You're right...my pole got broken last year & I guess it slipped my mind!!!
Also: a nod to Tenzo, too (I knew I would forget someone). Thanks for all the stuff you do in the foreground & background, to make everyone's Eris better!
I was gonna do that post in a "12 days" theme, but I'm not that creative...

Does that count as an airing of your grievance? I didn't break my pole although one of my balls was defective but once I had it removed it's all good.

Encourage the DCD magic

Hey all...
Well, now that the new official Sprint ROM is out, it looks like DCD needs to do a little magic to incorporate some drivers from the official ROM into his (currently 2.3.2) kitchen to fix the audio issues encountered when flashing his ROM over the new official ROM.
So, I'm officially calling out all of the truly loyal XDA members to put your money where your mouth is and give him a little incentive.
DONATE TO DCD
I tossed $20.00 into the kitty to get things started. Let's get that kitchen rockin"!
im sure he's excited to do it but like most of us he's a working man too
he said himself earlier that he has work till 5pm cst...so maybe sometime after then we'll see it..
anyways DCD you are the man.
thanks for all your hardwork!
lol...i think its funny that we know DCDs work schedule tho..

ya DCD rocks... but if we pressure him too much and he loses his job he's REALLY going to need those donations.

LOL. I donated last week when he gave the 1.7 rom cuz that's what I really wanted. If my food stamps come in this week, maybe I can go exchange them for real money at the local grocery store so I can donate.
No pressure, no pressure at all... not trying to rush things...
Just showing some appreciation. I'm in the software/application world myself and while all the "YOU ROCK"'s are great, I'd like to see DCD get some real appreciation for his hard work.
I propose we purchase him a bottle of Macallan 21 year-old fine oak aged Scotch (assuming DCD is of drinking age).
donations are awesome, and very much appreciated but you do not have to donate, i will post a 3.35 based kitchen maybe around 6-7pm
edit: and i hope im over 21, cause i drink regularly
awesome.
good time to work on my sdconfig i guess

wow. both your intent to come up with a new kitchen so quickly, and your attitude that people don't have to donate have convinced me that i'd better donate

See, that's the whole point. The fancy named stuff is much easier to take neat.
"The addition of mixers such as ginger ale, soda and even coca cola, is a popular trend, however it does beg the question - why drink whisky at all if you need to mask the taste?"
Talking about this sounds great in theory, but if you click that donate link then he can go buy it for himself
"Virtual alcohol" doesn't have the same effect...
and all the fancy names are lost on me... give me a good European dark beer at 45 degrees and I'm all set.

5 cst? Hmmmm...... either you really really wanna mess with this ROM or.... you really really love the people of XDA... either way...good luck...look foward to it....and thank you
blah.... ridin this desk is boring the hell out of me today... time for some fresh air followed by some poluted cigarette air

Argh, this forum was/is epic. I miss you guys.

I switched to the Incredible a few weeks ago, and I already miss all the eris devs and users. The eris was released as an underpowered, crippled device, and the amazing devs here at xda changed that. I would have been really unhappy with my phone if I hadn't been able to flash this and that every other day.
The Incredible is nice, and I finally have MIUI, but I can't help but miss conap, decad3nce (I think I put the 3 in the right place), kaos, and tazz. Thanks to all of you for keeping me sane for the year or so I had my eris.
I, for one, miss seeing your avatar's haircut!
That'll teach you to get a better phone!!!! Muhahahhahaha!
I miss your avatar, too. Your personality, on the other hand... Just messing with you, sorry!
I just saw Jcase post up a thread about rooting the Thunderbolt recently so I'm assuming theres some action about to start going on over there. As for me I'm sticking to my D1, heres hoping Verizon releases a Nexus phone one day.

[Q] Stock TouchWiz theme on top of Trigger 3.0.0?

