I'd like to say a royal thank you to all lthe dev's busting to make the little Eris look like a cramp. Yet, sadly, I have upgraded to a HTC TB, and will miss you all ever so dearly. All the help you give, the support, and above all, time you spent is well worth it, as who'd of ever thought the Eris would see GB?
I will miss you all, and hope to see you all again one day, as my Eris is still with me. Maybe one day, the little guy will find a new place a new home and you all will make it shine for the new owner.
Thank you, HTC Eris Dev's for all your hardwork and dedication, and if I could give you all a pat on the back, know I would.
Look into TheMP3Rom and turn it into an MP3 player with wifi. That is what I plan to do when I get a new phone for my wife and I.
The Devs ROCK!
Yes the Eris has some awesome devs. The best in the whole world if you ask me. But in the end I guess the Droid Eris will eventually have to fade quietly into the night. It is just another phone after all.

Indeed, I will miss everyone, You all made my Eris pro, made it faster smoother and just a great phone. Now my TB will take its place, tho I'll always have this Eris... not sure what to do with it, but it'll be a memory of the good times.
Where is this mp3 rom you speak of? Sounds cool.

In the Eris Dev section http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979808
I got my TB on Saturday so I'm kinda moving on as well.
Yesterday though, I was talking to my wife and telling her that I was probably just going to sell my Eris and she quickly said "NO", I'll take it......from someone who has allways hated my phone because "you spend so much time on that dam thing!" LOL, she cool though, she's the one that bought me the TB for our wedding anniversary this past weekend.
So, I'll still be around, need to download the new GSB tonite and install, she's not sure if she's going to activate the phone or just use it as a calender / wifi toy.
I seriously can't thank/donate enough to the Devs (Tazz and Shed especially) for keeping this thing as fast as possible. It sure has been (scratch that) IS a great little phone.
And honestly, I'll probably frame mine for the office before I'd ever sell it!
Peace!

Now that's love! My fiance has hated it when I spend so much time on my phone, too. I don't spend as much time as I used to, though, even though I still flash often.
Have fun with your TB and take care!
^ i can agree with this :O)
I want to publicly thank all of you here on XDA (and some I know are on sdx as well) for your contribution to the rest of us users who lack the talent and downright genius to do what you do. Although some of us are sharp, and know a little bit, you are the 1% of us who have the ability take that idea and design and morph it into a theme or self operating system.
Thank you again. And thank you for being teachers as well! I have learned more in the past 6 months about computers and electronics and Linux than I have in my life being around them.

+one million. the people here are so helpful. i try to be as helpful as i can, but nobody can compare to the people who spend hours on end on roms and mods.
Yes thanks to all the devs and themers!
Cant belive how much dev support we have.
I knew I picked the right phone.

It's good to see threads like this in the morning instead of *****ing, complaining, or topics not related to the Evo 3D.
Thanks man. I take that to the heart...

I'm pretty much in awe over how much you can learn here in such a short period of time. The raw knowledge that is available here collectively is absolutely amazing.

Thanks cobra. I do it for the love of the game!(that's why I got rid of my donate button) When toast was a little whipper snapper and I was teaching him about thingamabobs, I remember him saying "Chef, thanks! I'm going to make a dope ass build of cm7 for the evo 3d". Off to the dev section toast! And ignore the ahole trolls!
I also want to thank the devs (whether or not most of them were under my wing at one point or another). You ALL make my phone a ton of fun. I've learned a ton of cool stuff from the devs and users here at xda.

I rarely post but I just wanted to agree with the subject of this thread and the posts in it so far. I've learned so much about Android, adb, etc. since I got my first Evo a little over a year ago. Being able to mod and flash our phones is something I'm sure a lot of us, I know I do, take for granted at times, but is something that wouldn't be available to most without the great Devs here. So I just wanted to say Thanks for making my phones better each and every day.

