I'm trying to load the Unofficial 2.2 ROM onto my phone and I'm using the Odin method. I got into Download mode, got the pit and the ROM and put it all in place, the process starts but it just keeps getting stuck at "Do not turn off the Target." Now if I restart it, it won't even go into my phone.
Any suggestions why it keeps stopping at that point?

My advice is to repost this question in the Q and A section and then edit your OP, to indicate you've done as much... Add a link in THIS OP to your Q and A thread. You should get some help after that i'm sure.
does you phone just sit at a black screen? mine did the same thing black screen to where i doesnt look like its on but if you turn the lights off in the room your in you will see the screen is actually lit! no idea on how to fix this myself... on mine if you press and hold the vol up, vol down, and power buttons for a while, (until your fingers hurt) you will eventually see a black screen with red writing with some stuff i was unable to understand! but thats all i could get out of the phone... called t-mobile and they sent a replacement... but i would like to know what i did wrong because i will be flashing froyo alot and i dont want to run into this problem again... btw can get odin to recognize the phone at all!
If your phone is not Hardkey locked.
1) Remove battery from phone and put it back in again
2) Plug your USB into your computer (and make sure it is not in your phone yet)
3) Push and hold down your two volume keys (DO NOT HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON)
4) Plug in the USB cable into your phone
This takes me into Download every time. I did what you did. I had problem with Odin my phone and it just got stuck. I unplugged the phone and rebooted it. Or I should say I tried. It was dead to the world. Black screen. Power button did not start etc. Ran into a note from Kazer and he suggested the above procedure and it worked every time for me. Holding down the power button did not work for me.
Try it out and let me know if it worked.
Hey all I rooted my X10 awhile back in order to use Titanium Backup.
I wanted to go to 2.2 but one of the pre-steps was to use xRecovery. I installed xRecovery but it failed to run (went straight to FC). I thought this could be due to an incomplete root. I had Z4root on my phone. I opened it up and sure enough it stated my phone wasn't rooted. So I ran Z4 and it rebooted. Unfortunatly 2 things happend. 1) xRecovery still won't run (still FC) and 2) I can no longer get it to see my computer in order to move files to/from the SD card.
I attempted to do a SUSE reinstall of the firmware. I followed the instructions but nothing i do seems to work. Even when the phone is off, I would attempt to hold the back key while plugging the phone in, which should put the phone into a flash mode.
I tried to use Z4 to unroot the phone but the issue still persists.
Any assistance in repairing this would be awesome!
Try flashtool.

I just tried flashtool but unfortunatly I can't seem to get my phone into "Flash Mode"
I know the back button works but the phone itself is refusing to enter Flash mode. Or at least the software isn't seeing the phone. When I plug the phone into my laptop while holding down the back button, I get the green light on the phone which usually indicates it is in Flash mode, but the software (both SUSE and Flashtool) are not identifying/seeing it. I will try again in the morning from my desktop computer instead of my work laptop.

Are all your drivers in place?
What exactly do you mean by "I know the back button works but the phone itself is refusing to enter Flash mode." is it that the green light turns on and goes in a few seconds or is it that it does not turn on at all.
If it turns on, then the possible issue is with the driver, try using the flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746 and post a print screen of the output.

You need to have PC companion and seus installed before hand because they help you with all driver installation. If you don't have then.installed then you cannot use the flash tool.

So I was odin'ing back to stock from bionix (forget which) and it failed. I've done this flash more times than i can count from various ROMs, kernels, etc... and never had a problem. However this time it failed, and I can't get back to download mode.
I've found that the best way to get to download mode for my phone is to hold both volume buttons and plug in the USB. This doesn't work, I just get the " phone ! computer " screen every time. power button and bottom volume gets the same, as does power and both up and down. Power and volume up goes to the "POWER RESET or UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE" screen.
So, does anyone have any ideas aside from picking up a JIG? it's shipping tomorrow probably.
Take your phone into a T-Mobile store and tell them you flashed your phone to a custom rom and now it won't boot up. Then ask them to exchange your phone for a new one; see if that works.
Well, at least you bothered to type it out instead of copying and pasting from the other thread xP
use the search button.
If your getting the phone ! computer screen. your not bricked at all, just us Odin to flash back to stock. the Screen your seeing is just another form of download mode. but if you really want to get back into download mode, pull everything from the phone.
Sim, mem, battery.
make sure the USB is plugged into the PC with Odin open.
plug the USB into the phone.
put the battery in while holding the volume rocker and it should boot into DL right away.
I got stuck on this screen before and this saved me

Hello comrades,
I have xperia x10 mini pro. I rooted phone with Flashtool and installed CWM. I tried to boot it in flash mode (turned off phone, back button held and plugged in USB into the phone), but what I get is that my phone turned on always, like that I pressed Power button.
Earlier I couldn't boot it into the flash mode and I got that I charging battery, but after I installed CWM, phone always turns on.
Due to, I can't re-flash it because it always turns on. I tried with flashtool, PC companion, SEUS but all software need that I turn off phone and then hold back button and plug in usb and what I get is turned on phone. Please help me how to fix this problem.
I would like to re-flash it to stock 2.1.1.A.0.6 (2.1-update1).
Phone turns on even if I just plug in usb to phone (one end is in the PC and when I plug in other end into the phone, phone turns on). What is wrong guys?