Would anyone mind checking this out if you have time? Back on Trigger! Just need some help. Thanks so much. http://bit.ly/gA2hJr
You're a champ for writing all that out on your phone. I commend you.
Have a theme for your hard work!
(flash it with CWM)
Today really IS my birthday and I was happy enough with your KICK ASS ROM (3.0.0). You are by far the kindest person I've dealt with on any forum (much love to all of EDT, Eugene, Team Whiskey & Devs4Android, though)! Thank you SO much. Trust me, I love Trigger, especially because of the blues. Honestly the ONLY thing that really bugs me are the boxy / square buttons & pop-up windows. I like my ROM's as blue & rounded (corners) on EVERYTHING. Thanks again. You made my day. I don’t have a lot, but when I get home (if I still know where I am) I will throw you a few bones, sir. And if I party too hearty in Hollywood tonight, I'll hit you up with a few "birgers" after the party wears off tomorrow. YOU ARE AWESOME. Writing everything I wrote was worth every second!

To all the devs here on XDA

I want to publicly thank all of you here on XDA (and some I know are on sdx as well) for your contribution to the rest of us users who lack the talent and downright genius to do what you do. Although some of us are sharp, and know a little bit, you are the 1% of us who have the ability take that idea and design and morph it into a theme or self operating system.
Thank you again. And thank you for being teachers as well! I have learned more in the past 6 months about computers and electronics and Linux than I have in my life being around them.

+one million. the people here are so helpful. i try to be as helpful as i can, but nobody can compare to the people who spend hours on end on roms and mods.
Yes thanks to all the devs and themers!
Cant belive how much dev support we have.
I knew I picked the right phone.
EVO 3D!!
It's good to see threads like this in the morning instead of *****ing, complaining, or topics not related to the Evo 3D.
Thanks man. I take that to the heart...

Agreed×10.
I'm pretty much in awe over how much you can learn here in such a short period of time. The raw knowledge that is available here collectively is absolutely amazing.

Thanks cobra. I do it for the love of the game!(that's why I got rid of my donate button) When toast was a little whipper snapper and I was teaching him about thingamabobs, I remember him saying "Chef, thanks! I'm going to make a dope ass build of cm7 for the evo 3d". Off to the dev section toast! And ignore the ahole trolls!
I also want to thank the devs (whether or not most of them were under my wing at one point or another). You ALL make my phone a ton of fun. I've learned a ton of cool stuff from the devs and users here at xda.
Back to helping toast get the 3d wiring in the thingamagig.

I rarely post but I just wanted to agree with the subject of this thread and the posts in it so far. I've learned so much about Android, adb, etc. since I got my first Evo a little over a year ago. Being able to mod and flash our phones is something I'm sure a lot of us, I know I do, take for granted at times, but is something that wouldn't be available to most without the great Devs here. So I just wanted to say Thanks for making my phones better each and every day.

Well said. And ditto with learning so much since my og Evo. The nook color taught me a few tricks also.
Rootyourdroid.net. My nephews blog.
Your post is excellent. Behind the scenes of any mod, rom and theme is began with a idea to make it different and or better. And the developers are volunteers that help all of us out. They contribute knowledge that when applied let's us get s-off, root, better roms, better performing devices. Countless of hours go to any one single item they put out..and in some instances...many man years, all mostly for free. Time spent away from friends, family job, and other obligation in lives. Some are good, some are bad but all deserve a big THANK YOU.
Good post. It brightens up the forums a little bit.
good post man.. it is important that we continue to show love to the community, this place has turned into such crapfest recently.. and its good to see people posting positive material; devs, chefs and themers need to know that we appreciate their work so that they will continue to press on.. its hard to find the passion to make something when everywhere you turn is some douchebag talking crap about what he doesnt even know..
and many thanks to all of the people who have helped me in my time here, to help me accomplish the things that i can do today.. i wouldnt have thought i would be able to do half of the things that i can do now.. back in my heroC days learning about kernels from decad3nce and s0be, rom building from aosp, and themeing from thoughtlesskyle.. and many many others.. thanks a ton, and heres to a better community.. *cheers*

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Hey Rezounders,
So my screen has been cracked badly for a few months. I finally took it to a repair shop and they basically botched the install and screwed up the phone, so they offered me a swap for a Dinc 4G.
So, I'm on to a new device, which I'm actually liking a lot (I missed the OG Dinc form factor and am digging having a smaller phone again), but I'm going to REALLY miss the modding community here! Things have come a long way from the angsty days of early 2012.
Super big thanks to Neo, Chad, Snuzzo, shrike, ihwo, flyhalf, TheBroken, and all the other amazing devs who had turned this device that was almost written off by many into an awesome thriving AOSP ecosystem with so many ROMs to choose from! :good::good::good:
