven't had a chance. I think it still has a couple bugs to work out but it looks very interesting. It is newer and actively maintained. Lots going on in the Gtab world lately, it has been great. I recommend you try a couple or a few and see what you like! My favorites are:
Froyo - Beastly-Clemsyn - Best all around ROM in my opinion
Gingerbread - Cyanogenmod 7
Honeycomb - Flashback (great looking but a few things don't work right)
ICS - to be continued ...!

I'm definitely going to have to experiment with a few different releases. What makes you pick Beastly-Clemsyn over the Calkulin-Clemsin? And do you know if the Beastly-Clemsyn setup has the same .gif image bug as the C+C setup? Also, what kind of frame rates are you getting out of N64 games?
Shame about the mouse, but I guess I can live with that. Are there no configurations that have everything working including the mouse and netflix?
FrankenTAB is the one for me after trying many, many of them. Smooth, fast and everything works well. Zero crashes in the months I have ran it.

Okay I did some testing for you. I did not visit every web page but all the .gif image sites I went to rendered all the animated images just fine. I used DolphinHD and stock browsers to test (the ones that had problems with .gifs on C&C). Some basic Muppen64 testing:
Mario Kart 64 - OC=1336 - average 29 fps, 24-32 fps, very little/no stutter, playable
007 - OC=1336 - average 29 fps, 16-34 fps, very little/no stutter, playable
Super Smash Bros. - OC=1336 - average 34 fps, 25-50 fps, very little/no stutter, playable
Mario Kart 64 - No OC - average 24 fps, 18-28 fps, stutter and some lag, playable (barely)
007 - No OC - average 18 fps, 11-24 fps, lag and stutter, not very playable
Super Smash Bros. - No OC - average 24 fps, 14-47 fps, little lag/stutter, playable (not as smooth)
As you can see overclocking makes a big difference on emulators like Muppen64. I just crank it up to 1336 with SetCPU while using it and turn it back down when I am done (my gtab does not like to be overclocked!).
I chose Beastly over Caulkin for the following reasons: the .gif bug not reported in Beastly (not really a big deal), no market fix is required, Skype and Netflix both work without additional fixing, and I have never had a random crash, force close errors or SOD (until this morning anyway, I left it overclocked after testing and it was not happy when I tried to wake it back up. Oops!)
As far as I know there is no rom that is 100% working rom, including the stock rom. I believe you choose either working usb mouse and gsensor, or you can have Skype and Netflix, but the fix for one breaks the other. I don't care to use a usb mouse, but I do use a usb keyboard and it works fine. Like I said though you should definitely try a couple and see what works best for you. The difference between C&C and Beastly is they are ports of different roms built for other tablets. Read through the threads to find the fine details. I know it's a lot to read but it's better to read first and have fewer surprises later.
Thanks for the testing, DaggerDave. I'll have to try both FrankenTAB and C+B and see which one ends up working the best. Are there higher OCs than 1300 MHz?
It looks like the ICS rom that teamDRH is working on will be the undisputed champion by the time it's out of Beta, so I'm very excited for that.

Yes depending on the kernel that is used in the rom, or installed by you, you can OC up to 1600. Clemsyn just released recently new kernels here and at another tablet forum.

Me too. So far I have resisted the temptation to try it out (just like FrankenTab), only because I haven't had the time yet. Looks like it will be great once some of the bugs are worked out and more apps are fixed to work with ICS.

Looks like ICS should blow Froyo roms out of the water once the kinks are worked out.
I do have one last question for you: If I have to sacrifice USB mouse for Netflix/Skype, do I also sacrifice bluetooth mouse/keyboard support?
Yea with working hardware acceleration, and eventually overclocking and more time to develop I can definitely see ICS becoming better than the Froyo roms. I love the Honeycomb UI but it was never fully developed, ICS will have the best of both.
I believe the Skype/Netflix fix effects the mouse orientation (moving mouse up goes right, right goes down, down goes left, etc). Probably regardless of weather the mouse is usb or bluetooth. Usb and bluetooth keyboards should work as long as the bluetooth version is supported by the Gtab. Some bluetooth keyboards have been reported not to work like the ones designed for the Asus Transformer I don't think they will work below Android 3.? just check before you buy one.

