[APP] WiMoSpeed: [2011-09-20] V1.09 - Windows Mobile Apps and Games

CAUTION !!!
- USE THIS TOOL AT YOUR OWN RISK !!
- Overclocking your cpu may damage your device.
- Before autostarting the app be sure that your device will not hang.
- backup is always recommended !!
DESCRIPTION :
WiMoSpeed lets you change the CPU-speed. In opposite to other tools, even to the predecessor OverClockTool (OCT), it manipulates the values WM uses for clock control. So it works reliable on battery and AC without any scripting or active components.
USAGE :
- WiMoSpeed needs .NET CF 3.5
- Download and install the CAB
- Start WiMoSpeed.exe. If it reports that it cannot identify your ROM: read LIMITATIONS/PROBLEMS
- Select Speed
- Set Speed
- Exit WiMoSpeed.exe
- Your device still runs with speed you set
Auto start WiMoSpeed to desired speed:
Note: one advantage to installing WiMoSpeed to storage card is that if device ever won't boot at new speed, the card can be removed and the device will boot at original speed.
MOST IMPORTANT: Ensure WinMoSpeed will function safely on your device at desired speed by using it for several days while setting the speed manually.
Run WiMoSpeed, set to desired speed, click "create link with current settings". This will create a lnk file under the install directory, usually "/Program Files/WiMoSpeed" or "/Storage Card/Program Files/WiMoSpeed".
Copy that lnk file to the "/Windows/Start Up" folder.
Reboot device.
Run WiMoSpeed to verify "current CPU speed" is correct.
LIMITATIONS / PROBLEMS
I am working on this in my spare time, beside my job, my mate and some other interest. I own a Rhodium-device only, so I can not reproduce errors on other devices and debugging is very difficult and time-consuming. Be patient.
WiMoSpeed supports Qualcomm MSM7200 (and compatible) and is actually limited to ROMs of
Rhodium,
RhodiumW
Topaz
Blackstone
Whitestone / Imagio
Raphael / Fuze
Diamond
Kovsky / Xperia
Quartz
Pure
test (!) support for Jade, Panther, Mega and Rose
!!! If you have a device listed above and WiMoSpeed could not identify your ROM please post here what part of your ROM WiMoSpeed couldn't identify (OEMXIP and / or RADIO-ROM) and include a download-link of your ROM (OS, RADIO) !!! Otherwise I will ignore your post. Thank you.
If you are going to report an error please include the ROM identification of WiMoSpeed shown in the GUI (e.g. OS "Rhod016 / PLL2", Radio "4.49.25.91")
TECHNIQUE
Basically WiMoSpeed is hardware-independent, because it lets WM change clock speed. But I couldn't get WM to switch the clock reliable on request so WiMoSpeed had to switch the clock registers itself on setting a new speed.
Therefore WiMoSpeed depends on CPU-hardware, RADIO- and OS-ROM.
Raising or lowering cpu speed didn't change battery drain or device temperature noticeable. So there isn't dynamic clocking in WiMoSpeed, but WM is still controlling and changing cpu-speed on battery.

Downloading now
I just installed 1.01 and am loving it. Will try 1.02 shortly.
I was in search of the shortcuts created to switch speeds, and can see they should be next to the .exe file. The first post has the info I needed.
Hope to learn more, but this looks very good to me!
Erbid

Thank you!
I would like to be one of the first in this thread to congratulate and thank iwfratz for the outstanding tool.

my tp2 now run faster & stable at 748.8Mhz
kwbr Rhodium version 2.2
radio 4.49.25.17
Update!!
change radio to 4.49.25.57 & run at 768Mhz almost a day without SOD.
Thank Iwfratz for your hard work!

Hopefully more people will come over from the thread for NetRipper's app, try this out, and shoot you some of that bounty money.

Great app, running steady @ 768MHz
Never reached that speed before with OCT.
Just couldn't find the 528MHz button until I saw ur just supposed to click "down" 40 times lol

Does this mean that overclock is applied on AC only while WM restores normal (528 MHz) CPU speed on battery ?
Moreover, OCT was a device driver and it checked the CPU speed continuosly (or so I suppose). WiMoSpeed seems to set CPU speed only when run and then leave the CPU to itself (or to WM).
I'm confused

AC or battery doesn't matter using WiMoSpeed.
WM has several settings for cpu-speed (normal, idle, halted).
WiMoSpeed changes the speed settings WM uses for normal working speed. So WM itself takes care for the overclock speed and there is no need for any active component as a device driver or scripting.