Well said. And ditto with learning so much since my og Evo. The nook color taught me a few tricks also.
Rootyourdroid.net. My nephews blog.
Your post is excellent. Behind the scenes of any mod, rom and theme is began with a idea to make it different and or better. And the developers are volunteers that help all of us out. They contribute knowledge that when applied let's us get s-off, root, better roms, better performing devices. Countless of hours go to any one single item they put out..and in some instances...many man years, all mostly for free. Time spent away from friends, family job, and other obligation in lives. Some are good, some are bad but all deserve a big THANK YOU.
Good post. It brightens up the forums a little bit.
good post man.. it is important that we continue to show love to the community, this place has turned into such crapfest recently.. and its good to see people posting positive material; devs, chefs and themers need to know that we appreciate their work so that they will continue to press on.. its hard to find the passion to make something when everywhere you turn is some douchebag talking crap about what he doesnt even know..
and many thanks to all of the people who have helped me in my time here, to help me accomplish the things that i can do today.. i wouldnt have thought i would be able to do half of the things that i can do now.. back in my heroC days learning about kernels from decad3nce and s0be, rom building from aosp, and themeing from thoughtlesskyle.. and many many others.. thanks a ton, and heres to a better community.. *cheers*
Maybe it's just me, but I'm so underwhelmed by the communit(ies) for the MoPho. Coming from a Pre, I'm used to a passionate and active community of near-fanatical phanboys waxing poetic on the delights/disasters of their phone. But there's so little excitement/action/enthusiasm around the MoPho. I'm really surprised. Personally, I'm happier with this phone than any other tech gadget I've used. Period. The signals are great - Phone, Wifi, GPS. The battery life is by far the best I've seen on a smartphone, there's no lag, the screen is easily seen in sunlight, the speaker is loud. Without root and just adding some widgets and a new launcher, this thing kicks A$$!
So why is it so dead in MoPholand? Where's the developer action? Am I the only one who loves this phone?
Maybe it's just the nature of the fragmented Android universe?
Or are people just ho-hum about the MoPho?
Or is everyone so happy that they're not spending time on forums b1tching about it?
C'mon mophos! Represent!
I don't frequent this board as much as some others as the Photon works so well with just the stock software and the few modifications posted in the DEV section. I am tired of trolling people that are talking about the SGS2 and I've got my theme how I like it (save for a few xml edits that I am too lazy to try and figure out).
There are two things that I would LIKE but I know will be harder for ME to figure out then its worth. Reboot options (have to edit android policy jar) and power control widgets in the pulldown bar (inb4 widget locker)
I totally see what you mean. However, I do remember when I first got my EVO it was a good 3-4 months before any activity started to pick up.
Honestly, I could care less. With my EVO I was looking forward to developments simply because ..... well there were many flaws with that phone.
The photon stock is sufficiently acceptable for me. Great battery, great speed, i really dont care about roms/kernels etc... All i care about is launchers, widgets and aps thats more than enough for me to customize
And with Android 4.0 coming out, anything I do to it now wont matter because I'll be one of the many curious people to upgrade
I say give it a couple of months at least until after the 4.0 comes out.
Two things I'm looking forward to: Android 4.0 and Nexus Prime.

Also, getting an unlocked boatloader with 4G (without having to jump through hoopes to make work) and other custom recoveries might help as well. It will happen...just very early for this device yet. In my opinion is moving along very nicely.

The Photon is such a kick ass phone all I really needed was root. Now if someone makes a cool and stable (or more stable) as the stock rom, that has a cool theme or offers me some neat functions I will flash it. Other then that WTF else do I need. If you are not happy with the phone or development then GTFO! Don't waste your time or ours *****ing.

Good to know things are likely to pick up over time. I'm glad to see everyone else generally very happy with the phone. There are some tweaks to do - but that's true of every phone. The MoPho has its issues down to things I'd call minor annoyances. It's got all the major issues covered. And they are totally on top of it with the updates. I think we will start getting big bonuses from the Googlerola combination.
I'll keep talking the phone up to everyone on my own.
This phone is so fantastic that I only need root. If some cool rims are developed with working 4g I will surely go that route, but for now I am fine with the way it is.

Things are still in the baby stages here and with the coming of the new Sammy phone I am sure a lot of people are undecided what they want to do. Once the line is drawn in the sand and folks make their decision on if they are staying with the mopho or going to Sammy things will pickup.

Yea, I agree. Fact is that the SGSII Epic Touch 4G is a killer phone and once released, this place will be almost a ghost town.

I disagree. This phone is very well done stock. But in comparison it has its weakness to other phones and when the sammy comes out more of those will be pointed out. But so will some of the places it shines. Give it time and the dust will settle. As of now there is no clear winner, but going either route you cant lose IMHO.

