Big problem
Hi! i have a Lg c660 and i'm very sad for this. I have been rooted and then installed ROM MANAGER to make back-up. I changed the backup name, and then i clicked ok. my phone has restarted and no started to make back-up, only LG logo appear on display. I tried emergency mode with kdz but i received error, probably was not correct ROM, I tried to restart the phone, i pull out battery and usb cable and then the phone no start. I was with him at service and a guy repaired the phone with JTAG. Now, the phone rules perfectly, but is locked on fly mode. I can't unselect fly mode. the guy from service said probably is f**ked up the ESF or EFS (i don't know exactly) which include file with GSM network and parameters, Imei, and i can't use the phone to speak at him, only without sim. How can I fix this problem? The phone was bought from Italy.
I'm sorry for my bad english, is not my mother tongue.

what do you mean?
I thought I always start in emergency mode.
well that is what i am doing.
I'm beginning to think that the cable is bad.
PROBLEM SOLVED
1-. The transfer cable driver was installed, otherwise i could not start transfer data:silly:.
2-. The problem was the other driver was not installed (no remember the name). So after successful installation KDZ want to recognize the phone and the driver that i mentioned was no installed, so is pops up error even after install the ROM.
3-. i tried to start the phone and always got stack in the LG logo over and over again .
4-. I did not know this after i downloaded all the diver from here ( search google lg c660h soporte). So i installed the error was disappeared .
5- After no error, the star up still displaying LG logo over over again, so searching i noticed that i was not doing the right hard reset. So i did it (VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER), wait for the android logo and eureka :fingers-crossed:!.
Summarizing
install the proper diver.
do the hard reset.
Cool , saved my phone..
Here's what i did :
install msxml on pc
disable lg modem in device manager
run kdz-fw-upd.exe
choose :
type : 3gqct
phonemode : DIAG
from "kdz file" section choose the KDZ file "V10H_00.kdz"
go to emergency mode in phone "return-up-power button together"
connect usb cable
perform lunch...
Good luck ...
I bought a LG MyTouch 4G Slide (myTouch Q)
I rooted it, upgraded the software, everything was great.
I was flashing a theme through zip and suddenly, it cut off and now my phone is unresponsive.
The LG splash screen shows twice, followed by displaying the following message:
E:Can't find misc
E:Can't find misc
Finding Update Packages..
E:unknown volume for path [SDCAR
D:/download/(name of the zip file)]
E:Can't mount SDCARD:/(File location)
Installation Aborted.
Factory Reset Failed
Restart Factory Reset
Then the cycle repeats its self.
I cannot access bootloader (power+volume down) no matter how many times I try, it continues to do the same process.
I have searched everywhere and cannot find the answer to this problem, does anyone know how I can make my phone work again?
how'd you upgrade the software? try loading a stock rom either through your computer or sd card, I'm not familiar with the exact process for a slide, but that's what I'd try.

I did it the old-fashioned way. Went into settings and searched for updates, then T-Mobile updated me OTA.
The phone worked perfect prior to the theme.
Every file I've put on the sdcard seems to not have any effect on this problem.
Do you know where I can find a stock ROM for LG M4GS? All the one's I've seen around are for HTC.
I downloaded ODIN but it only tells me to connect the phone when it's plugged in via USB.
I'll donate to whoever helps me, really need to fix this issue.
how'd you try to flash the theme? through a custom recovery?
and why did it stop?
did you give hard factory reset a try? (dunno what exactly it resets but it might help, and it might actually be exactly what your phone is trying to do according to the screen output):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20310765&postcount=8
if that does not work, try to at least get some more logcat:
install the android sdk, plug your powered-off-phone into usb, run:
adb logcat
it should start the service and be:
Code:
- waiting for device -
then power the phone and post the output...
good luck
Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.
Thread moved.