So WiMoSpeed overclocks the CPU when on battery. Good

Yes but on 1st post you say: "But I couldn't get WM to switch the clock reliable on request so WiMoSpeed had to switch the clock registers itself on setting a new speed. Therefore WiMoSpeed depends on CPU-hardware, RADIO- and OS-ROM." So how can WM take care for the overclock speed when WiMoSpeed does not run? I'm still confused

Blackstone
I'm running this on my Blackstone. When it keeps the settings (672Mhz), it's snappy and quick.
However, it seems to change the speed down to 326.4 Mhz by itself for no apparent reason.
What am I doing wrong?

My quite old Topaz ROM and Radio (1.39.405.2 (47382) WWE and 3.43.25.19) are not listed on the 1st post.
Nonetheless, WiMoSpeed 1.02 seems to work very well

Give me your OS- and Radio-ROM version and a download-link for them. I will take a look into. I think it is not a mistake you made.

They are listed in the Wiki (http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Shipped_ROMs_for_Topaz). The supplied download link is http://rapidshare.com/files/2565664...Signed_Topaz_61.20t.25.10_3.43.25.19_Ship.exe
If it can help HKLM\Software\WiMoSpeed\oemxip_id and radio_id are both set to 0x1D.

Thanks for this WiMoSpeed update, iwfratz. It's a great Xmas gift for me and my Topaz!!
I can report my device is working great at 672.0 MHz. I'll try a higher frequencies later, if everything keeps working perfectly.
ROM and Radio details are at the signature.

Hi,
Not sure I understand what you mean by Radio-ROM, however - here's all the info I have:
OS version: 5.2.23151
Protocol Version: 52.69.25.37U
Radio version: 1.17.25.09
Do you need a copy of radio version 1.17.25.09, and a link to the actual Energy Rom I'm using?
Thanks,

[Updated: 08 Sep 2008] PagePool Changer

If You want to try ROMs with various pagepools, You can:
1. Download and unpack the attached file into any location on Your PC.
2. Start the PagePool Changer.
3. Select the ROM file (Your RUU_signed.nbh; but - works with OS.nb too).
4. If selected file is valid ROM (pagepool size found), You can change the pagepool size. After that press "Change to" button.
Done. Pagepool size is changed. Flash the ROM and enjoy.
And never download ROMs with different pagepools anymore - don't abuse Internet with unnecessary traffic...
Version History
1.0 - Initial release. Hermes-oriented only.
1.1 - Multiplatform support added. Supported platforms: Artemis, Hermes, Prophet, Touch, Trinity.
1.2 - Supported platforms:
Artemis, Athena, Herald, Hermes, Touch, Trinity (.nbh and OS.nb files)
Charmer, Wizard (OS nb files only - not .nbf!)
Prophet (.nba files)
2.0 - Re-designed interface, improved functionality. Added possibility to set not only integer values; range is now 0-64 Mb. In addition checked on HTC Kaiser, FS Loox N520, HP iPAQ 4700 and BenQ P51 ROMs - works
2.1 - This version fixes problem, reported by g0dspeed for Polaris "WM6.1" ROM:
If target-ROM has no Boot[ULDR] partition, (like bepe's newest for Polaris) PagePool_Changer can't find PagePool signature.
Click to collapse
The search algorithm is improved. No problem now.
2.2 - The same as 2.1, but with two new things:
range 0-128 Mb is now allowed and
command line mode is added; usage: PagePool Changer.exe [ROM file name [new pagepool value]]
NOTE: In command line mode pressing of the "Change" button closes the app.
2.21 - "Valid PagePool Value" is now not ">0", but ">=0"
Localizations:
v1.2 Simp-Chinese(zh-CN) by easyt - here
Handy. Nice!
Why can not change to 0 page pool, someone says it is super fast.

Aye, it'd the the Dead Pool.