I would have to agree with everyone as well, has the pho even been out for a month yet?
I am very excited about the prospect of the unlocked bootloader w/4g as that is the only thing stopping me from going buck-nutty on this thing with new Roms. Motos have been hacked for so long im sure its only a matter of time before the flow of devs come back once the SGS2 hype dies down.
as for now all I need is root, since 4g is way too much fun to not have at the moment.

Exactly. I LOVE this phone Out OF The Box. Great/Amazing Battery Life. Stock ROM is fine with me. I finally feel I have NO need to put on another ROM. With Google Buying Moto Mobility, sky's the limit for our Super Phone. I can see it in Broad Daylight. I have the Sprint Hotspot on it (for Xoom, HP Touchpad, 3DS and Netflix) it works just Great with only 3G, 4G is Lighting Fast.
I am a happy customer. My wife liked it so much she gave our daughter her EVO Shift 4G and I got her a Photon. Everyone is Circle Jerking with the SGS2. Let them have it. When Sammy does not deliver (like usual) and we have Ice Cream before everyone else, they will be jealous of us and not the other way around. This is the BEST phone I have EVER had. I'm Rooted for My Backup Pro and Titanium Backup and that's it.

The display is very sharp but the Pentile effect is very obvious. It's like a dithering effect. Everything has this grainy effect to it. Charge your battery full and look at the battery meter. If you don't see a large green icon full of tiny black specks, you are in denial. You don't see a solid green icon, it's got that dithering effect. And so does everything else on the screen, but the screen is still sharp and vibrant.

Dude don't worry. Take your time off and get everything a-ok.
Everyone already is highly appreciative of all the hard work you have put in and thanks you for your efforts. You are all kinds of awesome for the dev efforts you have put in on this new and tricky device.
So thank you and hope to see you again soon. (And btw, thanks to all the other devs who have put in such awesome effort on the NT )
I love you nick, despite what others say about you I think ur cool
Indirect,
I wish you solace from whatever is hurting you. I'm a noob who has been combing this forum for a solid week in anticipation of getting a nook tablet. I can see that you make great contributions here (and I'm sure elsewhere). Thank you for everything you and the other devs do. Hope things get better soon.
Women always stifling progress. lol.
It’s always a shame when one loses a long-time companion and friend. But in life, one door closes and another one opens.
Here are some unpublished country western songs to amuse you while you both recover.
“I hate every bone in her body but mine.”
“It’s hard to kiss the lips at night that chewed my ass out all day long.”
“If I can’t be #1 in your life, then #2 on you.”
“If the phone don’t ring, you’ll know it’s me.”
“I still miss you baby but my aim is getting better.”
“I’m so miserable without you that it’s like you’re still here.”
“If I’d shot you when I wanted to, I’d be out of prison by now.”
“She got the ring and I got the finger.”
“You’re the reason our kids are so ugly.”
“While I was out getting hammered, she was home getting nailed.”
“She left me and took the dog. Boy I sure do miss him.”
Don't worry about it dude, things'll pass and you'll be OK. Thanks for all your work, it's much appreciated.

Dude, you've done so much for this community. Your real life has to come first. Get your head straight then come on back.
I volunteer for four different groups right now. If I didn't have the option of holding out the yellow flag on the field every now and then when life got tough, I woulda quit them all and moved to Montana a long time ago.
Dude, it's all good. Take time for yourself and know that you are appreciated here for all the work you have done.
Take your time man and heal, thanks for all the hard work you've put into helping us noobs And as someone already said earlier - one door closes and another one opens - completely true!
It may suck but it is very understandable that you need a break.
It's very important to have balance in your life, My real life is in management and all the crap that goes along with it, then toss in a bunch of women bull****. Personally I use XDA as my own personal escape(as a user not a dev that's a whole different ballgame).
To me it's a whole different world devoid of the crap that the real world has, filled with amazing things that are only a flash away.