Attached is a screenshot of the error I receive everytime.
The phone does not stay powered off when USB connected, keeps trying to boot.
After two splash screens, the error screen shows.
I used SDK to obtain the screenshot, but none of the other tools seem to work.
Below I have attached the screenshot.
so did you try the hard reset?
if you did, can you get into recovery mode (supposed to be A [QWERTY] + F [QWERTY] + Vol Down + Pwr) or s/w upgrade mode? (E [QWERTY] + Vol Up + Pwr)
if you can get into either one you're probably ok.
through recovery you can flash whatever, and through s/w upgrade you can use a tool called LG Mobile Update Tool (you wrote about odin, which is a samsung tool for samsung phones. this is apparently the lg equivalent):
download the original 2.3.6 firmware here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1825818
and do what they say here (its for the mytouch 4g but i guess the process is the same. you might wanna read up on this a bitbefore you do it):

I looked every where for this and hope it does not violate any rules - but wanted to repost so that it might help someone else. Again if it is a violation then I apologize but was just before returning to LG for repair.
If you have a tmobile prepaid LG c800 ( may work with contract phone not Sure) this should un brick your phone. I am not the author and take no credit it came from here :
http://androidforums.com/mytouch-q-...-progress-porting-custom-recovery-over-2.html
1: Download and install Drivers from LG site Mines is C800VL. http://www.lg.com/us/products/documents/LG_OSP2.0_Setup_2.0.07.20111130.exe
2: Download and install LGMobile Support Tool leave open i read it is needed to flash. http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/client/app/B2CAppSetup.exe
3: Download the .kdz file Its for C800DG but works for C800VL , C800VL don't have a kdz file at least i don't know i looked every where. V10D_00(C800DG).kdz - 4shared.com - online file sharing and storage - download
4: Open LGMobile Support Tool leave open.
5: Download the Flasher from post one
http://androidforums.com/attachment...s-porting-custom-recovery-over-updater-2-.zip unzip and install msxml.msi included with zip
open KDZ_FW_UPD.exe set to 3GQCT - Smart Phone(WM)
browse for KDZ file (V10D_00(C800DG).kdz)
click lunch software update and you should be in S/W Upgrade mode wait for program to finish if it errors leave phone in update mode and click lunch software update again.
One note make sure to download the correct version, there seems to be several the "LGMobile Support Tool"( file name "B2CAppSetup.exe") one will take you to the LG site and do an automatic update and tell you that your phone is not supported and to contact LG and the - "KDZ_FW_UPD.exe" it will be the one with the "browse for file" on the opening screen, also not sure but on another web site it said to use windows enabler file V 1.1 it will run on the task bar at the bottom as an Icon of the seperate windows tiled, click on this so that it says"on" not postive it is necessary but this how I ran the KDZ file. There is a V10V kdz file but it would not work on mine.
Update: after flashing with kdz - V10D_00 (2.3.4) Reflashed/updated with kdz V10v (2.3.6) would not upgrade OTA or at the lg site.
I rooted my LG L86c Optimus Showtime. I uninstalled some random app that came with it and I could uninstall with a special app like Twitter and Google Play Movies. Now I get "Secure Booting Unsuccessful Cause: errorlogo" I found that Google Play Movies has some DRM stuff in it that the phone checks for when it boots, and if it is not there, it fails the security test, and does not boot. I need help trying to get my phone in working order. Please ANYONE help me through this step by step. Just bought this phone and now it's a brick.
Edit: I was able to get it to the "Download is in progress. Do not disconnect cable." screen if that helps. I also downloaded the original .cab file for my phone with the app on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073827 I just don't know what to do with it all.

Could you please tell me how to get your LG Optimus Showtime L86C into the downloading mode. I have searched everywhere and can't get the information that I need. I have the same problem you do. Have you gotten your issues solved yet?

