I have one made by VR Tech that plugs into the cigarette lighter. It came with a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter cable and I use it to listen to music and watch movies.

You need adapter cable. But if you connect jack 3,5 mic excluded and you can't talk with a phone. Simple solution possible is create a cable with microphone and you can talk and listen mp3 and video's audio.
i attached schematic diagram
Another solution using parrot bluetooth module. In this case using bluetooth for phone talking and a2dp audio provided from the phone. I have sony autoradio with bluetooth. I talk and listen audio or video from the phone.

[Q] Problem playing music through car aux port

when i connect my X10 to car aux port the music continues to come out of the phone speakers. Any solution?
weird phone should detect it as some kind of headphones
have you tried with normal headphones?
yes works with headphones but not with car aux. its weird
Aux output not working with car audui player
HAving the exact same problem with my Sony Ericsson Xperia X8.
Im used to plugging out the aux cable directly without pausing the player....can these two things be related?
Can you show me the Jack of your AUX cable?? I am sure it's having 3 plastic rings!

[Q] Audio through micro usb does not sound good

Audio through the micro usb port is heaps different from audio through the headphone port. I just bought the official car dock. The audio quality is just tinny and no warmth/bass.
I don't have any other means to test if it's the dock that's the problem. I asked the creator of VillainRom and was told it could be kernel-related. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Line-out from the phone is not amplified. So try plugging it into a headphone amplifier first and don't listen to straight line-out.
I aslo have noticed that thru the bluetooth streaming to the Ford Explorer it is also crappy quality. Does the bluetooth have a upgrade that improve the quality ????
I am not rooted and using 2.3.3.
Thanks in advance...

2 android DEVICES, use one to stream BLUETOOTH AUDIO to the other

Hi guys
I have an older car without bluetooth or AUX in. I have been using a cheap FM transmitter with a 3mm plug to play music from my phone through the car radio.
I am looking to buy a bluetooth FM transmitter but haven't decided which one to get yet, maybe santa will bring me one 8-}
Anyway, until I get BT/FM device... I have an older android phone (Samsung Galaxy Gio s5660) that doesn't get used anymore. I was thinking maybe I could leave that permanently plugged in, in the car, and have it pair with my Nexus 4 so that poweramp on the N4 can stream to the s5660 and play through the headphone jack > 3mm FM transmitter.
Is this possible and how do I go about doing it? Apps to use, etc? I don't really know a whole lot about bluetooth. I'm just tired of plugging in the cord every time I get in the car.
Thanks any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I guess it's unpossible then

[Q] Galaxy Alpha and Car Stereos?

Hey all I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any aftermarket car stereos that will work with the galaxy alpha running 4.4.4 via USB connection I know the newer pioneer stereos connect via USB to android devices with MTP I'm not a fan of having to use the Aux port of my stereo or bt audio
Sadly that is why I'm having to getting rid of this phone as it doesn't have MHL and won't work with my Kenwood Excelon DDX8901HD radio. I would check out Crutchfield, they are helpful.