Discussion about PP=0 is, of course, interesting-helpful-productiv...
But: for me is more interesting thing - is the algorithm I'd realised Hermes-specific or can be applied to other platforms too?
I tried to find/change PP in some ROMs. Results:
Platform/File/Result/Note
------------------------------------------------------------
Artemis/RUU_signed.nbh/Found (8 Mb)/xdaorbit-windows-update.exe
Elf/RUU_signed.nbh/Found (8 Mb)/RUU_Elf_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.11.707.1B_4.1.13.42_02.93.90_Ship.exe
Prophet/nk.nba/Found (8 Mb)/Prophet_WM6_17913_TrueNeytral_1_4MS.rar
Trinity/RUU_signed.nbh/Found (6 Mb)/img-38311-RUU_Trinity_mUn_2_01_TE_WWE.exe
Wizard/nk.nbf/Not found/Stable_Ground.zip
Seems like the PagePool Changer can be used by ROM cooking not for Hermes only. I checked (here and on 4pda.ru) - PP-change algorithm for Elf, Trinity and Prophet is the same as for Hermes. In Wizard's case I need to find clear description of PP-change algorithm... can someone point me to right post?
does this works with htc touch/ELF?
thanks!

Must do. The pagepool search/find/change algorithm is the same as for Hermes: description.
ROM file has the same extension (.nbh) as Hermes and can be processed by PagePool Changer easy.
Unfortunately, I don't own the Elf and cannot flash/test ROM myself.
Thank You!
Great tool "om-by" much better than poking around with hex editor
.... why do I see the wrong in what Ive just said
OMG! This is absolutely amazing!
Thanks SO much! You're right, why keep downloading the same ROM just for a different pagepool.
Cewl beans!
hi! thanks for this tool. I dont have the ELF (yet)
But if the files from the RRU can be updated using the tool, it should be ok right?
Appreciate if someone who have a touch who test this let us know the results. This is a very simple and excellent tool! Just update the file can do the normal update right?
I hope it works as I am going to get a touch soon!
Thanks again!
Perfect tool. Thanks dude
Excellent work om-by!!!! Thanks...
Version 1.2 released
Version 1.2 released.
1.2 - Supported platforms:
Artemis, Athena, Herald, Hermes, Touch, Trinity (.nbh and OS.nb files)
Charmer, Wizard (OS nb files only - not .nbf!)
Prophet (.nba files)
It 'll be last last version of "pre-flash" PagePool Changer. If I'll have time next month (now I don't have), I'll think about "inside" variant of it.
OK
Good utility thanks!!

[ROM][WM6.1][WWE] WM6.1 for Charmer Pure Edition [Update: 2009.01.20]

Hi All!
First of all a short story about this ROM:
As a Charmer owner I tried all available WM6/WM6.1 ROM in this forum. All are great, but I wanted to find something like the WM6 Essential edition, but based on WM6.1. Yesterday I decided to cook my own ROM, so I selected ChrBeck's WM6.1 WWE ROM (Thanks for him!) and tried to remove all 3rd party software, but HTC applications.
I also created my kitchen (based on Molski.Biz's Wizard Kitchen - Thanks for him ).
Now, it's only a bunch of scripts, but I'll put together with a short howto and publish it here.
Version History:
v0.3
-------------------------
- Upgraded to .NETCF 3.5 (performance increased significantly)
- Added .NET Configurator
- Registry tweaks regarding performance (caches)
Download here.
v0.2:
-------------------------
- Restored original png/gif files (splash screen, default_stwater, blankbanner, etc)
- Set Windows Default as the default theme (blue)
- Restored original Arcsoft MMS Composer because the integration of the new version failed.
- Added htcutil.dll and Device Information now working
- Translated the rest of the html help files (some were in CHS)
Download here.
v0.1:
-------------------------
- Initial release
- Removed components from ChrBeck's ROM: pocketnotepad, batterybar, psshutxp, HTC Home plugin, HHC, diamond and HTC themes, TFlow
- Updated ArcSoft MMS Composer to 5.0.70.24
- Cleared Extended ROM
- Autorun.exe now in English (removed german mui file )
- Changed boot splash
- Set WM6.1 green as default theme
Download here.
Known issues:
- Still nothing
Credits:
ChrBeck
Molski.Biz
All other who not listed here
Instructions:
Download and run self extracting exe. This will create a directory with the ROM image and the required tools. Run Update_ROM.bat and follow the instructions on the screen (if any).
Remember: You have to flash your device back to WM5 before using this upgrade!
Disclaimer: This ROM is not official. You can use it on your device, but I take no responsibility for any damage!
Remark: HTCUtil.dll was removed, because it's already in version 0.2.