that wouldn't work.
when the phone is bricked like that, there's only two things you can do
go into emergency download mode, which not even LGs software repair tool can receognize
or make it reset itself to factory defaults, which also doesn't work because it doesn't put apps that aren't meant to be deleted back.
i know, i did this to my phone on accident and i had to buy a entirely new phone, because apparently this phone only exists on two message boards with very, very little posts or information.
I too have the exact same thing happening to me.
I have tried everything. In fact, I am willing to ship this phone to anyone out there to see if they can fix it.
Has anyone had any luck finding a fix to this yet?:crying::crying::crying:
Did you try hard reset? Usually in Lg Phones is hold power button + home button + volume up until the screen goes black and then release the power button. Keep holding the volume and home until you are in recovery.
Well, the thing about this phone is from what I have found is there are only 2 different screens that you can enter.
One screen is by pressing Power-Vol Down-Home and hold them down until a screen appears that says:
"Permanently Erase User Data & Reset Settings Press Power key to confirm, and any other key to cancel"
The other screen is by connecting the phone to the computer with a USB cable while holding down both Volume Up and Volume Down.
I have not been able to get any other screens to appear by any other means.
If I do the first above screen and let it go, the Android guy appears and it looks to begin to work, but when it goes away, the phone reboots and goes back to giving the error screen "Secure Booting Unsuccessful Cause: ErrorLogo".
Do you have any other suggestions?

Well from what i know ( i am not an expert and far from one ) is that the security check on boot fails because it can't find all the original files you had in the ROM. Did you try to reset setting on the Power-Vol down-Home? This will destroy all your data and it can't be recovered. If this does not work i think the only way is to go in the emergenc mode and flash stock rom ( the one with usb cable). I will look into this a little more but i don't have the phone. Anyway if you can't boot you lost phone data. Try that reset and tell me what happens.
Thank you for your quick responses.
When I do the Power-Vol down-Home, this is what happens:
the Android guy appears and it looks to begin to work, but when it goes away, the phone reboots and goes back to giving the error screen "Secure Booting Unsuccessful Cause: ErrorLogo"
I really appreciate everything you are trying to do to help me!!
I have used the Original LG Firmware tool located here "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073827" which is the only place that I can find the ROM for this phone anywhere on the internet, but for whatever reason, I cannot flash the phone.
I am really tired of trying. I'm so tired of messing with this phone. I'm almost ready to throw it in the trash.

You have a .cab file from that?
Yes, that is correct. It is named "L86CV10a_12.S0a_12.P59289.cab"
That is the only place that I have found on the entire www that I have been able to locate a firmware file for this phone.

Ah ok. You need to do the following conver the .cab into .kdz. Place your phone in download/emergy mode ( the one you put usb in ). Download lg drivers for your device. Then open Kdz flasher CDMA mode and emergency. Flash the image you converted. It will work i hope.
Here is the only place i found a converter. http://unleashedprepaids.com/printthread.php?tid=7736. Just do what i said up.
I don't really know if it will work for a different phone model. I am out of ideas if this doesn't work sorry. All you have to do is to find a way to flash that .cab from emergency mode or convert it to .kdz then kdz flash using emerngecy. Best of luck. Have a nice evening!

Stuck at 'Download in progress. Do not disconnect cable.'
Well, I tried to root my LG Optimus Showtime using the information I found here but, unfortunately, once it was rooted, it rebooted about 5 minutes later on it's own and is now stuck in 'Download is in progress. Do not disconnect cable.' at boot. I can't get it to be recognized when I connect it to the PC (it's not currently plugged into anything, though it says don't disconnect the cable). I have tried every key combo and trick I can find.
Please, for the love of all things Andriod, PLEASE someone help me figure this out. I don't have another cell and can't afford to buy a replacement anytime soon.
The root seemed to go smoothly. Super-user, Poot, reboot, no problem and then, 5 minutes later, it rebooted itself and has been stuck ever since.
Please tell me someone has SOME idea what I can do?
I have tried about a dozen times to flash with the kernel tool I got from on here but as far as I can tell, the PC doesn't actually 'see' the phone anymore when I plug in the USB cable and connect it to the PC. The LG mobile software update tool doesn't recognize/read it's state, nor does the LG Flash tool I got from here. Neither one 'recognizes' the phone and therefore, it won't 'take' a flash.
I am open to trying anything to fix it, even sending it so someone if they think they can get it back to root or stock; I don't care which as long as it isn't a paperweight!
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance!

The only thing you can do that I was able to do is to replace the mainboard. It takes about 10 minutes tops. go to phonepartsusa dot com and search for parts to the LG Venice, LG US730. The main board is less then $10. Then you have to deal with a new ESN. I was able to get a Showtime ie straight talk, mainboard for $8, I installed it and tried to activate it with the new ESN and it worked. Might be worth the $10 bucks.

