Bluex might do, or does the trick.....
http://www.androlib.com/android.application.com-alex-bluetoothfileshare-jznE.aspx
Bluetooth API is not yet in the SDK/Framework, caues it wasn't finished and need
rework (they don't wanna add an unfinished and unflexible API on which they get
stucked for years, cause of compatibility to already existing software)

I believe BlueX does not currently work on Hero. I could be wrong, but this certainly used to be the case.
Regards,
Dave
Bluex dont work, cant send or receive any file.
thanks
From what I've read you need to Root your Hero for BlueX to work. I always find this entertaining as BlueX is always in the top 10 paid apps in the android market. How many people have rooted their Hero?
when i select search devices on bluex, show "Error in local device(Power disabled?)". but bluetooth is on and is discovered.
Hi guys,
Over at the HTC Hero forum I have been developing a kitchen to help ordinary people learn how to build their own ROM. Recently, I purchased a Nexus One, and so I was able to port this kitchen so that it can now successfully create a rooted Nexus One custom ROM.
The kitchen works for the Nexus One but is still found at the HTC Hero Android Development subforum, so I'll probably get someone to move it to a common forum eventually:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
Enjoy!
WOW, thanks, cant wait to try

No problem, I'm trying to get Wi-fi tethering working as well, as the Nexus One requires some additional steps to get it to work. I asked in the Wireless Tether thread.. maybe someone knows?
I'm going to check this out, may be just what I needed
Wow thanks a lot, very kind of you to do this! Setting up now
Ok, I have now updated the kitchen to version 0.20, so that Nexus One owners can now cook in the Wireless Tether. As you might know already, for the Nexus One the wireless tethering app requires a kernel modification (which is kind of complicated for the Average Joe), so the kitchen does all that for you automatically. I just used the modified kernel that is provided in the Wireless Tether project page.
ROM ROM ROM ya boot..
Works really well, although it might be better (under OSX) to make the disk bigger than 500mb.
I found the simplest way to use the soylatte java was to extract it, put it on my Kitchen disk and then simply modify the menu by adding
Code:
PATH=/Volumes/Kitchen/soylatte16-i386-1.0.3/bin/:$PATH
at the top. Saves screwing up any other java dev work going on
Tested it with a Nexus One Cyanogen rom, works nicely for stripping out stuff I don't want and adding what I do.
Good Job. Thanks!

worked nicely for me too. set up a virtual machine on my macbook and loaded latest ubuntu plus jdk. ...changed splash ...stripped an apk ...added in motoapps for exchange calendar ...added a wifi tether direct instead of tool ...dropped in a few extra media sound files. the output zip flashed no problem and all tweaks (through very-very minor) working.
it would be appreciated if any more resource links exist other than those already in first post of thread. i'd like to learn more
yeah,this thing works(on mac).
but i wish we have a tutorial to cook a rom,(kernel).

I don't think the Nexus One has the storage capacity to flash a Desire ROM - has been mentioned in this forum in some threads. You have to take stuff out to save space.
Menu for build.prop? I'm as much of a noob as you.
I recently switched roms and lost the Avatar launcher and the Sims 3.apk.
I know you can open Avatar through the gallery but that's not as good for showing off.
Can anyone send me a link to download them, or maybe rip them off your device?.
I really miss them.
There are many ways to solve this.
First, is search the forum.
Second, know something about his, download a stock rom and pull it for yourself.

I am having a similar problem trying to install Avatar. I am running Bionix Final - Sims 3 installs fine, Avatar is a no go. I tried to copy it into /system/app using Root Manager - rebooted and it still does not appear... any ideas?
I don't really know, I'm still a noobie to this android stuff. I just pushed it into system/app/ using ADB, and it worked for me. I'm using fusion 1.1.

Is that Bionix a Froyo build?
I've posted a modified Avatar.apk that looks for the movie in the proper location on Froyo ROMs. It's tested on Onyx ROM, but should work on any Froyo ROM. It's here if anyone still looking for a workaround about this and the apks posted above don't work for you.
On avatar it says application not installed...? Also when I download it where does it download the file?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I get a file not found when launching the avatar apk. I'm running macnut12. Hmmm, maybe I deleted the movie in the internal sd by mistake. Reverting back from a stock froyo (e.g. Eugene's unofficial froyo) through Odin should fix this issue. Am I correct?

Is that directed at me? Do you mean on your phone? Downloads from the web should end up in a folder called Downloads on the internal sdcard. From there copy with root explorer or adb to the proper location (/system/app)
Sims 3
When I had this issue I had lost the entire Sims 3 game and not just the launcher. The second post only includes the launcher apk, so I will attach both. I am only reattaching the launcher just in case the one posted somehow does not work with the launcher posted prior.
FYI - I pulled these from my stock dump I made before I loaded my first custom ROM, and from what I have heard they will work ONLY on the T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant SGH-T959 and nothing else.
It may not matter, but I think it is best to install them in order. Also since the max upload on apk (for me at least) is 8Mb and the game is 74Mb I am putting them into an archive first and doing an external link, so you will need 7zip or something similar.