How'd you update your google apps on the Beasty 2.2 rom? This oudated version of Calendar is driving me nuts.
I don't use Calendar, but others like the market, maps and search I had to either download them and install with ES File Explorer, or uninstall them and reinstall (either from the market or side loading). Some versions will not work, so you have to find ones that do. The newest Market 3.4.4 (?) is working, newest Gmail works but the latest Voice Search and Maps do not. You will have to find the older versions (Maps < v6 works) and test them till you find what works. Have you tried going to the apps (Calendar for example) in the market to try to update them? I think I updated Gmail that way, it didn't show an update in 'My Apps' but it did when I searched for it.
Search for "axleration .apk downloads" for a list of 5 good sites that offer free .apks. Or a google search for a specific .apk will give you more results. Or if you are desperate, I have downloaded newer roms before and extracted the .apks from them (stick to same android version).
Everyone needs to start demanding camera drivers, the rest has been worked out.

Grand Theft Auto III For Lg Optimus one?

Hey All
I recently downloaded Gta III From the market But there is significant Lag
(I am using Cm7 With Full Oc)
But I have seen videos on youtube Of people playing Gta III on their Optimus one.
I Have heard Of a Gta version where it doesn't lag But the graphics are bad
Could i PLEASE have a download link for Gta III one that dosnt Lag (i dont care if the graphics are Bad)
GTAIII Optimization
There's two ways I can think of making it run smoother.
1. Chainfire3D. It's a root app, found in the market, whose sole purpose is to enable games on devices that wouldn't normally be able to play them. You have to buy it to unlock everything, but I've been able to use the free version on my Moto Droid to play GTAIII better.
2. Delete the audio folder. Once you have everything downloaded, manually delete the audio folder. If the phone isn't constantly trying to play music or SFX, it will run a bit quicker.
The specific apk isn't going to matter, unless rockstar made huge optimizations to code in recent versions, but as you've DLed from the market, that shouldn't matter, no? Overall, I'd recommend against trying to run it. The optimus isn't really made to handle 3D games in general, much less GTAIII. Good luck, though.

Maybe a little bit. But nothing will be damaged. Don`t worry, the only thing you can have, is reboot.

or here direct link: http://andropediaapps.blogspot.com/2012/01/gta-iii-gta3-apk-full-sd-data-finally.html
Go there, download game that is around 70-90MB, and apk, and do the same what you did with original!
Graphics are pretty bad in this one, and there is often a bug where you will after 20m in front of yourself see only some pink wall, and ofc no sound...
But runs better, still lagged pretty much on mik_os 6.5.7 but now will test it in PerfectPeso2.2 and see how it is. With full game, on PerfectPeso, it didn't lagged so much like on the rest of the ROMs so I expect this one to run smootly now...
And yeah, just overclock it until kernel starts to reboot, i got mine stable on 825Mhz, on 844 it runs about 1 hour, and on 864 it got nearly 10min in mik_os 6.5.7, but now on PerfectPeso there is no option to go beyond 806mhz...:/ But still frikin fast!
UPDATE: yeah on PerfectPeso2.2 fresh installed no tweaks ripped version will run almost lagless, 15-25fps, but totaly playable! And no pink wall bug anymore!!!
Tried this game a while back and the result was the same... The lag made the game unplayable..
Tested it on CM7. PerfectPeso2.2 sound's good from what you say, but will not change the rom just for a game .