S6 edge stuck on opening logo of "Samsung galaxy S6 edge" - it's not mine, so I can't know the history that caused it - but I think it's related to a bad try of rooting.
when trying to flash a new stock firmware from Sammobile getting the same problem - even after wipe and wipe cache.
on recovery getting this messege on the bottom:
dm-verity vertification failed... need to check DRK first...
this is what I tried to do to fix it:
1) flashed newest stock - still no do.
2) tried to flash with smart switch - it did flash - but it didn't help - phone still in bootloop.
3) flashed S6-UniKernel_v6-0001-ODIN or S6-UniBase_BOG8_v2 - it did helped, the phone worked, but I lost the IMEI and needed a certificate to fix the IMEI, I did it and the phone works fine..... BUT I can't left it with a custom rom 'cause I want the original updates and the original stock rom.
4) tried to flash the repair firmware G925FXXU1AOCV (comes with 4 files CSC, AP, MODEM and BOOTLOADER) which is 5.0.1, so it fails (tried also with pit file) - didn't do.
5) last thing I'm willing to try - is to split a new firmware to CSC MODEM BOOTLOADER and AP by myself... the only problem is - I don't actually know how to do it.
another thing I've noticed on the download mode it is written:
Current Binary: samsung Official and System status: custom
I was wonder if someone can give me a clue what to do, and how to fix this problem.
thanks!
What country are you from? Are you sure the phone isn't on 5.1.1??
Download the firmware from sammobile of your own country or the nearest country/countries, put the device in Odin mode and try to flash that one through Odin "AP" Okay "IF IT FAILS" (copy the Odin log and paste it on this thread. If it succeeds LET US KNOW PLEASE.
Be sure of the Android version.. If that's impossible my safe bet is to flash it with a rom for 5.1.1
You shouldn't mess with the PIT files!

hey,
first of all, thanks for the replay!
If I flashed with smartswitch - then it should flash the newest rom and the one who fits for the device.
what I flashed in odin is: G925FXXU3COJ1_G925FOJK3COJ3_G925FXXU3COJ6_HOME.tar
which is Israeli firmware and 5.1.1

Okay, BUT when you ran Odin did it succeed or fail flashing the device?
If it failed what was displayed on Odin logs?
If it failed, Please re-flash your device again through Odin and whether it fails OR succeeds, COPY THE LOG AND PASTE IT HERE !
I need to see the logs, if you want help.

please let me know if you get any sort of fix as i think im having same sort of bootloader issue....
Hey Ice, i didn't get your reply on ur thread sorry.
Do you have the same UniKernel as described above?
Please give me all info you have about your device and the current condition of the device (please be clear about what you can do with the device now and how you get to a certain menu such as Recovery/OdiDLmode/Smartswitch/Bootloop*kind of bootloop.)
Hope to be of good help.

