What program of navigation like Igo should i use to Htc Mozart?
well at the moment im using oranges nav, its nowhere near as nice as igo but does the job. i read somewhere that one of the up coming updates will have some kinda navigation built in to it. fingers crossed. hope this has helped.
I am using Orange Nav on my Mozart but you need to be on Orange obviously.
Otherwise there isn't really anything available yet AFAIK
I try to find orange map at my orange operator but i`m not sure in Romania it`s avabile...
some more nav rumors here for you. also posted in the wp7 update tread i have started.

Hi Guys, gotta say this forum is absolutely fantastic.
A quick question, I have noticed a few people saying that Tomtom V4.40 works under Windows Mobile 2005. However I have searched for this version and it is only available as far as I know for the Palm.
My question is if I buy the version of the Palm will it work Windows Mobile 2005? or was there a specific version released for the pocket pc.
I want to avoid buying any software which doesn't work.
Thanks a lot, keep up the great work.
Now, officially TomTom 4.4 for PocketPC was never released as a stand-alone product. It is the translated version of the Palm version which was released in the HP Navigation Pack.
It this the version where the touchscreen doesn't work?
I'd be interested in trying it as I can't obviously get v3 working, and I can't even get a guarantee that V5 will work if I buy the upgrade (although I am sure it will be fine, they say they can't guarantee it on my device as it's not an official WM2005 release and so on).
Can't find it though.

the touchscreen works fine and it seems a lot smoother to use but there is an issue with the backlight with a workaround.
it is out there if you look in the right places ;-)
I just bought a orange spv m3100 from ebay and am waiting for it to arrive, probably around wednesday, at which time i will reflash it with wm6 black shadow. Anyways, im also getting a new pc and ps3, so im getting a bluetooth keybaord, as it can work with both. I was wondering if it will work out of the box with the refalshed tytn.this may seem like a stupid question, but i think its relevant.
thanks in advance
rory
I used my microsoft bluetooth keyboard with my TyTn with orginal rom no problem. In fact it was harder to get it to work with the PC!
Hello everyone,
just got my brand new shiny Streak. And man its something. Basically, everything I ever wanted from and now looking back at all the phones I had and other phones on the market I can`t keep wondering why in gods name would someone buy something else other than a 5" phone. 4-4.3" is good but 5" is just perfect.
So I made this upgrade from an Xperia X1 and never do I want to see WinMo in my life. But right now I have an ... android rush lol. Lots of info, apps, games. Its like an overload to try and understand everything and get use to everything. In a good way.
My first issue was with the car charger. Dell charges a lot as you already know. But I found an universal car charger for 7 pounds, that outputs 5V and 1A and i`m using the data cable to charge the phone in my car. No need for a holder just yet.
The pouch is good, but definately needs a proper case as its getting annoying sometimes to take it out all the time.
Got a few questions, regarding apps and games and such, if anyone here has more experience with android than me...
1. I`m planning to buy this (http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php) . Will it affect the screen brightness in any way ?
2. Currently using GoNews as my newsreader but I`m looking for a good working one that also has to option to search a website for RSS feed. The one i`m using at the moment gives me the option to import from a file or input the whole adress manually.
3. Gaming wise, I dont mind paying for games. And the ones i`d pay for would be a good RPG and an RTS. Currently thinking about buying ZENONIA, but I can`t seem to find any RTS games out there (StarCraft, Age of Empires, Command and Conquer). Not those games, but they are examples of gameplay i`m looking for.
4. Also looking for a game that works on Streak similar to Worms world party. Could have tanks or other things, but should work lol. Tried something Armored Lite or whatevr the name was but the graphics war very buggy and made gaming pretty impossible.
5. Dialer. Can it be changed ?
6. Email client. BEfore getting the phone, i was reading reviews and stuff. People said the email client sucked. At first I thought it was ok but god I was wrong. Can`t do anything besides reading the email. Could anyone recommend a better email client ?
7. How do I make it stop turning the display on and off while on a phonecall ?
8. What benefits would I have if I root it ? Not an android expert and not sure if I should give it a try or not.
9. 3g or Wi-Fi videochat. Are there any apps that do this ?
10. Last but not least hehe Navigation. Basically I think its great and considering I spend A LOT of time in my car and using a TomTom, I was thinking of replacing my satnav with my Streak. BUT, is the navigation software dependent on internet connection and gps ? As far as I saw, if my internet connection drops the navigation looses the map or something. Is there any android navigation app that is GPS only. Giving the 16 GB memory, I don`t mind downloading maps and such.
Thanks
I may not be able to answer all your questions, but i will do my best
1) No, it shouldn't affect the brightness much (maybe slightly). I've never owned an invisible shield, but i've heard very good things about them. The 'feel' of the screen will change, however.
2) Not sure, sorry
3) There are not that many good android games out there at the moment (not that look good on the streak at least). I'm not a big gamer though, so i can't really answer this question well
4) as above
5) Of course! there are numerous 3rd party diallers out there. Or, you can pull the dialler application from your phone and change the images if you want (requires root)
6) There's a nice e-mail client in the market called K9. It works perfectly.
7) The display only turns itself off when the sensor is covered (when you hold the phone to your ear), i believe that otherwise the screen stays active. If it does not, you can always change the 'screen time-out' in settings to 'Never Timeout'.
8) Rooting allows you to modify the system files. This means, like mentioned above, you can pull applications from your phone and modify the images. This means you can create and apply themes. You can also overclock your phones processor (not been done yet on this phone i don't think). There are countless other things you can do. Here's a good list- http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Why_Root
9) There aren't many video call apps, but if you search 'Movicha' in the market place there is an app called 'Live Mobile Video Chat' which apparently does the job. (no idea if it works on the streak though)
10) Good question, never really thought about this before. I've found a good (and more importantly, free!) app though, called 'TrekBuddy'. You download the maps prior to your journey and then it allows offline navigation. Not sure how well it works, but it's the best i can do!
Hope this helps!
Thanks a lot. Still reading tons of android forums and websites.