Don't give us this bull****... Yes it may play without problem but it's not fully smooth. Runs like a 24 fps movie. Hell the loading times are abysmal. Demandarin I respect you for all the work you've done for us and how positive you've been but don't go as far as lying.... I should be able to run this game on my supposed top of the line tablet with a quad core processor without modifying anything at all. Yet I can't. Game experiences on this tablet have been horrible even with Tegra 3 optimized games.
Sorry if I'm coming out strong but I'm damned tired of this. I have to rma my tablet again just to be able to ota update. Really? Really? Can't even unlock for goodness sakes...

thanks deadlocked, i thought i was going crazy here and ive been reading the forums of other users complaining. without tweaking anything llike going into development settings max 1 process kill all processes is a temp fix but it doesnt work that well, i shouldnt have to do all that, not sure why a cheap chinese tablet can do this yet an expensive tablet with tegra 3 cant get it right?
i respect the recognized developer above but i thought he was winding me up there as a developer of all people should know there are issues
question now is what can be done, why is this issue even here, how do we resolve this

He isn't a dev.... & well.. I'll end there.
As for Tegra 3 ULP Geforce GPU (with 8 spectacular cores)... it isn't a powerhouse GPU. It lacks raw power compared to Mali 400 (and basically all other GPUs)... however, it does have those "oozing" special effects that Nvidia patented.
Also, with single I/O memory controller... with the lack of bandwidth being channeled through during GRAPHIC intensive games... it can have some "FPS" issues.

What's to lie about? Nova3 and all other games do play fine on my Nexus 7. The framerate not slow either. Like I said, it plays great on my NEXUS 7. now for Prime, Nova3 seems to like to crash on mines. So as of now, I honestly don't know how it plays on my prime. But I do have it for my Nexus 7. Even with full effects, nexus 7 handles it with ease. Prime has software shortcomings that is likely what you are experiencing. Plus you have to REMEMBER THIS, EVERYONE PRIME BEHAVES DIFFERENTLY. SO IF THE NEXT MAN SAYS THE GAME WORKS FINE ON HIS PRIME, THEN YOU HAVE TO TAKE HIS WORD FOR IT. IF YOU DONT, PEOPLE WONT BELIEVE YOU EITHER. JUST LIKE NOT EVERYONE PRIME BEHAVES THE SAME AFTER AN UPDATE.
PEOPLE NEED TO STOP ASSUMING THAT JUST BECAUSE YOUR DEVICE SEEMS to Run the game slower, everyone else's must also. PEOPLE ASSUME TO DAMN MUCH UP HERE. These devices are not all the same, unfortunately.
I have to agee with demandarim. I have a prime with 0 wifi issues, unlike most.. also I have mine rooted and clocked to 1.6ghz, also with no issues at all.. Since alot of people have issues with those I agree that no two prime are 100% equil
And if it runs well on other Tegra3 devices like the Nexus 7 .. Then it might be a issues with the Asus software.
I know were not even on a 3.x.x kernel yet.. we have 2.6.39.4.. even that might be an issue..
There is a lot of reasons youre's might be slow.. You can wait for Asus to release new firmware that might resolve you're issues, or you can load a custom rom, that is useing different firmware for you're hardware that is more based around performance.
Everyone here is willing to take there Desktop PC, load the latest drivers for there screencard or what ever, imagen you had to wait for a new release to update the driver? Like complaining Ubuntu 10.2 is craps compared to Ubuntu 11.1cause it doesn't run well on you're Alienware Desktop.. No.. you update the it... cause it fixes it! So if you would update you're out of the box Desktop for 25 more FPS, then THATS WHY WE BOUGHT ANDROID AND NOT APPEL... cause with a little tweaking its better..
appel is like flying business class.. its just fine.. Android/linux is like flying first class, you just get the bolts and spanner on you way in to fasten your seat.. so with a little tweak is better, or you fail to tighten the bolts, and then you complain on XDA forums
I think you should also remember that your chinese tablet has an 800x480 screen, not 1280x800. That's a HUGE different in pixel count, so a slower/cheaper SOC can easily push 30+ frames a second to that screen.
Its just like all other Gameloft games, they are not optimized at all to run with QuadCores or Tegra3 devices. Order and Chaos has the same issues, it doesn't have mind blowing effects and still runs at 24ish fps. Hell even Asphalt 6 doesn't feel like running at 60 fps. While other games with far, far better graphics run smooth like butter even when connected to the TV.