Happened to me b4 if u want to repair with pc comp just remove the battery till u reach connection step then quickly connect battery and cable (nvm the cover) and hold back button when connecting if u do fast enough will work
sent from my u20i xperia x10 mini pro running mini cm9 3.0.2 on nAa ics 3
THX nAa. VERY MUCH!!!
Leave your phone plugged in and press POWER-HOME and BACK all together, as soon as the screen turns completelly black (backlight off too) releast POWER and HOME, and leave the back-button pressed, that will probably work too.

Can you explain me a little more detailed, i didn't get you very well. I am noob
How do you mean until I reach connection step, where should I reach connection step?
You take out the battery, then you go into PC Companion and follow the steps to repair your phone, until it asks to connect your phone in flash-mode.
Then do as he said (put the battery in etc.)

What do you think, what will happened if I wipe it using CWM? Can I brick it on that way?
If you mean formatting your phone, so you don't have a system on there anymore... that probably will give you a brick. Flashmode is a hardware feature, implemented to install firmware and enable reparations to your phone's software.
Deleting everything you can will not magically solve your problem, as far as i know.
It might help if you get mad at the phone and abuse the back-button by repeatedly pressing it when connecting the phone.

Does this mean that I have hardware problem. Phone works without any problem.
Somehow it doesn't detect you pressing the back-button, maybe there is some dust or dirt inbetween the contacts or something, since you flashed sucessfully before i don't think it's a serious hardware-problem.

I didn't flashed it before, I couldn't do that. I couldn't unlock bootloader, because I couldn't boot it in flash mode (phone just show that battery charging), after installing CWM now phone even don't show that battery is charging (it turns on when I plug in USB in the phone without holding any button). This is nightmare!
You are still on the original firmware then?
I mean, your phone still works?

Yes, I am on original firmware and phone still works, but I have problem to boot it in flash mode. When I plug in USB cable in the phone it turns on, like that I pressed POWER button. I don't press any button, but when I plug in usb cable 10-20 seconds and phone is on.
Yes, because your phone detects the usb-cable getting plugged in, even when it's off, it thinks you want to charge it, so (normally) it loads the kernel in order to start the charging-process, that is normal behaviour. I have been on a kernel that didn't support that feature, and it booted into the full rom before it started charging.
In short: the usb-port also functions as a power-button, sort off
Does the back-button work normally when you're on the firmware? (Like, open the app-drawer, pressing back-button should close it?)

Yes, the back button works perfect, closing apps (not close apps, but back to the phones "desktop"), back to previous pages in browser...
I am concerned because, before I installed CWM , when it was OFF and plugged in on USB, phone just showed black screen and when I clicked on some button I could see that battery is charging, that was all. Now, when I plug in USB it turns on like I pressed POWER button.
And off course never booted in flash mode because it turns on

What is app-drawer, I don't know what is that.
oh, that's the bit where you find all your installed apps, the grid you see when you press on the little triangle on the bottom of your desktop, or swipe up on the desktop.
I honestly don't know why your phone won't go into flash-mode though. Maybe try to take out your battery for about 10 minutes so your phone gets rid of all charge and static, and then try again.

I solved problem about POWER-ing on when I plug in USB. I installed new ROM "MiniCM7Pro_V21_Paul_XXX" via CWM because I didn't need to boot it in flash mode and now when I plug in USB I got that it charging battery and orange led diode.
But I can't boot it in flash mode even with new ROM, all the time orange led diode when I hold back button and plug in USB. I wiped out all date except something about "battery" from Advanced CWM options.

best thing that ever happened to me was i bricked my my xperia mini pro u20 haha got ics out it lol
My x10 is bricked and won't boot past the Sony Ericsson screen. I have trouble getting it to turn on at all, it takes a weird combination of removing the battery and holding whatever keys. All I know is that it won't turn on unless I take out the battery, put it back in, hold the volume buttons, and press power. If i'm lucky, the phone will vibrate, and seconds later I'll have the SE screen. If there is no usb plugged in, it will go to recovery. I cannot, to save my life, get this phone into flash mode. I had it like an hour ago, but for some reason flashtool got stuck on reading device information, and I couldn't get it back into flash mode since then. Can someone help?

try out the REPAIR option in SEUS or PC companion.
(also to get into flash mode follow the following steps in the same order as mentioned below :
1. remove battery and plug it in.
2. connect the usb to the x10 first.
3. finally connect the other end of the usb cable to the pc holding the back button. )
OR
you can also try out this method too
Okay, I finally got it working. But the problem is that sometimes it just randomly turns off, and doesn't turn back on again. And when it does I'm not sure why. It might be a battery but I've got three of them, and two of them are new. So it shouldn't be that. (BTW, I managed to root it, unlock the bootloader, and install FXP125 7.2 cyanogen mod. It works fine when it's turned on.) It's like it has moments where the phone works perfectly, turning on, being able to get to recovery and flash mode, and moments where it does absolutely nothing.
strange behaviour !
try to wipe cache partition and dalvik cache
or may be you could reinstall clockwork mod nd CM7 once again right from the beginning
also you should let the ROM settle before its regular use.
***EDIT***
i am also on FXP125 CM7 and so far no such behaviour.