Yes that is true and if you know where to look there is a not so legal one out there
I have the Invisible Shield and it works like a charm. No brightness effects at all. The only thing is that the shield for the back left and right is not cut very well, but the front ones and battery cover is great.

agreed. copilot is very good, it almost pains me to say that considering how god awful it preformed on my G1 but on the streak its fantastic. little extra power goes along way
Hi,
according to following thread I got a question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783961
The HTCSense Service has launched now. My question is, will it work on a HD2? Do you need any updates oder something else?
And my next question is, which of these things are still working on the HD2?
http://www.htc.com/uk/htcsense/index.html
-> I know, that the loudness control of the ringtone is supported, but which of these things will work too?
And the most important thing which should work is the remote lock ability. Will this be possible on HD2? - still answered by myself!
Has anyone detailed information or maybe tried this service?
I preffer to buy a HD2 because this phone is the most capable for my requirements, and if HTCSense-Service is working too, I will buy it instantly
Greez zyclop
Edit: I have found some Information on the HTCSense.com page itself. Supported devices are currently only Desire HD and Desire Z.
Anyone knows if older devices will supported in future? Because e.g. Desire is the same as Desire Z except the keyboard!
i think its android only.............
Hmm, every device manufacturer sets focus on developing and improve Android or Windows Phone 7 devices. Why do they all forget WM 6.5 which is still not dead. That this will not work on WP 7 is clear, because of the restrictions WP 7 brings by itself. But for Windows Mobile 6.5 it would be possible to implement, maybe there is any equivalent solution to manage data and security via web-frontend?!
There is still another question unanswered:
Which of these features work with HD2?
http://www.htc.com/uk/htcsense/index.html
I passed my question about support of older/further devices to HTC, I'll post their reply as soon as I got answer.
Edit:
Microsoft My Phone is doing exactly the same what HTCSense.com provides. But it would be very great if I can synchronize my stuff witch HTC, and re-synchronize it with another phone, maybe an Android device in future. Or a Windows Phone 7 device... today I don't know which device will be my next. So therefor this would be very great.
Has anyone ever tried Microsoft My Phone or any other service to save phone data and lock phone if it gets lost/stolen?