These are standard APK files. Basically they are Android installer packages. What to do with them or how to install them are basic aspects of using Android. If you plan on using an Android device as anything beyond a basic consumer device you should take the time to understand these basics because putting them here is beyond the scope of this thread.
This should help.

So do you have a T-mobile Vibrant SGH-T959? It absolutely will not work if you don't.
Did you install both APK files in the correct order for Sims 3?
Are you using a custom ROM? It may not work in all ROMs. If you are using a AOSPish ROM like Macnut I don't know if it will work, because AOSP is built from the (Android Open Source Project) and not from Samsung/T-mobile firmware.
I have only tested this to work on Bionix and Auxra ROMs myself.
I have a samsung vibrant... I am using android 2.2 i have no custom rom installed.. do i need to rename it are something. what is the order of the sims 3 apk. can u list a step by step instruction list on how to do this..

Something is wrong with your statement. Maybe I should have been more explicit in my questions. This only works for US T-mobile Vibrants. It is an exclusive item that was (non-exclusive version now available in the market for $4.99 http://www.appbrain.com/app/the-sims™-3/com.eamobile.sims3_na_qwf) only available on US T-mobile Vibrants. This package only restores Avatar and Sims 3 for those who lost it, it does not provide it to those that should not have it.
Here are the problems with your statement:
You can not be using a stock firmware and also be using 2.2. Sorry you have to pick one as T-mobile has not pushed a OTA 2.2 out yet. This is not for Bell customers or other non United States phones.
There is no reason for you to have lost these packages if you are not running a custom ROM as they are not uninstallable.
So as you can see, there is something very fishy with your story. If you are just confused and not lying about your situation then you are running a custom ROM or you would not have lost these. In this case try re-downloading the files, use the link in my first post (Post #13) and you would have to be really confused to not figure out the order to install because they are numbered. If it can not parse these then either your download is corrupt, you are missing one of the two installs, or phone is not a United States SGS-T959.
Hi all,
I have been looking around for long time and trying different solutions to add Arabic (BIDI or RTL) support to my vibrant but with no luck.the only thing is just adding the font so instead of showing squares it shows the letters but disconnected and in reverse order.
Have any one been successful in porting the language support from the i9000 middle eastern rom? I tried but my phone will not boot and I don't know how to access the log at that stage to see why or what is missing.
Do we have a better built in support in froyo? Or it is the same?
I have seen many threads in many forums but most are not active for long time.
Any help will be appreciated.

There is an update rom running froyo 2.2 for Orange (I9000JHJP4) and has support for Arabic and hebrew, i tried to get some files from it to my 2.1 but did not work, i know i am missing more files that should be also integrated. that rom is for the international Galaxy S i9000 so it might not work with Vibrant

Look at this thread, one guy is trying the same thing and he is getting the same error, and i think he got a work around in a hebrew site which i could not understand so you might find the solution to your problem there http://iandroid.co.il/forum/topic5657.html but for me I still need the Arabic character reshaping so RTL alone is not enough
And this is the link to the XDA thread where they discuss the same issues, and it seems that they are about to integrate the BIDI solution into the AOSP and CM

Could you post the way it's supposed to do this? I'd like to learn how but i'm, as you can imagine, a newbie at this.
Update: i've found a temporary Workaround:
First of all notice that i needed the ad-hoc connection to use my tab in junction to my android phone when i'm on the move.
Said that I've found the way to share the phone connection via bluetooth: Obviously isn't fast as a proper wifi, but until someone (daveba ?) will patch the wpa_supplicant, this is the only solution.
On my phone i've downloaded from the play store Foxfi. There I have activated the bluetooth dun connection.
On tablet side i've downloaded from the play store pdanet tablet & configured to pair with my phone.
And ... TAADAA!!! i had back my connection on the move.
I repeat, it's not a proper solution, but until someone more coding skilled than me get the patch done, this will work.

You need to download the AOSP sources for ICS and set up a compile environment and then patch up the wpa_supplicant sources as per my previous post and then recompile and provide a CWM flashable zip.

I'll try to download it and extract the wpa supplicant. Maybe this time i'll be luckyer. And obviously, if this will work i'll share here.
Cross your fingers, please.
SAD UPDATE: I tried to use the wpa_supplicant e wpa_conf files on task650's ics rom but unfortunately the tablet has working wifi but doesn't recognize my wifi tethering from the phone. So for who as me don't want to use non stock rom (mostly for stability reason at the moment) can't have wifi thetering recognized.
I'm starting to suppose that on ics things are quite different from honeycomb on this topic. Maybe Someone whit good coding skill should try to help us.
And at the moment my workaround it's the only solution avaiable.

You can still use your phone!
Nokia phones have dun connection via bluetooth, so pair your phone with your galaxy tab and start pdanet.
From there use the configure button, and select your phone after that is appered in your list.
At that point you'd be ready to go!
Let me know if it works.