Take the time you need we'll all still be here when ya get back :}

Family is more important than everything else, thats a fact. Take your time, clear your head, we will be here when you come back, thats for sure!
Thank you so much for all you do for the community.
Not sure what happened, but everyone is right. You are well within your rights for a break. Thanks for all your hard work, man.
Its times like these I like to repeat a quote I heard a long time ago:
"Never take life too seriously, nobody ever gets out alive.."
Hope whatever it is that ales you goes away quickly. This time of the year has always been hard on me as I've lost several loved ones. It still hurts but I've had to just learn to deal with it. I also just had my new daughter just arrive on Wednesday so good things come as well.
I hope you get a chance to forget about us, your problems, and just enjoy the spirit of the time of year. Have fun!

Maybe the other 94 views didn't see anything worth saying thanks for like myself. It would be different if you made the theme yourself but you simply posted a theme you found on Google play. Congratulations. I personally think that theme sucks. It's bright and very plain. Looks very similar to stock. I've got 3 different themes I use on substranium. Should I make 3 new threads and expect thanks? Lol
Seriously, Im not trying to be an a hole. I just didn't think you posted anything that merits a thanks. Actually I don't even think this merits it's own post. And then you coming back on all butt hurt that nobody thanked your post was just lame af and kinda makes you look like a d bag.

Lol… And you've been on here since 2012??? Look at the Dev. thread and see how many thanks they got for either making a Rom or putting up instructions on how to flash a GSI to our devices and answer lots of questions and help in there spare time!!
Very little my friend! Take a look! And as for it being a Subsratum theme means nothing except as I posted that I haven't seen any themes on here yet! And thought it would be a great idea for posting one so others on stock that cant get Pie to work, could atleast have the Pie look! You know, that New firmware that we are not getting Lmao! And further more, ive seen in threads that some were having problems getting substatum to work!!! No I didnt make a Theme myself, but I took the time to put up a thread for others to see and help HELP them if they had questions on how to install or anything for that matter! So, yes a thanks goes a long way when your doing this on your spare time!!!
Ive been on here for awhile now too and I had all the Samsung Note series and alot of the S 6,7,8 plus series and I have Made Roms, Mods, THEMES Etc. and have helped many!!!
So, before you respond to something, maybe take a look at what they have done for XDA community in there free spare time and support, not put Down my brotha!!!!!!!
And I do believe this is your post
"so the first guy to successfully get 2.3 to boot on a Sidekick only has 20 thanks on the op. Thats kinda sad. I know it's a long long way from being a daily driver but much THANKS windxixi. You are forever a Sidekick legend in my book. Respect"
Bro, you're killing me! ?
I have over 600 post with over 450 + thanks and I don't know how many been thanked! And you have 44 thanks since 2012 LMFAO… RESPECT

Sad thing is that more and more Great Developers are leaving XDA because of lack of RESPECT, PEOPLE ASKING FOR ETA'S CONSTANTLY AND COMPLAINING INSTEAD OF THANKING!
And you dont have to thank someone only if you use there Rom or Mod or Theme! Just cause you ended up on there thread and liked it, but maybe didnt use it at that time!
Fellow XDA's, these guys do this for free and in there spare time and we are losing them fast! I posted that comment on my thread because I dont want to clutter up someone elses! But ive been looking at Roms to Flash and see no Love for the guys that work hard to bring you these wondetful roms, mods etc. So, dont be like this guy (theusualDBag) in the post above mine who has thanked 0nly 44 times in 6+ years! Its only a button, but means alot!

Oh you got way more thanks them me. Congrats. Sorry I've been too busy living life to care about thanks. I'm more concerned about taking care of my mother with cancer, my father that's had 3 strokes, and that my bank account goes up every time my face is shown on the video Billboard in front of Harrahs on the Vegas strip. Hack im more concerned with the fact that I travel so much I don't even know what city, state, or time zone I'm in half the time when I wake up. What I'm not concerned about is how many thanks I have on xda in however many years. Do the 4 guys in my inbox from the last week that I've helped recover their bricked phones who actually said thanks count? Id prolly have more then you if I begged for thanks on every post as well. Or maybe I should get on Twitter and beg them to come on xda and thank me because I know I have way more followers then you do. I agree with most everything else you say, the developers do deserve more cred. But the developers I talk to do it because they love to do it, not because some dork hit a thanks button. None of this still doesn't change the fact that you didn't develope **** or that i still think that youre a ***** and I could drop you with an open hand smack. When you do something worth thanking, I'll hit the button. But congrats on having more thanks then me. I'm sure your mom and boyfriend are so proud of you.