I use microsoft my phone whenever I have to hard reset and it has always been very reliable......... basic but reliable........
The whole point of the htc sense web side of things is just to try and tempt people into moving to a htc device........
Although 6.5 might not be "dead" as far as xda is concerned, htc however probably do not really care about 6.5 anymore, there certainly will not be anymore 6.5 handsets released.......
Anything that can be acheived through sense.com can already be acheived through 3rd party app already available for 6.5.......
Okay, you think, the HD2 is the best choice if I want to have a WM6.5 device? Or should I wait for newer devices? Or will there never be new devices? I really don't like any other OS than WM, because it has many advantages, I guess more than any other OS.
Back to topic:
I even read the page from HTC again and there are only 4 points important to me. So which are working with HD2, too?
1. "Ever fumbled with your phone because it went off at full-blast during a meeting? Well, don’t worry! Now as soon as you lift your phone up to see who’s calling, the ringer volume gets lower. Want it silenced completely? Just flip it over."
2. "When you don’t want to miss that special call, your phone knows when and how to get your attention. For example, if it’s tucked away in your bag it will know to ring louder."
3. "Now when you look to see who’s calling, you get to see their latest social status updates or if they have a birthday coming up. The conversation starts before you say hello!"
4. "Don’t worry about missing the next turn when a call comes in. Your map stays on screen while a call bar gently slides its way into view."
All points can be found on http://www.htc.com/uk/htcsense/index.html
I'm not sure, but I think point 1 and 2 are working - are they? A few months ago I got a HD2 from my company. But I weren't able to check all of the stuff... Now I changed the company and don't have a HD2 anymore. I really want to have it to detach my XPERIA X1.
I dont think any new 6.5 devices will be released so yeah the HHD2 is definetely your best bet.........
1 + 2 are working.....
3 doesnt Im afraid.....
I dont know about 4 as I dont use my my phone for navigation, not yet anyway....
I use my phone as navi only in foreign cars, because my own car has a built in navi
Maybe anyone knows whether this is working or not.
Do you know which version of Sens/Manila is installed on latest HD2 stock rom? And is there any page or wiki, where I can see all the features of this version?
I've tried Telenav - not impressed, at least not enough to pay $10 a month.
Can anyone recommend any 3rd party GPS apps that are known to work with the Radar? I've heard Navigon doesn't work because of the lack of compass, but I don't have first hand experience so that statement could be wrong.
Any feedback is appreciated!
try this....
Hi there...
Try "Turn by Turn" Navigation.
It's free/trial, as long as you don't ask for directions...
Y.
Navigon works great and well worth the price. Plus the new version lets you download only the maps you need, taking up only about ~300mb of space.
Because of gps tracking, a compass isn't really needed. The map rotates with each turn I make.
Is gmaps pro worth buying? I came from an hd2 with android to this phone and not being able to find bus directions is a pain
Does anyone know of a navigon trial version. Had copilot7 on my touch hd, stupidly assumed I could install on radar...sadly mango is not best supported os, and most devs now concentrating on iPhone and android....grrrr. Still an iPhone hater and love windows, so need a new choice. Also heard that navigon doesn't work on radar coz of lack of compass, but is shown as supported on navigon website...just want to check it out b4 I commit to buy, as UK version is staggering £72 :-/
Anyone try Garmin?

Hmm, weird. I thought I replied to this thread already but I guess not, hah.
I can confirm that Navigon works wonderfully on the Radar, even without the digital compass. It tracks awesomely and quickly and when I turn in the car, it's able to detect via gps that I'm turning as well, and the navigation is seamless.
I also believe there is a Navigon trial, but it's only a simulation to play with routes and stuff and you can't actually use it to navigate.

Have tried and own Garmin.. in some ways wish I would have gone with Navigon, but Garmin has been doing some updates..... aside from letting me download maps while on my wifi... The app is fantastic. The new update is slick. It looks to me like Garmin is developing on WP7 and that is a huge bonus... not just a token effort then poof they are gone like Intuit.
HTC Locations is now a full GPS app
Ok guys, here's some fresh news: HTC Locations was upgraded today to a full GPS navigation software. It includes downloadable maps of all countries, offline routing, turn by turn voice navigation in any language, speed cameras, points of interest, etc. So go ahead, upgrade and give it a try!
Having used all available GPS software (navigon, nokia drive, turn by turn, garmin etc) i must say i'm impressed with this one. This is the only GPS navigation software so far that planned some known routes exactly as i would plan them. I checked it out with Data turned off and it seems to plan routes and navigate 100% offline.
The only thing that seems to be missing, at least in my language, is Text To Speech. Also, voice navigation and speed cameras are subscription-based. They will be free for the first month and then you will be required to purchase them.
Yes! It works great, but we got one bad thing - one month trial....
How do you install Navigon to HTC Radar...does it have to be sideloaded to dev unlocked phone....cos i have been reading all about that, and have to say....woah...I think having just shelled out 500 for the phone, i would have expected to at least be able to do more than sync with Zune, and be forced to use live services. Perhaps I should have researched the platform more before buying. Just assumed it would be as good as all the other winmo devices that i have had

Your Radar is not a "winmo device" and experiences you had with Windows Mobile should not be expected to inform Windows Phone ones.
Stealing
You miss my point.
I downloaded the navigon trial, 30 day, It says it has to be placed on memory card etc.
Downside....no memory card on Radar so, my question stands, how do you install it on HTC Radar?
I have no problem paying for decent sat nav for Radar....I had Co-Pilot on my HTC Touch Hd, and that was good. From what I have seen of Navigon, looks good also, but want to try before I spen £72 on it.
GPSOn turn by turn is fine, nice features with turn reminders flashing etc, but a 24 hour trial is hardly enough to determine whether it is worth £30.
My job requires daily driving all over the UK, and I just want to be able to put in postcode or address and forget it.
for $4 turn by is the best it also has satalite veiw
Have tried Navigon, Turn by Turn and HTC Locations.
The best one imo is HTC Locations IIRC ~29$ for life
+1 for htc locations