Nice to see your first ROM here. I'll test it soon.
Looks sweet Will try A.S.A.P.
Interesting thing happens:
Installed .NETCF 3.5 in version 0.2 and selected as the default NETCF provider. The result is a significant speed gain!
The plan is to integrate NETCF into the ROM...More comes later.
Source
EDIT: Successfully integrated NETCF3.5 and NETCF2.0 with only 1MB memory penalty:
great to see my follower :-D
I'm reverting back to charmer, maybe I'll try cooking once more - but untill that, I'll use your rom...go on man
P.S.: IMHO touchflo is todays standard - wouldn't be better to include it? It works really good on chrbeck's rom...
Thanks nocturne.op.15!
I know that almost every ROM includes TF, but I wanted to create a clean and fast version of WM6.1.
Maybe once I cannot optimize my ROM any longer, I'll integrate such kind of tools.
PS.: Nice to hear, that you using my ROM on your charmer...
well, still found two things from chrbeck's rom - ugly (and unusable due to missing smartdial) dialer and calc skin
but it's good rom - and a good work, go on with cleanup
If you will try to perform extreme cleanup as I did in Essentials, you may find this usefull: http://www.dependencywalker.com/
it works pretty good...
As WM6.5 "released" to public, I will focused on to get WM6.5 running on charmer, so 6.1 pure development stopped for now. (but not forever )
HELP!
This is my first devise on WM!!
May you wright how to do it with 0.3 version. Everything you can - what I need to do, step by step?
Sorry to say that su unfriendly but READ THE STICKYS. We have a how to there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513426
The first part with the old Utility is the right for your Device.
Compliments to rmagyar,
Stable, Fast and very nice ROM for my HTC Charmer...
Speed and stability first of all..
Two comment:
1) Bluetooth is not receiving from other PPC machines!
is there a BT fix?
2) Sms threading? possible to add?

[ROM][WM6.5] Very light 23081 + Kitchen

This is a WM6.5.1 ROM, based on the 2.08 OEM ROM and 23047 XIP/SYS from Da_G.
All it has got is the bare minimum OEMDrivers, plus a fully featured SYS (some of the SYS applications have been tweaked: removed extra screen layouts for LockScreen, removed SampleMusic etc, UPXed a few things).
The XIP has been tweaked quite heavily to get the best performance, and you should be able to add whatever you like to this ROM and it should remain stable.
Try it and see (and install whatever keyboard you feel like using).
This will probably act as the basis for some "full" ROMs afterwards.

OLD:
Based on my Diamond/Rhodium 23034 ROM (which is being updated to 23037 now) I'm proud to present WM6.5.1 for Topaz owners!
It's a clean/light ROM with the focus on speed (at least until HTC makes their applications work with the new layout!)
So, the download links:

(May be unstable, this is only a TEST ROM)
Thanks to flippy for ROM hosting!
New ROM up now!
Fixed (hopefully) posted now!
tested - bug on restarting is gone - i will test the rest of the features right now
but im unable to test because of the same keyboard error i have posted to shadowlines rom - if you use the new keyboard - and change it with the directional button - keyboard dissappears - hope you fix that to- thanks
Keep freezing after a while after every window start-up ...
Have done the hard reset after flashing on device, but the prob still same ...
Dear l3v5y, your ROM apppearance is very useful and nice. go on with your ROM! Thanks.
After a quick test I noticed two things:
1. The magnifying effect is on and I'm unable to find a place where to turn it off. This is really annoying!
2. After starting Windows Live and trying to set account details, keyboard went missing and the program failed shutting it down after clicking the screen where keyboard was supposed to be.
3. Once I was unable to start File Explorer from Start menu, restarting the device helped on this matter.
So far then, stabilty isn't great. I could probably fix issues by removing the HTC IME, though then you're left with WMs crappy one....