Hi thanks,
have no idea about unikernel and have not tried anything with unikernel,
read someting about this somewhere else too,, something about the kernel not even loading cud be a problem?
phone is a galaxy s6 edge SM-G925F
was working fine and apparently on hungarian XEH firmware but not sure if it was on 5.02 or 5.1.1 when 16 year old kid did something or the other with it to put into bricked state.
have no idea of its previous info or condition as it was handed to me in a bricked state
only thing i can do with device is get into download mode and flash via odin...
have never ever been able to get it into recovery mode ever !!!! not even after any successful flashing
I can flash many stock files either the single tar files or either the 4 part multifirmware files
Can do flash and emergency recovery firmware through samsung smartswitch
but no matter what flash if its odin stock firmware flash or samsung smartswitch flash have never seen recovery and always can never get past the white samsung galaxy edge 6 with powered by android in white at bottom too
after succesful flashes in odin cant get out of download mode if auto reboot is ticked, only way out is to hold vol down and power. or get back into download mode then vol down to cancel/restart,
phone just never gets past that white message screen, sometimes that message will splash across screen continuouly like its turning on and off...like some sort of bootloop.... depending how i try to power/boot the phone back up again
and then sometimes it will just stay on the screen forever lit up and frozen/hanging...
strange thing that is happening now if you look at the last few attempts of flashing the 4 part multi firmware file and ticking re-partition to fix the pit files...
once i turn phone off out of download mode.... i cant power the phone/boot it up using just the power on button.
normally i assume to start the phone or turn phone on all u would need to do is hold power button.
so if phone is powered down or turned off after flash, power button alone will not turn it back on, have to go back into download mode and restart from there
i hope any of all that makes any sense at all
Here is a question for you.
When the device is OFF and you plug it into your computer, does the device then jump to the Smart Switch screen?
Btw IMPORTANT when you say that you "flash" the device through odin are you referring to the pictures on your thread where the logg states that it failed on "nand write" and once on "hidden.img" or did it actually pass after the complete flashing of all the files "hidden.img" included?
Firstly need to try this; when the device is stuck in the bootloop you have to do this.
It shows you this type of screen (1st)
http://www.pocketpc.ch/attachments/...49759183-s6-edge-bootloop-20151210_155028.jpg
(does it say kernel isn't seandroid enforced?)
Then this 2nd screen shows up
http://zidroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Galaxy-S5-Boot-Animation.png
RIGHT after the 2nd screen SAMSUNG LOGO disappears press volume UP, HOME and POWER you need to be VERY FAST.
Then once the (1st) screen pops up again, release the POWER then volume UP and HOME buttons.
Maybe it's possible that it'll jump into recovery, even if it does this is not the solution just a way to diagnose.
Don't worry we'll fix it!
---------- Post added at 02:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:10 AM ----------
If you have to flash it in any way to get it in a bootloop then the test isn't required! Don't do it.

This is what i gathered for you guys as a possible fix, it would work 100% if you guys didn't mess with EVERYTHING IN ODIN!
Because i have tested it myself several times.
READ EVERYTHING CLEARLY
4# When you mess with an s6 to the point that it does not turn on anymore and it only reacts until you plug it into a computer then it shows a screen "error occurred during update use Smart Switch..."
Well by that point Smart Switch mode partially takes over and you can only flash the device successfully in Smart Switch mode using Odin on the computer NOT Smart Switch.
(this knowledge will be useful later)
!!! PART 1 !!!
Here we go, follow this in detail.
STEP 1. You need to download the original Odin 3.10.6 from XDA here below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3109599&d=1420980613
STEP 2. Download the Kernel below:
http://mirror31.downloadandroidrom....nibase/S6-UniBase_BOG8_v2.tar?token=514002462
STEP 3. Open Odin on your computer as administrator.
STEP 4. Now connect your device to your computer.
STEP 5. Put your device/phone in Odin mode.
(volume down, home and power)
STEP 6. Make sure Odin has detected the device.
STEP 7. Load the Kernel in "AP" and wait 1 minute, then click START.
It should say PASS! However if it does not succeed, reboot the device and try it again in Smart Switch mode.
(It should actually pass the first try if these simple instructions are followed properly)

!!!PART 2!!!
STEP 1. Download this Firmware below:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/62003/G925FXXU3QOKN_G925FVFG3QOKN_VDF/
STEP 2. Open Odin as administrator.
STEP 3. Connect your device to your computer.
STEP 4. Put your device/phone into Odin mode.
(volume down, home, power)
STEP 5. Make sure Odin has detected your device.
STEP 6. Load the Firmware in Odin "AP" and WAIT a few minutes UNTIL Odin is done reading the file. THEN CLICK on START and install the Firmware!
!!! IMPORTANT !!!
1st Possibility, if Odin shows "FAIL" "hidden.img" then that's a GOOD THING!
your phone is allmost fixed.
(Let me know if that happens.)
2nd Possibility, if Odin stops at "Nand Write" you must start over, unplug your device make sure it's OFF, then plug it back into the computer in order to boot the DEVICE into SMART SWITCH MODE and then follow the "STEPS 2,3,5,6" again!
DO NOT FOLLOW "STEP 4" Leave the device in SMART SWITCH MODE. (read above "4#")
HOWEVER
If Odin shows "PASS" then DO NOT UNPLUG the DEVICE! Go get yourself a coffee your device should be perfectly fixed!
Just unplug it AFTER A FEW MINUTES and try to switch it on, if it doesn't boot up? All you need to do is replug it into the computer and see if it boots up by itself (this does occur sometimes).