latest Window N101 it also has a chinese name yuanduo n101 or something like that, for 200 bones its a good deal, capacitive multi touch 10 point ips screen, ics 4.0.4. rooted etc. hd screen and plays 720p files smoothly, not tested 1080p it has a dual core rockchip 3066 and quad core mali 400 gpu tablet itself is really nice, i thought the asus would have have performed better than the cheap chinese one, but obviously not in this case, its probably gameloft being lazy and not optimizing for tegra as all tegra games run really smooth even in high activity scenes, large environments, etc.
still peed off thogh
just figured i'd chime in again (because of the controversy,lol)...
i was running androwook 2.1 with motley's lite kernel, o'ced to 1.8
the last time i checked out NOVA3(actually the only time i played it).
i went through a couple of levels and didn't have any issues on my Prime.
lately, i have been running team EOS Jelly Bean, and benchmarks have been down,
even from stock ROM, so i haven't tried to run it lately.
i have been playing Riptide GP tho, and it is still smokin fast!
Since upgrading to JB and updating Dead Trigger, I have only noticed one hiccup right when loading a level, and then no more lag through the rest of the level. Before the update and on ICS the game lagged like crazy for the first 30 seconds then finally cleared up. I'm not sure which one fixed it, but perhaps you should check out the JB rom as well...

1. Linux Kernel 3.1.1 vs 2.6.39.4 hardly matters.....
Perhaps you didn't know but Linux Kernel 3+ is really 2.6.40 but Linus Torvald simply renamed it to Linux Kernel 3.0...
The changes between the two kernel is minimal (of course, higher is always better in theory.. but here... it is extremely minimal)
If people want to discuss kernel & drivers..... and need someone to blame for multiple issues we have currently... look towards Nvidia FIRST & Asus 2nd (Asus is customer of Nvidia... and they are binded to their work.. sadly)
2. Tegra 3 SoC... no matter how much.. umm.. someone tells you... IS NOT A POWER SoC. It focuses mainly on battery performance (thus the 4+1 technology)... although.. sadly, it doesn't really perform that well in this category either if you look at smartphone sector (S4 HTC One X > Tegra 3 HTC One X).
Anyways, especially with single I/O memory controller, poor kernel/driver integration by Nvidia & Asus (this is assumption), and not very powerful GPU (yes, in terms of raw power... Tegra 3 is crap compared to other GPUs)..... IT CAN HAVE ISSUES during Graphic Intensive Games. IT CAN... as in... if we take Prime for example.... it behaves very radically from device to device.... thus... some will be unfortunate & some very fortunate.
3. I doubt Google wants Android to be portrayed as "tweaker" device. Google's trying their hardest to appeal to the mass public with Nexus 7..... Btw, all the updates & etc you speak of with Desktop.... going from Ubuntu 10.2 to Ubuntu 11.1 are OFFICIAL support. Custom ROMs are not....

This. I couldnt agree more. I was looking for NOVA 3 lag fixes on my Nexus 7 and came across similar posts stating how smooth the game is. It's not smooth. The frame rate is ****. Seems like all of Gamelofts recent titles, lag to hell on Tegra 3. (Amazing Spiderman, Modern Combat 3, Nova 3). Look at videos of Nova 3 running on the Galaxy S3. Now that is smooth.

Yup they all lag on my N7 and Prime, although there is some hope: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1780587 hopefully its true they are working on optimizations for the Tegra 3 platform.
that is bs

Dude that is b.s.No offence.you can't install chainfire3D,hence no full effects.TEGRA 3 DOES NOT GET FULL EFFECTS ON NOVA 3.You don't see fire and smoke on the building at the right side in the first level, before you jump off the building you crashed into.Secondly it does lag very badly especially in multiplayer,I am on 620mhz GPU overclock with 1.6ghz CPU with smoothrom 4.1 android 4.1.2
I don't know about Nova 3, but I have to agree that Wild Blood for example is not smooth at all on my Prime.
Backstab on the other hand seems much smoother.
I'll try Nova 3 and let you know. ( Using Latest Energy Rom).