I'm currently trying to get a stable kitchen (I screwed up my old one) ...
New ROMs + kitchen now in the first post!
I'm going away for a few days tomorrow, so won't be doing much active support... If something is urgent, email me (use the link in my profile).
I think your 09082804 is very speedy and light. Thank you for giving us new works. By comparing other newer ROMS, this is far better than them.
Would it be possible for you to include teater, msn weather and money? Or, can you provide them as additional cabs?
Also Windows Media Player doesn't have enough codecs. Can you provide a link to download necessary codecs?

One bug: camera.exe doesn't work because of either no sign or missed component.
Thanks l3v5y, just so you know though the kitchen links do not work, and the rapidshare one for the kitchen just has a spelling error.
Are you sure that screen shots in post#1 is for build 23037?
Because I have not "AM or PM" in time&clock setting!
I found that Netfront browser doesn't work at all. Can you guess why it doesn't?

Fasssssssssssssssssssssst
This is the fastest ROM I ever benchmarked. In fact: the first ROM above the 2000 points in my benchmark totals. And it's WM6.5!!!
There are a few remarks though:
- it's a very very light ROM, virtually no applications, no Manila (the latter is just fine for me, I use PointUI)
- the magnifiing thing is very annoying, almost unusable
- in some applications (like Total Commander) there's no OK/Close button anymore
- camera is not working.
But still: very very fast, a new record
Congratz l3v5y!!!

I can try and make up some cabs from the OEM packs... I removed that stuff cause it's extra stuff that may not be needed by most.

Those two come from my idiocy, I forgot to include two packages (mHubVO and DirectShow) that include all the codecs for media player and Camera. I'll upload a fixed ROM and those packages for use with the kitchen.

Well spotted, the screenshots are actually from my Diamond 23034 ROM... I haven't taken any screenshots of my 23037 ROM as it's cosmetically pretty similar.

[Dec 10][SD] NexusHD2-FRG83D V1.8 (PPP + RMNET) [Kernel: hastarin r8.5.3_oldcam]

If you would like to use a SD version, please read and download V1.8 below.
V1.8 is the final SD version.
If you would like to boot this SD version with magldr, you can replace with a new rootfs.img which is patched by nzxtneo.
NexusHD2-FRG83D V1.8 SD version (PPP + RMNET)
This is the latest, fastest, stable and clean *stock* Android build for HTC HD2.
This build includes Google Nexus One's OTA update (FRG83D - Android/Froyo 2.2.1). (released on Nov. 18, 2010)
Quadrent score is about 1866 when using a sync file system.
Complete backup website (Find the older versions in the link below):
Mod edit: Link removed
The default kernel is hastarin r8.5.3_oldcam, please visit his post below for more information:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787588
Release Notes:
"Stock" build except blocking ads (hosts file is replaced) and adding "H" (HSDPA) icon and battery % icon
By default it is hastarin's EVO based kernel (support for PPP), but you can switch to N1 based kernel (support for RMNET) easily.
Switch to RMNET by executing "conn_RMNET_with_michyprima_R11_AXI.sh" or "conn_RMNET_with_huanyu_HAVS-BFQ-OC-UV-AXI_925mv-0.1.d-n1.sh" in the GScript folder and then reboot.
Switch to PPP by executing "conn_PPP_with_hastarin_r8.5.3_oldcam.sh" or "conn_PPP_with_hastarin_r8.5.3_eb_oldcam.sh" in the GScript folder and then reboot.
oldcam means the old camera driver for Nexus One build.
eb means the older battery driver with extended battery support.
Install "GScript Lite" from Android Market to execute these .sh files.
E.g.: You will see the text below if executing "conn_RMNET_with_michyprima_R11_AXI.sh" successfully.
    RMNET is ready.
    michyprima_R11_AXI is ready.
    Finished.
    Reboot required.