You can proceed rooting your device ask for help for a complete root guide for this specific device/model SM-G925F.

I also got the "dm verity vertification failure" today, but with me it happened because I was dumb enough to flash a G920I modem and bootloader on my G925F...
So it also bootlooped and everything, and then just like what you had, it asked me for Smart Switch. But then when I used Smart Switch on it, I got firmware from a totally different country than my own (think it was from Mexico or something), as I live in the Netherlands. And it even asked me for my phone's serial number before Smart Switch went on and flashed that firmware.
So I guess they only look at the CSC or something? Anyway, after that I got it into download mode and immediately flashed the newest correct firmware, and am happily flashing ROM's again Just download your own country's 5.1.1 firmware and you'll be alright, as long as you can get into download mode

yeah... already flashed the newest for my country.. it flashes well but still stuck on logo after.
from some reason after flashing, on DL mode it shows :
Current Binary: samsung Official
System status: custom
so the system status refuses to become official. even after using the smartswitch software.
I think maybe some of the partitions in the eMMC are corrupted.

They told me it is easier for them to repair and make it working . because we have no opportunity to use now kdz and there no way to save it .
So anyone please tell me the minimum cost of repair asked by lge repair center.
Here they asked me to give 250 INR. I was shocked in greb my phone and ran away from shop because I have not even 10 INR. :crying:

It will be great, however I'll answer tomorrow.
Haven't been getting much sleep this week, and it's past midnight here, I may fall asleep standing at any moment now.
But you can post the whole process right now if you wish, perhaps someone else will be able to help you by then.
Process before p500 brick!
My p500 was running on stock ginger bread v20d version. As we all know it has ugly android animation so i added boot animation zip file and added a file from cm10.1's media folder to run boot animation .Recovery was Amon Ra thunder G.
I was trying to update busybox through just their free apk (available on play store) . so I was installing it I select advance option and also choose non recommend applets . I found after finishing installation my phone was take more time to wake from screen off . I understand that I made a great done .because nothing like this was happened before in stock ROM . I tried to reboot it but stuck at my own added custom animation . as usual I try to go to recovery and delete this animation file . but now I stuck recovery start up text BUILD :RA THUNDER GNM.
God of android come here to help me please
I do not have 250 Rupees to pay them .?
Why can't you use kdz?
I think that you may be able to use it with the bootloader.
Edit: I found out what you need to do.
First, you need to boot to emergency mode.
Instructions are here, it's the same for the Optimus One, so no need to worry.
http://www.ehow.com/how_12314778_boot-emergency-mode-optimus-t.html
Update: Here are more complete instructions.
Make sure you have installed the LG drivers, and you have the kdz file (full image, not just modem).
How to Flashing LG Optimus One back to Original Firmware
Turn off your cellphone
Press and hold Volume[+] + Power + Back buttons, until your Optimus boot in emergency mode
Connect LG Optimus One to PC (via USB)
tips: maybe it`s a little strange to do, but you can try to shake the phone if it can`t detect.
Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
Select Type : 3GQCT
Select PhoneMode : DIAG
tips: if this option failed try EMERGENCY or CS_EMERGENCY
At KDZ Files section, select firmware that you already download
Click launch software update button
tips: someone say that it`s good idea to shake your optimus one with gently to avoid stuck.
Wait until it`s done, unplug the usb cable
Press and hold Volume[-] + HOME + Power buttons
See the firmware version, congratulation you did it.
If you don't have the files, I'll post links for you to download them.

Yes, I did so half a year ago, to update my LG Optimus P500H.
Unfortunately there was no update in Israel, and it's firmware was at one of our cellular providers (Pelephone), so I had to use this method to flash a different country's unlocked firmware (some european firmware, I forget which) with the same bands support in the modem, before flashing CM7.1 and TWRP.
It's just been a long time, that's why I didn't remember how to do it.

It should work with with all P500's, restrictions or no restrictions, it doesn't matter.
I will test on this Sunday. When my laptop comes to home. By the way if it works I promise I will give you 100 Rupiya as donation.
