Since the vibrant doesn't have LED notification, is there any sound notification setting for missed calls, texts, etc...
Like if there's a missed call, the phone will start to sound off one BEEP like every 5 or 10 minutes.
I don't check my phone every seconds, so when I do check it, I always get missed calls and texts but I'm always a few hours past it.
Thank you.
No, I don't believe there's an option for that. You might be able to find soem third party application for messaging that offers that future, but I'm not sure.
There is the BLN (back light notification) that is included in certain ROMs, though I haven't seen it in a while. It enables the softkeys to light up when receiving a call or message etc.

Not sure about a app for sound but you can get noled off the market that will blink dots to let you know you missed a call text or whatever.
Try an app called FlashNotify. It does boths, flashing and notification sound.
SMSpopup had an option in it to repeat notifications for texts. For everything else I just use noled.

Is there a way to keep the screen from turning on when I receive an SMS? I really dont mind much that the screen turns on but having the screen turn on seems to mess with Missed Message Flasher which I want to use to remind me of missed calls, SMS, etc. Missed Message Flasher automatically turns off when the screen is on so when I receive an SMS and the screen turns on, Missed Message Flasher disengages and I dont receive any reminders.

Hi,
I remember seeing an app a couple of months ago that, when set, would let you filter incoming calls while your phone is on silent, the problem is that i have no idea what the app is called and have tried searching with no luck.
Now what i mean is this:
If i put my friends number in the settings of the app and he calls me while my phone is on silent he will recieve an automated SMS from my phone saying that my phone is on silent but if it's an emergency that he should call me again and if they do call me again within a certain period of time the app makes the phone ring normally instead of silencing the call.
Anyway, i have no idea what it's called and would really appreciate any help in finding it
EDIT: Never mind, found it, it's called Dindy
Hello all,
I have a problem. I'd like my phone to only vibrate when I receive calls, and nothing else. Text messages should not trigger the vibration, nor any incoming emails. Only when someone else calls me.
Right now, my phone has vibration COMPLETELY disabled, meaning that even when people call me, it doesn't vibrate.
How can I mess around with the settings such that calls trigger the vibration?
I'm using the stock rom, if it makes a difference. Thanks!
I have disabled the test message vibration, as i use Go sms pro and i have disabled the vibration in it...
so only for calls my phone vibrates.
and for email.. I dont check mails in my mobile usually.. so u can disable vibration in ur email client app too
Individually go to each app settings and disable the vibration
Be Kind everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
I never knew that you could individually change the application's vibration settings! That should do the trick.
I currently have the default Messenger App. What I've done , is go to Settings>>Notification Settings>>Select Ringtone>>Silent. I've left the notification under Settings>>Sound to "Vibrate to always", so hopefully that works?
And on a side note, what are the advantages (if any) of using Go SMS Pro over the stock SMS application, besides customizable themes?
Edit: Doing what I've described above does not give me the desired results. The phone still vibrates when text messages arrive.
Hi
i have some issues with the mate 10 pro notifications. especially with whatsapp -
from time to time my phone starts the whatsapp incoming massage ringtone (or vibration if its on vibrate mode) and stops halfway through the tone - when i open my phone i see no notification whatsoever.
i came to understand that this happens when i receive whatsapp massages from group chats that are muted (with notifications set to 'do not show notifications') - not every massage from those groups does that but from time to time when its happening its because of those massages (sometime i can see a push notification from those muted chats that disappears quickly - its as if my phone forgets those chats should not give notifications and reminds that after its starting to vibrate and ring)
this is extremely annoying as im getting those vibrates or notification sound even though im not suppose to.
did someone else experienced that? and maybe succeeded fixing that?
bump
anyone?

I don't have a solution, but I have similar issues with WhatsApp notifications. Usually I don't get the LED flashing, but I do see a notification when the phone is unlocked. Occasionally, I get no LED and no notification when the phone is unlocked. These phones have great hardware but rubbish software
Not a Huawei specific issue, had the same bull**** with WhatsApp on both the A8 and the Pixel 2 XL. Was OK on the Mate 10 and S9+.
I assumed it was a Huawei issue, as it's worked perfectly on every other phone that I and my wife have owned. The Huawei software has a habit of killing background processes, even when you tell it not to, so it seemed a reasonable assumption.
Hello,
I like having notifications for all apps turned on, but there is pretty annoying stuff going on in all messaging apps we have.
For example
-if someone is sending you texts or messages via messenger, whatsapp, or viber or anything else, you are getting constant notifications sound everyfew seconds.
-if you have group messages and people are sending messages you constantly getting notifications
My question is, is there a way you could enable for all apps that: If you receive notification from app X and get notification sound, and if you get another notification from the same app, the sound does not happen because it is such short time before last and this notification. And we could setup for example allow sound only after there was 1min or 5 min after last notification sound, when it allows for the sound to happen again.
That way you could receive notification sound only every 1min or 5min or whatever you setup, if you have group chat and people are constantly typing something. Because if not, you are getting the sound every 3seconds.
I hope you understand and can help with this
Thank you