Create 512 MB data.img (You can specify the different data image size in startup.txt)
Rooted: superuser privileges (su and busybox) included
Some apps included (Delete any apk files in the AndroidApps folder before first boot if you don't like any of them.)
What is working:
WiFi
GPS (works great. I got a location within 15 seconds.)
3G/HSDPA
5MP Camera with flash, auto focus and zoom
Camcorder with flash
LED status notification
Keypad LED control
Auto Backlight
Bluetooth (BT headset is fully supported in calls, music streaming/A2DP, and files transfer.)
Compass
G-Sensor
Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
WiFi Tethering/Hotspot (works with RMNET. For PPP, please install android-wifi-tether on Google Code)
USB Tethering (Please install android-wired-tether on Google Code)
USB Mass Storage (You can copy files from PC to PC. But Android apps cannot see the copied files in the phone before rebooting.)
Tips:
The battery power consumption on standby is about 5~7mA (less than 1% per hour) without SetCPU installed.
To my knowledge, the battery life is related to the WM ROM, radio version, and all the apps running in the background.
The default CPU clock rate is set to 245MHz ~ 998MHz, but you can install SetCPU to overclock.
Turn off the live wallpaper for better performance and battery life.
Install LauncherPro for a smoother home screen.
I have included the following apps in the AndroidApps folder, they will be installed at first boot:
DSPManager 1.0.apk
ES File Explorer 1.4.8.5.apk
Fancy Widget 1.3.0.apk (Time & Weather)
Superuser 2.3.6.1.apk
TeslaLED 2.0.4 Gala.apk
About 3G/HSDPA:
The stock Nexus One ROM only shows 3G icon in the status bar no matter if you are in HSDPA or not.
You can check under "Settings > About phone > Status > Mobile network type". If it says HSDPA, you are on the 3.5G network ("H" Network).
With v1.8, I have included FRG83D_stockbar_add-on_H_icon_and_battery%_icon.zip in the "Android/root" folder.
If you don't like this add-on, please delete the folder named "root" located in the "Android" folder before first boot.
Mod edit: Link removed
Please install MoreLocale 2 from Android Market to enable more languages if needed.
Please visit Nexus One Help website and try to find the answer when you encounter any software issues on NexusHD2-FRG83(D). Thanks.
Installation Instructions:
Extract the Android folder (with all files in in) to root of your SD Card. THIS IS IMPORTANT.
If you already have an Android folder on your SD Card DELETE IT OR RENAME IT, because this version MAY BE INCOMPATIBILE with older releases !!!
After copyng everything to your SD Card ensure you have at least 600 Mb free space for data store
After you have done all steps go into Android folder and tap CLRCAD (for working sound), and after that just tap HaRET.
On first run when there is "Creating a new datastore" just give it time to complete, and on first boot be patient and give it time to load everything.
If you get some strange errors, or Android does not work, try to reformat SD card and try everything from the start.
HD2 needs radio 2.08 or above to run Android. If you never upgrade your radio, you may not be able to run Android on HD2.
>>>> All apps will now function and install correctly. If you have an issue installing an app from the Android Market or another source, then go through the following steps:
>>>> - Go to Settings > SD & phone storage > Unmount SD card
>>>> - Now install your app, it will now install correctly and function fine
>>>> - Go to Settings > SD & phone storage > Mount SD card

1% ~ 1.2% per hour when being 3G standby.
You may change the kernel (zImage) for better battery life.

You need to modify "/system/build.prop" by yourself.
change "ro.sf.lcd_density=240" to "ro.sf.lcd_density=180" or whatever you want.

================
- Updated a new kernel that supports $aur0n script (EXT4 support)
- Down-clock to 1100 Mhz because 1200 Mhz seems too hot and not too stable
- Merge some patches from kernel 2.6.29.6

============
- Initial version (not EXT4 support)
- Over-clock to 1200Mhz

Beware! After overclock, you will feel a bit hotter than before and battery drains much faster!! Flash it at your own risk.
What you need to do is:
1) Install SDE
2) Get the initramfs from this post (download the kernel+init.zip and extract it): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9948644&postcount=1
3) Replace the zImage with the new overclocked kernel
4) Boot into SDE recovery menu and copy the initramfs.cpio.gz and zImage through USB cable
5) Boot into SDE developer OS
6) You should get all your apps here and have superuser right now
You will now have read/write access to /system/ or /data/ ...etc.
Next step: You can download GScript from the market (free) to make some custom scripts to remove unnecessary apps and replace the hosts file, etc.

Oh thanks man! I'll impliment this into my own version of Auron's, yeah there was some confusion about your method, thanks for clearing that up!
Nevermind XD I don't know enough to add that, but Auron heavily uses EXT4 which he compiled into his kernel, which is probably why it isn't working for you, he explains in his topic the things he did or did not do.

Thanks. BTW, it would be good if Auron will release his source such that we know what exactly is changed apart from the EXT4 things.
New kernel updated!!!
Get it at the #1 post
Now, it is EXT4 support and can be used together with $aur0n initramfs !!!
Down-clock to 1100Mhz seems to make it more stable
Thanks man really appreciate your quick work! works perfectly with Auron's
Although I'm curious how that overclock works, I've read up on it and it seems that everyone else is making overclocking modules etc. your solution seems a lot more efficient. Do other people know about it too?
I first though it was just a soft change, something that didn't affect the hardware, but something that just forced the digit 1100 instead of 1000, this doesn't appear to be the case since I get some speed gains in Quadrant
~ benched a 2438 ^^
edit: is it possible for you to change the LOWEST value as well? i'm not sure how it would react but I imagine a 100Mhz/200Mhz feature would save up some standby-battery-usage also is it possible to change the intervals with this method? so that we can get 300/400/500/600/700..1100?
edit2: would it be theoretically possible to compile a kernel with driver support for gamepads and others? perhaps ntfs-3g to mount ntfs external drivers... thinking about this we have usb host on this device and an open bootloader

The most difficult part is to determine how much voltage to be given to each frequency. So, it would take some efforts to study.
In addition, setting too low frequency is not necessary be good because the machine might go into deep sleep and never wake up.
Have you run any Super PI tests (or something similar) to see if there are stability issues with the increased clock rates?
Typically when I over-clock my CPU on my PC I increase the voltages at the micro or mini level (CPU, Front Side Bus, Memory, Memory Controller, etc.). As an example 1.3500 may not be stable but 1.3501 could be. Typically You can find the voltage tolerances typically at CPU manufacturer website (ie Intel for me). of course you also have to deal with the temperature of the CPU and other supporting components that regulate the voltage. I will run a Super PI type application to test stability for a few hours. If it works then dont add voltage.. if it comes back with a miscalculation OR an application/OS crash then increase the voltage by a micro amount...
You are correct when you saw it not performing at a higher clock rate... typically what happens if the CPU does not have enough voltage to perform at the expected clock rate it seems to throttle the execution rate to ensure some level of integrity of the executing transaction..
Unfortunately over-clocking is not a science..

its using the same cpu as a lot of android phones are and i daresay that most of the work (working out optimal cpu voltage etc) has already been done
The question is for non-standard clock rates. Standard clock rates should have well defined voltages.

can this kernel work on a101 or not?
Yes it will work, I'm 90% sure since they tested it on the 70IT and it's working perfect on my 43IT.

ok i will give it a try....
I have tried this 1100 Mhz kernel and angry birds don't want to start and asphalt 5 have to force closing, I have returned with the only rooted rom....

While this kernel has been OC, it only allows you to choose higher frequencies. BUT, you can still choose 1000 Mhz as the highest by setting it in SetCPU.
After setting min/max as 1000Mhaz in SetCPU, this kernel is just like any other kernels, except that I have applied some of the newest kernel patches (fix bugs?) so that this kernel MUST be better than the stock one.
Hope you enjoy using it
no no, the problem is that after installing oc kernel(without touching anything about frequency), angry birds doesn't run and asphalt 5 doesn't run well and it closes when init a race...So, what's the problem? I have returned to original kernel(with rooting), and now are perfectly running(angry birds and asphalt5)...

It is quit strange, coz I can run angry birds, dungeon hunter, etc.. very smoothly even when I use 1100 Mhz, have you tried to install SetCPU and set the frequency?
Any one have similar problems?
Working great on my A101! It's subtle, but I do notice a slight performance increase in pocket legends. Keep up the great work ardatdat!
ok so i did it and now the youtube app freezes up with 1100 or 1200 mhz...the video plays for like 3 or 4 sec and than freeze leaving only audio playback.. video plays normal at 1000 mhz and down...
thanks for your sharing
but I can't unzipped the newest kernel
the 7-zip showed "file broken"
